After more searching, they finally found it -- but they also tried to give me someone else's order at the same time. I had to explain that I only had one prescription and asked them to verify it using my phone number, not just my last name. The entire experience was very unprofessional, disorganized, and frustrating. On top of that, the drive-thru wait was over 20 minutes. For something as important as prescriptions, accuracy and communication should be a priority. This pharmacy seriously needs to improve its customer service and organization.

I would get groceries just to get paper bags sometimes to change my catliter. So these paper bags had handles and could safely hold groceries carried home often in Carl the fog or straight up rain, and THEN hold 10-15 pounds of soiled cat litter and poop down 3 flights of stairs without so much as tearing, let alone becoming completely structurally unsound. This is my grocery bag upon being picked up once. Once. You can't tell me it's not purposeful that these bags are garbage. It's bad enough Safeway gouges us on grocery prices, but to then disrespect the groceries we do but from them by making sure they drop on the floor immediately because of this shameful excuse for a paper bag. It's unreasonable. Completely unreasonable. This bag has English muffins, a piece of salmon and ladies hygiene pads. Almost no weight, and it tore upon being touched by a human. Safeway is a huge grocery chain . . . Do better.

This Food Max sucks! Every time I go in here and it does not matter what time of the day it is. There is always long lines. There can be 2 checkers and 20 people in each line waiting. Of course they have a self check. The checkers are cool but the management sucks. They need to have more checkers to kill the lines....Nobody wants to stand in line for over 30 - 45 mins. Your lucky to have a job that let's you do this because where I work you would be looking for a new job if you had this many customers waiting in line. There is an old saying "3 is a crowed" When you have this many people in line you should have at least 4 - 5 registers open not 2 Here is one thing I do not understand! Grocery Stores let all these charity people stand by their door outside asking for donations but they run off the Homeless guy asking for spare change! Why because he smells and is going to buy booze with it? What is the difference? Just because you have a job, a car, and your a tax paying citizen does not mean your any better than he is. The reason why the food is so cheap is because they put old about to expire food and boy do they mishandle the heck of the food they have roaches and rats if you look under the shelves you can see rat traps Im a former employee btw this store is run by a pedophile he made advances towards a former coworker she was barely 17 and is currently making advances towards a new employee and cheating on his wife with said employee and caused an employee to have a nervous breakdown in front of everyone and didn't apologize instead he walked away and he's racist btw don't go if your hispanic because he'll call you a resident of little Mexico and he also let a toxic employee keep their job while she made two other employees quit anyways just do not go here it's bad news read more

I have been a customer for over 18yrs; it's the lower prices that keep me coming back. Having said this, this store is dying - it's not their fault. The store is located near an alameda county subsidy apartment complex; many of these people are fresh out of prison / mentally ill or on a drug program. Because of its close location, they frequent this store. I seen have fights / people stealing / people cutting in line and my favorite. People eating food (with a spoon in Hand) and chucking the wrappers in the shelves. This is now a safety issue for anyone coming to this store, if you come at night be very careful and always keep an eye out... It's a shame for the staff and the good people that shop here. read more

Way cheaper than Lucky's and Safeway. It has a wide variety of fresh produce and canned goods. Whenever I need assistance or have any questions the personnel working their are always willing to assist, whether that is getting noodles down from top of the shelfs where the pallets are in order to restock them for me on the lower shelfs. Really great place that also has liquor for sale, (I don't drink) its usually priced lower than the connivence or liquor stores. Just a heads up every foodmaxx has a different floor plan or layout in terms of where the items are located. read more

Pretty cheap groceries (we went into Longs to pick up a few personal health things like tooth paste, mouth wash etc. and it came out to 75 freaking bucks!!! We can get those AND groceries for around 100 - 150 bucks.Defiantly a good deal. One issue I have with them is they always seem to be out of the foods I want when I get there.That might be my fault though as I always go on a certain day (not sure when they stock up) read more

