Row 34 in Seaport seriously blew me away. I've had oysters in a lot of places but this one is on another level. We tried 4 different types and every single one tasted super fresh, clean, and just really high quality. You can tell they know what they're doing here, even the way they shuck it is nice and clean, no shell pieces or anything. Their menu actually has like 10+ kinds of oysters, highly selective and premium. I really wish we had more time (and stomach space) to try more. But we already had like 3 dinners planned that night lol so this was more like a "stop by and eat as much oysters as possible" situation. Honestly I'm pretty sure the other food here is just as good, based on what I saw on other tables. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Boston. read more

First time here. We got the lobster roll. And while, sure, the menu said the pricing was 'MP' (meaning Market Price, or...based upon current market conditions)...and while, sure, we didn't ASK what the price would be, on that day, I still think it would have been nice if the waitstaff voluntarily offered up that detail. (I'm certain the staff are aware that many of their diners express shock, once the price is disclosed...) Many folks simply make an assumption or a guesstimate, as to the price, when they see 'MP' on a menu, and this is usually based upon their prior experiences, ordering such a menu item. So, for example, I was thinking the lobster roll might be in the $40-45 range. So imagine my utter shock, when we received the bill, to see a charge for $69?? I have never in my life had such an expensive lobster roll. Yes, it was delicious, and the housemade potato chips were also great. The slaw was also good (though it was a very tiny amount...I would have liked more). But boy, did that price shock me. I would normally never have voluntarily ordered a $69 lobster roll. It simply never would have occurred to me, that a place would ever charge that much.... read more

This place was recommended and it did not disappoint! Awesome open kitchen, fresh raw bar and a very warm and cozy atmosphere! The staff were friendly and helpful, knew the menu and the items on it. The wine list was solid and the prices were not too outlandish for an upscale local. Great assortment of east coast oysters. Should give a little flavor description on the menu to help you choose. But all in all the raw bar items were reasonably priced and fresh. Scallop pasta was good and the curry seafood pot was also very good. They do need to serve the curry pot maybe with rice, it would have made it perfect! Nice dessert menu and a good assortment of after dinner drinks! But I do agree with my other Yelpers, the value for price of the Lobster roll is just not worth it. All in all. This was a good solid meal. Maybe a little on the high side for cost but not enough to make me feel I didn't get my moneys worth. Two thumbs up! Definitely recommend this place!!! read more

Must be for the trendy, with-it crowd. Our bell man, and uber driver were unfamiliar with this restaurant but this eatery was packed. I had called in for reservations but was told walk in. When we arrived the receptionist said you wouldn't believe we got busy all of a sudden. We were quoted a 15 minute wait time. Before we arrived in Boston I had read Yelp Elite, Peter N's review and was intrigued. Our 2 nd night in Boston I told hubs let's try Row 34. I found out that our flight attendant stays in Seaport where this is located and supposedly 7 minutes from our hotel. Let's go! We had the pleasure of having Jackie as our server. She was sure an enjoyable person to ask for recommendations of crab cake or a lettuce appetizer. She checked up on us, poured us refills from our large still water bottle. She was great. Hubs ordered two starters: clam chowder and squash. I also ordered starters: crab cake, calamari, cornbread and iced coffee. The calamari was excellent, the batter so light, crispy and it melted in my mouth. I used the dip that accompanied it. The cornbread was like a dessert with maple butter, sweet in a good way. Delicious and large like a round shaped pie. My iced coffee hit the spot- enjoyed it tremendously. After a 12 hour tour to Martha's Vineyard it was a welcomed pick me up. As soon as one party left, another one occupied their table. If you are a seafood lover you will enjoy eating here. After reading reviews of Row 34, I knew I wanted to try it the next time we were in Boston. We got the opportunity during our recent visit. We would like to know if we should try the one in the Seaport area or the one in Kenmore Square. Our hotel was in the Seaport area, and the local Row 34 was about a half a mile down the street from the hotel. We chose to walk to that one rather than take the T to Kenmore Square. The restaurant was practically in Downtown Boston. It's located in a former warehouse that has been converted for other uses. Row 34 is on the first floor. The interior still retains its industrial vibe, complete with old wooden support beams and exposed brick walls. We went for an early dinner and were greeted and seated immediately. Our server came along shortly. We knew what we wanted and gave him our order. My husband chose to start with clam chowder, and we both opted for buttered lobster rolls as our main course. To drink, my husband got Athletic non-alcoholic beer while I got a glass of Coke. The one hiccup with the service involved the server bringing my husband his drink but not bringing mine. I asked him where my soda was, but, apparently, the server didn't hear me. When the server brought my husband's clam chowder, I asked again about my soda. The server admitted that he had forgotten about it and quickly corrected his mistake. My husband enjoyed his clam chowder; it was served with what seemed to be a homemade cracker. We both liked the lobster rolls, which had New England-style rolls. One thing we both agreed on was that the rolls could have used a little more butter, as they were a bit dry. Otherwise, the lobster was properly cooked. This dish comes with house-made potato chips, which we both enjoyed. Plus a side of coleslaw accompanies the meal. The coleslaw was good, nothing fancy. Just splendid in its simplicity. Service, regarding our main courses, was on the slow side but not so bad as to be annoying. We're glad we came and would return next time we're in town. read more

