Been taking our son here since he was 3 days old with Dr. Warren. Thought he was alright, seemed good with children however everything was going well until it came time for the MMR vaccine. As a a parent, I want what's best for my child, I had some concerns with that vaccine and as I raised questions about it he stated if we do not vaccinate our child he will refuse care for my son. I told him I'm not too comfortable just yet putting that into my child, he's barely two years old, what is the rush to push these shots on him and he can't even speak for himself therefore I am his advocate. Dr. Warren dropped us as patients, which is upsetting because we asked him if we can please have a referral to a speech evaluation for him since he's not speaking a whole lot, and he denied our request. It's upsetting because I had concerns on one vaccine , Dr. Warren will not help us at least with a referral for his developmental needs and concerns. I'm not against vaccines what so ever, I just didn't feel the urgency to vaccinate him so young with such strong dosage, and it's my right as a parent to make this decision with my child and they refused us care because of my opinion for my child. It's very upsetting. He stated them as the board of doctors they will drop you as a patient if you refuse to vaccinate the MMR, chicken pox, or some other one. Currently on hold with office for the second time. I've waited 25 minutes on hold and they dropped call and so now I'm back on hold. I'm simply trying to receive information because my daughter received X-rays over a week ago and I've received no follow up despite calling multiple times and leaving multiple messages. I never received a call back for my messages and yesterday after 35 minutes on hold got through to someone who assured me I would receive a call back but never did. The front desk also assured me she set up a portal for one of my daughters (the other daughter has a portal but for whatever reason they aren't connected) that I've tried setting up for a year now. Every time I call they assure me I just need to wait that the email link takes around 20 minutes. (Wrong, it never arrives). We transferred to this practice after moving to the area and I wish I could speak more highly of it as I had such hopes being its associated with CHOC. This practice is such a headache though as communication is impossible. The doctors I've met so far are fine but nothing is remarkable and as mentioned the communications are terrible. read more

Hugely disappointed in this office. 1. We had to reschedule my son's 15 month check up appointment today and their next appointment wasn't until the end of December -- a full TWO MONTHS from now. 2. My son (16 months) has been coming here since he was 3 days old. In September he was bitten by a rare species of insect that is known to carry a 50% chance of having a very serious parasite. I came in with the insect (a Triatomine AKA kissing bug) half an hour after the bite occurred and our usual doctor (Dr Warren) wasn't in. A nurse took the insect from me and 10 minutes later, after showing it to Dr Hong, the nurse came out and said that Dr Hong didn't think it was the insect in question. I was turned away and told to go to urgent care if he got a fever or rash. And the doctor never spoke to me themselves. I cried in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do. We went to urgent care and started researching how to get help. Well what do you know... since pediatricians themselves are NOT entomologists... it was in fact a Triatomine. 24 hours later I had confirmation from entomologists at Berkeley, UC Riverside, etc. The CDC came and picked up the bug 5 days later and tested it in their labs. If Dr Hong had just stopped and had some compassion for a panicking mother and helped me navigate who to contact at the CDC right away -- it would've saved me hours and hours of research, anxiety, loss of sleep, etc. On top of it -- our usual doctor Dr Warren... I left 3 messages over 3 days for him to call me. I never received a call back. When the San Bernardino County Public Health Dept requested a written blood parasitic test for my son he wrote up the wrong test. And still, never called. Never called to check on his patient. Never called to ask what was happening or offer an apology for our we were treated when we came in on his day off. I'm absolutely DONE with this office. It's massively disappointing because we previously really liked Dr Warren. I never was a huge fan of the way the office is run though. Save your time and your child's health -- find a different pediatrician's office. This one ain't it. read more

