De Renee saved my cat Bear's life. Bear would have been dead a long time ago if not for her. She has kept him extremely healthy and happy. They are by far the best. Our family has followed Dr. Ziegler from Allentown to Quakertown and we live in Bethlehem. I don't know how other vets handle cats, because it NEVER crossed our minds to look anywhere else for the care of our cats. In addition to what many have said about the wonderful care, integrity, compassion and knowledge that Dr. Ziegler has shared, I also appreciate and respect her honesty when I have asked "What would you do?". What an awkward position I have put her in over the years, but without her insight I could never have made some of the decisions I have to care for my cats. Hands down best vet clinic we've ever been to! We bring our cats from Manhattan to see Dr. Z. The last vet we went to have my cat ear drops that were expired and burned her ears. We're now about two years of coming here and her ears are almost better. We had our other cat become paralyzed after an accident and she's now back to walking and better than ever. They do great work. My one cat was in and out of this Hospital for the last 2 months do to urinary crystals. I just got online to search what hours my vet was open today and the Yelp reviews came up in my search. I want to add my review because the ones already here definitely do not mirror my experience with For Cats Only at all. Dr. Ziegler has been my veterinarian since she opened her doors in Quakertown and I cannot speak highly enough about her clinic, her staff, and the care she provides. This week, I woke up to a sick cat and immediately got in the car and called For Cats Only on the way because I know they will make time to see her, even though I didn't even have an appointment. Of course, that's not something I do often but it's good to know that I can if I need to instead of running to an expensive vet hospital that doesn't know my cats history. Dr. Ziegler has always been exceptional in her expertise, her care, and the attention she not only shows my cats, but also shows me. She is very current on research and treatments (pros & cons of probiotic use, grain free foods, etc) and always respects my input. I also like that by going to a cat-centered clinic, she can usually pinpoint any problems and is able to narrow down exactly what test is needed so that my bill is always reasonable with appropriate exams/tests/treatments. There's not much more I can say other than I am a very loyal client and I trust Dr. Ziegler and her staff immensely. Before I went to Dr. Ziegler, I never had a regular vet and just took my cats wherever was cheapest and convenient but since going to For Cats Only, my cats gets the best, most affordable care at one consistent place and for years now they have only seen one dr. for all their care which I feel good about. The clinic is always clean and comfortable. Fees are reasonable and they do a lot within the community to help pets in need. If you buy food from them and your cat won't eat it, they have a generous return policy or will offer to donate it to a shelter on your behalf. Overall, as a long time client, I highly recommend For Cats Only and Dr. Ziegler and I suggest, if you need a vet, to make an appointment or call the clinic and see for yourself rather than rely on internet reviews. I'm glad I found this place before I saw these reviews because it may have cost me many years of quality care for my kitties. read more

I really like Dr. Z and her staff. They are very friendly, caring and accommodating. I like that there are no dogs in the waiting room. Dr. Z never rushes me out the door and will wait to answer as many questions as I have. She is very knowledgeable about issues relating specifically to cats! After seeing a different vet for feline asthma Dr. Z got my cat set up with a medication that is actually working. Her staff truly love cats and gush over each one. Dr. Z is very caring about the cats experience here and simply won't do something if she thinks it is causing undue stress. I just dropped my kitten off to be neutered and they called me the second he was waking up (2 hours earlier than they had told me originally). read more

For years I had bounced from vet to vet with my little kitty & when we moved to Quakertown I saw For cats only & decided to give it a try. WOW! From the friendly faces, to the doctor & staffs compassion & even to their very reasonable pricing, I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS! This past January we had to put down our girl at the young age of 17 (2 months shy of her 18th bday) and Doctor Ziegler was so amazingly understanding. She told me what was happening & gave me my options. We decided to give our girl a few more weeks at home before we put her down, but the doctor was so compassionate & even agreed that it would be nice for us to spend her last days with her in the comfort of her own home! The day I put her down was the hardest day of my life & they were great through it all. Now Moose is on our mantle looking over us in her beautiful box they gave us. I will always take my cats to For Cats Only. No doubt in my mind. No one is puuurfect (see what I did there?!) but trust me, this place is worth giving a chance (or even a second chance). read more

