I had been wanting to check this place out for the last two weeks I had been here, finally did and I was so pleased. I had never had bison before and I got the bison burger. I did get all the sauces on the side as I'm pretty picky. I didn't add anything to the burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had! This time I went for the BBQ bacon cheeseburger. It was large (1/2 lb) with fries, green beans, and a pint of Shiner Bock beer. The burger was very tasty, juicy, and served perfectly at medium (pink). Crystal had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. All were very good. She also had a motor-jito mojito. This place is always busy and looks like a fun place to go and have a few drinks , some beers along with a great meal; but that is not what happened on my first and probably only visit. Pulled pork nachos, were originally ordered but; for some reason we were told the restaurant was out of pork, so we settled for the chicken nachos, which were horrible. I'm giving it 4 stars. It's a theme restaurant with all kinds of Ford memorabilia and cars. It deserves a star for the atmosphere and theme. On cooler days they have the garage doors open to the parking lot. Having the doors open brings in a lot of street noise, but isn't that the whole point of the theme? It feels like you are in Ford's Garage. There are vintage Ford cars hanging over each bar area. The wheels on the car spin slowly. My first visit was with my mother. She really got into the whole theme. It brought up discussions about my grandfather who had a black Ford back in the day. She also loved the honking of the horn at the bar, and the overall décor (restroom included). Other than that, the service can be hit or miss. There were times that we had to wait a long time to get our check, but for the most part the service has been friendly and helpful. At one time they would let you sample a new beer on tap if you were undecided. I'm not sure if they still do that or not but they certainly do have a good list of craft beers. I also remember being disappointed with a burger I ordered when they first opened. I felt like the burger wasn't seasoned enough. I think it was called the Cali-Rocker burger and it was a special burger for Breast Cancer Awareness month. I did like all the toppings which included goat cheese and avocado. I also liked their rum cake. It was a nice moist yellow cake soaked in dark Bacardi rum (with a walnut topping) and served with vanilla ice cream. I don't see it on their menu anymore, but get it if you do see it. My most recent experience was for takeout. My husband had a business lunch there the other day. He asked me what I wanted and brought it back to me nice & warm. I got the Estate Burger which was actually quite tasty. It was better than the burgers I had my previous visits. This one had smoked gouda cheese, onion jam, arugula, onion straws, and white truffle bacon aioli on a half pound black angus burger. I know, it's just a burger that you can make at home and I have to say that my husband couldn't believe the cost. I have to agree. The burger by itself was an estate price of $15 (just for the sandwich). The bill actually came to about $20 when adding tater tots plus tax. It's hard to justify, but it was a tasty burger. It was also cooked a perfect medium which is what I wanted. The tater tots where just tater tots. Yes, I'd probably get the burger again but my husband not so much. He was not impressed with his fish and chips, nor with the Firestone shrimp appetizer that he had during lunch. He said it was okay, but just didn't think it was worth the price. You'll just have to see for yourself. I'd say it's worth a couple of visits but I'd pick the less busier times to go there. It gets very busy and service is lackluster at peak times. The parking lot is always full, but there are plenty of places to park. There is outdoor seating as well. Overall love, Fords and love this location specifically always had a great experience there. I feel like the to go food is a real hit or miss depending on the day. Sometimes it taste just like you get it at the restaurant and sometimes it's a total mess but I have never had a bad experience there on site.
