The cutest little unassuming spot right by a beautiful park and the waterfront. I knew that I wanted to try this place as soon as I saw where it was located; and honestly, no ragrets even though we went rather early on a weekend. The interior is small, but so green and inviting and our barista was so kind! Definitely 5/5 for service. We hadn't realized that they only had alternative milks here but hey kudos for the variety and for the compostable to go cups or the option of a glass jar (with a deposit/return)! My husband got the pistachio latte with oat milk whereas I went with a classic vanilla latte with oat milk. I was intrigued by one of the milk choices which I believe was pumpkin hazelnut? Could be cool to try with a fall drink~ I will be honest about the fact that I prefer dairy for most of my drinks and can be picky about oat milk at times, but this one was good! The coffee itself had a good flavor and bless them for not making the vanilla be overbearing or too sweet. Happened upon this cute little cafe because it was walking distance from the hotel that I was staying at for a conference. I love their attempts to reduce waste with their eco-friendly disposable drink ware and glass bottle options--I would definitely take advantage of those if I were a local resident! The service was efficient and friendly and did not make you feel like you had to rush to leave their cozy little greenhouse. Their lattes were also very tasty--being a cow-milk drinker, I didn't fully realize that this was an oatmilk drink until I finished it! read more

Love this quaint little place! Went multiple times while visiting family. Enjoyed sitting in the garden, and the fact that they served us with actual coffee cups while we stayed and recycled cups when we took Togo. Flavor of their beans is great! They also know how to make a good flat white and not just turn it into a hot milk coffee beverage. Check them out! read more

Stopped here while visiting Portland and staying up the street at the Hyatt. It's a unique small spot near a small garden. The service was great and helpful since we had never been here. We tried the coconut sugar vanilla latte and it was amazing! It was a chilly morning...we ordered hot and to go and they served the coffee in these neat glass containers. Very cute small coffee shop. I love the outdoor seating and in a wonderful location. I enjoy their selection of teas. I had a latte once and it tasted a little different than I'm used to, only to find out later that they only use oat milk as the regular milk and don't offer dairy milk. Both of the people who made my drinks were very friendly and helpful. read more

we stumbled upon this shop on a rainy day and it's the cutest little thing ever. the location is so pretty; right by the willamette river and a little garden/park area with grass, ducks, trees, and a pond. the shop has big glass windows that made the rain feel calming (and i imagine a sunny day would be perfect here too). its interior is filled with beautiful plants; hanging and potted, some art, and a few lil trinkets. the staff's kindness really stood out to us; they were so kind, welcoming, and helpful. our drinks were so delicious ! we got a caramel latte and something between an americano and latte with caramel (my partner is trying to find her golden ratio for coffee and they were very considerate with the request) we saw that they were having a slow winter season and wanted to make sure we could support them ! we were excited to find a spot that cares so much about sustainability. they serve drinks in glasses or you can bring your own ! i was also very excited about their bamboo straws because i feel hesitant to use plastic straws and im not a big fan of the paper ones. plus im hoping to use the straw to support one of my plants ! read more

An absolute gem of a coffee shop! Coffee and treats were tasty, and they have tons of house made syrups--plus a whole separate list of seasonal concoctions! The shop itself is quite small but cutely decorated and has a lush greenhouse feel, looking out over some little-known public gardens. any coffee shop that has a felt set of frog and toad is a favorite of mine! but seriously, i really appreciate this place. as a downtown resident, it's nice to have a coffee shop nearby that well, isn't in the heart of downtown (as much as i also appreciate the area). it really feels like a quiet, earth-celebratory oasis at other places, sometimes the consideration of whether my latte is worth the environmental cost of a plastic cup ends up dissuading me from ordering one. it's so nice to see several different ways in which our spot minimizes its environmental footprint and at least in a past visit, their oat milk was GF, which allows me to order a hot latte without worry of getting sick from cross-contact. and the barista was super friendly and helpful when I asked her questions about it read more

