While exploring the Waterside area, I stopped in for breakfast. Modern decor and a friendly smile welcomed me early on a Saturday morning. Extensive menu but I was already focused on the French Toast with berries and creme. Wow! Amazing flavors and not too sweet. But $17 for two regular sized pieces of FT was a little excessive. It was time for some breakfast last weekend and Forked at waterside was in our sights. The ambiance was typical diner/ breakfast restaurant at its best which was what I look for when it comes to a comfortable place for breakfast. The service was decent no long wait etc, the waitress shared her suggestions etc. Now the food: we ordered chicken and waffles and the waffle was cooked just right but the chicken had no good crunchy batter and was bland, eggs Benedict was ok but the hollandaise lacked that silky buttery lemon flavor that makes a hollandaise stand out the cheesy hash browns were ok once I added some ketchup and the pancakes were your basic pancakes which is ok, but no wow factor. A friend and I walked in for lunch. The place had only one other table at 11:30 or so. After a minute or two, someone comes out from the back, looks at us, and asked if we need anything. We tell him we are in for lunch before we are told to pick a table. We pick a table by the window that is clean or not covered with trays of salt and pepper waiting to be refilled. Then we wait. Atmosphere is fresh and bright with farmhouse vibes, clean lines and Simplistic decor. Inside is about 25 to 30 seating arrangements. Exposed industrial ceilings with plenty of lighting with white exposed brick. Lots of great items for breakfast and lunch here got things from crepes and pancakes to more traditional things like omelettes. Fresh pressed orange juice hot tea just to name a few. I was so excited to try this place! It is so cute inside and they had a live performer during Saturday breakfast who was phenomenal. Unfortunately, the food here was not very good for anyone I went with. All of us tried the Forked Benedict but we all of us had issues with it. All of us had frozen or cold hash browns, basically hard boiled (not poached) eggs, and soggy English muffins. The hollandaise was not very good either. It tasted like it was made from a powder. We also had espresso drinks and those were good but the latte had more foam than the cappuccino. We told our server, who was very kind about it, and he brought me pancakes to replace the hash browns and brought my friend a new English muffin. However for this price, I will not be returning. read more

Food was very good & fresh. Victoria was super sweet and welcoming. She had speedy service and an upbeat personality.

Food is just not good. I ordered avocado toast and it wasn't fresh, came on burnt toast, and they just threw it on there wasn't even spread or anything. For a 20 dollar plate, it wasn't worth it. I could've made better at home. I also got a side of eggs, undercooked. My friend got the burrito with eggs and she also said it wasn't good. Our server was nice, but didn't come around to ask for refills. I would not recommend. There are far better places in the area ! read more

The place is charming. The service is goods there's street parking here and the place is adorable. It can get pretty busy on weekends. The food and drinks here are pretty great. Also we were pretty impressed on how fast the food came out. And they were busy. Even then the food came out real fast and so did the drinks. We had some French toast and some apresso martinis. The Forks restaurant at Waterside Sarasota really needs improvement. We went for a late breakfast at 12:30. They sat us at a table that had not been cleaned cause the previous customer tip was on it. We waited for 45 min and then were told our waiter never placed our order. When we complained to the manager she took no responsibility citing they were short staffed. Needless to say we were too late for breakfast anywhere else. The place is ran by a bunch of unsupervised teenagers. Never going back again. read more