I drive all the way from Philly to go to this vet because of the reasonable prices and caring staff. The fact I make the drive is also based on the fact I have a special needs cat and whose care I would only entrust to Dr. Z. Further, I strongly disagree with the last reviewer who is one of those people who makes me think... seriously get a life. Do you really have nothing better to do then cat sit for your friends and write essays on yelp on behalf of your friends, and a vets unwillingness to shake your hand. Seriously, if you are looking for a vet that won't charge an arm and a leg like some of the places in Philly do this is the place for you. Monday 26 Aug 2013 First ever visit to COVC in Quakertown with our tabby Gizmo. He is sick with diarrhea. The Vet perform a general exam of Gizmo. Due to his condition (diarrhea) she recommends blood work and urinalysis. So $50 + $157 + $36 totalling $242. The Vet state we will have the results in 24 - 48 hours. Advises us to watch Gizmo closely. 24 hours later we call - test results not back, tomorrow we will have. 48 hours later we call - doctor will be calling, she makes her calls in the evening 72 hours later we call - doctor will be calling (still diarrhea) 96 hours later we call - doctor will be calling (still diarrhea) 120 hours later we call - doctor will be calling ( we have now gone to pet plus looking for alternatives to help Gizmo) 144 hours later we call - doctor will be calling. US Mail arrives with gift from COVC. Street address is spelled wrong, Gizmo name is wrong. Insult to injury. Enough. Unopened gift in hand I go to COVC for answers. I give them back their gift, explain the situation with a raised tone. The helpless receptionist is apologetic.I explain we will be refuting the charges as this is not acceptable service and Gizmo is still sick. By the time I get home (5 mins after leaving) the Vet is now on the phone with my wife who hands me the phone. Doctor trys to explain that nothing is wrong with Gizmo. SHe never got the phone messages from us. Didnt know Gizmo had diarrhea, blah blah blah. Just lies! Has the audacity to recommend medicine for him (thru COVC) or bring him in for observation. Do NOT be DUPED by these people, if she is NOT a liar she is incompetent. read more

