Of course you can't go wrong with a crab pot but it was seasoned very well. My husband ordered the stuffed fish - it was pretty good. The martinis could really use an update. They are all like blue or green - made with some pretty bad flavored syrups. The manager Liam ended up making me a cucumber martini personally and it was one of the best martinis I've had. 2017: The food was generous & very good. They split the Swordfish into two plates & divided the single serving. We usually share entrees & they split the salad for us also. We also had Frog Legs as an appetizer and a Spinach Salad with Bacon, Walnuts, Cranberries and Raspberry Vinaigrette. The meal was awesome. We will definitely go back again. Went here on a Sunday afternoon and waited about 10 to 15 minutes to be seated, even though there were a lot of empty clean tables inside and on the deck. The service was fast and friendly. The sweet tea was good, not great, but good. The lunchtime menu is limited and we didn't realize that you couldn't get a boil if you came for lunch. We ordered 2 shrimp baskets, a crab cake sandwich and fried pickles for an appetizer. The fried pickles really aren't my thing, but I tried them, they were lightly battered and had a good flavor. Our order came fairly quickly after we finished our appetizer. The shrimp was very good, lightly battered and very fresh. The fries could have been a little crunchier, but all in all, pretty good. The crab cake sandwich was fresh and full of flavor. The prices were a little high for a lunch menu with the smaller portions. Also a PSA, the parking lot is very tight when you are backing out. It is one way in and one way out and you park at an angle. We sat on the deck and the views were "ok" but nothing like insanely amazing. Now to the best part - the food was disgusting. $30 for the salmon dinner which consisted of not cooked asparagus, dry "scooped" mashed potatoes (why is my mashed potatoes in the shape of a lunch lady scooper?) unseasoned salmon that required me to put salt on multiple times. The second entree of my friend was the $40 crab cake entree. The crab cakes were legit burnt on the bottom and not one SINGLE piece of visually available crab to me seen. Just stringy, filler VFW-style crab cakes. More of the uncooked, stringy asparagus and another fun "lunch lady" scoop of dry, bland white rice. $40!?!? The ONLY thing palatable of this dinner was the spinach side salad. In total for two lame entrees and a side salad and water our total PRE-TIP was $86!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus the hour long wait!!!!! After 15 min at our table, the server came by and told us it would be another 10-15 before she took our drink order. They were short staffed and she was doing her best. Well it was a beautiful view. The parking lot is not ideal especially for larger vehicles. We called ahead and got a reservation, I would suggest doing this if possible. The fried flounder was good. We had a key lime pie for dessert and really enjoyed that. Our server was great even though they were slammed and short staffed. I think if you stick with the fried food, salads and sandwiches you will be eating a lot quicker than if you order something different. We will probably visit again. read more

Was there for lunch yesterday, and our fried green tomatoes and fried flounder entrees were delicious as always. However, the service was just terrible. It took our waitress 20 minutes to come to our table to greet us and take our drinks order. When she returned, we ordered the appetizer and our entrees. It took a good 20 min for the tomatoes to arrive, and then another 20 min for our entrees to come out. We had finished our plates for quite a while before the waitress came to the table to remove our plates. She never checked to see if everything was good and/or if we needed beverage refills/reorder. Really loved it here. I was with my son and family on Fripp Island for Thanksgiving. He and family had eaten here before several years ago. Food was great. We ordered hot oil fried dill pickles. My wife had fried shrimp with French fries. I had the, if I recall correctly, the voodoo mess. A scrambled egg dish with chunks of sausage, onions and peppers and it came with home fries. Everything was very good, although the mimosas probably improved our mood considerably. We went to Foolish Frog for a late lunch yesterday when we were on the way home from Hunting Island State Park. We were looking for a dog-friendly, casual restaurant with fried seafood. We were seated quickly at an outdoor table. Our server was kind and attentive; she brought waters for my family and our dog after being seated. Foolish Frog has 4 craft beers on tap, and I ordered the Holy City Washout Wheat, which was delicious. For appetizer, we ordered the fried frog legs. It's been a while since I've had frog legs, but they were tasty, as was their dipping sauce. $14/4 legs My husband and I both chose the Lowcountry seafood platter as entrees. This $18 lunch included 4 shrimp, 4 oysters, 1 flounder filet, coleslaw, fries, and two teeny hush puppies. The seafood was good, but I wasn't impressed with the sides. The fries needed to be drained a bit more before dumping on the plate, as they sat in a puddle of oil. The hushpuppies were tiny and flavorless, and the coleslaw was nothing special. Their menu states that they've partnered with the SC Aquarium to sell 90% fresh, local seafood from the waters of SC, NC, GA, and FL. When possible, they try to use eco-friendly paper products instead of plastics. Service was good and the views were excellent. The manager came by the table a few times to check on us. In the future, I'd like to see more diverse options for sides and craft beers. The menus were super sticky from what I assume to be drinks; they needed to be cleaned. We Yelp all of our food choices when we are on vacation and this one deserves two stars. The servers and hostess are friendly but the food is bleh. I ordered a shrimp basket (dinner $26 after 4:30) with broccolini and sweet potato fries and two tiny coke hush puppies. The best thing was the fries lol then the broccolini. The shrimp were awful and had zero flavor. All you tasted was batter. I told my husband I would rather drive 30 mins to Publix and Walmart to pick up shrimp and cook it back at the villa.