The food was better than the service. The food was really goos and served super fast. However, our waitress Sasha was less than enthused. It's not that our service was "bad", but there was no personality. When we go out to eat, it's obviously not inexpensive anymore. So, what a customer wants is to be served... to feel they are important. Welp, we just never felt it. From the greeting to small talk to the entire eating encounter. Loud and good We had a good visit to Forked, starting before we even arrived. Thanks to one of the reviews on Yelp we learned we could call ahead and get added to their waitlist, shaving 20 minutes off of what would have been a 40 minute wait. It was also Sunday so after checking in we spent the other 20 minutes walking around the Farmers Market at Waterside. The time passed quickly. I had checked out their menu online and looked forward to trying their Let's Hash It Out, a corned beef hash dish with two eggs, hash browns or fruit, and toast or pancakes. I picked fruit because I'm trying to eat healthier, and the pancakes so I can soak them in syrup, a decidedly less healthy decision. It was a very good breakfast. The food took about 10 minutes to arrive, a good time for a restaurant that was busy. I was a little surprised with the hash. I typically see cubed or even smaller pieces of corn beef combined with potato and maybe other ingredients like onion or green pepper. Not at Forked, it was a pile of shredded corned beef with very few potato cubes. There was no question the dish had lots of savory corned beef. Different than usual. Parking in the area was challenging partly because of the Farmers Market, but we got a spot that was being vacated. The restaurant was loud. Service was great, from the pleasant hostess who remembered us from when we checked in when it was our turn to be seated, to our helpful server who did a perfect job. read more

Hostess brings my water and coffee no spoon no cream and walks away quicker than I could ask for either one. I figure it's OK. My server will be right up six minutes later no one has come by the counter. In fact, I only saw one server who was busy bringing refill drinks to another table. Got up to see hostess, no hostess. Breakfast was amazing. Best scrambled eggs and bacon. Service was awesome and catered to our dog. However, due to having our dog with us, we sat outside on their lovely patio. Then came the bees. They stung a woman walking past then would land on tables, people and overall were very aggressive. We had a hard time with this as I am terrified of bees. We went back the following week and sat on the patio on the other side, again the bees kept coming at us so we had to get up and find somewhere else to go. Just recently found "Forked" at Waterside. I met up with a friend and we both loved our breakfasts. The corned beef hash was fantastic as were the eggs and the perfectly cooked crispy hash browns. I would like to see a slight tweaking of the pancakes but they were still good. The service was very good as is the atmosphere. I will definitely be going back again soon. The only positive was the taste of my corned beef skillet. Hostess sat us at a dirty table (observed that no-bus boys were just not doing a good job at any table) and left menus no silverware, waitress asked about drinks, someone else brought drinks, waitress took order still no silverware I also asked for a to go container before my meal came to separate before eating, food was delivered by another person still no to go or silverware (observed that others also had hot food with no silverware) asked and they brought it, finished meal and waited/waited for the bill and finally our waitress asked haven't they brought your bill yet, waited again finally our bill was brought by another person asked her to not leave we were ready to pay also informed her that we would not be returning and reasons why. Also observed other tables with a waiter who did everything instead of 4ppl. Customers have less entertainment money and should be able to feel they got their money's worth and we definitely did not! read more

I have been to Forked several times since opening. Steadily going down hill. Wait was understandable on a Sunday morning. Manager walking around with an overly soiled dishrag to help clear tables. Food was overpriced and underwhelming. Server was a space cadet often forgetting requests like coffee creamer. Toast tasted like it had not fully cooked when the bread was made. Let me tell you about our experience! Forked doesn't allow you to make reservations online and you also can't call ahead to get onto their waitlist. So what did we do? Put our name on the waitlist and walked around the Farmers Market until we got a text that our table is ready. So when did we go? Sunday morning! Forked is the cutest! You walk inside and you are met with smiles, clean and bright colors all around. My first reaction to when we sat down was how stick our table and menus were... It honestly reminded me of when I was in high school and went to Applebees on a Friday night with friends... just gross! Our waitress was super friendly which made our experience much better. But the food? Not worth the high prices... In my opinion. The eggs could've used some salt and pepper when cooking. The pancakes were thin and tasted no different than boxed pancakes. The Hangover Burger was super greasy. Really, the only two dishes that were favorites were the Banana Nutella Crepe and Berry French Toast. I'd like to come back and see if maybe during the week the quality of food would be different! read more

