    Cool art

I went to an artist reception that featured Forte wine pours over the weekend so I was curious to try their coffee. I stopped in this morning because they open at 7am(!) and they're downtown. Parking enforcement starts at 8 so it's perfect for me. I was really into the design elements! I recognized James Violette light pieces from the artist reception and they looked really at home with the decor. Loved the wall art and the whole concept - coffee by day, wine by night, in a spacious lobby setting. I ordered a capp and was pleasantly surprised! It was a really tasty capp with the right amount (30% or so) of stiff, creamy foam. I thought the espresso was smooth and fruity, I'd be curious to know who they get their beans from. The barista said he'd won an award for his capp & I don't know if that influenced me or not but it was better than a lot of places I've tried (I'd put Starbucks' capp near the bottom, and Kind Coffee's near the top!) Overall, it was a really cool designed space, with a nice cup of coffee. I'd love to come back on a weekend and lounge on their couches by the light of the Christmas tree. Cute space! I'll be back!

This is quite a unique space. It feels like one is in an office building lobby. Maybe, because one is in an office building lobby. It is very spacious. There are windowpanes all around but they are a little high and no seats are next to them, so you are looking upwards and outwards. However, the life of the city shows its way inwards. One particularly nice feature for coffee within the Portland area is that this place is open late. The personnel are friendly. There is a billiards table and a shuffleboards table.

This was such a great find! We stumbled upon it while walking around town, and really enjoyed our visit. The bartender/barista was super friendly. We were able to get in a couple games of pool while we drank our coffee. A really great vibe overall. Would be a great place to meet up with friends, or for a date. Highly recommend a stop in here.

The music was too loud too early in the morning to order. My voice shouldn't have to compete. I promptly left.

A good place is a little pricey but worth a nibble or two if you're in the area. So I'd recommend just for the sense of adventure

Friendly owners, Griffin Syrah was one of the best I've tasted, and a pool table for anyone who spends $20. Great space to relax and talk

The man that made my Americano was very attentive and this is the best coffee shop in Portland strictly for the far above par people that work there.

Inside is dark and cozy, perfect for a rainy afternoon or evening. My only complaint is there is a lot of wood and all the hard surfaces don't reflect noise so it's sometimes challenging to hear. They have a wonderful assortment of wines and not all local. For me, that's a good thing. Yes I love a Willamette Valley Pinot or a Washington Cabernet, but I get a lot of those when I'm visiting these areas, which I do frequently. At Muse you can enjoy a red from France, Spain, Italy, as well as local. Lots of whites and some bubbles, too. You can do a tasting of three half glass pours of your choice, or order a glass. Some nights they have tastings that they have preselected. Last night, based on Alex's recommendation, after telling him my preferences, I had the 2021 Crozes-Hermitage from Paris. It was a bigger red, but so smooth. Next I went with the Rioja Gran Reserva which was more fruit forward. Another winner. Their cheese and jam plates are fabulous, the cheese especially delicious, and pair perfectly with the wines. Have a feeling I'll be back frequently to this charming neighborhood wine since my friend works out next door, so it's a perfect meeting spot.

Other than that, there isn't food food here, but they do allow outside food and they even recommend places in the area. I got the Wayfaring White flight and my friend got the Voyage Francais. My friend and I definitely enjoyed our flights. Both of us liked half of our flights and LOVED the other half. By the end of the night, we were laugh crying. We also ordered cheese, crackers, nuts, and dried fruits. All so delicious and great to snack on while we sipped on our flights. The cheeses were delectable. We also got truffles to end the night off on a sweet note. Our server was so nice and kind. She was very helpful and I could tell she wanted us to have a good time there. I vaguely remember there being games at the front of the store. It seems like a nice place to just unwind and just have fun. It's a really cute and clean spot. I've been to another location of FK before and it was a fine meal but just an inconvenient location for me. This location is also a bit out of the way for me in SE but when I saw how good that bowl of Mi Quang looked in my friend's pics with all of the toppings and saw the cloudy and slightly drizzly weather today...there was only one place I wanted to go for lunch, Friendship Kitchen My food came out and it tasted great overall with some minor issues that I'm sure will get resolved on their own. Portions were great as well as the herb platter but I wish I didn't have to ration the broth as there wasn't that much. Prices are a bit high for Vietnamese but probably in line with the location here on Mississippi street.