A friend recommended grabbing coffee in the area and i'm so glad she did. We agreed upon coming to Our Spot and loved how cute of a shop it was! It's a small space so it's mainly seating outdoors at some of their tables but it's close to a park so you can also also walk around to enjoy your cup of coffee. I didn't venture too much into their specials but enjoyed a vanilla latte and even got lucky with parking. That's likely the tricky part around this area but if you're grabbing food nearby they're worth checking out. read more

What a find on the Convention Place District of Portland! Serve in a skinny mason type jar that you bring back to recycle. My hotel recommended after I asked for LOCAL (not just Starbucks/umbria/stumptown....) No cows milk though so I couldn't get whipped cream on my triple Americano. But the splash of oat milk sufficed. Charming, tiny coffee spot serving delicious, organic coffee drinks and tea, hot and iced. They have fresh pastries that vary daily - today was green onion and spinach scones. Yum! Inside is painted green with three really cool copper hanging pendant lights ivervthe counter. There are lots of windows to let in the natural light and the garden views. There is a counter bar with seats, and outside, some tables and chairs. Located right next to the South Waterfront Garden, I prefer taking my beverage and snack onto one of the garden benches to enjoy while surrounded by this slice of lushness in the city. This is a cute little coffee shop right off the river next to the Hyatt hotel. I love that they use glass jars BUT not for hot coffee. My friend got a hit latte and even with the cardboard sleeve they put it in it was still really hot. I got an iced vanilla latte which was good. I also love that they offer gluten free options for their pasties. The baristas are always very friendly and welcoming. It's a VERY small space so it's not really a sit down and drink your coffee place if that's what you're looking for. read more

I love that they make all the plant milk in house even almond milk. I also love that they don't use plastic! I trust their coffee and ingredients quality and baristas are always so nice to talk to. I'm so grateful to have such a special place for drinks and not having to stress about inflammation (most coffee places use inflammatory milk alternatives that have canola oil and gums; also most coffee has mold and plastic lids/cups will leach into your drink and increase inflammation in your body). Had been a moment since last visit to Portland, and was staying down near the river at my preferred hotel in the area RiverPlace. Hotel has coffee but wanted something more... walked on down the river path to "Our Spot", a tastefully curated garden coffeeshop, subtly undercover with tons of appeal while blending into the greenery of the rivers edge. Reviewing the menu, all the options one would expect, plenty of milk choices, handful of baked options, lots of creativity, drinks served in glass bottles... then I heard Brit (founder and craftsperson behind the counter) say the magic words "we make our own flavor syrups with carefully selected ingredients" and "our mocha's are awesome!!! Well, a mocha sounded pretty good, I had brought my own mug which was welcomed, and wow, this mocha indeed was awesome!!! Impeccable service, decor warm and inviting, ultra cool tiled floor, the details and care that went into creating this spot are present everywhere, and there was legitimate joy in that mocha, so much so I went back for a second the next day before heading home. Lovely spot! A bit pricey for a drip coffee $7 but I love that they have no single use plastic & everything is vegan. It was our first time here so we didn't know how it worked with the jars. I ordered a cappuccino and it was automatically in a jar not a mug :/. They should maybe ask if it's for here or to go before they automatically charge the extra $1.00 jar fee per person. Aside from that all good & I would come back! :) read more

Honestly would leave 0 stars if I could. The two staff members messed up every drink they made (lost track of orders, kept giving out the wrong cups and carelessly dumping them into the new cup while spilling the drink) but they didn't 'make' the drink at all. Dumped in cold oat milk, added chocolate syrup into the cold milk, and then poured the espresso on top and handed it out. This photo is of a 16oz oat milk mocha to go after I opened and stirred it myself. I understand they are busy but for $7 I shouldn't have to mix my own drink or have half the cup empty due to them spilling it and not repouring the drink. I wanted to love this place but clearly the people working do not care about providing quality service or product... I can't tell if the coffee was bad because of the people making it or if it is bad in general but I doubt I will be back read more

