We also recently used their cremation services for three of our beloved pups. Every single experience has been handled with such care, professionalism, and compassion. The staff are gentle, understanding, and genuinely love animals -- you can feel it from the moment you walk in. They made the hardest moments a little easier and the routine visits stress-free. Foothill Vet Clinic has been serving the SFV area for quite some time now. It has expanded within the same location, making it spacious for us visitors. They are still next to the pet shop. There was a line today upon checking in, however, it sped along well. This review is once again, for their vaccine services. I have not encountered an issue for these services. Thankfully, I haven't had the need to utilize the medical services for my pets, so I can't comment on that part. With that being said, vaccine wait time is a breeze once you are in the system, the techs are very nice toward my pets and pretty quick at administering the vaccines. They give you your vaccine receipt after the shots are given with post care instructions printed out. Thank you! read more

UPDATE: Dr G treated our elderly dog for an issue compassionately for nearly 2 years. Now that Dr G is no longer there, stay away from this place at all costs. I can guess now why Dr G is gone. We called and were told they no longer take any appts at all for our dog's annual checkup to renew her meds, we walked in as instructed, were put in an exam room, then told the Dr was in a procedure and sent home. After we got home they called to tell us Dr Fan was doing a "scheduled" procedure (but they don't take appt?) and he does not want to continue to treat our dog. So were we lied to and the Dr didn't want to have the conversation with us, not face to face or over the phone? They recommended we go to Foothill Clinic in Canoga Park, don't think we want to go there if recommended by or affiliated with this one. We've spent a good amount of money and time at this facility. We've brought our other pet here too. We've recommended to family and this facility but NEVER AGAIN. read more

However there was a staff who was very rude. Karina, word of advice your tone and how you directed yourself to me was completely inappropriate. I'm not going to leave the clinic for $$ and or a small item. I rejected the service and I am not a thief. You should treat people with more dignity. I was not influenced to write this review. This is based off of my own thoughts. I brought my dog here because he was having a hard time walking, he was not eating, and I could tell something was off about him. I recommend coming here with an appointment so you don't have to wait that long. Oreo and I were taken in and we only waited about 15-20 minutes to be seen by the doctor. Dr. Brian is extremely knowledgeable and professional. As he was observing Oreo, he was making sure Oreo felt safe and comfortable even if it was scary. He explained Oreo's condition to me clearly, showed me the X-rays and explained, and gave me all the options for his treatment. I really appreciate the staff here. I highly recommend bringing your dogs here. I trust them with my furry babies. read more

Interesting to note, my review of a few days ago has "mysteriously" disappeared. After spending over $1,600 for treatment and a wellness check for my cat, he was no better than when I brought him in. I specifically noted twice to the vet to please check his teeth as he has had to molars removed prior and is a Siamese, who are known to have problems with teeth. I was told clearly twice "his teeth look fine." I took him to another vet who checked his teeth and took a photo of his mouth. He had one particularly bad tooth that appeared to be broken and red ringed, a sign of periodontal disease. I even took in his binder full of dental visits and results. Be careful where you take your animal. This place does not deserve one star for what my cat has been through. read more

