Well, it's been over a year. My friend Harry was a patient here in his last few months and they…read moretook great care of him. This time it was my turn. I had been at Oak Hill hospital for some medical problems and found out I had a-fib and they did a lot of tests and then they sent me here and I got Rehab. I'm getting older so they got me a walker. I gotta find some tennis balls for it. They treated me very nice. A lot of the nurses spoke Spanish so I was in heaven because I love learning new words in Spanish. I highly recommend Oak Hill senior living. It's not just a nursing home or a rehab center. It's everything, you can even live here as assisted living patient in a little apartment. Thank you for what you did for me, Oak Hill. I just missed the sweet elderly ladies that I met there. There were anywhere in age from 85 to 99 years old, they were so sweet!!

Tha nursing staff, PT dept, Social work were all professional. With one or two exceptions, the CNA's were uncaring, very slow to respond to call lights, impatient, at times disrespectful, If you or your loved one need more care than changing the sheets or handing you a meal tray. If you'd like help with personal care, kindness and respect do not be admitted here. Perhaps administration should take closer. Looks at who they hire to be a CNA at their facility.

A difficult decision became wonderfully easy when we found Spring Oaks! From our very first visit…read morewe knew this place was different, very different. My fiancée's Mother was living in Tampa. She's a smart and witty woman, who raised a beautiful daughter! Our path in life includes ensuring Mom is happy and safe. We needed to find a caring and nurturing home closer to us, in Brooksville. By comparing the facility Mom was leaving and by our own previous combined experiences we knew exactly what to look for and what to expect. The day we were welcomed into Spring Oaks was a day we'll never forget! First, and foremost, is the incredible group of folks that make up the Spring Oaks family of employees. They embody all of the traits that any care givers should strive to attain. The continuous displays of sympathy and attention we witness are genuine and sincere. This includes not just the care staff but also the administrative and ancillary staff. To say the staff of Spring Oaks loves their residents is a huge understatement! Mom absolutely LOVES her new home and her new friends. We love that she is not just sleeping the day away or taking up space in a corner. Every day there are a variety of planned activities to keep the residents moving, thinking and laughing. With a piano in the main lobby, we never know who might take up tickling the ivories! As the music begins, the crowd grows and the voices lift in harmony! We LOVE singing along. Mom's favorite activity is Bingo!, of which she brags about her winning prowess. Another point I must discuss? The food. Not what you'd expect for an 'institutional' setting. The residents enjoy their meals in an informal dining room, seated at a table with three of their friends. The kitchen prepares a diverse variety of cuisine, including daily soups, main dishes and desserts. On holidays they prepare traditional fare, too. We know because we've tasted some amazing Corned Beef on St Patrick's Day and complete turkey dinners at Thanksgiving, for example. The staff always invites us to dine if we'd care to, not just for special occasions. As I am writing this review, I've found it more challenging than usual to translate my thoughts and feelings onto blank screen. Entrusting strangers with a loved one's care can be a daunting task. In so many instances there may be feelings of settling, of helplessness or even guilt. These are normal reactions typically, as we must walk away, virtually turning our backs on those who may have raised us and were there for us. BUT, my delightful conundrum is that I/we have NONE of those feelings about Spring Oaks and Mom being a part of that beautiful family. We, and she, feel the love and care each moment of every day. WE are wonderfully WOW'd!

She had been diagnoses with the onset of dementia and was told she would probably not get better. The staff at Spring Oaks are wonderful! And the change in my Mother in 6 short months is a miracle! She can walk, she can now dress and feed herself. I wish I could show you a before and after picture, so you can see the return of my Mom. She loves it at Spring Oaks. She has lots friends and keeps busy doing activities. Her mental condition has remarkably improved. I credit a lot of this miracle to the staff and people at Spring Oaks. The people that work there care. They are friendly and have treated my mom with love and respect. They pushed my Mom to get involved with activities and engaged with her like family. My Mom now calls Spring Oaks "Home". When I took my mom to Spring Oaks I trusted them to care of her...they did way more than that.

New…read moreresident to Florida with no job yet, so knew I'd be paying out of pocket, but I didn't 't want to face another sleepless night. Now, I can excuse the long wait time - they were busy - and tolerate the indifferent office staff, but not the poor care. They said I had strep throat. I was given a printout that has nothing I couldn't Google myself. When I asked the woman who handed me the papers a question, she said it's all in the printout. My wife had driven me over and waited patiently while I was in there. She asked me what pharmacy they were sending me to. I diodn't see it on the paperwork and went back into the office to ask. One of the two indifferent office staff told me it was oin the first page. Nope. Took the paperwork back inside and the other one, who had handed me the papers, said I wasn't being given a prescription. So I paid $95 of my hard-earned money to be told to "get better," and if my symptions got worse, go to the ER. Wow. This is some way to do business. Google's Gemini states that "The most common cause of a sore throat is a virus, not bacteria. In this case, antibiotics would be ineffective and potentially harmful by contributing to antibiotic resistance. A proper diagnostic test, like a rapid strep test or throat culture, is necessary to determine the cause." That's fine, but they didn't do a strep test. The NP looked at my throat and said it was strep because of how red it was. The Nurse Practioner who saw me did not say anything other than that I should change my tooth brush. So I would say the strikes against this particular facility are incompetent care and snide, indifferent office staff. Considered lodging a formal complaint but chose not to. Would never go back and would never recommend them.
