Surprisingly though, with the amount of animals that they have there, especially BIRDS, it did NOT smell, so big kudos for that. Yes, they have reptiles here, lots of beardies, crested geckos of all sizes, morphs, with and without tails, a frilled lizard, rock iguanas, various snakes, and honestly THE MOST chameleons, especially large ones that I HAVE EVER SEEN even at a reptile shop, so if you're looking for chameleons this might actually be the place. There's a lot of cohabitation going on, but honestly, aside from the East Bay Vivarium, due to lack of space and funding, this is an unfortunate aspect that can't be avoided... They also have lots of birds including parrots of all sizes, cockatiels, finches, and even a chicken. They're kept in a very tall, big display coop which is pretty cool. There aren't really any bird shops in the area (the most exotic you'll get are aquarium shops and SOME reptile ones), so if you have feathered friends, this is the place to go. I LOVE that they have prepackaged feed specifically for different species. Made by the business owners for sure and they also have a good amount of feeders too. For mammals they have some hamsters, bunnies, and guinea pigs. For inverts, they have tarantulas and scorpions. There's a good variety of pet supplies here too (some dog and cat items too) that I don't see at other places, so that's neat too.

Fontana Tropical Pets charges $29.99. No BS! It's a fact that this is the cheapest place! Customer Service: Hope and his Friend Al are great guys. They are always helpful, Always smiling, Always have time to give advice and ideas. I have never felt rushed or bothered in anyway. They greet my 6 year old and give him love and attention. Hope helps teach my Son a bit of Mandarin every time we come in. Al plays great music and also has plenty of fish wisdom. I refuse to go anywhere else. Fish: I recently bought about 17 fish (Cichlids/Plecostmus/Silver Dollars) for my 45 Gallon Upright Octagon tank. I also bought about 25 assorted community fish for my Son's 45 Gallon Standard tank. No fish died. I'll say that again, No fish died! When I was younger and frequenting this location my fish did not die either. Hope knows his stuff. I read other reviews stating that there are tons of dead fish. This is not true. They have to be bad customers. Every single fish place will have a few dead fish here and there. There is no getting around that. That is part of the business. Fish get stressed and often sick being transported from here to there. Hope sells healthy fish. Period! Cleanliness: Is this place filthy? No. Is it immaculate? No. Remember, this place has been here for over 20 years. The building is old. He has accumulated a lot of stuff. Unfortunately, when she arrived for the appointment, they refused to groom Camila, stating they needed to "build a relationship" with her first. This was confusing and frustrating, especially since this requirement was never mentioned during the online booking process. For comparison, I've taken my 8-month-old dachshund to Petco in Van Nuys and have never experienced anything like this. Overall, I was really disappointed. I just wish this policy had been clearly communicated beforehand to avoid wasting our time and causing unnecessary stress.
