This place has some wonderful reviews so we were looking forward to dining at Ford's. Today was our first (and likely last) visit to Ford's Garage. To start, their atmosphere was fun if not a bit loud, which is to be expected. The restaurant was playing music, but I do need to note that someone seemed to change the music in the middle of songs playing, and that was a bit distracting. We went on a Sunday afternoon, the waitstaff was very friendly. We were greeted by the hosts and quickly seated as there was no wait. Our server, B, came by to introduce themself, and they were honestly the best part of our dining experience. B was knowledgeable about the menu and some options and was happy to check in on us while we decided what to order. It isn't an enormous menu, but they do have some good options. We ordered two burgers, one was the Estate Burger that comes with truffle fries, and the other the Black and Bleu burger with coleslaw instead of fries. Additionally, we ordered a side of Mac & cheese. The Estate Burger was ordered as rare as possible, and the Black & Bleu medium rare. Well, both burgers were wrong. The black and Bleu was cooked medium-well despite the stick in the bun that indicated that it was supposed to be cooked medium rare. There was a noticeable lack of Bleu cheese on this burger, but the bacon was nice and crispy. The coleslaw portion was so tiny. It was free to sub for the fries, but it looked like a sad afterthought. The Estate Burger was cooked well-done with 0 pink to be found. I regret not taking pictures. The red onion jam that came with the burger was tasty, but I couldn't get over the texture of the overcooked meat. I also didn't find the truffle fries to have any hint of truffle flavor or oil. I couldn't smell or taste any. I honestly think they just gave me regular fries. The side of Mac and cheese came in a little black plastic pot but was only maybe half full. The spiral cavatelli noodles were a nice touch and cooked perfectly, but my Mac and cheese was cold, and unfortunately it's just cheap Velveeta cheese and not worth the 5.99 to order as a side, in my opinion. I did let B know about the burger and showed them that it was wrong and they immediately apologized, ready to offer solutions to fix it, get a new one, or take a new one to go. Overall, the staff and atmosphere are good reasons to stop by, but generally, the cost for the food, portion sizes, and quality does not add up. read more

I had the a half rack of ribs with coleslaw and a side salad. The food was excellent. The server was always watchful, and our drinks stayed full. Their unique automotive garage decor was fun and was smartly presented as a high-end, yet informal, bar food experience. We visited this restaurant the last week of 2022 when we spent a couple days in town. When I realized there was a Ford's Garage Restaurant I had to go try it out. Had heard positive things about these restaurants and wanted to check it out for myself. There was a wait when we arrived so we walked around the surrounding area, which has different stores/shops, to pass time. The Nachos App as well as the Firestone shrimp were very good. All of our burgers came out perfectly and tasted great. We were a group of 6 and were all happy with our meals. Would definitely recommend to try it out if in the area and in the mood for a burger. read more

Good atmosphere. The wings were good. The Monte Cristo was so saturated in grease, I had to pull off the bread and just eat the inside. The mushroom burger was under seasoned. The tots were not crispy and also saturated in oil like the fryer wasn't hot enough. Not worth the price. I had heard people rave about it so we tried it. Very disappointing. I won't go back. $76 for 3 sandwiches and 1 order of wings, 2 teas and 1 water. Oh, and never got a water refill. read more

