Food4Less Great savings and deals that definitely impress! Needed a few things for the holidays, but also to stock up on the everyday and can I just say, F4L came through in lots of unexpected ways including in the frozen, produce and dairy sections, okkkkaaay!! The non-dairy milk was/is abundant from Almond to Coconut, Cashew to Rice, classic Soy and even Pea. Beyond grateful for all the Beyond Meat products at the BEST deal in town. Not to mention MorningStar, Impossible and everything in-between. Great snacks, juices, and so many 2 for 1 specials. We found parking right in front in their parking lot on the corner of Sherman Way/Hayvenhurst Avenue. All the staff was personable, even the security was quite the warm person during our visit. While some produce was low, we still managed to find fresh mushrooms and spinach. Shopping with my family we discovered a great bakery area as well, not mention a holiday cake for my mom, niece and nephews. I discovered cookie dough flavored Oreos and dairy free ice cream for myself. During the holidays and peak hours the parking lot is definitely still a zoo of sorts, but be patient, take your time and you'll get in and out easy. I'm not a frequenter of Food4Less locations with other reasonable places closer to me, but this is the closest location and one I'd recommend in the Lake Balboa area of L.A.'s San Fernando Valley, just off the 405 fwy passed the Van Nuys Airport. Typically open 6AM - 12AM/Midnight every day of the week with some differing/reduced hours on holidays. If you been to any Food4Less you know you self bag your groceries. Their plastic bags are super nice, clear and sturdy with the logo on each side. Good spirit selection, locked up in front. Also great wine and beer options, we definitely grabbed so things for Christmas and New Years. Hoping to return again soon for any and all occasions now that I know I've been sleeping on this grocery gem for a bit. I did frequent the Reseda and Canoga Park locations when I lived on the west side of the valley once upon a time ago, but this is definitely one of the more well put together and kept up locations. read more

I was in store 7:45AM Saturday May 30, 2026. No sale jumbo avocados in store. Produce man said truck comes 11AM. Takes hours to unload truck and restock. 4 people in line each register only 2 open on busy Saturday morning. No offer made to substitute same avocados in bag at sale price. Not going to wait in line for rain check if issued??? Walked out bought nothing. Receipt says "The True Low Price Leader Everyday" What a joke. Calif Yellow Peaches $2.49lb at Food4Less. This is one of the nicest food 4 less I have ever been in! The store is a lot larger than it appears on the outside. Great selection, very clean and helpful staff! The only downside is they don't have a legitimate meat department or bakery like the one in Panorama does, but other than that still a good selection and the employees were very friendly. As I come here often today was disappointing I didn't bring bags today as I would never thing a supermarket like this one would even remotely have no bags or ran out of bags but as I got a lot of stuff today it was disappointing that cashier told me they didn't have bags what am I supposed to do now they should put a sign in front saying no bags today because I would have not gotten so much stuff or not even shop here thinking I'm going have to figure it out on way back home. Your local neighborhood grocery store that packs a punch with all the necessities that you need. Your one stop shop for bits and bops or the whole shebang. Same quality as all the retail chains as well a great prices. Certain products are priced less compared to Ralph's and Albertsons. Just as they could say the same with some of their products. As with all things covid. They also have their stuff together. With it being an employee outside wiping down the carts for you before handing it off. Or the self serve spray and wipe down if no one is outside. The prices are amazing and selections of meats are great. Only downfall, they don't have a butcher counter where you could chose what meat or how much you want. Baker is on hand with fresh baked goods daily. I've been coming to this Food4Less since I moved in the area years ago. The staff are pretty nice and the store is generally clean. Make sure you price match your items within the Food4Less app. I purchased a dozen AA large eggs. The app advertised them as $2.29. In store, same eggs, same UPC were $2.99- that's a 70 cent difference! Got to the register because I thought maybe a mistake on the sign- nope! Rang up as $2.99. Told the cashier there was a price mistake and after looking through his own app, adjusted the price of eggs. Makes me wonder how many people today over paid for eggs and other items :( read more