It has great prices- some things much more than others, it's clean, and 99% of the time we have a super fast checkout experience. I go to Safeway or Lucky's occasionally to grab a few things and am always shocked by the prices because I'm so used to shopping here. Years ago, when I suggested to my husband that he check this place out he was super hesitant. But after one trip he fell in love and is hooked. Not everything is a great deal, but just about everything I buy on a regular basis is much cheaper than other stores. And no, everything you buy here is NOT expired or about to expire. There are some random items they get that are close to expiration, but generally most items still have a long shelf life. We love this store because it has the best produce quality and selection of all the GO's in the area. It's also less crowded. I've shopped here at all times of the day and on different days and never had to wait more than a few minutes to check out. I'm a vegetarian and they often have a great selection of plant-based meats way cheaper than a regular grocery store. Almond milk is also a great deal here. I often find new products that I love for steep discounts. Random items like these are usually only available for 1 or 2 weeks, so I stock up. They do have some off-brands, but many items are name brand. I still occasionally go to a regular store for specialty items, but I can usually find just about everything I need here on a regular basis, and I cook most of my meals all week. They have a large parking lot, so parking is never a problem. Download the app for coupons. I've gotten $5 off every week for the last month.

I often feel the bigger names like Chavez Market and Arteagas are too big and popular for me. This one is very low key and serves the immediate neighborhood. It's about double the size of a 7-11 for reference but I can find most things I want/need for my Hispanic kitchen staples for a price that doesn't gouge me in these bumpy economic times. I like their clean and well stocked produce section, their spice and dried chili racks, chicharone galore and a cool meat section where you have to order from a legit butcher at prices much lower than any American grocery store. Whenever I'm gonna throwdown some enchiladas, posole, caldo de res or a backyard taco fest, I'm usually getting my start here. Trust.

You see US Foods is one of the big wholesale food distributers that restaurants big and small use. They will deliver big loads of goods whether food or supplies right to the restaurant, usually on pay terms so no cash is handled. And for busy restaurants this is a must, as they constantly need raw goods coming in weekly if not daily. This is the first time I saw a 'US Foods' store. I think they took over something else. But it is a big store/space where almost everything is in bulk and/or wholesale form. For the home cook there is really nothing here that would fit their needs/kitchen unless you like to buy in bulk. 20 - 50 pound bags of beans, sugar or flour is usually just too much for an average Joe to carry to the car, let alone store in a home pantry. But if you like to entertain/cook for a large group like a big birthday, a bbq outing or big holiday get-togethers, then this place may serve you a purpose. I browsed one day and got a good feel for the place and here are my observations. If you go into the fresh produce area or the meat/dairy areas, you will have to go into a refrigerated room. The whole room is about 35 degrees so if you go in there in shorts and/or a t-shirt, then you will not be able to stay in there for too long. Produce not really extensive but you will be able to find some basics. Some things are in cases/big bags but not everything. Actually lots of things in smaller packaging like 2-3 pounds which is doable for a home fridge/usage. I'd say the offerings here are somewhat similar to what you could get at Costco. Meats are a mixed bag. Lots of processed meats like deli meat in whole form. Lots of cheese too but much too bulky for a home fridge. There are pork and beef but all in big/whole chunks. Nothing will be cut into steaks. Big packs too like minimum 10 pounds or more. But if you're cooking for a big group, you're gonna need a minimum of 10 pounds so this may be a draw for me. The bad is for the beef selection, even though the pricing did seem good, there is no 'choice' grade. They use 'select' grade here, which is a notch down from choice. But if you're just braising or slow cooking then this grade would be just fine. Costco only serves 'choice' grade or higher so theirs is more premium. Pork is fine here, I got some pork tenderloin in 2 packs, which is one of the smallest packages I saw, ideal for home usage. Good selection of restaurant ware. Pots, utensils and storage containers. This is a big draw for me as I love restaurant quality storage containers. They are sturdy, with tight lids and many are stackable. These are even hard to find at Costco and Smart and Final. On a weekday morning there is zero traffic here, complete opposite of Costco. Now this is more geared towards restaurants, but knowing if I can get something here or Costco, I will choose this, as the parking and ease to get in and out is an amazing asset to me. I was gonna give them 3 stars for not really being friendly for home usage but given those certain occasions where I'm cooking for 10 or more people, then this place will get a heavy consideration. And drum roll please******no membership card needed. Open to the public. **cymbal crash**

Or go when it's not peak times which is probably like weekdays not during lunch.