She is driven by a genuine love of felines that goes beyond her practice with the effort she commits to various no-kill charities. For Cats Only is the place where my wife and I have trusted three cats. She has helped us bring happiness to a cat with severe CH. She helped us with another through a troublesome UTI. She was our guide as we rescued a dear cat with Feline Leukemia. She enabled us to give him a wonderful life. She was there with us when his time ran out and that, I promise you, is the time which proves the value of her unique care. For Cats Only is the embodiment of Dr Ziegler's love for cats. For Cats Only has been our primary veterinarian clinic since 2007. I have had as many as 11 indoor cats. As a health care professional I expect the same quality of care for my cats that my human family members receive at a physician or in a hospital setting. I feel my cats receive exceptional care by Dr Ziegler and her staff of veterinarian technicians. Through out the years I have had several cats who have experienced acute and chronic conditions, all well managed by Dr. Ziegler. When needed she has the ability to consult with feline specialists. (Nephrology, Cardiology Dermatology etc.) Some of my cats have required hospitalization. Those are always rough days without them being at home, but the daily updates that I received help to put my mind at ease. I feel very comfortable asking questions about their treatment. Dr Ziegler always provides me with detailed information so that I can make an educated decision in choosing how to proceed with the care of my cats. I also board my special needs cats at For Cats Only when I have to go out of town. Again having peace of mind knowing my cats are receiving the best of care while I am away. I have experienced being a client at other veterinarian facilities in the Lehigh Valley. We are fortunate to have to have found Dr Ziegler. I do use Quakertown Veterinarian Clinic for off hours, emergency visits if needed. Quakertown Vet will automatically provide information to For Cats Only about the nature of the emergency visit. For Cats Only will then do a follow up call to assess the need for follow up care. There are not enough stars to express my positive gratitude and confidence in this veterinarian clinic. My cat had surgery at this clinic, which required a lifetime prescription diet (insisted on by Dr. Ziegler when my cat had the surgery and since). I haven't been able to afford, nor had reason to take my cat to the vet for over a year. I still have a valid script for her prescription food. But I tried to order offline (Chewy.com) because it was cheaper. When the site called For Cats Only Clinic to confirm the prescription, the clinic denied the script because they said my cat was overdue for a visit. I think this action speaks for its greedy self. The clinic prescribes a lifetime diet, that of course For Cats Only Vet carries (at a way higher price than literally anywhere else) but if you don't give the vet your money every year, the clinic won't approve your cats continuing lifetime needs. I seriously question whether the vet or her staff truly care about the animals or if the financial motives have overcome the requisite level of compassion. I think this action speaks for its greedy self because there is no other reason to deny a prescription bladder food for a cat over the phone. How could someone possibly abuse this product? I will not be taking my cat to For Cats Only Vet or Dr. Ziegler EVER again. This was a cruel thing to do. Thankfully the website (Chewy.com) allowed me to email them a copy of the valid (not expired) script Dr. Z wrote, and then the website sent me the prescription food. FOR CATS ONLY in Quakertown was THE WORST vet experience in my life. I took a sick friend's eight year old cat there, because her cats had been patients there for seven years. I called for emergency appointment (At 9A.M.), after the cat showed signs of imbalance. They told me first appt was at 4:10, but I could bring him, and vet would look at him between appts. Got there, waited 20 minutes before being acknowledged, then another 20 before being told to leave, and they would see him when they could. They close at 6 PM and we were told that he had not even been seen yet, call tomorrow. At 2:30 the next day, he was STILL not seen. Six days later they called her to say he was "Better"; "Come pick him up." We went and got him (After paying a $900.00 Vet bill), took him home, opened the carrier, and he walked out and collapsed on the floor!! I called another vet (Harleysville;), and they told me to bring him right away. I was at Harleysville for THREE HOURS before For Cats Only FINALLY faxed over the cat's records. HVille did blood work, and treated him, and in 2 days and a substantially lesser amount he was doing much better. When I went a week later to pick up her other cat's medicine at FCO, they told me that they canceled his medicine because she went somewhere else for the OTHER CAT!! They had NO idea what was wrong w/ him, but instead of admitting it and suggesting a second opinion, she (The female blonde???doctor ) got her feathers ruffled...and acted like a child with hurt feelings.. I brought back a Cryovac Sealed package of medicine that the second vet said "DO NOT GIVE HIM", and asked if she could get reimbursed, and they said "No, it could have been tampered with?????" They took me into a little room, and when I stood to shake the vet's hand, and introduce myself, she stood against the wall with her arms crossed in front of her, and did not reciprocate!!! When I called the owner (My sick friend), and asked the "Doctor" to speak to her, she refused! I'm sowwy I hurt your wittle feelings. GROW UP and get a vet that does not act like she got her degree from KMart!!! Oh, and this review would have been ZERO stars, if you allowed it. Save your cats, and steer clear of this over priced HACK SHOP! read more

What started out as a three-day board turned into boarding for 10 days. My very fussy cat had a wonderful time. They took such good care of her and worked with me on a day-to-day basis, as we were having our motorhome engine repaired and I couldn't give them a definite time period. I had a great experience here, and if I hadn't moved away I would still use this vet for my cat. My little guy had a pretty bad start in 2014, having to be hospitalized for a blockage in his urethra. About a month after coming out of the hospital, he began exhibiting signs of being blocked again. After an unpleasant experience at a vet closer to my home, I drove a half hour to For Cats Only. I explained the situation to the doctor and she was very understanding and calmly explained that UTIs are common when a cat is catheterized, so they would test his blood for infection. I explained I lived a bit ways away and I didn't want to leave him overnight (it was a 2 pm appointment) if possible since he had been through a lot lately. She was again very understanding. I got a call around 5 pm that day saying he was ready to go, and that it was in fact a UTI and she had prescribed an antibiotic. I drove as fast as I legally could to get him before closing, but it was rush hour and I ended up getting there about a half hour after they closed, but the receptionist had waited, very generously, and was not all rushing or upset. She raved about what a sweet boy my cat is (he really is, he loves to cuddle), explained the dosage and administration of the meds, and we went on our way after profusely apologizing for being late. Also, considering he had an exam, tests, and a Rx, the bill was just under $200 and I was incredibly relieved since I had been charged a lot more by other vets just to exam and test him. After the proper administering of the antibiotic my dude was all better, and a year later (knock on wood) we've had no issues. I totally recommend this place for anyone's feline babies. read more