This review is purely for the MA named Lizette. She is awful, rude, and heartless toward patients and parents/families. People working in healthcare should be compassionate and caring for those in need of help, even more so in pediatric. Parents with sick children are desperate in need of help. Instead of acknowledging, trying to help them, she harassing them. The ways she talks and treats people, she should be working with prisoners not in pediatric healthcare. My son has been with Dr. Warren since birth... love the DR... this is not a review for the Dr but the administrative staff!!!! It's true when they say that a staff can make or break your office... Now with that said, yesterday, Wednesday 2/19 I made a wellness appointment for my son for next week Monday, requested by my doctor of course! Today 2/20 I get a call from this VERY UNPROFESSIONAL sounding female!!!! Here is a copy of the message translated, and she is threatening to cancel my sons appointment do to a payment balance, which today would be the first time I hear of a balance... Please keep in mind that a few months back they over charged us by a couple of hundred dollars and we never made a fuss about them rushing our payment. I Tried to call the office to speak to the manager and they place me on hold for ten minutes then picked up the phone laugh and proceeded to hang up... called back again and of course they said the manager wasn't in, funny that wasn't told to me at the beginning!!! So now I had to leave a message for Tiffany assistant manager because Karan the manager was not in.., hmmmm let's see how this goes!!! I hate this place! They are the worst. THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!! They don't return phone calls when you have a question about an infant or even urgent phone calls about a baby's health! We welcomed our beautiful baby girl and chose a doctor off of the list the hospital gave us. I called them prior to the baby being born and they told us to call after she was born. My husband called the day after she was born to schedule an appointment. We had chosen a dr and one of my nurses said that the dr was fabulous and was her kids pediatrician. We were informed we couldn't choose her because she was retiring and we were assigned another doctor. We went in for our first appointment and w're told that my daughter had lost weight, which we already knew. As a first time mom whose parents have both passed away and whose in-laws were sick at the time, I really didn't have much guidance with breast feeding and my milk didn't really come in until my baby was 5 days old. I didn't know that because the lactation nurse at the hospital said everything was good, but the hospital put her on formula on the third day. So, we had to go to the doctor weekly until she had gained enough weight to satisfy them. No problem! I want my baby to be healthy. Flash forward to January and my 15 months old. She started day care twice a week while I'm in school and got sick after the first day! My husband took her to the dr because she woke up two days after her first day with her eyes crusted shut. By the time of the appointment a couple of hours later, her nose was running. They said to give her Hylands. Later that day, she developed a fever so I called them and they said to give her Tylenol. This was a Thursday. By Tuesday her fever was gone and we sent her back to school. Same thing happens. She was moody Wednesday and had a fever by Wednesday night. Dark green snot, fever, eyes crusty. Back to the doctor Thursday! Now they suggest Zyrtec. I would think that they would suspect infection! She gets worse. So, I go with my husband and thankfully they finally give her an antibiotic which made her better. Now, at these appointments, they tell my husband that we owe $199 each time! Nope! He has a PPO and I had MediCal at the time. I called and they told me that they don't accept my MediCal! Funny, because they did when she was born! They confirmed that they would take my insurance when I had her! They said they only take LACare for a certain time period after baby is born. So convenient. So, I switched her to anthem like they told me to do. I still got a damned bill! They told billing that they told me at the time of service that they don't take LACare. That's a lie! They told me after her second appointment in February of this year when I called! There shouldn't have even been three appointments! When a child has yellow-green mucus and mom has a history of sinus infections and allergies, child should be monitored better. She also had horrible colic for months that we went to the doctors for many times that I know suspect to be some type of allergy. This place is rude! We had another problem when our whole family got Covid last summer. We had to miss my daughters 9 month milestone appointment. She tested positive for Covid for weeks despite only having symptoms for less than a week. We made an appointment with a doctor that was not her normal doctor. It was supposed to be for a milestone/covid checkup. I'm n the way out, I noticed that her milestone paperwork said that she could have water. I thought she couldn't have water until she was a year old, so I asked the nurse as she was walking us out. The grump at the desk said "anything you talk about outside of what the visit was scheduled for will be billed." What?!?! I filed a complaint about that! So, we will not be patients anymore. I won't be scammed. As a first time mom, they should have told me more about what to expect with my baby. I was in the dark a lot. This practice is awful and I will be filing a complaint about the sneaky way that they and bill! read more

Dr. Wheeler is good and my experience with him was fine BUT the office staff at this establishment is rude and unprofessional. They have ridiculous rules about not being able to sit in the large empty waiting room because of COVID which I kinda get but I think they're being excessive about it all. The room can be cleaned and everyone is wearing a mask. They can't get appointment times right. Long waiting periods, forced to wait in car with a toddler not easy at all. Asked us to reschedule multiple times. Then had us wait almost another hour once I get to the room to see the doctor. My one year old was having a breakdown. At least provide toys for kids if you're chronically late. I feel this place could be more organized and congenial. I will look for another pediatrician now. read more

