This place is very dirty and does not have enough cashiers. I be waiting in line for at least 30 minutes and sometimes EVEN MORE!!!

Cheap prices on groceries. If you live in the area and you need to stock up on Cheetos and Coke, then you should go there. Some good produce for cheap also. I like this store. A lot of crap, like 700 kinds of margarine...but some good stuff also, you just have to look around. For example, they had Tilapia fish there and it was really overpriced. But they also had all kinds of hot sauces for dirt cheap and patis (fish sauce) for cheap also. When I saw the price on the tilapia I was pretty shocked because everything else there is so cheap. Good place to buy canned foods. They have fresh french bread also. It's kinda ghetto but they have so many super deals you have to go there. Don't go in the middle of the night, even though I think they are open 24 hours a day. Doesn't feel that safe at night and I heard some bad stories. I remember a few years ago they had a few stripped cars in the parking lot, stripped down to the bone. Way to do your job FoodMaxx security. People might seem that it's ridiculous to shop at midnight and I agree but yesterday I needed some feminine hygiene products it was an emergency and I get it I should've been more prepared but it's life things happen so I went to the closest grocery store because that was the only place that was open during that time and boy did I make the biggest mistake by going there only one checker open lines were ridiculously long when we were calling the manager there was no one to be found overly heard from the cashier that he was hiding in the office because he didn't want to deal with the customer poor cashier was trying to get everyone out we'll see it for your self and oh yeah take a look at their restrooms too so much cleanness for a food place horrible management just horrible Food Maxx is really going down the gutter read more

If you want to shop at a place with great customer service...LOOK ELSEWHERE! Tonight was absolutely horrible. I went shopping with the hubby (who hates to grocery shop) for some juice and bread. Had some coupons and had a cashier who had no clue what to do. Then had another cashier who accused me of trying to cheat the store. REALLY???? Me? Waste my time trying to cheat you out of about $8 by using legitimate coupons? Accusations, ignorance, rudeness, and the lack of good customer service was unbelievable! So I was on my way to a www.Grillaxin.com gig and I was in need of charcoal. I walked in and grabbed a two pack of Kingsfords Charcoal (22 lbs each) for $13.58! That's $4 cheaper than Costco AND I got 6 extra pounds from what I would normally get (Costco charcoal is sold in the 18.9lb bags) for a cheaper price! Score! Maybe I was a little harsh with my last review and forgot about the time when I was in a rush and somehow misplaced my keys when I put the groceries in my car. A really nice young man helped me look for them and even checked all the carts that he took back to see if I had somehow dropped them in there. I was starting to freak out when I think the Manager on duty came and helped me search the bags of groceries to see if I had somehow overlooked them in my panic. And sure enough, I did! She found my keys and I was able to drive home and go on with my day. This place isn't all that bad. The employees are always friendly. Sure they have long lines and maybe their fruit isn't the freshest lol. You get what you pay for, I suppose. Usually it's good service but lately the cashiers have been super rude. Specifically a cashier named Gina. My mom forgot her card in the car and only because we told her that we needed to get it, she shoved the cart we had out of the line and kicked the sodas that we had. Always crowded. Busy parking lot. Annoying setup. Ever hear that Felipe Esparza bit about Food 4 Less? "I'm not a tough guy, but I can beat up everyone at Trader Joe's. But at Food-for-Less I shut the **ck up. They don't have aisles, they have alleys." Thats how I feel about this FoodMaxx. This is the grocery store I go to only if I absolutely have to, which is pretty much only when everything else is closed. They have all the basics, not much extra. The parking lot is always a mess, cars everywhere because there are not nearly enough spots for all of the shops/restaurants in the same center. It's pretty ghetto. Theres always kids running around all over the store. I have never gone in and not had to spend at least 10-15 minutes in line. When you walk in, you can't just go to the section that you want, you have to literally walk all the way around the entire store to get there. Whenever you leave, there's somebody rudely asking you for change. Yes, I'll be back. But I won't like it. read more

You cannot beat the prices at Food Maxx! Period. They have a pretty decent selection of grocery items at about 1/2 the price of places such as Safeway and Lucky's. I will agree w/ a lot of reviewers, the negatives can be long lines because it does seem they keep having fewer cashiers during the busy times. The parking lot can get crowded during the day, especially on the weekends. I try to go in anywhere between 6am - 7am and I don't have too many issues w/ lines or checking out. The only problem can be they're restocking all the shelves in the early morning, so it can be difficult to maneuver the aisle. I've gone to the other two local Food Maxxs and I just like the way this one is set up. The aisles are easy to go up and down in and everything seems to be in a rightful place so you don't have to guess where stuff is. My suggestions to management are: - They should make sure to have 2 cashiers in the early morning hours because sometimes having the express lane open for everybody in the morning doesn't work. - Try to get better produce. Sometimes the produce isn't the best, but again, you can't beat the price. I really like this place. read more

Great variety of "super market" stuff. BUT the service is horrible !!! They only have 1 or 2 lines open during PRIMETIME. Everyone is getting off work and picking up a few groceries for dinner and they have to wait in the same line as people who are shopping for the YEAR! They have self checkout BUT they close it at around 730pm so now they only have 1 line open for everyone!!! And the employees who are on the line are rude and talking to the cashier next to them talking about their breaks or when they are off. After standing in line for what it felt like 10 minutes the cashier told me she was closing and I had to stand in a different line. At that moment I was ready to leave the cash on the table and just walk out with the milk I had in my hand. Honestly if I can go to another supermarket i would, but food max is the ONLY supermarket on this side of hayward, which is definitely a downfall. If the manager reads this: Definitely IMPROVE customer service and hire more. NOT EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE STOCKING THE FULL SHELVES. read more

Crazy long lines! Drive to Target instead of this if you're in the area. This shares the same lot with Taco Bell, McDonalds, a liquor store, and other services that make the area constantly subjected to a high volume of traffic. The experience inside is stressful, unorganized, and there never seems to be a decent worker there. It's sad that this location is the most convenient but the atmosphere is too unpleasant to give a better rating. Sidenotes: they lock the store earlier than 1 on multiple occasions. kids and beggars are in the parking lot that will come up to your face so please keep items out of plain view and lock your doors. beware of expiration dates-a lot of items tend to be closer to that date than not. read more

This is a poorer FoodMaxx, crowded, less cared for, they fear the use of the electric chair carts. The frozen food often seems it's been defrosted & refrozen. I purchased a $50 iTunes card took it home, peeled off the code and the bar code came off. "Sorry you have to contact Apple, we don't do refunds on cards". Took me 6 weeks! Prices are affordable. Lines are always long though. They have Body Armor drinks ( Stop drinking Gatorade ) 10/$10. It's worth the hassle of the long lines but if you're looking for a specific brand, try Safeway or Lucky's, they might not have it. read more

Sigh....this is my local grocery store and I just wish they would do better. The prices are right and the checkers are usually very friendly towards me but i rarely have an uneventful experience coming here. The lines are through the aisles. Even self-checkout has taken me 30 minutes! the parking lot has a lot going on. The set up of the store forcing you to walk around the entire store even if you want to purchase one thing is very frustrating for me. Im not sure if/how this can change but until then I will be avoiding this store and heading elsewhere to shop for groceries. read more

I go here only for the prices because FoodMaxx definitely has the best prices out of a lot of grocery stores. Also the place is pretty clean and well kept and organized. Nothing really more to say than that. Only issue is the staff and customer service. Maybe have the men in the meat department train her on customer service. They are friendly and always happy to help. Management should really not let her work with customers.
