I honestly never bought I'd be writing a review for a bank as I've never really looked up any review for a bank but today i felt compelled to give appreciation where appreciation is due. I went in today to ask a few questions about My existing account and my car loan. I was greeted the moment i walked in as they always do which i feel is very professional. What made today a bit more appealing was that i was assisted by a gentleman named Steven. Don't remember his last name but i think it started with an M. Lol the questions i asked were very time consuming since i needed details on a lot of things but Steven was very patient and not once showed any frustration woh my endless list of questions. Had the same great service as always but i would say his customer service in particular really made this experience stand out. I'm sure i will be a customer of theirs for a very long time. Just opened up an account here today after hearing about how great they are from several of my family members. Their staff is very friendly and helpful as soon as I walked in a nice lady asked what i needed and handed me the paperwork to get me started shortly after Stacy set up my account and gave great recommendations for me to save money on my car and credit cards. FFCU is a great bank, but like other banks they still have all the same guidelines about third party check cashing (The person would have to be on your account) However they did make a ONE TIME exception for me when I needed to cash my boyfriends check for rent. I was in a terrible bind. They did finally help me after having to jump a couple of stipulation barriers. I had to bring in an I.D. for him and they would accept the check and place a hold which is fine. So I went back home to get the I.D. later to be told it had to be a CA I.D. I only had his Valid Texas I.D. with his signature to compare the endorsed check they were making this ONE TIME exception for me. What a mess this was becoming for me to just get rent paid in time. I felt defeated and embarressed..I began to cry at my bank where these people have seen me through the years. I have had this account since I was 12 yrs old began as a a scottie saver member. Now here I am 29 yrs old struggling for every penny just to support my self and my baby..I broke down in public felt like a fool especially because once they agreed to this ONE TIME exception they kept reiterating it to me like I didn't hear them the first time or like I was dumb and wld try and make a habit of this third party check cashing. Anyway at the end of this fiasco...I'm greatful to this bank and branch manager for making this ONE TIME exception finally. And thank you to GIGI the teller for putting up with me and a HUGE thank to the teller girl who handed me a box of tissue. Something a small as a tissue made me feel like I was human again not just a bank account with no funds. Thank You and Yes this bank is better than CHASE or WELLS FARGO or Bank Of America...to bad there won't be an FFCU when I move back to texas with my future husband. read more

I loved them for a long time. They financed my car loan and we had a great relationship. I enjoyed going into my local branch at Glendora where I received friendly service. And then they started making changes which inconvenienced me. Corporate switched my account without my permission to a duplicative type of service with free credit reports. Umm, I already get that from another bank - and it was going to cost me $4.95 monthly unless I used the card 10 times. This is just not appreciated. It took a bunch of hassle on the phone to switch my account back to what it was. Then they changed their website for online banking in the middle of a days-long attempt to link to another financial institution. And then they made their website awkward for those who wanted to keep track of the 10 monthly transactions. At this point I'm just plain irritated. So I am taking my money to another bank which will give me better interest rates on CDs for less hassle. I've just fallen out of love. 2 stars for the good times we shared back in the day. Also - the front door is really awkward if you are struggling with a disability as I was especially dealing with in 2012 going forward. read more

They don't take outside deposits from other banks so just warning the customers. Alot of other credit unions cash but they aparently don't.

This is a GREAT Credit Union!!!! I've been a loyal and satisfied customer for almost 8 years to date. I will never go back to a traditional banking institution when the services are so much better, personalized and hi-tech-user friendly with this credit union. Let me start off by saying I do not bank with this credit union. That said, I would never bank with them. Went in to cash a $20 check. They have security where only one person can enter at a time. It would not let me in and beeped every time I walked through the metal detector! When one of the tellers finally let me in, she starts in on me as if I'm the dumb one. She insisted since I kept walking backwards that it would reset each time. Um no, even when I went through and stood where I had to, it beeped every, single time. Also, they wanted to charge me $3 for cashing a check from one of their customers!! That makes no kinds of sense! So, first impression was their condescending teller and their ridiculous "cash checking fee" of a check written from one of their own customers. Good grief! read more

Foothill Federal is awesome! I worked with the Arcadia branch and they have always made all processes super easy. Never any hassle or problems like you get with other 'big name' banks. Everyone here is very professional and friendly. They made the auto loan process extremely simple. I just purchased a car thru their service, NEW CARS INC. and Rob and Leah were extremely helpful, I got prompt assistance and answers to my questions. They found me a great deal on the car I wanted and I didn't have to waste my time at a dealearship! I will NEVER buy a car directly from a dealership again. I love this bank! I used their free car buying service through New Cars, Inc. I will never buy another car at a dealership. Leah Nelson from New Cars, Inc. made buying a car such a wonderful experience. She did all the hard work and found the EXACT car I wanted. So I'm going on about two months with my FCU relationship. Thus far, it's been great. Their rates are by far more competitive that competing banks. I'm thinking of refinancing my car loan through these guys but I'm just waiting to try and get a little boost on the ol' FICO. So far, being a non-BofA customer has been the best thing I could have done. I'd banked with them for years but began to feel more like a number than an actual human being with actual banking needs and borrowing needs. Glad they're gone! read more

Saw all the great reviews here and decided to try FFCU. Nice building, but despite a very slow day I had to wait almost 15 minutes for a person that was not helping anyone else. I relayed that I wanted to open a checking account. I was told that to have a checking account I had to also open a savings account. Even though I did not want or need a savings account, I said okay. Then I was told they would have to run a Telecheck report on me before I could open any account. Reluctantly, I agreed, despite it seeming strange I would have to jump through all these hoops just to let them hold my money. Then the final straw--they would not let me open an account unless I also agreed to a let FFCU run a full-blown credit check--TRW Experian, etc. Again, I am trusting them with my money, not the other way around! Not asking for credit or anything other than a safe place to put my money. I left and will not return. I will stick with banks! read more