The mushroom swiss burger was not for me. It was very dry and the bun was too big for the burger making the first bites be just bun. The burger was dry and the no sauce made it even dryer. The restaurant itself is very nice ambiance. The whole restaurant is decorated with car things and very nice inside. Lots of different lights and decorations. The service is amazing . There's a lot of servers which I loved and we got our food out so quick it's was amazing . Was charged $5.99 for the soup, which measured less than one cup and was the worst tasting soup I have ever had. When the waiter asked how our food was, I expressed my distaste of the soup. Only giving 2 stars to this place. 1 star for gluten free bun option. The other star because the servers were attentive. The ambiance is what you would expect from a themed chain restaurant. I asked for a medium burger, mine was fine. My husband and ordered a medium rare it was done the same as mine. The food was not hot when it came out. However, because of our server Leslie, this came very close to a 5. In fact, I left there les than an hour ago and I felt compelled to write a review. I walked in looking for a specific beer (Orange Blossom) and she proceeded to recommend a beer. Mind you, she doesn't drink. The recommendation. was outstanding, so I drank two. Also, I never eat salmon in a place that specializes in burgers. In my experience, it's a recipe for disaster. When I asked her, she told me that it's is one of her favorite things in the menu because the blackened seasoning was great, and that I wouldn't be sorry. Thumbs Down - This was my first time visit to Ford's Garage. For appetizers, I chose the Nachos which was mainly nachos with a bite of chicken chunks. For entree, I chose the Estate Burger which was served cold and they omitted the onion straws. For entree, tater tot's which were not Ore Ida. Don't get your hopes up. That was my mistake. When looking for a place to take mom for Mother's Day, I saw on the brunch menu they have a Monte Cristo sandwich. I haven't had one of those in years so I was looking forward to it. Woke up that morning and coordinated what time to be there. First I thought early afternoon, but we decided to beat the rush. Ford's Garage opens at 10:30am so we decided to get there around 11:30am. Brunch was suppposed to be from 10:30am to 3:00pm. We got there around 11:30am and were told 20 minute wait. I guess you are supposed to wait outside because there really isn't a place inside to wait unless you you go to the bar to wait. It was pretty warm outside so we just crowded around the front desk area. Standing of course because there were no seats. It took about 30 minutes to be seated, party of 7. We all ordered. I guess the Monte Cristo is supposed to come with breakfast potatos but they were out. That's ok, substituting tater tots would be fine. I just wanted the sandwich anyway, I could care less about the side. About 10-15 minutes later the manager came over and said they were out of the Monte Cristo. That was the only thing I wanted, I knew before we got there what I wanted, I didn't even need the menu so I didn't really look at it. I couldn't remember what else was on the menu so the manager brought over the dinner menu and said I could order anything on it. Lol. That was what I thought about the Monte Cristo also. It wasn't the brunch menu so I couldn't find the other brunch items everyone else was having so my sister went to get a brunch menu for me. I really couldn't find anything else I wanted from either menu but I was going to settle for the Belgian waffle. It was supposed to have some berries and candied walnuts and maybe some other stuff, I didn't pay attention. I ordered that but then after talking for a few minutes, my sister thought since I wasn't really into it, it would be better to just cancel it. That was probably a good idea because mom had ordered one and it was missing the candied walnuts. I would have been disappointed again if I had decided to keep that order. But enough about me. Everyone else's food wasn't warm. No one likes cold eggs, right? I don't think anyone really enjoyed their meal. The server was good, no complaints there. The atmosphere and design of the place was cool. There were some interesting features like the fuel nozzle faucet in the restrooms to wash your hands. The urinals were beer kegs. There were old engines on display, some of them turning slowly from an electric motor hidden inside. A lot of retro looking gas station type signs. The manager sucks. His name was Richard. He came over to apologize but it was fake. He seemed to offer excuses, but no solutions. I know losing one customer doesn't really matter for a National chain restaurant and I don't want to tell others not to go here, but if you go...don't get your hopes up. There is the possibility you will be disappointed and Richard won't care. So best of luck to you all but you won't see me there. p.s. I should have looked at some of the other reviews before going here. It might have saved me a trip. At the end of a delightful meal one of the ladies in our group had a medical emergency and fainted in the middle of the restaurant. The managers swiftly gave assistance and called 911. The food was alright. But the overriding factor that would prevent me from returning would be the exceedingly loud music. You have to shout at your fellow dinner. When I brought it to the attention of the manager he said that's what corporate wanted. I originally contacted the corporate office but they sent it to him to respond to. This is all too common today with large corporations, the local entity can do nothing about most complaints, "it's what corporate wants", end of story. He did mention when the weather gets warmer we could sit outside where the music might be less loud. read more

Server was very good and attentive although bad with names! Food unfortunately left a lot to be desired especially with the bill total. Chicken nachos had not much chicken or cheese and more bbq sauce than anything. Pretzels were good but needed ground mustard not sweet that they served and cheese so thick you could barely get any. A neighbor encouraged us to try this place since we love burgers. My husband especially is not a fan of large burgers so we both ordered the roadster burger, which is 1/3 of a pound. All the other burgers are much larger--1/2 lbs. The roadster comes with pickles, romaine lettuce, American cheese, tomatoes and onions. Condiments are on the table. My husband customized his burger with Swiss, rather than American cheese. You have your burgers cooked to order, and we requested medium. They also come with fries, or you can substitute another side. Our burgers were excellent. Very tasty. The brioche bun has Ford's Garage branded on the top. Everything was delicious. I enjoyed my fries. They are crispy, with seasonings, on the outside, soft potato-y on the inside. My husband was not as big a fan--although he likes crispy fries, he prefers shoestring if they're going to be crispy. We saw a table order onion rings to share, and he might substitute that for the fries next time we go. We will return. We got there for an early dinner, around 5 pm, on a Saturday, and by the time we left there was a line forming out the door. The decor is very cool--car engines, a large Ford Model T hanging above the bar, tall gas pumps. Lots of big screen TV's to view sports. Our server was great; she apologized that we weren't waited on immediately as there seemed to be a mixup as to who would be waiting on our table. But all was good. My husband was starting to get impatient but she quickly got things moving with our drinks, and we didn't have to wait long for our burgers. I saw prior reviews complained about the wait staff and/or getting cold food, but we didn't experience a major problem. Ford's Garage is a great addition to Gainesville and we will certainly be back! read more
