I had done my research before getting an EV. Bookmarked Formosa Electric to contact when I was ready to install a Wall Charger. It was impossible to get a response from Roger. When I did, I was asked to send him photos and it takes more than 24hrs-48hrs for a response. After finally getting a response, he said he would not be able to help because my 200amp panel was full. Other electricians said they can rewire and use tandem breakers / quad breakers. If you are on the other side of the bridge (San Mateo area), I suspect he's not interested. Also probably not interested in dealing with other cities in terms of permits. Disappointed to say the least. read more

I had called several electricians to come out to see what was wrong. All of them wanted to charge me to come out just to troubleshoot. That's when I reached out to Formosa Electric. He emailed me back right away and said for me to contact PG&E first, which I didn't realize I could do. I contacted PG&E and they were able to come out and found that the line coming into my house was corroded and they ended up replacing it and that fixed my flickering lights problem. We had two rooms without power in our house. After performing continuity test on all the circuit breakers using a multimeter, I still couldn't identify the problem (all the breakers and the GFCIs are functioning). I called here to see if I can get some professional help. Even though he wasn't available in person, Roger was extremely helpful over the phone.
