I just turned 16 and of course I had to her new glasses. When I was purchasing my glasses, I met this new employee who I haven't met in years yet, her name is Christina and she is the sweetest. She tried her best to assist my family who only speak Spanish , she was very patient and understanding that my parents didn't understand what was going on. I was very disappointed with my experience with For Eyes in Montgomery Village. I have been going there for many years and have never received such rude treatment. The sales person handed me my new glasses without a word. I had to find a mirror, look in it and figure out what adjustments needed to be done. When I asked her to adjust them, she was very rude about it. Apparently, gone are the days there when you took a seat and someone checked to be sure the glasses fit, etc. I left there thinking I need to find a new place to buy glasses. read more

The glasses I bought a little over two years ago at the Rockville store inexplicably started delaminating from the edges. I figured any warranty had probably expired, but needed them replaced, and thought they might do something for me on the price. I went to the Rockville store and found it had been closed down permanently. I then went to the Gaithersburg store, where they told me the lens replacement would be $300, and since my prescription was over two years old, I'd have to come back in a few weeks to get a new prescription before they could order lenses. I decided to explore my online options. That night I ordered new replacement glasses for $125, and they arrived in a couple of weeks. I'd been getting my glasses from For Eyes for over 30 years, but I won't be back there, or to any brick-and-mortar store for glasses again. read more

I've been going to Dr.Brodak for years, he is awesome. He always made me feel so welcomed & well informed. However, the staff.... so rude. Especially the four eyes staff on the other side. Jeremy is condescending as soon as he answered the phone. Seriously what a shame, only reason I'm giving it more then 1 star is for Dr. Brodak. Awful! Worst customer service I have ever experienced. My horror story: I waited 25 min to be seen for my exam. The exam itself lasted 5 minutes at most. I decided to get 2 pairs of glasses and a pair of prescription sunglasses, so I spent a lot of money here. When I received the glasses, I could not see clearly, so I had to get a second eye exam to confirm the prescription. However, the prescription was correct, so I was stuck with the blurry useless glasses and a huge bill. I had to get a second opinion by another doctor (more money spent) and it turns out the lenses were cut incorrectly, on all 3 glasses! Finally, after all the frustration, I decided to return the glasses and get a refund, which I was told was acceptable on the phone. When I got to the store, they would not return my money because I did not have my original receipt (ugh, you have got to be kidding me.) So after 6 visits to the store, and several battles with customer service, I was able to return the glasses and get a full refund, minus the several hours I spent there.... all because someone did not bother to measure the frame of face and order the correct lenses. Do not waste your time or money here. read more

It was a great experience for getting my eyes checked for the first time in 5 years. All the staff where polite and answered any question. When called in, Dr. Brodak explained all the procedures he was going to do and when found issues he went into great detail of the problem and how to fix it. I will definitely be going back. I have been coming here for years with my whole family. The eye doctor is very kind and attentive but the front office specially the office manager lack professionalism and customer service. My daughter got her contacts for the first time and I was not allowed to sit with her while she was trying on her new set of contacts. Well my teenage daughter did not capture all the steps on how to take care of her contacts. So we go back 2 month later only for my daughter to get scolded by the office manager like if she was her daughter but in a degrading demeanor. My daughter suffers from anxiety attacks and depression needless to say this attributed to breakdown. I called the office right back after I left to only get a no empathetic apology. read more

