Closure of this longstanding Mission sausage spot was barely averted late last year, and to my embarrassment, I had never been to this location. Now I had patronized the Lower Haight cafe which closed over three years ago, but my last visit was like sixteen years ago. Guess I'm an infrequent weenie eater. I have an inappropriate joke about that, but I'll keep it to myself. According to my Yelp review way back then, I loved the bratwurst I had, and it was on the menu here. However, whenever I see Currywurst listed, I always order it simply because I had a really good one at Curry 36 in Berlin once (review: https://yelp.to/oVSBrrs7FI). Here it's the $12 Berliner, and sure enough, it looked authentic, and I ordered the knockwurst as my sausage of choice. It arrived with the knockwurst sliced, covered in curry ketchup, and ladled on a pile of fries. I will say San Francisco lacks great hot dogs outside of the street meat carts that roll around. When I was very young we lived across the street from a Polish Beer Garden where you could hear the crowds enjoying the Summer during the day and early evening. The music, crowd , and food though different reminds me of that electric energy. As for the Food , had a Tasty Sausage on a Hardy Roll and washed it down with a few cups of Brew. This place is a favorite. My wife's vegetarian and they have two to choose from. I eat chicken but not pork or beef and they have two different chicken sausages too. I get them on a board with cheese and pickles and other sides. The price is good for the quality of the food. They also have a fantastic rotation of great beers on tap. It's hard to ask for more if you feel like a beer and a sausage. The place is kept clean with big windows, large tables for bringing lots of friends and even outdoor seating. I visited this Mission location for takeout during Eat Drink SF 2020 (Restaurant Week fall edition). They had their Restaurant Week packages listed specifically on their online ordering system ChowNow, so it was very easy to select my preferences and set the pickup time. Their selections online slightly differed from the menu listed for Restaurant Week in that there were actually more options to choose from, so that was nice! I liked the sausages at Rosamunde back when they had a location open in Oakland City Center, so was anticipating a similar enjoyment. As it's near the end of Mission but still within the heart of it, parking may be sketch. When picking up, utensils were provided along with a cute brown baggie with their sausage mascot logo on it. I liked how packaged the items were with informative labels. For their Restaurant Week $15 lunch menu (choice of starter, sausage, two toppings, two sides), I chose the cheesy spaetzle, chicken habanero on a french roll with roasted sweet peppers and jalapeno slaw, sweet & tangy baked beans, and German potato salad. The cheesy spaetzle was pretty yummy with a mild, creamy cheese flavor that is similar to white cheddar. You can definitely taste the browned buttered onions (more so the browned butter than the onions) - I usually dislike cooked onions, but the ones in here were almost nonexistent or very small, and was just there to add flavor. This is like a slightly denser and complex version of mac and cheese, which is always good with some sausages. I liked the smaller shapes and chew on the house-made noodles. The chicken habanero was not spicy at all to me. It was surprisingly dark in color despite being a chicken sausage, and was otherwise a decent chicken sausage with a subtle hint of smokiness and tequila. I've tried all of Rosamunde's toppings so far from my past experiences, and my favorite is their roasted sweet peppers - very subtly sweet while adding a nice, moist tang to the sausage. The jalapeno slaw was mostly pickled purple cabbage with thin strands of darkened pickled jalapeno - just a vinegary crunch. The French roll is pretty soft while being durable. They included containers of ketchup and honey-wasabi dijon with the sausage roll, which I took to be their recommended condiments with my sausage - appreciate it! The honey-wasabi dijon was nose-clearing spicy! The sweet & tangy baked beans were surprisingly good. It had this interesting herbal aroma - a flavor that I usually smell when my mom makes some weird Chinese deep brown herbal soup or braised pork belly - star anise? Very surprised how tasty and reminiscent of barbecue it was considering it's vegetarian. It was perfectly warm, soft, and comforting, and I'd recommend this as a side. I'd also recommend the German potato salad, which has very small scraps of bacon within and had a prominent vinegar and mustard mix. I liked how thin the potatoes were sliced, and there was a lot of moisture in this potato salad. Additionally, I ordered the hot grilled pretzel sticks which comes with beer cheese and honey mustard dipping sauce. You get three big pretzel sticks that are super soft and fluffy, warm, and salted well. The beer cheese was warm, smooth, and creamy with a lot of beer taste, and the honey mustard also had a smooth consistency with a subtle sweetness that was great with the pretzels. I think Rosamunde is a solid place due to their variety of sausages. Though on the pricier side, they do back it up with great flavors and quality ingredients. read more

A great place to grab drinks with seating out front and socially distanced seating indoors. The keg of one of the beers was out and the bar staff said we could grab a seat and we were shortly delivered our fresh beers at our table. We weren't super hungry so didn't get a change to try the brats but the menu looked quite good. The chili was a bit dry (old), but it still works. The sausage was salty and snappy. Perfect.... Knockwurst- I honestly think it's just like Costco hotdog, except this was grilled.
