Absolutely amazing! The prices are good and the portions are more than filling! I eat here once a week (as a weekend treat) and am never disappointed! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is flavorful, perfectly cooked, and you can tell the chef takes the time to make everything just right! If you are craving Chinese food, or simply can't decide what you want for the night, I HIGHLY recommend you give this place a shot!! I always felt spoiled being from the east coast and having excellent Chinese takeout spots everywhere. Formosa has been a pleasant surprise a few years back when initially moving to this area. The sesame chicken is crispy, flavorful and plentiful! We have been eating here for almost four years and have not been disappointed once. This is the first time we've ordered from Formosa Garden. I read several favorable reviews, and I'd like to to add another. We had lemon chicken and vegetable egg foo yong. It was all excellent! I placed the order directly through the restaurant, as opposed to ordering from DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc, because the restaurant takes about a 30% hit when orders are placed through a delivery app. Profit margins are thin enough in the restaurant business, and that extra deduction can really hurt a small business. I placed the order in the afternoon, to be delivered at 6:30. The food arrived exactly on time. It was still hot and was very plentiful, as well as delicious. It was all prepared well and with obvious care. Try Formosa Garden. It's excellent! read more

Fast service and they are friendly. Orange chicken - breading was soggy, sauce tasted good just wished there was more of it. General Tso chicken - breaded chicken, wasn't soggy, sauce was very tasty and there was enough of it. Carrots, green peppers & onions were fresh & firm. Combo Lo Mein - no small sizes available only one size. It was not greasy at all. Large chunks of the beef & shrimp is also good size. Chicken was cut in smaller strips, but there was a lot of it. Sweet & Sour Soup - this wasn't my favorite. Won't order again. Peppery, and not too much, which I like, but the soup just fell flat noted. I don't really know how to describe it. When we ordered we asked if we spent a certain amount could we get something for free (i.e. Crab cheese wontons; or egg rolls) they told us they only do that on pickup & dine in orders. All in all decent, but not the best. The search continues. EDIT*** We ordered from them a couple nights ago and I am changing my rating from 3 to 4 stars. We ordered Shrimp pad Thai, that's right pad Thai. It was really very good. I asked for hot since they said theirs is done "medium" unless otherwise asked. This place is the best. I've been eating here for 29 years. It's delicious. I've probably eaten 95% of the menu and never had a bad experience. I grew up eating their Szechuan tofu before I had teeth. Consistent, reliable, and high quality ingredients. Don't even think about going anywhere else. The delivery is also incredibly fast if you order directly from the restaurant. Most of the negative reviews are from people who have some kind of weird gripe with Grubhub. I don't know why people are even ordering through Grubhub. Order directly from the restaurant's website or give them a call to order and enjoy your delicious meal! read more

Excellent hidden gem! The prices are very reasonable but the food and atmosphere are excellent. Dinner for two with tea and sides was under $40. The staff are very friendly as well. Delicious! Fresh, fast, great portions. My husband and I order 1 entree each with the meal add on, and have leftovers for 2-3 more meals each. Not overly salty, and unlike many Chinese restaurants, it doesn't all taste the same. No gross MSG. Friendly and fast service! read more

Don't waste your money. The egg drop soup was mostly corn starch and water (I haven't had soup that clear and colorless ever before or since), the lemon chicken was just some battered and fried chicken you could buy at the grocery store, and the egg rolls were mediocre. There's better Chinese in the area. read more

Came here today on a whim from a recommendation on Nextdoor app. Glad we did. We ordered the chicken sizzling rice soup, happy family and mushu pork (one of my all time favorites). It was all delicious. The service very attentive, the food and the food was great! The only negative (if that) is the chicken sizzling rice soup. While delicious, was a tad small in portion for four people. We wished there was a bit more to share. We will return for sure, though! read more

I'm holding out on the 5 stars. I want to do a repeat. But, I ordered a few times for delivery from another Chinese restaurant. Waited 45 minutes. I ordered from one a block from the house, it took 90 minutes. So our search continued for good delivery Chinese. I ordered online, 20 minutes the door bell rang. Service 5 stars!!! The food, Chicken Fried Rice, Hunan Beef, and Chicken Drunken Noodles. The chicken fried rice had great flavor and a nice mix of veggies without too much. The Hunan Beef, we asked for extra spicy, it was perfect. Great flavor to the beef and the mushrooms were perfect. You could tell the vegetables were freshly cut and cooked in the sauce. Was wonderful to have good Hunan Beef. I'm not a fan of Drunken noodles, but my gent is and said they were truly wonderful and had great flavor and were cooked perfectly. I'll believe him! Did I mention Crispy veggie rolls? Not greasy, not over cooked, perfect crunch and flavort too. WE will order again. For service 5--For food, I want to try some other dishes and I will update!!! So I only get takeout because... well... COVID. That being said, I really find the food to be consistent and very good. Had to try it because of all the good reviews and I'm always on the hunt. Horrible! The wontons were decent but that's about it, I could only take one bite of the shrimp and scallops, it was undercooked, swimming in wine, I mean like floating and it tasted like bad fish. The beef fried rice was pretty bland but I ate it and gave my dog three prices of beef... Here's where the fun starts.... I was up sick all night just like my dog, it's 8:30 am and she's still eating grass. I've never had it come out both ends so bad in my life. Formosa Garden is my favorite Asian Fusion in the Denver metro area. We've been going there since 1995 - even through two moves (my reviews mention other Asian restaurants in other locales - and this is why they get such bad reviews)! Service is always fast - if not always to a five star standard, and there is rarely any mistakes. The fooooood...ohhhh, the food. LOVE the General Tsaos, the sweet and sour, the sesame chicken, the beef with vegetables, the lemongrass chicken, the orange sauce, the... there are too many great entrees! And the poopoos - so good. We ordered from this place for a nice, relaxed Sunday dinner. The egg drop soup was bland and unimpressive. My husband enjoyed his Pad Thai with shrimp though he liked the Pad Thai better at Golden Phoenix. My cashew chicken was also a bit bland. The vegetables were cooked perfectly but the chicken was decidedly meh. The teriyaki chicken was nice if a bit sweet. We liked the crab cheese wantons most. All-in-all not a bad place to order from. I ordered delivery from Formosa, and even though the restaurant states they deliver through Grub Hub. Grub Hub did not find my residence and updated the delivery status as delivered. I waited for an hour and the driver called to get the address again, and they still didn't come. I called the restaurant and the person that answered was not aware of the driver or how to resolve the problem. I watched the Grub Hub the entire time on the GPS and they were circling pass and driving away from my address. It was frustrating and unbelievable because we've ordered delivery from other companies, and it wasn't any issues finding our address. To get to the point, don't use Grub Hub to deliver your food from Formosa. You'll just end up never getting your order, and will leave you frustrated. read more