The measure of safety in the office made me feel comfortable even during these trying Covid times. Dr. Brodak is one of the best in regards to professionalism and competency. I've been there twice and he consistently attentive to quality of care and service to the patient's concerns. He really listens and demonstrates his talents. I had an urgent walk-in due to sensation of a foreign object trapped under my eyelid. It caused a lot of pain, discomfort and watery eye. He assessed the general condition then proceeded to visualize w/ special eye drops and special lighting to observe any corneal damages. He located the object and removed it accordingly. My wife and I had been going to For Eyes for glasses since the place opened. Dr. Brodak and his staff are professional, attentive, and take excellent care of their patients. Kudos to Dr. Brodak and his staff. The optical staff not so much. Just the other day my wife took in a pair of $300 glasses purchased less than 5 months ago to have fixed. We were informed that the glasses were NOT under warranty and that we would need to purchase new frames. And that since we didn't purchase the 1 year warranty there wasn't any other options available. WAIT, WHAT? Are you kidding me? One would expect better customer service for glasses that cost that much. What a waste of time. I told them that they won't be seeing my family here ever again. This place has kind employees and the optometrist and staff are great. My granddaughter needed glasses and I didn't know she had insurance when she got her exam. So I said no. The receptionist for Dr. Brodak said she could check and if she did, the doctor would send me a refund. Imagine my surprise to get a refund in the mail several weeks later. The pricing on the children's glasses is pretty low compared to the 4 places at Lakeforest Mall (with the possible exception of the store in JC Penneys'). One of my daughters was in an accident, was in intensive care and rehab for months after. Her glasses were destroyed and For Eyes at this location basically gave her a new pair at a pretty deep discount. They also tried to put together the badly damaged pair, but it didn't work. read more

I wouldn't be coming to this For Eyes location for close to 30 years if I wasn't always happy with the service and products I've received. I was a patient of Dr. Brandenburg's for probably 20 years, and of Dr. Bedi's for the last 6 years or so. I've found the eye exam to be thorough and the wait to be seen comparable to wait times at other doctors offices. Sometimes I can get in right away, and other times I might have to wait but that goes with the territory. Can't say enough about how reasonably priced the eyeglasses and contacts are! I've made the mistake of trying 3 other optometry stores in the past 25 years, and I keep coming back to For Eyes because they are the most cost-effective, have a HUGE selection, and present the best value. its unbelievable how much markup there is at other places I've gone to! Most recently, I tried another big chain optometry store because I had a LS coupon that included an eye exam and $225 credit to spend on eyeglasses and lenses. Thinking I'd have to spend maybe $100 more, I thought I'd go ahead and give it them a shot. they wanted to charge me close to $1000 for the first set of frames and progressive lenses I picked out!!! of course they don't tell you that they are showing you their most expensive frames first. I told them, oh no way. I was not at all prepared to spend that money on ONE pair of eyeglasses! I told them, "forget it, we'll need to start over." Then they start showing me their "value" frames which still start at about $200! They tried telling me most of my cost lies in the progressive lenses that I need. I ended up spending close to $500 out of pocket above and beyond the LS deal!! I was so unhappy that i brought a copy of my new prescription to ForEyes that same evening, and was able to get a pair of designer prescription sunglasses by Elizabeth Arden, with PROGRESSIVE lenses & protective coating for ... $184! what a deal! I asked them how much it would be if I wanted to get new eyeglasses with progressive lenses and rimless frames. For Eyes price? $199. As far as repairs go -- i have brought in eyeglasses that have lost a bridge piece, broken a bridge piece, and my son and I have accidentally bent the frames at one time or another. I simply walked in one evening and they repair them FREE of charge! Customer Service and good will goes a long way! I've learned my lesson...I'm never going to go anywhere else but ForEyes for my vision needs! read more

I recently came here for an eye exam...my eyes couldn't wait any longer, they were getting worse!...but I was actually quite impressed at how quickly my exam and the service was. Maybe because there wasn't a single soul there, but that was the fastest service I've ever experienced through them. They have a new system where you can fill all of your information through a link online before your appointment, which made everything much easier and efficient. Anyways, I hope they keep the efficiency up!!! read more

