If you are in a pinch, this place will do. The state parks in the area can get filled up, especially on the weekends. This is what happened and how we found ourselves at "Forest Lake Resorts." The place is actually a combo trailer park, RV hook-up, and small campsites. The lady who manages the place is very curmudgeonly. The place is safe, and they have semi-clean bathrooms, which was nice. But I wouldn't recommend this place unless you were in a pinch. We ended up camping at Saddle Mountain the next night instead - which was beautiful, less expensive, and was "hosted" by this really sweet lady named Monica who works for the parks department. Not sure how to rate as it was the only place left to camp! Lady was a little off but I think just lonely!! Was just my husband and I and as we spent most time in Seaside it worked great! DONT COME HERE STAY AWAY!!! This was the worst camp/TRAILER PARK ever! There was only one toilet in the mens room and one toilet in the womens room, two showers in the mens room with only one functioning this was all there was for the well over 150 people who camped out there. The showers were very dirty, with some sort of slime on the wall, soap scum not being cleaned. Threw out the whole campsite it was VERY muddy. The sign entering the RV on the freeway was never lit so at night it was very easy to miss (learned that the hard way) All of the above was pretty bad, but the worst was the TRAILER PARK MANAGER she made our stay there a NIGHTMARE!!! We are 4 families that camp out together 3 to 4 times a year. We had a total of 4 small tents and 3 rv hook ups. As we pulled into the sight the MANAGER separated all of us because she stated " I DONT WANT FAMILIES TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY MAKE TO MUCH NOISE" " I SLEEP WITH MY WINDOW OPEN AND IF I HEAR NOISE AFTER 10PM YOU DONT KNOW WHAT KIND OF A MODE IM IN, AND I WILL JUST KICK YOU OUT" This immediately caused tention and stress on our 3 night family vacation in seaside. From there she became the TRAILER PARK MANAGER FROM HELL!! First morning she came knocking on our RV at 7 in the morning yelling at us because we had put a tent next to our RV and she didnt want it there. So as we are taking it down she yells at me, I WANT THIS DOWN NOW! so of course i yelled back at her GIVE ME ONE GOD DAMN MINUTE! She then kicked me out of the park!! WTF! i ignored her and stayed in the park. this was one of many psycho control tantrums that she would have with us and many other campers. She kicked out a total of 3 families that i knew of while we were there. There are no rules or guides posted anywhere, she makes them up as she goes along, this is a nightmare trailer park, with a trailer park manager from hell! DONT COME HERE, STAY AWAY! read more

After reading all of the reviews let's just say we were beyond hesitant to stay here. Once you get over the initial shock of the place it is not at all that bad. Yes, it is a little creepy at first but I wouldn't judge a book by its cover. If you are someone that needs things fancy this is NOT for you. For a peaceful place to camp this does just fine. The manager was very eccentric but very kind , not like the negative things we heard. As long as you aren't loud or rude she is very nice. The bathrooms are a little run down but she keeps them clean everyday. This is a camping spot not the Hilton so just keep that in mind. As much as we thought we would regret staying here we were pleasantly surprised. Give it a chance. We are glad we did. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE... unless you like Rob Zombie Horror movies or the movie "the Hills have eyes" Calling to book a reservation was already an odd experience... but figured hey it was pretty cheap and its a camp ground. "It can't be that bad!" I was asked to call the personal phone of the manager on the morning I was leaving to make sure they had room, even when I called earlier in the week and was told I had a reservation... but to be sure I needed to call the morning of my arrival. I called and was told... when I arrive please state what time I called so she could remember what reservation I had. Ok... so I jumped through the hoops and was on my way. I arrive there and cross a barely there road and a rickety old bridge into a creepy, dirty trailer park. I rounded the road thinking surely this cant be it... maybe we have to drive a ways to get to the campground. NOPE! There was a small patch of grass next to the trailers for tent camping. I was camping with a small group of women and we all immediately got the willies and left. This did not seem like a safe/good place to camp. We found a great place down the street and had a wonderful weekend! read more

