    Brisket Sandwich
    Colette G.

You can smell the flavors soon as you roll in! Ice cold beer, given frosted pint glass..that is a welcome surprise on a Hotlanta summer day! Bartender super friendly & helpful. Outdoor & indoor seating. Opted to eat at the bar since I'm alone. Had the beef brisket sandwich, upgraded to mac & cheese side instead of chips. Mac & cheese was disappointing. Not very cheesy. Tasted ok, but left me flat. The brisket however, was OMG good! Tender, melt in your mouth. Love that they ask you, do you want chopped or sliced, and THEN do you prefer fatty or lean! Anytime i am traveling in southrrn oart of country, i seek & destroy BBQ. Never had any place asked me my brisket preference! Gentleman who was bartender/server is originally from Alabama. And said this is the best BBQ anywhere around entire Atlanta area. In fact, he was a loyal patron for 3 years before woeking here. Says he brings his Mom anytime she visits. Obviously I was impressed, memorizing this guy's story! Love Ford's. Definitely will be back. My kid moving to area. Can't wait to bring other family to enjoy the experience of amazing BBQ!

The service was great. We called and ordered to-go 30 minutes before closing and they were happy to serve us. The atmosphere inside is a very casual and laid back bar style restaurant. We ordered 3 meat combination plates with fatty brisket, pulled pork, and smoked wings. The brisket was the perfect tenderness and fatty. The pulled pork unfortunately was dry. The wings were cooked pretty well. Their barbecue doesn't have a very strong smoked flavor, and the flavors weren't very pronounced. We ordered fried okra, collard greens, and fries. The okra was perfect, the greens were a bit spicy and vegetarian, the fries were your typical fry. It's a good spot for a quick bite.

The meat was fantastic but the sauces were too tally lacking. Besides the house sauce, the other sauces were okay at best. The plantains we had were awesome though and had some white sauce with cheese that elevated it, highly recommended. The service was quick and efficient even with a full crowd on the weekend. The vibes were awesome too cause they had a live DJ outside playing great music. Plenty of space to sit inside or outside.

First time at this location and it's close to me in my new neighborhood. The other location is near my job

So I visited on 8-4-2025 for the first time. I've been to the Tucker GA location countless times because it's near my job. The cashier understands the assignment here. Previously I got brisket nachos at the other location the first time I got them with the jalapenos in it I ate there. The second time I got it to go and I specifically asked could they put it to the side over the phone and when I received them it wasn't. I also got a brisket sandwich for me and some skin's. I got mom a brisket sandwich and 6 PC wings with fries. The brisket nachos here are the best I ever had in my life! The food is delicious. I ate the nachos on Monday night and had the rest for breakfast! This location is near me in my new neighborhood.

The Fresh Air Sandwich was really good and the fried okra was delicious. I also had the peach cobbler which I truly enjoyed. The service was friendly and quick.

This is my new favorite BBQ spot! We went here for dinner with my family, a couple of nights ago. I ordered the brisket nachos and they did not disappoint. The plate was bigger than my head and smothered in lean brisket, cheese, fresh, cilantro, onions, and really good chips! Highly recommend! My sister was a big fan of fried okra so we got some of that for the table and it was gone in about 5 seconds flat. Try it with the vinegar or mustard sauce that they have on the table for some extra flavor. For dessert, we tried the banana pudding. It too, was amazing. I wanted to eat more, but I was too full. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try so I came back the next day. I ordered the Birria tacos. If you want to know what heaven tastes like well, that was it. I already want more, but unfortunately, I'm back on the West Coast so I will have to wait until next time. Will be back to Ford's soon!!!

Looking for some BBQ near the house we are staying at. YELP directed us to Ford BBQ. Upon arrival approximately 1:30pm there was plenty of parking on the street and their shared parking lot. You could smell the smoke walking up to the door. Small little indoor seating but they have an outdoor patio with tables as well. There was 2 of us eating and we decided on a 3 meat combo with Turkey, Pork Ribs & Fatty Brisket. Our 2 sides were Green Beans & Potato Salad which was a family recipe made from scratch. The turkey was a tad dry, ribs were flavored well not fall off the bone type but good. The fatty brisket was good but not as fatty as I have had from other places. BBQ sauces vinegar, mustard and regular was more watery than thick. Came with 3 pieces of white sliced bread. The potato salad was good & tasted like homemade. The green beans were salty and we didn't eat any after. We both had their old fashion cocktail. It was ok.