My friends and I came here on a girls trip and have heard a lot of great things about Row 34! The restaurant is very cute and it was very popular on a Friday night. Our server suggested starting with an assortment of oysters, which were all very fresh and tasty! I stopped by in a group of 3 at noon on a Thursday. The restaurant got very packed pretty quickly. Service throughout the meal was fast and efficient. Our orders were taken quickly and got our food very quickly as well. I ordered the FISH TACO. Flavor was pretty good and the fish was nice and flakey as well. I was told this was the place to try my first lobster roll in New England. Even though this place is a chain, it's highly regarded. There were some other spots I could have tried my first but I waited patiently for this reservation. I can assure you, it was well worth the wait. Walking in, we were seated at what looked like bar seating, facing the kitchen. There were counter seats as well but we were sat at the high tables across from those. The ambiance in here is nice. It's clean, modern and a pretty place to hang out at. Our server was alright, albeit a bit aloof. He wasn't unfriendly but you could tell he couldn't care less about us. What a beautiful spot. There is seating inside and outside. Located by lots of nice parking garages (walkable). Seats are a bit uncomfortable, as they are metal slats. Quality of the food, both the raw and regular was IMMACULATE. A lil pricey. Note that the lobster is market price (MP), so make sure that you ask. Got recommended Row 34 for lobster rolls (as one does when visiting Boston) and it did not disappoint! A huge portion with chips and coleslaw and the lobster roll was delicious. Once again, I'm not sure if this is the norm for prices of lobster rolls now but I would like to check out Quincy market / other places to see if there are more affordable and good lobster rolls in the area. Over $40 for a lobster roll seems a bit pricey though they were generous in their lobster portion. Would recommend this place for visitors who want to try a good lobster roll! read more

For seating quickly but was not happy with my table. I came alone and was seated at a table by the wall. It was cold outside so there's a major draft and the seats are metal. Had the most wonderful experience at row 34! We were able to walk in on a weeknight without a reservation and had a selection of oysters, the warm buttered lobster roll, the whole grilled fish, and the shrimp pimento. The food was excellent, with the lobster roll being one of the best I have had in Boston and menu was very fairly priced considering the portion sizes, but what really made the experience special was our wonderful waiter, Thomas. He gave us candid recommendations on how to order and also made my parents anniversary celebration so special! We would come back for him alone, but it definitely helps that the food was also excellent. I think this would be a great spot for all occasions whether it is gathering with friends and family or for a date night. This time, I had a much improved experience, but this location is still below the other Row34 locations (Burlington, Cambridge) around Boston. The location close to the Menino Convention Center is ideal for treating out of town visitors. The warm lobster rolls impress overseas visitors. The wine selection is excellent. Sancerre, Muscadet, and Vermentino are excellent affordable wine bottle options for oysters pairings. Service was sweet, pleasant, and efficient. My favorite was the Aunt Dotty but they were all so fresh and tasty! The spicy mignonette was insanely good and added an incredible depth of flavor. I had to get the warm butter lobster role and that baby was jammed packed. They didn't overdue it with the butter and really let the flavor of lobster shine through. Started with some beer and a cocktail. 6 oysters and a bowl New England clam chowder. Oyster were very good. The chowder was a bright take on a traditional chowder. The potatoes stole the show. Bacon and corn were a solid combination and the clams were delicious. Dinner was Jonah crab and lobster roe fettuccine which we split. Our server, Nolan, helped with letting us split the meal in 2 bowls when it was served. Really like this place. The only comment, is the cost. Came here for lunch with my team since they suggested it. We were able to get seating right away for seven of us. Our waiter Rodrigo was very fast and efficient which was good because some of us had to catch flights back home. I got the salmon Poké bowl and it was good. It actually had watermelon slices in it, which was different, but I liked it. Prices were just a tad higher relative to the area but worth it so no complaints. There was a little snafu with our bill, but the restaurant manager Rachel fixed it right away. Our office is near here, so I'll make sure to stop by next time. Good place to eat! read more