Came today at 2pm as this used to be my neighborhood grocery store, but I moved. No wait in line, walked right in. Been to 9 stores the past 10 days and no toilet paper. Here they had it and even got a 20 roll of Scot paper for 13.99. They had plenty of fruit veggies, frozen chicken breasts, milk, bread etc. I got everything I needed but ground turkey, and a 5 minute wait in line. I was so happy, instead of going to Ralph's or Gelson's in my neighborhood, I will continue to drive a few miles to continue coming here. Also everything was on sale so extra bonus! Ok....This 2 star review is for the bakery and the bakery only. The store and staff I give 5 stars because I'm here at least twice a week, for the past 10 years, and I've never had an issue. The staff is nice and the prices are reasonable. Again...this 2 star review is for the bakery. If you want food ordered or a cake ordered. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! Last year for my sons birthday party I ordered a box of chicken for his birthday party at home. I believe I ordered maybe 50 pieces of chicken. I ordered it a week early, I walk in on the pick up day and nada, nothing, zip, zilch. They dont have the paperwork and have no clue about the order, I showed the receipt from when I paid a week earlier. I had to sit and wait like 15 mins or something so they can make more then what they already had ready. I was pissed. So come this year I order a cake for my sons party again. I order it a week early and he wanted a Skylander cake. They clearly have the Skylander cake in the book of cakes at the bakery counter area. Frank behind the counter (who was really nice) called the supervisor Marasella (I think that's how you spell it) and asked if they had the toys to put on the cake. He said she said she believed so but she will see whe shes there in 30 mins. I leave and call 30 mins later and they dont have them. I figure I can put his Skylander toys on the cake and she tells me she will make the cake identical as the one in the book minus the toys. I'm annoyed but whatever...I agree. I go get the cake a week later and pick it up from Marsella, and as I'm walking out I notice she didnt put "Happy 10th Birthday" as it was stated on the form I filled out a week prior. I tell her and she says sorry, she can fix it but it will take like 10 mins. I say forget it cause we're running late as is. We get to the party and take it outta the box and it looks like a 11 year old wrote the greeting out. It isnt centered and looks crappy. How do you write a greeting on a cake and NOT notice it isnt centered? Also the bottom left corner is collapsing in and the original cake had grey looking boulders on the bottom and these are white, she even told me from her own mouth "I even did grey rocks at the bottom of the cake" as I picked it up. Maybe shes color blind. I didnt notice all this until I removed it from the box cause I only saw the center of the cake thru the clear plastic over it. This woman is the supervisor and she supposedly did this cake....and shes proud of lying to the customer and she approves this mess of a decorated cake? The plus part is the cake tasted awesome...but appearance was lousy. I know you cut the cake and eat it so maybe appearance isnt important to some, but I want what I ordered and what I was promised for my kids birthday party. It's a discount grocery store, a no-frills Ralphs. They often suffer from not enough cashiers open, but I can't say I've ever been in a rush anyway. Sale items are in stock 90% of the time and when they're not it's usually because I'm there on the final day of the sale. Excellent produce section. Yesterday 12/02/20 afternoon I went to buy some food and also I used the coinstar machine to change some coins into bills , may be my mistake or machine problem I get a "wrong ticket""and couldn't get my money .so I called to coinstar company and they tell me to talk to a manager in the store to fix the problem .. so I found a guy who help me very courtesy and he can't fix the problem .. but at the moment to talk the general manager "sherry" She try to avoid or ignored the problem she couldn't talk to me 5 minutes and explain what I supposed to do Or what's the process in that case,,, Even when I was in the phone the company (coinstar )wants to talk to her by phone and she didn't take the call ,,coinstar call to the store many times and she didn't answer the phone ... Huge Store....If your not familiar with the store....you'll have a hard time finding stuff down all the longgg aisles...cuz it's so spread out. Pretty clean looking inside....Depending on when you go~~ it can be really crowded. I was getting some groceries on Wednesday around lunchtime. Using a shopping cart to get some water and other things. I see two employees socializing at the back near the meat dept. one with a lift to move pallets and another one just standing and leaning in a fridge in the middle of the aisle. They were blocking the aisle and seems indifferent to people moving around them. No consideration for the customer. Act as if we weren't even there. Shouldn't employees have break time in the break room? And not on the main floor blocking foot traffic? At the very least move out of the way so other customers can pass with there shopping carts? Everything here is inexpensive. Employees are never helpful some are rude. Everything is always on stock. Except when I went to the deli to order some potato wedges my order had a piece of metal inside. Don't plan on getting anything from the deli. read more

While shopping, I came across three women in the produce department without masks or gloves, msn handling the produce, eating cherries and spitting the pits to the floor. I yelled at them and let it be known what they were doing was disgusting. No one was at the entrance checking to make sure masks were worn. No one from the store was anywhere to be found at the produce section. I complained to the cashier and doubt anything was done. If you like low, low prices and crazy people watching, this is the store for you! Everything they carry is overstock from your local Ralphs, so what they have in stock is usually substantially cheaper than it would be at a regular supermarket. This includes the little baby sized cakes that you can only get at the Ralph's bakery counters, the ones with the cheap and tasty butter cream frosting and the big pink frosting roses!! Yum!!!!!!! That being said, the people who shop here tend to fall into three general categories: 1. Drug addicted/batsh*t crazy/drunk person buying hot pockets and brown sugar/depends/wine. 2. Average, hardworking folks who want to save a buck and therefore live in my rather, ahem, inexpensive neighborhood. 3. Psycho stalking murderers who cruise the aisles looking for prey. Let me tell you my favorite Food 4 Less story. A month or two ago, I was in the cheese aisle when a fairly normal looking middle aged man walked up to me and asked me if I knew where there was a Ralph's or a Von's. As a result of my many years of retail sales/management, I am completely incapable of brushing off people who ask me stupid questions in public places. I give him detailed directions in the style of an air-traffic controller ("Never EVER point the way to a customer!" I can still see the outrage on my manager's face). The man thanks me and walks away. Thirty seconds later he comes back and asks me another question. Which I answer, politely, all the while hearing my old boss' warnings in my ear. I move a little through the store and oh, look, there is this random guy, now asking me what my name is. I tell him and keep moving. He comes back one more time to get the directions again. At this point, I'm feeling more than a little creeped out, so I give him directions and tell him to have a nice day. I purchase my items and pack my own bags (part of the Food 4 Less model for lower prices) and head out to my car. I get in the car and my sixth sense tells me to lock the door. As I pull my seat belt across my body a face appears to my left. Guess who? Mr. Creepy Man is now standing next to my car, looking eager to talk to me again. Now ready to smash his face in/run him over, I roll my window down a little. "Excuse me, please, but could I possibly give you the littlest kiss on your foot?" And I'm thinking, f#ck f@ck f*ck, damn my adorable tattooed feet. Getting me into sticky situations with fetish freaks again and again!!! Dam nit! "Um, no, my [fictional] boyfriend wouldn't appreciate that!" "Just the tiniest little kiss?" "No, sorry. OK gotta go!" I drive away cringing and thinking that I'll never return to Food 4 Less. Sadly, my urge to eat $3.98 baby cake overcomes my desire to protect the sanctity of my tattooed feet. read more

