A pajama night and wine? Sign me up! There is parked and according to their website, they do free tastings. Since it was an after hours event, we didn't do a tasting. I had a glass of the half-hearted wine while waiting for the rest of our group to show up. Once the party arrived, we bought a bottle of Bam! and enjoyed catching up. The barn is beautiful and available for rental. They have been having event nights once a month with both beer and wine available for purchase. I'm looking forward to coming back and checking out their full wine list! The wines I tasted were right up my alley.

It is a nice venue for weddings and parties. We got to taste a few wines (mostly the sweet wines). Im not big on red wine I prefer my wine sweet. They do also have wine slushees in Grape and Cherry flavored. I had grape of course and it was delicious. I even bought a bottle of their wine but, you can only buy the bottles there and it's not sold in stores. It is a small family owned winery. And the lady that hosted our tasting was a great host and gave us the backstory of the place. I do plan on returning at some point in time. This is an awesome getaway from the city if your ever looking for an escape from it.

She was the only one there and had a few guests to help and she said she was having a bad day but you'd never know. She made my bf and I feel more than welcome and took care of us. We got a small charcuterie with nuts, meats and cheeses and added olives. The charcuterie was not what I was expecting from a winery. It was more of an adult lunchable than charcuterie. The cheese was like that precut Cracker Barrel cheese found in the store. I would have like to have had some freshly grated parmesan or mozzarella. Something that would pair well with the wines. I'm not a fan of Swiss. Love Colby jack and cheddar but those don't really go with the wines I had. I got a flight of white wines that are numbered in my 2nd picture. They were all pretty good but 1 & 4 were my favorites. I was able to taste a new wine slush they're offering. I chose the red wine slush over the white moscato one. I fell in love with it. I tried to get one to go but was unable to due to them not having approved to go containers for them My boyfriend got a flight of premium bourbon which he enjoyed. While I haven't seen this movie in decades, I'm always in for a niche-themed event. And this one was great and lively with fun questions, screening on the patio and themed gift pack. If you see a themed event on the calendar at Wine Shop, go to it! And this quirkiness fits with the rest of the shop as well, with a curated selection of wine to buy by the bottle or glass, bright and colorful interior and fun food options, ranging from cheese boards to a one-of-a-kind instant ramen snack. Lauren, one of the owners, is knowledgeable about wine and so fun to chat with. I'm really looking forward to coming back here!

Wine with an amazing view? Yes please!…read more The Ridge Winery & Tasting Room knows how to make an afternoon of enjoying wine. I met my family there over the weekend for a fun lunch. The Ridge allows BYOFood, so we brought a spread. And then we bought wine from them. My favorite was the Blackberry Table Wine, which was sweet but balanced. We took over a table on the large patio that overlooks the Ohio River. And man, what a view. There was slight breeze and ample room for everyone to sit, while being socially distant. We watched barges slowly make their way down the river while we chatted and drank. And then inside, The Ridge has a small but fun gift shop. My mom and aunt bought a cheeky glass and T-shirt. The Ridge also offers tastings in case you want to try several fruit wines. I've had better wine in Kentucky/Indiana, but The Ridge's wine plus view and overall atmosphere makes this a must-visit.

I loved every wine I tried and brought several bottles home (which were consumed within a week or so). The tasting room is connected to a couple's home but it isn't weird at all (b/c I thought it would be!) It was so enjoyable to taste the wine, chat with the owners (who were hilarious and in love), then buy our glasses of wine to relax on the deck for girl talk and river views. We decided to try Prodigy because it was the first one we say on the road sign and it was open (a lot of places were closed due to the snow). The property is beautiful. It's very spacious and has a very nice view of an open field. We were also greeted by the sweetest cats. One walked right up to us when we got out of the car and immediately wanted to be petted. We were greeted at the tasting room by more affectionate cats and dogs! The tasting room has a bunch of decorated shelves with the bottles ready for purchase and a lot of horse themed items. We decided to go a tasting which comes with 6 different wines. The presentation was my favorite part because each wine was in a different beaker. We enjoyed the wine. My husband loved the blueberry wine so much, he bought a bottle right on the spot. We absolutely loved Prodigy and hope to come back soon.
