If I could give zero stars, I would. This place was an absolute disaster. We waited two full hours for our food--with no updates, no apologies, and barely any acknowledgment that we even existed. When the food finally arrived, half of our order was missing. Not wrong. Missing. We had to remind the server (twice) about what was missing, and they just kept saying "it's coming right out." Spoiler: it never did. We ended up leaving hungry and frustrated, and honestly, I wish we had just walked out 45 minutes in. The food we did get was mediocre at best--definitely not worth the wait, or the price. No manager ever stopped by, and there was zero sense of urgency from the staff. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect basic competence. This place delivered neither. Save your time, your money, and your patience. Go literally anywhere else. read more

I don't think I've been so impressed with a restaurant in a very long time. My husband was in gluten free heaven!! We got the coconut shrimp, the cream of crab soup (the portion was two bowls worth!) a burger and the chicken manchego sandwich - everything was absolutely delicious! I would not recommend this restaurant for larger family reservations. We sat down for dinner at 5:30 PM and didn't receive any food until 6:30 PM. We ordered our mains while still waiting on our appetizers, and it wasn't until 7:45 PM that two of the ten entrees were brought to the table. Nearly all the others came out incorrect. The chicken in the lettuce wraps was undercooked, and the steak and cheese sandwich arrived without any cheese. Our server started off attentive, but as the evening went on, we were never checked on--no drink refills, no follow-up on our meals, nothing. This restaurant seriously needs to evaluate both their kitchen and service staff. We haven't read more

Cool setting. Just went for quick apps with my husband around lunch time to hold us over until dinner. I have to eat gluten free so my options were limited, but there were a couple things that caught my eye! We got the Brazilian cheese bread, which was delicious. There are only 4 little pieces so it's not a large portion. We also got the crab guacamole which was great, but the portion size was very small for the price! Half of the bowl that it came in was filled with arugula. Would have liked a larger portion or at least the guacamole. read more

Arrived a little early so followed Hostess recommendation to sit at the bar and she'd come get us when table was ready. Met Adam, the Bartender. Outstanding Gluten Free Menu! 3 pages of choices from soups, salads, appetizer s, sandwiches & entrees. I had the Buffalo gnocchi to start & the fig & prosciutto grilled cheese sandwich on GF bun, which was made down the street at the bakery...no frozen store brand! Folks at my table had the nopales (grilled cactus) tacos, jerk chicken sandwich & salmon burger. Everything was delicious & fresh. The staff were all very friendly & seemed to enjoy working there. I stumbled upon this place in Berlin Maryland while I was having some service work done to my car from a shop up the road. I had an excellent dirty martini and a fantastic onion soup. My server was the bartender at the bar, she could not have been nicer. This is an interesting place, they actually do have a distillery in operation making gin and vodka. I have not reviewed for a while. Mainly because many places don't inspire me, especially post Covid. But this place is a gem. This place is an exception. This place is a hidden treasure. The atmosphere is warm and casual while the food is upscale. A rare combination these days. The arugula salad was perfect. I loved that the dressing was on the bottom to mop up the goodness. I hate soggy salads. The beets and fried goat cheese is not unusual but perfected somehow. The onion soup was excellent topped with Texas size bread. Savory! The mini burgers hit the spot. Locally sourced beef. And the bartender, Terri, is a pro! Beautiful cocktails and the best Manhattan I ever had. And say hello to Cana because she is super special too. Came in and had a really nice meal. We had heard that this recently opened place was good. It's true. There were a few glitchy things - I felt the menu was limited (at least more than I expected - but I do get that a larger menu does not always equal better food) and it felt like they were still getting their stride. Nothing tragic, just not quite there yet. In my opinion; when they hit full stride, I suspect they'll be a 5 star place. We had a big table (9 of us) and the server did a great job keeping up. Everyone got what they ordered and she was friendly and helpful. The ambiance had a warmer fee than most of the industrial modern vibe, at least it did to me. This place is apparently brand new, and I appreciate the guts and effort from the owners, distiller etc.. Our bartender was awesome and informative. He was overly focused on each drinks which was appreciated, though time consuming. The food was a bit of a reach, though from a P&L pov, I get the vision here. The lobster salad at $22 was a chilled 1/8 lobster and a ton of leafy veg. Borderline offensive upon arrival. I ordered that with a side of fries, which turned out to be frozen at best, thinking I'd be good. Nope. Added a flatbread on. $77 for one person. Don't get wrong, there's a time and a place for high end, craft specific places. But as an outsider from northern DE, this place is going to offend a lot MD locals with their price point vs yield. The newly opened and patiently awaited Forgotten 50 is everything we hoped for! 5 star service and ambiance! The design is such an industrial and unique feel to Berlin. The bartender did some tasting with us, which was a delight. Tried some things I hadn't before. Shared clams casino, skirt steak, and corn salsa add the lump crab. The chimichurri sauce was the best I've ever had! Steak cooked perfect. And the corn salsa was so good, adding the lump crab was the best touch. First time trying clams casino, cheesy. We went here this past Saturday night, great little restaurant with a few tables up front plenty of outdoor seating for the season and a nice bar space with live music in the back. The food was very good we had all three of the Oktoberfest specials and the crab guacamole. Brats, potato salad and schnitzel all excellent as was the Crab Guacamole. The pretzels missed the mark a bit. It was a nice attempt but the pretzels were no airy like the yeast didn't rise. The beer cheese was good in flavor but grainy in texture. We had a few cocktails all fabulous and beautifully presented. Service definitely has an opportunity to improve. Overall we enjoyed and will probably return. read more