This restaurant has the rudest and the most unwelcoming staff ever. We walked in and barely got greeted. We waited about 30 minutes because the hostess says "we opted out" when we never even got a text that we checked in. When we finally sat down, we waited 10 minutes without a waiter coming to our table before we got up and walked out. While we were sitting, several waiters walked by our table. We went to Forked with a group of six on a Sunday at 11 o'clock in early January. The wait was about 15 minutes, which isn't bad. Personally, I find it a little overrated, but here goes.... I had the Chilaquiles, which was below average - underseasoned, under salted, and the hashbrowns underneath had absolutely no flavor. My husband had the Count of Monte Cristo, which could've used some kind of accompaniment. The coffee was good. It's OK breakfast food, but nothing special. We will not be returning. read more

Hands down worst breakfast spot I've been to in town and go to many. Called and asked if they did call ahead seating, hostess says no. Turns out they do reservations so corrected that and made a reservation for outside. Got there and there's no outside seating available, got seated inside next to a live musician that was completely inappropriate for the indoor space. Couldn't hear ourselves talk. Our waitress took our orders and was never seen again. Flagged down a manager who says "oh yeah I took her off the floor to help on the kitchen line" and thus we were left with no waitress the rest of the meal. Food took 40 minutes to come out and one never came. We had to go ask for it. Food was not good. Horribly managed place. Go anywhere else. read more

The Triple Bowl has EVERYTHING you'd want in a breakfast. Eggs, bacon, potatos, cheese... delicious. If the coffee was slightly better I'd say this is a home run. Waitress was always timely and checked in on us which helped get us in and out within the hour. read more

I took my daughter here for lunch! We were there on a Saturday around 1:30 and it was not busy. I didn't really like the table they sat us at. In the middle of the room but it was fine. Our waitress took awhile to come and greet us and wasn't super attentive throughout the entire time. The food was well presented and served hot and in a timely fashion. I had the chicken tamales and really enjoyed them. You have the option of scanning your invoice and paying with your phone which is what I did-quick and easy. It's a cute place. My husband and I took my dad and his girlfriend to Forked for brunch on their visit down here from NC. Forked just opened recently, so we went in expecting to give them some grace. It was on a Sunday with the Market going on outside, so naturally the restaurant was busy. We were quoted 45 minutes, but it actually ended up taking an hour and a half before we were seated. The hostesses did not really have a grip on the times or the seating. Once we were called up to be seated, so we're 20 other parties all at the same time. And even though we were amount the first to walk up to say we received our text to be seated, we continued to be overlooked for another five minutes and the hosts scrambled to figure out what was going on and continued to seat others before us. Now with all of that being said, once we were finally seated, everything took a much better turn. Our server was awesome and she actually was from NC, so that sparked conversation with my parents. She was very sweet and on top of things. My husband and I ordered mimosas with oh, and they had coffee. I appreciate that the oj is fresh squeezed, but we could've done without the pulp in the mimosas. The food was incredible! That is their shining light and between that and our server is why I did not give this review less stars! We had the Kickin Chicken Pomodoro Omelette, the Very Berried Treasure French Toast, S'mores French Toast, and the Elvis Hunk of Burnin Love French Toast! All of our meals were so yummy! The portions were perfect, and everything had amazing flavor! The decor is cute! They have some fun signs and murals throughout. They also have indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated inside thank goodness because it has been too hot for outside. We will try to go again during the week when it's maybe a little slower and see if we have a better seating experience, but the food definitely did not disappoint! read more

We stopped in for brunch while out of town and were glad we found this spot. The Forked Bites were great to share as an appetizer for a fun spin on traditional tater tots. My friend enjoyed the chilaquiles but said it needed a bit of salt/seasoning for her taste. I had the Chicken Florentine Crepe which was good but I asked for a side of pine nut basil pesto and much preferred that to the hollandaise. The sweet to savory ratio was good, though. The restaurant is cute with indoor and outdoor seating, but had quite a wait when we went for brunch around 1 on Sunday. Several people around us were complaining about how long it was taking to get their food, be checked on, etc. considering the indoor seating wasn't even full, but we didn't think it was that unreasonable. We did have to flag our server down a few times for drink refills, to order, etc. but in general it wasn't terrible. The food was good, and the portions were a reasonable size for the quality and price, but if I was local it would be a little more pricey than I would swing regularly.