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Hollenberg for a few years now, and the service overall doctors included is nothing to write home about. However my REAL ISSUE is with the office staff. I have never had a worse experience in all my life. Down right RUDE staff, I would rather deal with the dmv any day! From not following through on important medical/insurance information, to doctor's canceling a few hours before an appointment. I have seen multiple families here be treating like garbage. Such a shame to represent pediatric doctors in this way. Makes me want to remind each and every one of them where and what they work for. Down right disgusting. It is rather difficult to get a hold of the office through the phone, let alone schedule an appointment, but whenever we do see our doctor, we are satisfied with the care they give. There is also a young man who works in the front office who's always helpful whenever we visit or call and he always has good sense of humor. This used to be a great place with actual doctors. We have three children who have gotten care here since 2015. Our most recent is still a baby and not yet a year old. At this point we're far from being overreactive parents; but when we feel it best for one of our children to see a physician, we call to make an appointment. After having a very sick baby with a painful croup/like cough all day, we still waited until the next day to call the pomona pediatrics. By this following morning our baby had a fever and his cough had gotten even worse. We were handed off to a nurse answering machine where we left a message and received a call over two hours later, when we were then fed a typical line of "this seems to be going around" and then told we could NOT make an appointment until the baby's temperature increased to at least 103 or he had a fever for several days. That's that. We could not take our child to the doctor. This doctor's office would not see our sick child. When our kids get common colds they stay home from school and we treat them ourselves. But when we feel that a possible infection or something more complex is at play that may be worse and need the attention of a professional, we try to get a doctor to examine them. Trust me, a "fluids and rest" diagnosis even at that stage would be a relief, as long as the doctor was actually able to see the child. But as our baby suffers in our arms right now (you should see him) with barely any energy, crying from a sore throat and bad cough, and continues to run a fever, we are puzzled why he was denied care. If you can, since there are few options in the area, take your children to a different pediatric office, one that isn't overrun with bureaucracy and other issues, else you find yourself calling the hospital, urgent care, or when worst case those fail as well, the morgue. read more

Took my 4 day old infant here for her first wellness check up. The staff and dr were not welcoming and were very rude. Due to us being cash patients they treated us like we were poor and not going to give our daughter proper medical care. Came to this place I was recommended by a friend I took my son here for his first visit he was only a week old and we got an Arabic or Indian lady Dr she was wearing a head cover I don't remember her name but she seen my son he got his physical/check up and she examined his private and forcefully pulled his foreskin all the way back until he screamed and he was bleeding he was an infant she should not have done that he is now 11 and had to get surgery to be circumcised and he also had a lot of scar tissue which caused his penis to bend due to the damage she did to him as an infant! If your child have a special condition she would completely ignore it. when ask questions she would refused to answer ( most likely because she don't know the answer ) she is just not a very knowledgeable person. the WORST place you could take your kids to. After the initial appointment, the Dr ordered a bunch of lab works and specialist exams without telling us. We were not even informed if it's necessary and what was the reason for each lab work order. We were told the dr can talk over the phone after each lab work and not even a single call. We have to call literally 10 times to rush the front desk and the dr just left for the day even though we left message that it was urgent to talk to him. If you in need of talking to your pediatric dr, you would have to wait couple days before they respond. Even though if it's urgent. We requested referral to see the GI specialist and we waited 3 weeks and nothing was submitted. Overall, it was the worst experience for us as this is our first child. Since birth my son has had the up most and premium care provided by Dr. James Warren. I cannot say enough GREAT things about his care and bedside manner. We change never seen another doctor in that office except for Dr. Tillis for a nothing major, and she was kind and gentle. Overall the communication from the Dr's. and nurses and their system of getting you in and out has been seamless even in their transitions and move. Dr. Warren has been the pediatrician for our 3 children since our son was born 11 years ago, and he is fantastic. The other doctors have been great as well, in situations where we needed to see a doctor right away and Dr. Warren wasn't available. I highly recommend Pomona Pediatrics. My friends have been speaking highly of it ever since I graduated from college in 1991. The offices are clean and we'll taken care of. This review is long overdue. I came to Pomona Pediatrics when I just had my first born. My son was seen by Dr. Hong for his 1-month checkup and she didn't explain things thoroughly and was careless. She seriously wanted to scare us as new parents. My sons head size was larger than normal, and she said she was concern that he might have fluid around his brain and if that's the case than he will need surgery to put a plate in to drain the fluid. She also said that if we didn't drain the fluid, he might have headaches and other issues when he gets older. What?!!! you can imagine we were freaking out...and no way did we agree to have our 1 month old have surgery for something that is not confirmed. Our parents and everyone around us thought they were crazy and suggested us to get a second opinion. We went to another pediatrician and they did a thorough head scan before providing any information that would freak us out. The new pediatrician mentioned that the scans came back normal and that my son probably just has a big head. My son is now 4 and healthy as ever but has a big head. If we listened to Pomona Pediatrics, we would have regretted our decisions for life. I'm writing this review based on our experience. I would not recommend Pomona Pediatrics. If you don't have a choice with providers and have to go to them, I would suggest getting a second opinion if you feel like your child's diagnosis doesn't seem accurate. read more

