What I love about I Love Bagels is how they weren't just some entrepaneurs who had no bagel experience or some chef out here who switched to bagels, but they are East Coast 2nd get bagel shop owners keeping all those lovely traditions alive. BEC-SPK on an a plain if your on the go or an everything if your sitting down is the way to go, that's Bacon, Egg, Cheese, Salt, Pepper , Ketchup for the uninitiated. Moon pies are a nostalic favorite and the NY style cheesecake is an unexpected twist, more than the moonpies. They stock a few dozen varieties. My favorites are the everything, plain, poppy, sessame, salt. They oddly keep a half dozen desert flavors which is more than the standard 2-3 some places carry. Their cream cheese is thick, but not overly tangy. I love it when they make the egg everything bagel. It's got the most chew. I do wish they bagels had a little harder crunch, but they aren't waxy and flat which are still great qualities. Spinach parm and asiago cheese or the jalapeno cheddar add that toothsomeness and depth of flavor more than just a topping/garnish. They keep a dozen schmears, again a surprisingly larger than most # of sweet schmears. The California style bagel is sweeter, softer, but who knew we apparently like sweeter schmears too. I wish they cured and cut their lox in house, but thats alot to ask as they are not a deli, but make a few sandwiches. Bagel dog is super good as they use their everything bagel dough and a Hebrew National. Classic. Bagel pizza needs a more r&d'd sauce and more toppings. I wish they potato salad was creamier with more tang. I love how they have Taylor Ham/Pork Roll. For those that don't know if your from North of Somerset you call it Taylor Ham and if your from Somerset or south you call it Pork Roll. It provides that fermented tang and chew that Spam could never. It's still a very NY thing which I'm glad they didn't lose coming out here. Sadly they stopped carrying Hal's/New York Seltzer waters and the fridge is more gas station vibes. I really enjoyed the black cherry, peach root beer, cream soda in that order going with my bagels here growing up. It's just East Coast enough to bring fond memories, but they never lost their quality ingredients and bagel techniques. Service is hit or miss, sometimes welcoming and friendly, other times busy and short, almost too short. Don't take yourself too serious bagel lady, it's 70 degrees and sunny in Southern California. As a vegan, it's pretty hard for me to find good "quick" breakfast options, but I was lucky to find that I Love Bagels serves a delicious veggie sandwich that can be made vegan!!! I got an everything bagel with all the fixings (no cheese, no mayo) and it even came with a bag of chips. Service was friendly, and food came out quickly despite it being very busy on a Monday morning! I decided to dine in, and was lucky to grab a table. There are about 6-7 tables with chairs indoors, a sofa in the waiting area, and about 2-3 tables with chairs outdoors. The place felt very home-y: it seems like the type of place that has a lot of regulars which is rare in a world full of fast food chains. Wanted to give this place a try after doing a bit of research. For a place that's still decently priced in terms of bagels, they were definitely busy for a weekend morning. I can see why people like them, but for me it just wasn't what I was looking for. I got the egg and cheese bagel on jalapeno cheddar. The bagel was warm and chewy but a lot smaller and thinner than I'd expect. I had an idea of what I was getting into from the photos, but I wish their eggs were fluffy and agreeable l scrambled and not a patty. It's not even a scrambled patty, and I don't like hard yolk so that was a miss for me. On top of that, didn't expect that a jalapeno cheddar bagel would be an upcharge; most places it's a pretty standard flavor. I have consistently received incorrect orders - from the wrong bagel to the wrong cream cheese given. Since I order to-go, I find out once I'm home. It is very difficult to open the paper bag and bagel at the counter to check for accuracy, which I shouldn't even have to do. The place has many younger girls working that do not have good customer service skills. And the time it takes to receive a bagel is very long. Had a busy morning driving to different hospitals for work. While leaving Tri-City Medical Center, I noticed this place in passing. Didn't have any breakfast and I was starving, so I popped by. It's a small shop wedged into the shopping mall where Home Depot is located. There's tons of people coming in and out of the parking lot but thankfully it's located to the right side of the driveway and Home Depot is located on the left so parking does not seem to be a problem. It's also right off the 78, so it's easy to pop in off the freeway or between stops. I had about 25 minutes between stops, so this was perfect to grab a bit and get a cup of coffee on the way. I ordered a breakfast sandwich- it was hot and fresh, with a nice texture on the bagel. I also got a coffee that was just as satisfying as what I'd find at Starbucks. Ughhh they were kinda busy (as in rushing) for me to really try and evaluate. So first, went in on a Wednesday morning around 10. My husband had a physical therapy appointment next door so I thought I'd take my baby girl to get something small there to eat since we just woke up and left.
