Trendy, energetic, and an incredible dining experience! Row 34 was such a fun spot! The restaurant has a really trendy atmosphere, and the energy was fantastic from the moment we walked in. But what really stood out was the service. Our wait staff was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing, and the whole experience was truly out of this world. I started with the Golden Tide, which was a delicious combination of pineapple and orgeat flavors. Refreshing, tropical, and a great way to kick things off. For appetizers, I ordered fresh raw oysters and the scallop ceviche, I honestly don't know much about choosing oysters, so my waitress basically gave me a mini oyster class and I was impressed by how knowledgeable she was! She explained the differences between oysters, including how some are creamy and briny while others are much saltier, almost like taking a bite straight out of the ocean. Such a cool experience and something I genuinely appreciated. And that scallop ceviche? Hands down, the BEST ceviche I've ever had. The scallops were incredible, and I loved that they served it with root vegetable chips instead of the typical tortilla chips. Sweet potato chips added such a unique flavor and texture. Absolutely delicious! For dinner, I had the sumac-crusted tuna with haricots and assorted vegetables, and it was fantastic. The tuna was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and paired perfectly with the vegetables. Between the food, the atmosphere, the energy, and especially the knowledgeable and attentive service, Row 34 delivered a dining experience that I'll definitely remember. This place was the last dinner we had while visiting Boston. So glad we chose it. It has a different, very cool vibe as soon as you walk in. Fresh seafood starting at you as you walk in. They have the Christina Grüner Veltliner, which is always a favorite, so I was pleased with that. The shrimp cocktail were fine, but gone are the sweet, succulent, briny of my youth, and now we just have these bland shrimp. Jonah crab claws had no flavor and I ended up not eating one. The watermelon salad was the best item that I ordered. It was fresh and absolutely delicious. I requested no basil, but kitchen staff took that to also mint, which was disappointing. A trip to Boston would not be complete without seafood, I stopped by Row 34 for a quick solo dinner while I was in the area. On a busy weekend night, I was able to get a seat at the bar. Started off with the clam chowder which was solid, although I felt that the bacon and creamy slightly overpowered the clams. I got myself a warm lobster roll which was very decadent. The lobster meat was very fresh and simply seasoned. The portion was larger than expected but I really appreciated the generous serving of the lobster and the seafood to bread ratio. The side chips were also crunchy and nicely seasoned. Staff were polite; food came out at a reasonable time. The dim lighting made it a vibey, intimate place for a dinner. Stopped in at Row 34 without a reservation and luckily we were able to get a seat at the bar. The menu had a lot of seafood and non-seafood options. We heard Row 34 is one of the restaurants to visit for good lobster rolls while visiting Boston. We stayed in the Seaport area and this was about a 15 minute walk from our hotel. We came here during lunch on a Wednesday. We had 3 adults and a toddler and it wasn't busy, nicely air conditioned and there was also outdoor and bar seatings. I got an espresso martini which was good. We started with fried calamari and corn bread for the table to share. Pasta and broccoli for the toddler. And then 2 warm lobster rolls (about $42 market price) and a shrimp roll. I also ordered the clam chowder to compare to other places. I felt like the clam chowder had a really strong bacon taste and flavor that overpowered the soup, and it was pretty light as opposed to thick. I was expecting something a little close to the harbor. I was traveling for work. It is really upscale. It is closer to downtown, and it is very fancy. Service was very solid. They have amazing service. They also have very high-end fish so if you're looking for a particular kind of dish that isn't as common, that's not a bad place to go. Visiting Boston so it was only fitting to try a true Boston Lobstah Roll! My friend brought me to this restaurant as she stated it had great reviews and heard from other friends that they had the best ones. Made reservations for 8:15pm but we actually were in the area earlier and around 7pm we walked in to see if they could accommodate us earlier which they DID! Unfortunately im not sure if their AC system doesnt function well or just the type of restaurant it is but it was HOT!!! I Think it was hotter inside the restaurant than outside. Outside you at least get a little bit of a breeze. Either way, thankfully I jad brought a little handheld fan with me so my friend and I were able to cool down a bit in between turns. I ordered their cold lobster roll with fries and she ordered the burger with fries. That was the freshest and most DELICIOUS lobster roll I have had EVER! You can definitely tell we are right by the sea. It was also a very big decent size which I appreciate it. Other places give a small hotdogs size roll and you are done within 3 bites so this roll definitely filled me up. My friend also said her meal was delicious and we had NO complaints. We were also given a free appetizer with our meal which was the mexican street corn. Very VERY delicious. Corn so soft and buttery with their mexican cream sauce was VERY flavorful. Must be for the trendy, with-it crowd. Our bell man, and uber driver were unfamiliar with this restaurant but this eatery was packed. I had called in for reservations but was told walk in. When we arrived the receptionist said you wouldn't believe we got busy all of a sudden. We were quoted a 15 minute wait time. Before we arrived in Boston I had read Yelp Elite, Peter N's review and was intrigued. Our 2 nd night in Boston I told hubs let's try Row 34. I found out that our flight attendant stays in Seaport where this is located and supposedly 7 minutes from our hotel. Let's go! We had the pleasure of having Jackie as our server. She was sure an enjoyable person to ask for recommendations of crab cake or a lettuce appetizer. She checked up on us, poured us refills from our large still water bottle. She was great. Hubs ordered two starters: clam chowder and squash. I also ordered starters: crab cake, calamari, cornbread and iced coffee. The calamari was excellent, the batter so light, crispy and it melted in my mouth. I used the dip that accompanied it. The cornbread was like a dessert with maple butter, sweet in a good way. Delicious and large like