I come to here for lunch like twice a month as it was close to work. They have a selection of different food and a rotating menu so it keep things interesting. The people there are nice. I have to post this one for warn everyone, don't get that veal whatever fried one though. That one is terrible. You can see and tell by the picture. The shell is completely separated from that not taste too great extremely lean veal. That "potato chips" is like nuclear fried. For that price and healthy scale, I'd rather go McDonald's and get a breakfast meal. read more

Foodwares Market you can say it is located in a perfect location by the subway entrance and exit.. but if you never take the subway, you would never know that it exist! It is located on the lower level of the The Bay. It reminds me of a cafeteria that one can get something quick but here what one can get are gourmet food! Thinks fancy Panini, Artisan Bread, Espresso drinks..... There are also Gelato, sweet, marcons and biscotti to go with your coffee! Plenty of seatings, great place to come for a quick lunch or just hang with your friends. Walked past this place so many times, but never really went in until recently. They're basically an all inclusive, posh food court for the Bay. They have various stations with all kinds of foods - sushi, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, indian food, sweets. You name it, they probably can serve it to you. A lot of the foods are made to order in front of you, which is pretty nice. At the pasta station, you can assemble your own pasta with a variety of sauces, meats, and veggies, and they'll saute the entire thing in front of you. Sushi is rolled in front of you, and burgers assembled as well. Things are all priced similarly ($9-$11) but there are definitely some things that give you more bang for your buck. The pasta is pretty good, and are all priced the same (or very similarly) even though some of them have more/better ingredients than others (seafood vs plain carbonara). You can get a massive (massive!!) hunk of meat in a philly cheese steak for the same price as a bowl of rice and curry, so it's pretty obvious that they're making more money on some things than others. There's a nice seating area in the back. Gets very crowded since it's popular with bussinesspeople on their lunch break. read more

2019-05-08: Had the Fish and Chips for lunch, for $12.29. It comes with 2 fillet pieces of Haddock, Fries, and Tartar sauce packets. The fillets were pre-made frozen; they simply took them from their freezer and fried when I ordered. The fillets had a thin but crispy batter coating. But pleasantly, the Haddock fillets were thicker than average. If you like more fish in your bites, you'll like these fillets. The fries were average-cut thickness, crispy and not greasy. I would say hidden in the Hudson Bay store on the path to Eaton Centre is a small canteen that offers dishes that would preside in actually a cafeteria more or less. Price range can be about $15 on average but the food quality is less greasy than what you would get from a food court from a mall or plaza. What I like here is probably because it is somewhat hidden, there is not an overcrowd of people here that it is a struggle to get seats. Also that it is not too loud, you can actually have a conversation with the person you're sitting with. Seating is quite comfortable for the most part but I suppose you cannot expect much for it being a canteen style. Overall I would come back to visit again as their menu options change on a daily basis I would presume. read more