I don't normally leave bad reviews, but after my recent visit to the office, it was long overdue. Over the course of 20 years, I have been taking my children to Pomona Pediatrics. I have always loved the care and attention received from the doctors and nurses. However, the front desk staff is often very rude, which is unfortunate because they are a direct reflection of the group. During my most recent visit I walked in, there was no one waiting in line to be helped, and saw that two staff members were sitting behind the counter so I walked up to the first window and was rudely told to wait. I patiently waited until the staff member was available, then after filling out the required paperwork and was tried to turn it in (there was still no one waiting in line), I was told again to wait. I am very disappointed that this is the kind of treatment you receive. And, after reading other reviews, I am not the only one who feels this way. A change needs to be made! read more

I took my child to see Dr. Warren today and even with the COVID-19 the staff was extremely nice and patient. They checked our temp before even going into the waiting room and asked some questions. My kids have been seen by Dr. Hollenberg and Dr. Knoll. The doctors I like. But the staff here, trash. There is two front girls that are sweet and approachable. But the nurses are so horrible. I don't know if it's management that makes it hell for them or the pay. We have been clients at Pomona Pediatrics since our baby was 2 weeks old. He is now 16 months old, and we have visited the facility to see our son's doctor, Dr. Toya Tillis, many times over for immunizations, routine care, and occasional illnesses. Here's what we love about Pomona Pediatrics: 1. Care. The care we received is VERY thorough. Dr. Tillis was our primary care physician, and she always took a great deal of time to examine and care for our child as well as inform us about preventive care. She is kind and caring, and our son always felt comfortable with her. He always had hugs for her! The nurses are also kind and very good at what they do. During times when our doctor wasn't available, the other doctors were also very thorough. Once, we had to bring our son in for 3 days in a row to follow up on a stubborn ear infection, and Dr. Tillis knew she would be out one of the days when we would be returning. So she had one of the other doctors on staff come in and look at our son's ear just so that she would be able to assess whether it was getting better or worse the next day. This is an example of the kind of medical care that has become quite rare. We appreciated our doctor's attention to detail! We had to leave Pomona Pediatrics because we relocated to another area of the country. We saw Dr. Tillis for immunizations one last time a few days before we left. We were pleasantly surprised to hear from her the day we moved out of our home -- she just called to check up on the baby and to wish us well on our journey. We had a great time chatting and saying goodbye. :) During our time under Dr. Tillis's care, we never felt rushed, and all of the millions of questions we had as first-time parents were taken seriously. 2. Customer service. It was always very easy to get appointments, even same-day. We also loved that there was a doctor on call who was always there to answer questions. 3. Cleanliness. The facility is clean and calming. We appreciated that there was an area designated for well children as well as a separate area for newborns. Our son loves the fish tank! 4. Convenience. The pharmacy is right downstairs is very fast. As a family, we give our highest recommendation for Pomona Pediatrics. We have been going to Pomona Pediatrics for 16 years. Doctor Warren has been my three daughters pediatrician since birth. They absolutely love him and feel so comfortable with him and all the staff. We now live in San Bernardino but continue to drive to Pomona for well check ups and not so well check ups. Dr. Warren is always thorough, takes his time with the girls and always makes sure he answers all our questions and concerns. My girls always tell me they wish they could continue to go to Pomona Pediatrics even after they turn 18. They're the best! read more

Dr. Hong always takes her time and ensures we have all our answers- which is a lot since I'm a google freak and research everything ! I love that they have an area for well children to prevent any spread of illness. We got our temperature taken before walking in. Filled out new patient paperwork and they called us in right away. My daughter got her physical done her doctor was really nice and friendly , she made my daughter feel calm since she knew she was scheduled for her shots.