Update: so after my bad experience the Dr personally reached out to me and I was extremely happy with the way she handled the situation. She made things right and made me feel like they cared about my dog. I was even going to change my rating and leave a positive review. That was until one of the staff members pulled me aside and reassured my original post was needed. 100% stand my ground on what I said about the service. Worst experience ever. The first time I brought my dog was like I was at a used car dealership they kept testing to upscale medication and I could hear the doctor coaching the employees through the thing walls. Pretty sad how they try to profit off of love for our pets. 2 wks ago I called to make an apt for my dog for an injection they told me to come in no injection needed after being there an hour they sent someone out they told me they needed to see how much medication was needed cause he gained 3 lbs .i then asked to get my dogs nails clipped while I waited they took him back and the inexperienced staff member came out and said they couldn't do it. Another hour passed then the front desk tells me they couldn't give him the injection. Save your time and money they are unprofessional and inexperienced. This clinic is absolutely horrible. The doctors genuinely do not care about your pets. Not to mention, EXTREMELY overpriced!! I took in 3 pups to get fixed and just as everyone else says, they kept trying to push other procedures on them. As well as judging my situation, implying that I am neglecting my pets for not doing all of the extra procedures (the dogs weren't in my care until now so I couldn't possibly do anything for them before.) Very very judgemental and unprofessional. I felt humiliated and all I wanted to do was get my pets the care they needed. Very sad to judge someone when they are asking for help and are clearly stressed. This place is definitely not a safe space for you or your pets nor is it pocket friendly. Trying to be concise due to limited characters, but I will no longer be coming to this vet. First came in February and visited 3x with my two cats (9 year old male and female) they overcharge for everything and will try to sell you as much as possible. Over these last few months I was left without answers for my pets. One is experiencing bad allergies, but the doctor was pushing anxiety and stress and suggested a possible future of Prozac. I had a couple appointments and did all the blood work and process of elimination just to have to do my own research and find out an antihistamine is what she needed. As for my other cat he is having breathing issues but was told I needed to see a specialist after they charged me for everything they could. About $800 for both visits. Attached is most recent visit for my cat with allergies as proof. Also it's an outdated practice to lift adult cats by their scruff, especially a 12 lb cat. It hurts them and that caused real anxiety due to aggression. My cats are extremely well behaved. I'm sure they did some things properly but it's so overshadowed by all the negative. I called foothill vet clinic and they told me to come on in, yes there was a wait to be expected in a walk in clinic but they told me I could wait from home and they would call me when it was 10 minutes before his turn. The vet was nice and knew what the possibilities were, they outlined the procedures available, the prices and asked what we wanted to do. While the wait can be long at times due to their high volume of walk ins, I always walk out with all my questions answered and feeling I've received the best care for my rotties. Their prices for services are fair and comparable to other vets in the area. What I appreciated the most is how comfortable and spoiled they made my dogs feel; I will definitely continue to bring my pets here for all their needs. I call to ask about my pet because my dog is getting surgery and the ladies at the front say one thing and then another I drive all the way there for what for her to say I never said that I don't remember so basically I drove all the way from my house for you to tell me something else and come back empty while my dog is in pain. I Understand mistakes happen but this happened more than once with different ladies doing the same thing to me I don't give them a hard time. I don't even yell I even call them before I go. Sadly this business has taken a wrong turn. The last few visits I have had have been very disappointing after my last visit I felt compelled to make this review. I brought in a sick puppy and came in to do a fecal exam as parasites were a concern, of course somehow I was talked into doing all these extra unnecessary tests and was billed $900 + after the tests came back only the fecal was abnormal of course. I was sent home with prescription canned food which was over $60 for 8 cans (online $40 worth of the same product) I was also sent home with probiotics that are also almost half the price online. I was also prescribed a medication that quite literally almost killed my puppy. I was up day and night the past 2 days keeping it alive. I finally decided to stop the prescription and went elsewhere for a second opinion, where I was told that the prescription was way too strong to be given to a puppy that size&age. Had I continued the whole thing my pup would have died! I truly do not believe foothill vet it looking out for the best interest of the animals that are being brought anymore. They are sadly just another MONEY HUNGRY practice. I guess for vaccines you should be fine as they are walk in based and still fairly priced on that. But I do not recommend you bring your sick animals for care anymore. read more