I've visited on and off, and it's a fine option for lunch if you work in the area or if you want an alternative to the usual food court fare in the Eaton Centre and the PATH. On my most recent visit, I ordered The Moroccan Salad from the salad bar - it was fine, nothing too special, though the ingredients were clearly very fresh. I've had their pizzas in the past, which was significantly better taste-wise and a lot more satisfying. Their hot food section is definitely better/tastier than their salad bar. Overall, a decent option for a quick bite downtown, in the vicinity of the PATH (so you don't have to walk outside), and not too far from the heart of Eaton Centre (if you're looking for an option beyond the usual, standard food court meal). I also think you get good value since its slightly above fast food prices (in the area) for gourmet food. This time I had the pulled pork sandwich which was loaded with tons if pulled pork, jicama slaw and hickory onion rings. The sauce also had a good level of heat to it. The onion rings surprisingly stayed crispy even though it was drenched in sauce. This sandwich was mammoth in size!! It is located at the basement of the Bay in the downtown core. You will be surprise by what it offers. It is separated into many different counters. One is the burger counter that serves steak, regular or veggie burger. It can come with a combo that includes fries or coleslaw. It is served nicely on a porcelain plate. Drinks is not included. The steak burger is very tender and moist. The veggie burger is really veggie. Unlike other restaurant you can still visualize the veggie burger to be beef, here you can see the veggie. The fish and chips is fresh and the fried oil adds a boost in fat enhancing the taste. The chicken pie that should not be missed is a full size pie that chicken dices can be found and not salty at all. The other counter is the pasta counter that you can choose your own Fettuccine, Fusilli, Penne or Lumache, then the sauce tomato based or cream based and the toppings that can be veggie, sausages and others. The chef will cook in front of you. The end result is amazing and comparable to any restaurants around. The entrée counter has different selections on different days. I tried turkey, ham, beef stew and they all are good. Meat is soft, tender and juicy. The sushi counter I have not yet have a chance to try yet. So no comment. So is the Panini sandwiches There are drinks that you can pick your own or if you like soup, there are 3 or 4 different ones to choose from. After all your selections, you can go to the cashier to pay and direct to the seating area. Remember to get your stainless steel cutlery or if you want - plastic ones. I must admit I've stopped by FoodWares more than a few times in the past two months i've been working downtown. Can't help it since I have to pass through lower level of the Bay on the way to work every morning and I'm a sucker for bakery goods. The muffins, croissants and such appear to baked fresh every morning. So far I've tried various muffins, almond croissant, pain au lait and veggie panini. Nothing bad to say about their muffins. They taste good even in the afternoon. The almond croissant was yummyyy, crispy on the outside. They are quite generous with their so-so almond filling, I think a little too generous.. I actually took some out because I felt like it was too much. I would give the pain au lait a pass next time. It was pretty dry. Their veggie panini was really good and it comes with a little tiny soup. It costs 11 bucks though and you can find cheaper panini options in the Path. They do have a good selection of breads to choose from though. In addition, they have soups, random pastas, sandwiches in their open fridge area and a dessert counter. read more

I have been a fan of this place for years. Coconut curry soup with chicken is my latest obsession. The largest size is 5.95 all in. Their sushi is expensive but they have some interesting combinations with pomegranate and brown rice. Kaleifornia rolls are a healthy option too. I have enjoyed going here for four years since I started working in the downtown core. Ever since the Pusateri's Food Hall opened, however, their service and food quality has deteriorated. Today was the ultimate disappointment. I love the Pesto Chicken pasta and today, for the first time, I was the ONLY customer, and the woman overcooked my pasta to the point of it being mush. The sauces taste off and they've changed the bread and it's routinely over-toasted now to the point of me wondering if it's stale and this is their way of getting rid of it. I felt bad for the Foodwares Market as I've seen the people flock to the Pusateri's Food Hall instead, but today, for the first time, I saw why. Worst food court you can ever go to. Variety is minimal, prices are only decent for certain items but taste in product is far from a Hudson Bay Standard. Hudson Bay prides themselves in high quality customer service and standards.. but to have such a food court below is definitely bringing them down. First off, the staff there is incompetent... not only do they talk back to you but will argue with you when they know they are not providing the best customer service. The employees here seem to be scared of their managers and will not do substitutions to certain items on their menu. Every time we want to take something out or sub it with something else, the employee will either ignore you or say "i am not allowed to do that (stares around to see if their manager is around)" Next, their food.. is either overly salty or taste old and bland. I've had coworkers come back with moldy banana bread from food ware and all they got from food ware was a "ok". Unacceptable. Will never return to foodware... better off going to pusateri and having fresh items from there... read more

This is always a nice stop when shopping at the Bay or the Eaton Centre. It's quieter than most of the mall places but also a little bit on the pricier side for the food they serve. The setting is beautifully decorated though most of the seats are either communal benches at long tables or raised seats at higher tables. There is a good array of coffees, teas, cold drinks, desserts, sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. The croissants and danishes are quite nice -- flaky and buttery and fresh -- as well as the cakes and desserts. Some of the desserts are on the pricier side, so I would suggest choosing carefully. Hit or miss with this place. I've tried a few things and I've had the chicken souvlaki twice. The first time, meh but the second time was AMAZING. One of the best that I've had in a while. The chicken was moist, the salad vibrant and the rice was amazing. I even sent them a note because I loved it so much. I will try it again just to see if it is consistent or just a fluke.
