Sadly I have to give this restaurant one star. We are currently building a home at Wild Blue in Lakewood Ranch and we decided to checkout Waterside while in the neighborhood. We happened upon Forked and thought let's get something to eat before we venture on. We sat outside and waited for the waitress to come out to great us which never happened. So I went inside to let the waitress know that we were sitting outside for 10 minutes. While inside she handed me a menu and silverware wrapped inside a napkin. She came out 5 minutes later to take our order. She came out with coffee and we asked if we could have cream and sugar and spoons since the silver wrapped in the napkin did not come with spoons. She came out and left one spoon and a small tray of sugars which only had two regular sugars inside. When she came back with the food some twenty minutes later we asked if a we could have some regular sugar and straws for our water. She seemed to upset her that we were asking for something. Keep in mind that there was only one other table with patrons in the entire restaurant. She never came out to check on us. Finally I went inside and asked if we could have a warm up for our coffee she went inside and came out with one cup of coffee and set it in the center of the table and left. At this point I went inside and asked for my check, leaving our meals not even half eaten. We just wanted to Leave at this point. I paid by check at the counter and left a note on the paid receipt The service was terrible. Apparently after reading the receipt she decided to come out to ask what was wrong and we told her how we felt. We told her this is our first experience in the neighborhood and you made us feel as though we were bothering you. She began to try to contradict our sentiments, and I told her that we were not looking for a confrontation, and that we were leaving feeling as though we were not welcomed in the restaurant. This was such a poor dining situation and I hope that server Sumner V. learns something from the experience. read more

The staff was super kind and friendly and the food was incredible, great atmosphere! I highly recommend to get THE DON skillet (american, cheddar, mozzarella cheese, ham, sausage, bacon, eggs over potatoes) it also comes with toast or pancake. It's a LOT of food for a great price! Quick and easy.....$6.00 for a cup of coffee. We noticed several people turning around and walking out but didn't know why at first.....then we realized why. Unreasonable and totally inconsiderate to the public. Food is nothing more than average. Breakfast for one will cost more than $25.00, without the ridiculous six dollar cup of coffee, free refills, oh boy, no thanks. Save your money eat elsewhere. Our first time here, and we loved it. Upon entering, the hostess seated us immediately in a requested booth. Friday morning, approx 10:00a, so restaurant was not crowded at all. Our server was wonderful. Brought us waters upon greeting us, and immediately took our order. We were hungry, so we decided quickly. Entrees, Chicken Tamales, and Waterside Crepe, came out with in 20 min, prepared perfectly, and piping hot. He freshened our coffee and check on us again before bringing a togo box and check. It's a little pricey for breakfast, but what we like was the menu selections. I don't recall seeing some of the items, especially the crepes anywhere else here in LWR. Plus, the portions are generous, you could easily split one entree. Did not use the restrooms, however, our booth, table, and menus were fabulously clean, as was the floor. Ample free parking, and outdoor dining. Cocktails available, even for breakfast! Would definitely go back again. I imagine in season they're swamped! read more

Forked is a good brunch spot with a wide variety of food and drink options. Looking at the menu there was everything you needed for a good breakfast from vegetarian, to pancakes/waffle, to stake and eggs. I'm a big french toast guy, so I went with the very berried treasure french toast and it was good! Especially because it had a banana cream cheese filling (also had a side of eggs and bacon to really fill me up)! The restaurant does offer mimosas, but I went for single drink. I don't recall the name, but it tasted like a lemonade mixed with a pina colada! Overall great find and tip would be to go on Sunday so that you can also enjoy the farmer market located across the street from 9am-2pm. read more

What a fun menu. The breakfast chilaquiles are amazing and a huge portion. The first time we went I wasn't very hungry (went with friends) and ordered the granola, yogurt, berry bowl. It was awesome. Service is attentive without being intrusive. Coffee is abundant. read more

