Fresh poke here that's soo good. Recently visited the island and came here in the morning for poke and it did not disappoint. Fresh colorful array of fresh poke!! We got a carton of pog also that was delicious. Great market to shop and close to our hotel.

Okay, I understand we're on an island and all, but I can't be the only one who thinks the prices here are ridiculous, right? Especially when the fruits and veggies don't look 100% fresh. Most of the grocery stores are a drive away, so it seems to me that Foodland takes advantage of being close. If I stayed here longterm, I would prefer making the drive to the southside of the island to guarantee better quality of food than what I could see here. Didn't try the poke as it didn't look impressive to me and I had no idea how long it's been sitting there so I didn't want to chance it. Staff wasn't the nicest and I got looks of annoyance when I would talk to them. On the bright side, even though it cost me over $20 (which is insane for the size), I found the cutest little insulated bottle for my niece.

The spam musubi spam slice was a little thin on the Aloha spirit. Must be a corporate thing. Gotta get the ratio right if you gonna be serving these in Kauai. Still good though.

Always the best poke! We took our ahi and salmon poke to go and stopped by lapperts next door. They had picnic benches out front to enjoy our treats in the sunshine.

Poke here is the worst I've ever had at foodland. Maybe it was an off day, but I have never been disappointed like I was here. Locations on Big Island, Maui and Oahu always scratch the poke itch. This one wasn't great. Flavor and texture were mediocre. Was a little too salty.

This grocery store supplies locals and visitors alike with wholesome foods generally of Asian origin. The food selection includes Spam Musubi, sushi and hot foods too.

This is definitely the place to get groceries when visiting the area. They had a great variety of poke and also local items. We stocked up on cold brew and coconut water most days. The employees were friendly and signed us up with our phone number so we could get the advertised discounts! They basically had everything you could want!

Try not to buy everything! The poki prices are actually a relief in Comparison to the price of EVERYTHING else. Princeville is surely the very... fancy area, so having a market here was a nice break. And as with all stores in Hawaii, remember your reusable bags! Also, there is a shave ice place right next door

Were sent here by a local. Had some of their ahi poke, not too bad. Get the local ahi, not the previously frozen one.

I visited Safeway in Kapaʻa, Kauaʻi, Hawaii [4-831 Kuhio Hwy] on Thursday, 01/22/26 around 11:30…read moreAM. This location offered a wide variety of food options, including ready-made meals, hot foods, deli selections, and more, making it a convenient stop for quick bites or grocery shopping. What stood out most was the handcrafted sushi selection from Zenshi. There was an impressive variety of rolls to choose from, including California Rolls, Spicy California Rolls, Crunchy Rolls, Rainbow Rolls, Crunchy Shrimp Tempura Rolls, and Seaside Combos. They also offered additional items like Summer Rolls, Big Wave Poke Bowls, Spam Norimaki, and Calamari Salad, which added to the overall selection. I decided to try two Rainbow Rolls. The quality of the sushi was decent; not bad, but not particularly outstanding either. The taste was tolerable enough, especially considering the fairly reasonable price point. Overall, Safeway provides standard food offerings for customers and gets the job done. Clean grocery store and well-stocked along with plenty of parking and friendly associates.

Prices were a little higher than at home but it is Kauai. When looking for some fresh fish we couldn't find any Ono or Mahi Mahi but there was a large selection of Poke. We also looked for some fresh pineapple and mango but couldn't find any. Surprised since we were in Hawaii. They had a good selection of wines and spirits.

It was our last day in Kauai, and didn't want to spend our time at the airport, waiting for our…read moreredeye flight. So decided to go to Costco to see if their optical department could tighten my Costco glasses before heading back to the mainland. The optical department closes earlier than the store itself, so we ended up wandering around. We intentionally went there on the last day after our luggage had been packed, thinking it would prevent us from buying things to bring back. But there were two things that we don't see on the mainland, that were of good price: 1.5 Coffee beans from Molokai Estate Coffee (100% from Molokai, and which my wife confirmed later was very good) and a Ube cream Liquor from the Philippines, that went great with the said coffee. Both fit in our checked bags and made it home safe. It wasn't too crowded because it was close to closing and was of large size, including self checkout lanes. Another good visit to Costco.

We arrived late in the day, so we missed out on the fresh poke and other seafood goodies. At least were able to grab some bottled water, Taro Brand Salmon Lomi, and chips. Those items alone were worth grabbing, and lasted us the entire week. My admiration for this location is because it wasn't as crowded as the Honolulu locations. Or maybe we just arrived at a good time late in the day on a Monday. Here, we were able to navigate through easily and select various treats for gifting. Like Mauna Loa chocolate macadamia nuts, a variety of Hawaiian Host items, and I tripped out seeing these bell pepper crisp and a ramen crunch snacks. We bought two bags of furikake and shoyu flavored rice crackers, or arare. In the bakery, I died and really wanted to try this fresh baked Mayorca Suprema sweet roll. Check out my pic, you'll be droolin'! And you can't leave the store without buying a bag of Island Princess Macadamia Popcorn Crunch or their honey roasted macadamia nuts. We did see cheap, but made of decent quality rain jackets if you need one ($19). As well as some bargain deals on casual shoes and sandals. No problem upon check out, service was cordial. And oh yeah, their outside food court is the standard. Hot dog and a drink $1.50, chicken bake, and a slice of pizza. Sadly, nothing different. No issues finding parking either. In short, this Costco location has a wide variety of items not found on the mainland. Great gift items as well as supplies you'll need for your resort stay. I mean, you can go to the Island Market or ABC Store, but that's where it can start to get pricey. Just my thoughts and my words. To each his own!