So let me just set this straight with all these other reviews... I've been a patient at this office for many years and never had a problem. Even when they switched doctors and staff, they just keep improving. The doctor now is fantastic. Takes him time to talk to you and you can actually tell he cares. As well for the staff there. Awesome staff! The prices I feel are reasonable! I bought ray bands and weren't as expensive as I thought and the staff help me picked them out and I don't regret the decision at all. I had no problem with the doctor at this location, he was kind and thorough. But after ordering my new glasses they told me it would be no more than one week until they were ready. After the first 10 days and no glasses I was given no info, just that they dont get shipments often. Finally after 16 days, they told me their lab was broken into and they would need to reorder. After day 20 they said the frames I purchased were broken and they had to reorder. I did not receive my glasses until the 22nd day, and the only reimbursement i received was $40, after paying close to $300. I spoke with two other people about this and they both received the same treatment i did. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Starting with setting up the appointment over the phone they were very accommodating to my schedule needs. I walked in, I was greeted and walked through the process to provide my information. They took the time to explain and make things clear. The information was verbally explained and presented in writing to avoid any miss communication. During my exam the doctor was very thorough, he explained everything clearly and took the time to listen to my concerns. This company does not know the meaning of customer service. It took almost 5 weeks to get a pair of glasses and there was nothing special about them. They never contacted me about the delay until I called about them. When they were finally ready they were shipped 3 day instead of overnight. Even the district manager did not follow up unless I called him and then he had to review the case over again. Their optometrist is great but the rest of the store is not, They also redesigned the store to make it less comptable to get fitted as well as picking up the glasses. I have purchased several pairs over the years but this will be the last!! read more

I have been so impressed with Four-Eyes over the years. The staff are courteous, knowledgable, patient and helpful. I actually live out of state but come to this location while visiting family to get exams and glasses at a great price. One pair, out of about ten, had an issue. The quality of this place declines every year. I've been bringing my family here for years and the only good and consistent thing is the doctor. Some of the staff up front need training on customer service. I worked with a young lady yesterday that acted like she was in such a rush, didn't explain things very clearly, and gave wrong information. She didn't listen well and I kept having to repeat myself over and over while she acted with an attitude. Then in the middle of placing my order, she leaves to go fix another customers glasses that walked in after me. The selection of glasses has declined as well...very pitiful. On top of that you have to keep calling them to find out when your orders are ready while they place you on hold forever. If your insurance only covers one exam every 2 years you will end up paying out of pocket unless you order enough contacts for 2 years up front because you prescription will expire after 1 year. SMH! If you're trying to save time by bringing your family together at once to order, don't bother! They will act like you're wasting their time because of the additional orders. read more

I am typically only inclined to write yelp reviews if the service is amazing or otherwise extremely poor. Unfortunately, in this case, the service was poor. I walk into For Eyes on Lost Knife to look at frames and saw that the 4 associates working in the front were dealing with 4 clients, so I quietly looked a frames. I wasn't acknowledged or greeted, but I figured I would eventually be helped after waiting my turn. Two more people walk in and I noticed the associates greeted them. (oh well). Then 2 of the associates finished with their clients and offered to help the man that JUST WALKED IN. In fact, another associate offered to help this same man. HELLO? Am I wearing an invisible cloak? I had chosen the frames I wanted and had my prescription and insurance card IN MY HAND. It had been a good 15 minutes. This could have been quick and easy. My son & I went to see Dr Brodak in Feb. Havent been to For Eyes for about 4 years because our (former) favorite dr. left to work at another optical store. We will definitely be coming back to Dr. Brodak next year when time for our next eye exam.We both wear contacts & or eyeglasses full time. For Eyes has great prices for eyeglasses. We happened to go when they were having 1/2 off sale, which made them super reasonable. The staff in the optical dept. has worked there for many years and are always friendly & helpful. Sometimes it can be busy in both drs. office & optical dept. but they always spend just as much time with us as anyone else. Of note... Contact lens exams always cost extra no matter where you go, and its important to come back & get sample pairs checked to see how they fit, etc.. especially if your new to lenses or trying a new kind. Unless your eyes are super stable, sometimes you need to go more than once a year, because growing kids & older eyes can change in as little as 6 months. We have been to both costco and My eye dr, For eyes definitly has the best prices for glasses. My tip is to only order 6 month supply of contacts at a time so if your eyes do change your not stuck with lenses that dont work for you, and be sure to get a lens follow up exam before you order lenses!