Food looked better in the pictures. Workers seem to be overworked and understaffed and it shows from the moment you walk in. Almost every group was waiting for double their told waiting times and when our food finally came it was cold and the "scrambled" eggs looked like they came from a leftover pan of overcooked omelette shards. Potatoes had just enough brown on the top portion to cover up that they were raw and cold on the inside and the bacon was soggy, lukewarm at best. Pancakes were the only thing that came out warm, assumingely because we had to wait an additional 10 minutes for them to come out after our meals. To top it off, we were charged for an incorrect check, which we were told couldn't be voided at the moment because the manager was "busy". So we had to accept ANOTHER charge for our correct meal and leave with our card charged over double the correct amount because the manager/owner couldn't be bothered to take care of it while we were in the restaurant. We were hoping for a good breakfast place close to home but it looks like we will have to keep searching. Regardless of service, food was overpriced for what they are serving. Better of going to a cheap diner and getting what you pay for. read more

While they have ample staff many of them seem to just be standing around chatting with one another including our server the day we went for breakfast. Went for brunch it was amazing. Tried to go again and waited 20 min for a table and watched as they sat two parties ahead of us that came in after. At first I didn't say anything I thought they were seating a party of two at a two top and we were a party of three. She called another party of three who came in ten minutes after us and I was like excuse me. So she sat them first then us. Trying to shove us at a random table in front of the kitchen door and letting three grown men who knew we had been waiting twice as long take a booth for six. We had our young son with us. Overall appalled by the behavior of the staff and the men who stepped in front of me to take our table. Will never be back. Honestly new GREAT SPOT! We stopped in when walking around Waterside and ordered the Don skillet with the cinnabun pancakes on the side and the plain Jane with a side of chocolate chip pancakes. Everything was delicious! One of the best skillets I have had in a long time, as the flavor was evenly dispersed throughout and there was no one ingredient which overpowered the dish and the cinnabun pancakes on the side were sooo good. The salty and sweet combo of the pancakes and the skillet were phenomenal together. Server was knowledgeable, quick and friendly. We will definitely be back when we are in the area! I'm a tough critic when it comes to tamales, and these were great! Not to mention it's a pretty good deal- coming with cheesy hash browns and 2 eggs. The staff is also very friendly. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Ambiance was just weird.. looked like a mishmash of leftovers from other restaurants. Service was good. Food... ughhh My burger had an odd texture.. not much flavor even with the "add ons" which they need to improve on..Sliced tomatoes were badly underripe, took them off. Fries were mediocre even when getting "Cajun" seasoning. Friend got the crepe.. again no flavor.. The "hollandaise" was just sad.. looked like mayo in a plastic cup.. just bad. Food is overpriced and poor quality. Wait staff is mediocre. No garnish or anything special about any of the entrees. Try the $16 avocado toast, and see for yourself. They probably only have 20 different ingredients, all prepared the same way....hence the diced tomatoes on your avocado toast. Not only is the food cheap, all the drinkware is cheap plastic. Forget about getting your $8 fresh squeezed orange juice in a glass. Nothing special. Try for yourself and see. Station 400 would be a better breakfast option. read more

Unfortunately I'm not impressed. It has gone down hill. Our server was super slow and could care less that she had customers. She was handling money then serving drinks and food. The bathroom is close to the bar and all you could hear were the sounds of an obnoxious hand dryer and a door vent that would go on every single time the door opened. We felt dirty when we left. The call ahead to put our name on the wait list was great. The brunch menu selection itself was ok. The drawback was that not all our food items came out at the same time. For two of our party the order came with pancakes vs a salad, toast or fruit and we had to remind the waiter twice for them. So that was disappointing read more

Not complaining about the service, it was excellent, nor the ambiance. The restaurant was very cute and clean. But the main reason people go to a restaurant, the food, was less than stellar. This was breakfast. We ordered 2 "Plain Janes" which included their version of hash browns and that's really what this complaint is about. The hash browns were like shredded potatoes fried to a hard crust. They were for the most part, inedible - just hardened shards of potato. We may try it again for lunch but right now, we're feeling like we don't want to go back. read more

I dined at Forked this morning with my dear friend Camille. We were greeted by Michael who is the owner of Forked. Michael told us how the restaurant came about. It's awesome seeing Waterside slowly come alive. I had the Veggie-licious, which was delicious. It came with Hash browns and 2 pancakes. Next time I will ask for well done hash browns. The food was delicious and the portions were huge. My friend had the dish, Let's Hash It Out, which was yummy too. The Corned beef hash is pulled corned beef and very tasty.
