    Affordable, fresh produce and meats

I love this grocery store. It has everything ever with the best deals. Very big place so if you can't find what you need here, I'd be extremely surprised. Stocked up on the essentials and some meals I wanted to cook. The cashier was lovely and hella fast even when checking out the vegetables and fruits--most take forever to find whatever code tells you what price to charge. Just go early or during the work week to avoid the traffic jam and long lines!

Not a big selection of groceries. Savings aren't significant. Fruits and vegetables are cheaper. We need a Winco out here!

I have shopped here for many years being that it is my neighborhood grocery store. Never have I ever encountered a situation where I have been accused of stealing, especially with someone standing right in front of me. During my scanning of items, I decided not to bag certain things being that they do not need bag therefore, a young gentleman he did the check did the scan, and he went on about supporting another customer because the person that was supposed to stand at the registers, she walked away to ring up someone else on a different register Upon her return she asked me was I going to scan the items that were left in my cart and I informed her these items were very much so already taken care of. She told me she did not believe me and requested to see my receipt and being that I had nothing to hide. I showed her and she tells me the top three items on my receipt were not on my receipt as if I did not scan them. If I did not scan them how are they on my receipt? I'm not understanding I then made multiple calls to the store to file a complaint being that that was a horrible interaction. It was disrespectful. It was rude. It was unorthodox considering you're standing right there. I shop in the store almost every day spend hundreds of dollars each week. I am disappointed. I really hope that the manager takes things seriously regarding matters like this. People make hard earned money to go shopping for their families, and they are accused of stealing it baffles me to accuse someone of something when the evidence suggest otherwise and then you act as though you don't see those evidence. On this trip alone at self check out I spent $94.48 just for me to be humiliated and disrespected !

They do carry certain items that I can't always find elsewhere, which is a plus. That said, the prices are definitely on the high side, and the fresh produce selection is pretty limited. I also rarely ask employees where things are because most of the workers seem to be concentrated near the front of the store. Starbucks also closes too early, which is disappointing when you're there later in the day. The biggest issue for me is the parking design--it's awkward and frustrating to navigate. Overall, it's convenient for picking up a few essentials, but I wouldn't consider it my go-to store for a full grocery trip.

The cake was advertised as tres leches, but it was incredibly dry. Instead of being moist and soaked with milk, the sponge was dry and crumbly. Most of my family took only a bite or two and didn't want to eat the rest. To make matters worse, we found what appeared to be a small bug inside one of the slices. That immediately ruined everyone's appetite, and the cake ended up being thrown away. We paid $29.99 for this cake and expected it to be fresh, especially since it was purchased several days before the "Best If Used By" date. Serving this at a birthday celebration was embarrassing. I hope Safeway takes bakery quality control more seriously because this experience was unacceptable.

I asked him where the dry ice was, and he was incredibly kind, polite, and helpful. To be realistic, they put codes on the restrooms so homeless people don't use it regularly to use the sink as a shower. I get that everyone has to use the restroom. But they'd prefer if a homeless person asks a store associate and they judge their sanity/need for help etc. If you're reading this, you likely have a phone/computer (not to say a homeless person wouldn't have a phone), and can make use of the restroom code. I had to type this out because Yelp no longer has a "tips" section where I can just post a 1 liner. I have to hit the minimum words/characters to post. In other news: Lucky has been on fire lately with their deals, especially for July. Their $1.99/lb cherries, been eating them like there's no tomorrow.

Safeway tied up the building they were occupying so no new supermarket could take over the property. On the plus side, it has opened the area for smaller markets like this one to serve the people of Rodeo. This store reminds me of the stores my mom shopped at before a supermarket moved in our neighborhood.
