    Not worth what they charge

Small portions and high prices.. a half sandwich and small chili was $8.50 . Half sandwich is tiny 3" . walk and extra 500 feet and get a better sandwich and chili at potbellys.

    Today special herb marinated chicken.

This place is overpriced for the quantity and quality of food you get! Today I purchased the special, I asked if I could get extra veggies in place of the rice. I had to buy a side of veggies as extra veggies is clearly less than a regular serving. All of this for over $10.00!

    Hamburger Pizza! Delicious!

Food and ambience are great. My favorite are the tacos. The people are extremely friendly. I'd definitely recommend trying them out.

It's been a while since I wrote my last review of El Barrio, so it's time. We often go to El Barrio…read moreto get fresh fruits and vegetables. They also have a very good meat counter that is reasonably priced. We mainly go there for their Taqueria. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have a taco special. And, while the price has gone up with inflation and higher grocery prices, their special is still a bargain - three tacos and a drink for $6.99. They offer counter service (right next to the meat department), and have about 15 tables (a best guess). Their portions are enormous, so go hungry. This time, we went on a Wednesday, so there was no special... Still, the prices are reasonable. My partner had a couple of tacos (Al Pastor and Carne Asada), and I had the Carnitas dinner. They were out of rice, which was fine - I prefer double beans anyway. The dinner comes with rice and beans (or one double), about a pound of meat, and three hot tortillas served in foil. Neither of us were able to finish our meals and ended up taking a lot home. We did get some meat from their counter while there, along with fresh vegetables for a big salad.

I stopped by El Barrio Fresh Market and decided to try their taco counter. I ordered three items: a…read morechicharrón taco, a steak taco, and a chile relleno for about $13 total. The tacos were generously topped with fresh cilantro and onions, and the salsa had a really good flavor. The chicharrón taco was decent, although it was served only mildly warm rather than piping hot. The steak taco had good flavor but was a bit dry. I took the chile relleno home and ate it later. While it was filling, I noticed it wasn't prepared with the traditional cheese I typically expect in a chile relleno, which was a little disappointing. Overall, the food was okay for the price and the portions were fair. The salsa was probably my favorite part of the meal. While I wasn't blown away and probably wouldn't go out of my way to return specifically for the tacos, it could be a convenient option if you're already shopping at the market and looking for a quick bite.