If you ever find yourself wanting to be treated like a trespasser, stay here. This was one of the most surreal experiences of our traveling careers. After navigating a VERY poorly kept road and crossing a questionable (at best) bridge we were trapped in a park with no exits. The manager was the most inhospitable person I have ever dealt with while traveling. Among other things, she would not let me move a sandwich board sign aside to allow me to turn my trailer around, she wanted me to back up through the whole freaking campsite. I had to jig jog for 15 minutes to get out of there. If you ever want to meet the cast of Deliverance; go here, you won't be disappointed. After speaking to some people with authority in town, I found out that this park doesn't even have a business licence but they aren't within city limits so nothing can be done. If I could give negative stars, I would give this one a -5 rating! Steer clear of this place, save your children!! read more

Like everyone said in their reviews! Stay away if you can! If i really have to compare, this place is a bit creepy especially if you camp without much people around. Crossing the small bridge alone that creaks and looks like it's gonna break is yet enough to drive people away. And that's not the worst part, the worst part is the manager herself who rents out the camping space, wow she will eat you alive while you're sleeping. She looks like one of those cannibals in the scary movie that want you to be separated from your party so she can hunt you down and eat you one by one. Okay maybe that is a bit extreme but seriously...I asked if she had any opening (which I'm sure because of all the empty spaces) then she asked how many (grumpy voice). I told her 2 for now but a few more will be coming. She immediately said NO and said she doesn't like that people come in and bring in more people. I told her it was just my family and she was like "I don't care, I hate when people come in and bring in more after them". She looked at me like she's ready to kill me, then i left and she begin following me which was weird. Glad I didn't park to far off from my car. We decided to just play at seaside for the day and left back home that night. This place is very strange. It is not very well marked so you can easily pass it up. The owner lives in a dump on the campground sight its self but she is nice. However, my boyfriend and i came back from dinner after he "quiet time" started and she walked up to us to "let us know quiet time started". It was annoying because we are adults and do not have a curfew. We were quiet about everything we did and the warning wasn't warranted. The traffic from he highway was loud in the morning but that can't be changed. The bathrooms were relatively clean and the sites weren't too bad. All had fire pits. Just a warning, you have to cross a wooden bridge to get to the sites which is cool-but there are signs saying that you have to get permission before crossing. But just go across because there isn't another way to get to the campgrounds that I'm aware of. Overall it was okay. We were desperate for a place to stay and it was good enough for what we needed. read more

We had been go to this campground for 3 years 2 to 3 times a year and last year we pulled in with are family of 4 adults and 5 kids and was told that we had to many people and could not stay even though we had the exact same number of people as always. We had reservations for 2 different sites in advance that were not honored. The manager had previously always been pleasant, if a little stern, in the past but this time she seemed disoriented, confused, and unwilling to even work with us. We called and booked our reservation over the phone and were told they accept dogs. When we got there, it was quite "iffy" looking and immediately I was nervous about staying there. But, since all the other campgrounds were full, we decided to keep driving through, over their questionable and rickety bridge. We saw a sign that said all dogs must be leashed, but finding the "office" was a little difficult. When we pulled up to the "office" trailer... we immediately saw the owner/manager? standing outside smoking, we stopped the car and before we even got out to introduce ourselves. She started waving her finger at us and shaking her head. My husband got out and said hi anyway, and she said in a very rude tone "You gotta Pit Bull! You can't stay here!" My husband said, "What,? We have a dog..." "And she kept repeating that our Pit Bull wasn't allowed because it would frighten the other customers. First of all, on no website does it say a breed restriction, nowhere on her premises did we find a sign stating a breed restriction and she never told us over the phone. The place is creepy and not very well maintained and she thinks a well-behaved dog (who was sitting nicely in the backseat between my two children) is going to scare away customers? She did not care in the least that we had two small kids with us, that everywhere else was full, that it was her error for not specifying over the phone there were breed restrictions and that we were now essentially stranded in Seaside. She wouldn't let my dog even get out of the car or meet her to see how well-behaved she is. I heard they don't have a business license and if that is the case, they most likely don't have insurance for the place... it reminded me out of a scene from a horror movie and although she put us in a HORRIBLE spot of trying to find somewhere to go in Seaside at 4pm on a summer Saturday, I am thankful we did not stay there. It didn't seem safe or welcoming at all. Its cheap and that is what drives people in, but I prefer to feel safe where I am and I would never give someone that rude my business. I suggest booking somewhere else and in advance, we learned our lesson about planning a trip last minute. Also, if I would have read their reviews on yelp and google beforehand, we would have not gone... sounds like quite a few people have had problems with this place. I honestly wish I could give zero stars. Places who discriminate against certain breeds of dogs are not anyone I would want to do business with anyway. read more