I don't usually write a review after a first visit, but our experience was so wonderful, I just have to pass word along. We thought the menu looked interesting but had no idea how truly creative, exciting, and delicious the food would be. But, first things first: it is easy to get to this place-you don't have to go into the center of town- and easy for parking in their large lot. We were greeted by a super friendly woman on the bar side who lead us into the dining area and took our drink order. (I wish I had gotten her name) When she brought my husband's beer the glass was only half full and she apologized and said that they were opening a new keg and this was the end of the current one. She wanted to bring this small bit in the meantime for him to have something to drink-without charge. How nice! Then a bit later, she brought a full glass that looked great to me with a half inch of foam on the top and apologized again saying that the manager thought it wasn't quite ready to serve. My husband-who knows his beers-told her it looked just fine and he pronounced it perfect for an "early" beer and he enjoyed it a lot. From that point, our server switched to Raelyn who was sweet, lovely and super helpful in making our selections. I decided to start with the lettuce cups with plum sauce and they were excellent and plentiful. For the price, I was frankly not expecting such a large portion. For our "mains" hubby got the cheeseburger with fries. The burgers were hand pattied and perfectly cooked and the fries were terrific! (I ended up stealing a bunch of them-they were addictive) My main was the Salmon and Sauteed Spinach in a carrot/ginger sauce. I was a bit hesitant about ordering this since the sauce sounded strange but it turned out to be fantastic! I am a (HUGE!) sauce person so I was thrilled to see this entree served in a bowl with a ladle of the sauce in the bottom and the perfectly cooked salmon on top. (The spinach was just under the fish and it was excellent too) I did not make any specifications so I was extremely impressed that the salmon had a crispy bark outside while the interior was juicy and tender. When both of us take a bite of a dish and then say "WOW!" in unison, you can be sure that it is something very special. To top off this amazing meal, we decided to try the bread pudding. It was another "WOW!" with both if us claiming it to be the best we've had in decades. We only have one complaint: we are now going to have a very difficult time trying any of the other restaurants in Berlin (which are getting great reviews) since we will want to go back to Forgotten 50 each time we visit! read more

I've been waiting for Forgotten 50 to come up on Yelp so I can finally write a review! I came here a while back when it first opened with a group of eight people. Now, I will preface this by saying that my experience with most of the food in Berlin has been 50/50. Some places season their food well while others don't. Forgotten 50 absolutely passes the test when it comes to taste. The crab guacamole was by far the tastiest thing I've ever had from a restaurant in the Eastern Shore. The churrasco flatbread was also delicious. However, the bread pudding and molten lava cake was the best thing that night. Most people eat with their eyes before eating with their mouths, and my kid and I were feasting for days just looking at the desserts as they were cooling down. It is THAT good. Make sure to stop by for a drink or two as well! read more

Well , I guess I'm going against the grain. My wife and I met a couple on the beach in OC. They lived in the Berlin area and told us about Forgotten 50 and how great their burgers were . Unfortunately , the burgers were good but far from being great . My wife got a salad that for a $17 salad you would think it would be a meal in itself, NOT . Or it would be enough to feed at least 2 or more people. There was 3 of us . We got 1 salad , 1 bowl of French onion soup and 3 burgers . The bill was over $80 not including the tip . Forgettable 50 is a good name cause it's very Forgettable. read more

Visited Forgotten 50 Distilling and the place is really neat and we anticipated a great lunch. Ordered specialty drinks which were tasty but pricey $ 15.00 for an expresso martini. Food was good the only disappointment was the supermarket chips that were served with the crabmeat avocado dip. Need to up those to warrant the 20.00 price . Would we go again ? Maybe read more

We ordered three "shareable" instead of entrees because if memory serves, there were only three, and there were a lot of shareable and we thought perhaps it would be a good way to sample one more item, this being our first time. The food was good, but not outstanding. The falafel was good, the tandoori wings quite good ( the tzatziki sauce accompaniment was bland and not very good), and the tuna ceviche was not very tasty at all and went unfinished. All in all just a so so experience for the price paid. Service was efficient and server as I said was very nice. We left not completely loving the place. There was live music in the bar, and we could hear him and he was good. In my opinion it would be a nice place to go for the bar and get a snack and a drink and listen to the music but for dinner it was not the best pick in town. read more