Been hearing good things about this place so we gave it a shot and went here for a Tuesday night dinner. Tuesday nights here are music bingo nights so we caught the last part of it when we walked in. There were only a few people at the place when we walked in, and you basically sit yourself. Once we sat, our server dropped off menus for use to peruse. He came back shortly after for drinks, but we didn't get a chance to look at the drink menu yet so we ended up only ordering water. When we had the chance to look at the food and drink menu, we ended up ordering for drinks and food at the same time. Service here was great. Our food came out pretty quick. In terms of their BBQ flavor, I thought it was pretty good. I did order turkey so some pieces came out super dry while some were moist. Cucumber salad as a side was wonderful! I added some hot vinegar to my collards that made it taste just as good. The collards did have some meat pieces in it as well. We ordered banana pudding to go since it was around 8:30 pm when we finished eating and they close at 9. The banana pudding was delicious and the perfect ending to a night of grubbing on BBQ.

    Beef rib, mac, and fries!

Came here for the beef rib and it was delicious, beautifully smoked, tender, with a flavorsome crust, no sauce needed! Staff was super nice and helpful, even setting aside a rib over the phone (we paid in advance) as we were not sure we'd make it in time. Inside it feels like something of a cross between a typical BBQ joint and bar, and it looks like they could make a good cocktail though I did not order one.

Great BBQ spot right in the oakhurst neighborhood. They have great outdoor seating! Loved their menu. It was so difficult to choose! We got the build your own potato and a pulled pork plate. The potato was amazing! Definitely would order this everytime I go back!

It's adjacent to a parking deck and small. Very cozy, though! The menu is simple and it was a one-man show that day (other staff had left due to closing). LOVED IT! The coleslaw was really good and the Sammie was probably one of the freshest I've had. We had to wait a bit due to it being just him but worth the wait. I did the hot chick ... yeah, I can get away with saying that ... and it was huge, overflowing, tender and fresh. This is a SOLID spot. I was told they'd be re-opening nearby and I hope that's the case. They were BUSY as well so it's clearly not a customer issue. Check them out when they re-open. Simple and amazing!

Ok listen, this spot is in the cut wedged between Bank of America and the back of Cornerstone Bank. It has about 7 booths and 4 tables (mostly 2 tops). Customer service is warm and friendly, it always feels like you've known the guys working for years. Now the food...O.M.G. My favorite is the ATL chick which is juicy fried chicken breast tossed in buffalo sauce and... ANNNND... lemon pepper. Cmon. We're in ATL. What other way is there?! Then it has ranch drizzled on top and dressed how you want... lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. Even the bread is yummy. The sweet potato fries are crispy and airy and go great with the comeback sauce which is whatever smoky heavenly concoction they came up with as a sauce. Listen if you're in downtown Decatur... Do yourself a favor and get here! There is street parking available and you can pay by app or at the meter. It's about $2 for an hour. They also serve salads, other sandwiches, and breakfast. Small collection of beer, wine, and cocktails.

It can get packed later at night so I recommend coming earlier in the evening. The inside was pretty cozy but there are seats outside as well. Soon after we sat down, there was a live performer that played guitar and sang songs, she was so good! For the food, the ribs were delicious. The ribs fell right off the bone. 1/2 slab of ribs were more than enough for a meal. The rum baked beans and the collard greens were my personal favorite sides. This is a great neighborhood bbq place and I would def come back again!

This review is for delivery ordered via their website and fulfilled by DoorDash…read more In a word: underwhelming. Quarter Chicken: fine, I guess. Tender but lacking in flavor. If there was a rub, it was subtle to the point of being almost untasteable. Quarter rack of Ribs: poor. Meaty, but far too tough, definitely not fall off the bone. Again lacking in flavor, and burnt in spots. Side of Mac n Cheese: easily the start of the show. Very flavorful, baked and not swimming in cheese sauce, possible notes of ritz crackers detected. I'd have eaten a main course sized portion, and imagine it could mix well with pulled pork or chopped brisket, should Matt's ever consider expanding their repertoire of meats. Side of potato salad: also very solid. Simple but nicely flavored, just creamy enough. Side of collards: fine but unremarkable. Bbq sauce: decent-ish, more tangy than sweet. Very thick. Packaging : Matt's really could improve here. The ribs and chicken, piled together between two slices of white bread, was wrapped in white paper which was in turn stuffed into a paper bag with the containers of sides. This was messy- yes, bbq is by nature a messy undertaking, but a clamshell container would've made the whole fiasco a lot easier to deal with. A fork and spoon were included, no knife... and no napkins. Really? For a paper wrapped oversauced pile of meat... not even a single napkin? I honestly would've been fine paying an extra buck or so for some better packaging and, IDK, maybe a wetnap. Overall, this bbq lover was unimpressed. Perhaps the rave reviews made my expectations too high. I've honestly had better bbq at multiple places in my relative bbq desert hometown of Boston. I was hoping for a real treat during my business trip to Atlanta; instead, I'm yearning for the joint near my suburban New England home...
