Went to Harpoon Hannah's by boat for Sunday brunch. My hubby wanted to watch over the boat while eating (our lines were a little short). Matthew, who met us in the reception area, was wonderful and went out of his way to ensure we got a table by the dock. Matthew informed us that our server was one of the best, and he was right! Cia was fantastic, pleasant, quick, attentive and brought refills before being asked. Both Matthew and Cia have beautiful smiles and are so welcoming. Writing this review breaks my heart completely. Since I was a kid. My kids were kids . We have always loved this place. We all talked about the seafood skins. Our favorite for decades ! My husband and I felt very unseen at the bar and unwelcomed . We weren't even sure who exactly our bartenders were. Nor were told any names . Out of the three burnt but cold potatoes we received ... 2 shrimp. 3 scallops and what resembled a table spoon of crab cake covered in a mountain of cheese to cover it up. No old bay . 45 minutes it took to receive these . We were pretty certain that they had just forgotten us .in everyway. The whole experience was as sad and extremely dissatisfying. I ordered the crab Neptune based on the friendly waitress' recommendation. We came to harpoon Hanna's after being turned away from another busy brunch spot. We waited shortly at Harpoon and we hear they are an equally good dinner spot. Benefits of coming here is that there's a bar to wait at while you wait and you can enjoy the water. One of the happiest surprises we had was that their brunch offered complimentary muffins and baked turnovers. Better than some crusty old bread!! The blueberry one was delicious. The prices for the food you get are outrageous. I was looking at this menu and they charge extra for everything. If you get a burger fries are extra. If you got a salad and wanted to add salmon it was 19 dollars! On top of 20 bucks for the salad. The shrimp we got was over cooked and the fries we added on came out cold and mushy. We politely asked for fresh/hot ones and I swear they just microwaved the bowl of fries and sent it back. The views are incredible and the outdoor bar is amazing but I won't be going back here. We stopped at Harpoon Hanna's for lunch and unfortunately the overall experience was disappointing. As we approached the building, there was a very noticeable hot garbage smell outside. Once inside, the restaurant had a musty odor, so we decided to sit out on the deck. Unfortunately, the area of the deck where we were seated had a strong urine-like smell. When you're going to a waterfront restaurant specifically to enjoy the atmosphere, those kinds of odors really take away from the experience. On the positive side, I ordered the Sticky Chicky sandwich and thought it was decent. My other issue was the pricing. The chicken sandwich was already around $15, and fries were an additional $3.99. I completely understand that restaurant prices have increased, but nearly $19 for a fried chicken sandwich and fries seems excessive to me, especially since fries are normally a pretty standard side with a sandwich at this price point. The sandwich itself was fine, but between the odors, atmosphere, and pricing, unfortunately this isn't somewhere I would return to. read more

My father's steak was bland, completely unseasoned. We stopped by Harpoon Hanna's for drinks, appetizers, and live music. The wait during the summer months and weekends are as long as it has been for years so no surpise there. The parking lot is massive, caution driving about as families and groups walk about. We went during White Marlin Open and of course, sightings of MJ and his crew on Catch 23 was elusive. Do not recommend the crab legs. They came out barely luke warm which made the legs hard to crack since they were more soggy than anything. I also asked for the small fork that usually comes with crab legs and was told the bartender couldn't find one which also made it hard to pull the meat out of the legs. Service was good, our waitress, Emma maybe? was very nice and helpful. With how much ice they put in the glasses of diet soda, she was running gassers to provide refills. Eggs rolls: A - great flavor, large, full of food and served with a ranch dipping sauce. Easily one of the best single items you can get on the island. Didn't strike me as a frozen item. Crab Dip: C - to me this was a let down. Raw baguette slices along side with the crab dip which was very bland to me. Wish there was a heavy amount of salt and old bay stirred into the dip. Bread Basket: A- - the coconut muffins were very very good. Raisin bread was dry, but the frosting was still good. For an entree, I went with the filet steak which came with a side. I ordered the mac and cheese. Steak was overcooked, but good. The Mac and cheese was like buffet style, been out for awhile mush, not good. Overall - get apps and a burger. I have been coming to Ocean City MD, since my parents first vacationed there in 1972. This was the first time I visited Harpoon Hanna's since it opened in 1983. Wow! First the wait to be seated was a little long, but oh so worth it!. The food was phenomenal, I ordered the the Sea Food Trio, not sure that's exactly what it was called but great none the less. It was lobster tail, scallops and shrimp with a side salad and fries.. It was so good! The staff friendly and prompt. My son had crab legs and the wife had seafood pasta dish. We've been coming here for years, and it's always one of our favorite spots whenever we visit Fenwick Island. The staff is consistently friendly, and you really can't beat the location right by the water. It's so relaxing to sit outside and watch the boats come and go. They also often have live music in the afternoons and evenings, which we always enjoy. The hot muffins are amazing -- especially the coconut and blueberry -- and the apple turnovers are delicious too. The crab imperial is usually my go-to dish, but on our last visit I tried Hannah's Filet Chesapeake. The steak was perfectly cooked and topped with a generous portion of crab imperial. It's also a very family-friendly place. On our last visit, they had a large box filled with small toys for kids to pick from, which was such a thoughtful touch. Harpoon Hannas is a stop we always make down the beach, often more than one time. I will say, not so much for the food but absolutely for the atmosphere and service. Personally, if you're a regular at the beach, I think the tiki side is the way to go. You're going to be paying beach prices with a limited menu, you may as well enjoy the view and sit by the water. Also, as the night goes on you'll want to stick around to run into familiar faces or just enjoy the music or ambiance. The restaurant side. My first experience here was on the outdoor dining portion of the restaurant, which honestly is the best option for this side. You can enjoy your breadbasket/muffins while watching pontoon boats pull up, boaters go by, or if you're lucky some dolphins. You're kidding yourself if you think very many of the places down here are actually sourcing locally caught seafood. So let's just lower expectations now. I've ordered swordfish here and really enjoyed the portion along with the sides and as I said, the ambiance is why we're here. Contrarily I've dined inside for the pure fact that I just wanted to enjoy company and some AC. I tried the shrimp Cobb this year and I'll say this, four shrimp and half a head of lettuce for the price may as well be highway robbery. lol. But splitting it with my bf, along with a plate of chicken tenders, made the lack of substance that much more bearable. Moreover I emphasize, I'm here for the memories. And frankly, Harpoon Hannas food is FRESH and better than plenty of places I've had the dissatisfaction of spending my hard earned money on here down the beach. When I mentioned it was my son's birthday, she didn't hesitate--cheesecake, candle, the whole crew singing--on the house. That kind of thoughtfulness goes a long way. As for the food: * My wife had the ahi tuna, and it was perfectly seared and beautifully plated. * I went classic with the fish and chips--crispy, flaky grouper with fries that hit the spot. * My son tackled the seafood feast--a broiled lineup of grouper, scallops, shrimp, and a crab cake. No filler, just fresh seafood cooked right. But let me tell you about the muffins. Yes, the muffins. These things are the sleeper hit of the meal--coconut, blueberry, and this glazed raisin bread that we shamelessly took home for breakfast. Dined here for the first time tonight. We waited 45 minutes to be seated--understandable, as the place was bustling. The staff? Warm, welcoming, and attentive. But the food? A mixed bag, at best. We ordered two New York steaks--same cut, same order, yet wildly different in taste. One was flavorful; the other fell flat. The crab legs? Solid. No complaints there. But the prime rib? Overcooked, dry, and disappointing. Frankly, most of what hit the table seemed a bit too long in the fire.