a round shaped pie. My iced coffee hit the spot- enjoyed it tremendously. After a 12 hour tour to Martha's Vineyard it was a welcomed pick me up. As soon as one party left, another one occupied their table. If you are a seafood lover you will enjoy eating here. After reading reviews of Row 34, I knew I wanted to try it the next time we were in Boston. We got the opportunity during our recent visit. We would like to know if we should try the one in the Seaport area or the one in Kenmore Square. Our hotel was in the Seaport area, and the local Row 34 was about a half a mile down the street from the hotel. We chose to walk to that one rather than take the T to Kenmore Square. The restaurant was practically in Downtown Boston. It's located in a former warehouse that has been converted for other uses. Row 34 is on the first floor. The interior still retains its industrial vibe, complete with old wooden support beams and exposed brick walls. We went for an early dinner and were greeted and seated immediately. Our server came along shortly. We knew what we wanted and gave him our order. My husband chose to start with clam chowder, and we both opted for buttered lobster rolls as our main course. To drink, my husband got Athletic non-alcoholic beer while I got a glass of Coke. The one hiccup with the service involved the server bringing my husband his drink but not bringing mine. I asked him where my soda was, but, apparently, the server didn't hear me. When the server brought my husband's clam chowder, I asked again about my soda. The server admitted that he had forgotten about it and quickly corrected his mistake. My husband enjoyed his clam chowder; it was served with what seemed to be a homemade cracker. We both liked the lobster rolls, which had New England-style rolls. One thing we both agreed on was that the rolls could have used a little more butter, as they were a bit dry. Otherwise, the lobster was properly cooked. This dish comes with house-made potato chips, which we both enjoyed. Plus a side of coleslaw accompanies the meal. The coleslaw was good, nothing fancy. But all in all the raw bar items were reasonably priced and fresh. Scallop pasta was good and the curry seafood pot was also very good. They do need to serve the curry pot maybe with rice, it would have made it perfect! Nice dessert menu and a good assortment of after dinner drinks! But I do agree with my other Yelpers, the value for price of the Lobster roll is just not worth it. All in all. This was a good solid meal. Visiting for a conference. This place is an 8 minute walk from the Omni hotel at the seaport. Extremely busy on a Monday night, however this was during FIFA World Cup. Got two seats at the bar right away. Nice looking up scale spot with some limited outdoor seating. Beer list not too big, but some decent choices other than Sam Adams. Clam chowder was amazing. I was told this was the place to try my first lobster roll in New England. Even though this place is a chain, it's highly regarded. There were some other spots I could have tried my first but I waited patiently for this reservation. I can assure you, it was well worth the wait. Walking in, we were seated at what looked like bar seating, facing the kitchen. There were counter seats as well but we were sat at the high tables across from those. The ambiance in here is nice. It's clean, modern and a pretty place to hang out at. Our server was alright, albeit a bit aloof. He wasn't unfriendly but you could tell he couldn't care less about us. Row 34 in Seaport seriously blew me away. I've had oysters in a lot of places but this one is on another level. We tried 4 different types and every single one tasted super fresh, clean, and just really high quality. You can tell they know what they're doing here, even the way they shuck it is nice and clean, no shell pieces or anything. Their menu actually has like 10+ kinds of oysters, highly selective and premium. I really wish we had more time (and stomach space) to try more. But we already had like 3 dinners planned that night lol so this was more like a "stop by and eat as much oysters as possible" situation. Got recommended Row 34 for lobster rolls (as one does when visiting Boston) and it did not disappoint! A huge portion with chips and coleslaw and the lobster roll was delicious. Once again, I'm not sure if this is the norm for prices of lobster rolls now but I would like to check out Quincy market / other places to see if there are more affordable and good lobster rolls in the area. We were able to walk in on a weeknight without a reservation and had a selection of oysters, the warm buttered lobster roll, the whole grilled fish, and the shrimp pimento. The food was excellent, with the lobster roll being one of the best I have had in Boston and menu was very fairly priced considering the portion sizes, but what really made the experience special was our wonderful waiter, Thomas. He gave us candid recommendations on how to order and also made my parents anniversary celebration so special! We would come back for him alone, but it definitely helps that the food was also excellent. I think this would be a great spot for all occasions whether it is gathering with friends and family or for a date night. This time, I had a much improved experience, but this location is still below the other Row34 locations (Burlington, Cambridge) around Boston. The location close to the Menino Convention Center is ideal for treating out of town visitors. The warm lobster rolls impress overseas visitors. The wine selection is excellent. Sancerre, Muscadet, and Vermentino are excellent affordable wine bottle options for oysters pairings. Service was sweet, pleasant, and efficient. And while, sure, the menu said the pricing was 'MP' (meaning Market Price, or...based upon current market conditions)...and while, sure, we didn't ASK what the price would be, on that day, I still think it would have been nice if the waitstaff voluntarily offered up that detail. (I'm certain the staff are aware that many of their diners express shock, once the price is disclosed...) Many folks simply make an assumption or a guesstimate, as to the price, when they see 'MP' on a menu, and this is usually based upon their prior experiences, ordering such a menu item. So, for example, I was thinking the lobster roll might be in the $40-45 range. So imagine my utter shock, when we received the bill, to see a charge for $69?? I have never in my life had such an expensive lobster roll. Yes, it was delicious, and the housemade potato chips were also great. The slaw was also good (though it was a very tiny amount...I would have liked more). But boy, did that price shock me. I would normally never have voluntarily ordered a $69 lobster roll.