Everytime I come here, I save a whole lot of $$. They have great selections on produce....meats...condiments... Today I bought couple of items: ~ Pasta noodles - $.88. ~ Frozen chicken breasts in a bag - $5.98. ~ Arrowhead water (2.5 gallon) - $2.98. ~ A gallon of 1% lowfat milk - $3.58. All for under $15. OK, I went to three different Food 4 Less Today. In the morning, I went to Panorama City's Food 4 Less. At 10:30pm, I went to the North Hills location to get gas. They have the best gas prices when the oil demand sucks right now. As I was pumping, I was thinking of buying more oranges for my diet. Either buy it at the current Food 4 Less location I was at or go to the one on Sherman Way.....Yeah, I need the points since I have been away. I arrived at the Van Nuys Airport Food 4 Less around 10:50pm. There were a lot of people shopping here. I felt very safe too since the LAPD were getting groceries as well. When the store is reaching closing hours, they use only one door for security reasons. I was just getting fruits and some veggies and one miscellaneous item. Like most Food 4 Less stores, its almost like an IKEA, but not really...lol. Sounds like a Ryan Stiles moment right there. I saw they had a special on oranges (5lbs for $1). I got a lot of oranges, but they only weighed in at 3.17lbs. WTH?! I got 2.38lbs of Fuji Apples ($0.78/lbs), 2.85lbs of Pears ($0.88/lbs), and 2 heads of cabbage ($0.49/lbs). My one miscellaneous item would be either hummus or something else. I got something you would eat with burritos, pickled carrots with onions ($2.98). My total was $9.29. As I was bagging my stuff, I struck a conversation with an old lady about how a million dollars can get so far in life. Then the cashier joined in...lol. I think I stayed in line longer than I usually do. Very energetic lady. OK, I can mark this Food 4 Less off my list for today. I think I got the Canoga Park one left. Maddening how this store frequently out of stock of store brand items. Seems counterintuitive. Would think they have the most control over store brand inventory, And strong incentive to never be out of stock of store brand merchandise. An example. For the past 5 visit this store out of Kroger brand lightly salted chips. This is the item I have learned to purchase on regular basis. However, given horrendous out of stock situation, will switch to snacks with another brand, another more dependable store. read more

I love this place. I used to live much closer, but I still go out of my way there sometimes for two reasons: They have probably the cheapest alcohol prices of anyplace (legal) that I know of. And, they have GIANT cans of iced tea for like $4, that last me a month or more. *Side note: WHY is iced tea mix so fuckin expensive? Is there some sort of embargo going on I dont know about? Did some super villian buy the world's supply and lock it up in a grain silo someplace?? The fuck! And why is BREAD so expensive too! It's $5 a loaf! Have you ever driven through the midwest? Good store with much better prices on most items compared to Smart n Final (expensive!) or Vons/Pavilions (way expensive!). Comparable to Ralph's, but they have items that Ralph's doesn't have. I will be coming here a lot more often. Fruit and vegetables are less expensive than at Ralph's. read more

Never have been a big fan of the discount look of Food 4 Less because I have become somewhat of a snob in my older years (no I'm not that old so shut up!). The isles are always unkept and the quality of customers is enough to force you to move. I reluctantly came here a few times to buy certain items. Chicken is usually a good price and so is milk. It's Food 4 Less... cheap, processed food at low prices. The only thing worth of not here. They have Harina P.A.N. pre-cooked corn flour which is incredibly hard to find in LA... so yea... these guys are good for that and if you're trying to cook for really cheap. read more

Local Chain Grocer. Great prices on produce, milk and beer. The lines and traffic can be a little chaotic at certain times. Sometimes the crowd is a little sketchy, but hey, this is LA. This place is the place to be if you like places that beat other places prices. I love shopping here, well wait.. .no.. This place is SUPER GHETTO. It has signs in the parking lot saying "No repairing cars, and no gambling" LOL. Other that that I think RACHEL B, said it best. This place is overstock from Ralps, but it is great. I fill my house for about 140 dollars every two weeks. And that is getting good stuff. Quick tip: Soyrizo for .99!!!!!!! Ok, like I said, this place is great for saving money on food.