PET OWNERS BE AWARE If I can give this disgusting place of a vet zero stars I would despite my wife coming here years ago while my sister in laws dog was very sick and unfortunately passed away that same day because they wanted to close on time was more important than assisting and emergency situation with a pet but that's a different story, I'm here to warn everyone to stay away from this disgusting place at all cost unless you love your money and time to be wasted ESPECIALLY your time and gas and for them to beat around the bush, first things first a year ago we had our baby boy dandi come in to get checked out long story short we scheduled a appointment in advance and my wife came in at 850am keep in mind our appointment was made at 9am with a voicemail they left to remind us and the scumbag lady at the desk tells my wife that she is late how our appointment was at 9am but ok lady, next she waited almost hour and a hour became more she was stressed about our baby dandi being in the cage for too long causing unnecessary stress prior to his surgery so we wanted to take him out and reschedule and they refused to release him their "excuse" was the vet helping with another pet ummm what tf was the appointment for? So from 9am till around almost 7PM! They finally completed his surgery dandi was ok and Dr.G stated if we would like to try seizer medicine or stick with gabapentine so he did great with the Gabapentine was well for him so Dr.G stated that he is going to be on that medication for life to maintain his seizures so he said to keep him on that medication until December so we can recheck to see how he is doing around a week ago my wife called to refill his prescription the lady at the desk said it will be ready tomorrow and we called and they said it was ready to be pick up unfortunately we have one car currently so my wife was going to pick it yesterday they stated now we aren't able to pick up the the medication they said we need to walk in a spend more money in order to continue the refills but yet they stated they were at the wrong and I will quote the lady "yeah I can see we messed up we put it for December but it was supposed to be October" we told them you need to Honor your mistake they were hanging up my wife and she had to continue to call back and the dumb lady excuse was "yeah it's probably the phone keeps cutting off" we got tired and we transferred to a different vet that's waaaaaay better than this shitty place they were even giving us a problem sending the medical records to the new vet saying "oh we have to approve it to email his records to the vet" so STAY AWAY FOR THIS PLACE THEY ARE SHADY, IRRESPONSIBLE, OVERBOOKING, THE LIST GOES ON WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT AND WE STILL HAD TO WAIT TWO HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I have been coming to this vet since May 2021 and I have nothing but good things to say about it! My 11 year old Princess first came to the clinic bc she had pyometra :( I liked that the Dr and the vet techs were not sugar coating the situation and made sure to let me know whAt condition she was in and the options I had available. You can tell that it's in their best interest to care for your pet. I recently had an appointment because Princess has been coughing lately. I made the appointment for 11:00am and I arrived at 10:50am. I waiting in the waiting room for about 15minutes and than I was moved to a room to wait for the doctor. They usually do this and doctor is there within 5 minutes but I wasn't attended to until 11:40! I grew impatient because they weren't updating me or anything, I just waited in a closed room... That is honestly the only complain that I have. I also understand because it does seem that they are understaffed. Overall I love their services and how attentive they are once they are in the room with you. All the staff are super kind and make sure to handle my Princess with care. Dr.Fam always makes sure that I understand the situation. He goes as far as sometimes even drawing diagrams that explains my dogs situation. Leslie (veterinary tech) is also very kinda and informative when I have questions about medication. Julio (vet tech assistant) also is super kind and I am always greeted with a smile from him. I have been bringing my 11 year old Shih Tzu here for almost a year and have nothing but great things to say. He started developing severe allergies about 2+ yrs ago, he would scratch so much he was basically a giant scab. On top of that from the constant licking he would give himself severe infections which would result in swollen paws and overall bad odor that would not go away no matter how much he was bathed. He was miserable and looked miserable. I spent over a year and a lot of money going from vet to vet trying to figure out what was wrong and how to help him. I changed his diet, shampoo everything. All other vets just gave him steroid and antibiotic shots and sent him off. These treatments worked for maybe a month at most and we would be back at square one. I didn't like having him on steroids because the side effects weren't comfortable for him. I brought him here to Foothill Vet Clinic where he was checked out and set up on a treatment plan with medicated shampoos, diet, etc. No steroids whatsoever! They were very clear about what I needed to do for him and have adjusted his regimen based on his progress. My little bear is now comfortable and not smelly at all, his issues are under control which has helped him go back to being a happy dog.