The name of the place really says it all. This cozy cute little nook of a cafe was probably my favorite matcha spot during my trip to Portland. It was walking distance from my hotel, and even the walk was lovely. The cafe itself is a cute little shack in a gorgeous area by Willamette River. There's somewhat limited indoor/outdoor seating I would guess depending on how busy it gets, however the cafe is right in front of a little park by the waterfront greenway, so there's additional shaded benches surrounded by the beautiful Portland greenery. The drinks were delicious on both accounts, and I loved the cups and straws we were given by dining in. There was no line when we arrived around midday, so we got our drinks pretty quickly. I loved the plants and green decor inside the cafe, and we enjoyed our drinks on one of the nearby park benches. I honestly think the drinks themselves were delicious, but the vibes of the cafe and surrounding area were also immaculate, so it was overall a 10/10 experience and is definitely an experience I will reminisce fondly on. read more

Es-Yen A classic Thai-style iced coffee made with condensed milk. This was strong, sweet, and definitely had that much-needed wake-me-up effect! The condensed milk gave it a creamy sweetness while still allowing the bold coffee flavor to shine through. It was the perfect balance of sweet and strong exactly what I needed. Buttered & Sweetened Condensed Milk Toast I originally had my eye on the pandan toast, but it's clearly a popular choice because it was already sold out earlier in the day! So I went with the buttered and sweetened condensed milk toast instead, and I'm so glad I did. The toast was crispy on the outside, buttery, warm, and finished with that sweet condensed milk flavor. Every bite practically melted in my mouth. The pandan toast is definitely on my list for next time! My Portland experience was made even better by my stop at Kaleido Coffee. Unfortunately, both suffered from a grind that was a little too fine, resulting in bitterness that was overwhelming in each. The single origin had some promise, with some pleasant acidity in the background, but it couldn't break through the bitter. Things were a little better in my wife's mocha, which had a deep chocolate flavor and silky smooth milk, it paired well with the cinnamon knot pastry we shared. Maybe a place to stick with the milk drinks, or at least this was my experience on this day.

I enjoy getting comfortable on Joe's very colorful red cushions, taking in the purple Egyptian vibes within and the eccentric vibrancy that is Hawthorne outside. Fun fact: Joe doesn't believe in plain old ice, and instead he freezes cubes of milk! The cubes stratify into discrete layers that are fun to crunch through, reminiscent of the layers of baklava. Very enjoyable for someone who normally avoids ice or chewing on ice.

We stopped in here after playing a round at the Wonderwood Mini Golf. It had been hot and cramped and we really needed a drink. The door was being held open by a line of people and usually that is a great sign. Being busy is awesome for the business and I am glad they are so popular. It was a weekday, probably around 11 am and there were just so many people in line. It was really cute inside but SO chaotic. There were tons of kids screaming and at times it was difficult to tell where the line really was. After about 5 minutes of the line not moving, I started to get a slight headache from the noise and we agreed we would have to go somewhere else. It was probably for the best as all the indoor and outdoor seating was full so there would have been nowhere for us to eat even if we had braved the line. I think when a business reaches this level of popularity, it's important to put systems in place to keep patrons from feeling crowded and overwhelmed and it's definitely something they might want to look into in the future.

I still can't get over my first visit to Our Spot in Portland. I parked downtown because I wanted to do the river loop, and right outside there was some guy completely naked, dancing around, screaming, pretending to shoot guns, acting absolutely out of his mind. I don't know if he had anything to do with the shop or was just another chapter in the strange novel that is downtown Portland, but I can honestly say I've never seen anything quite like it in my life. Total chaos. What's funny is that somehow, through all that madness, this tiny little coffee shop still stuck in my head. So I came back later with a friend. Then I came back again. And this morning was my third trip. Every single time, the coffee has been unreal. Smooth, rich, perfectly brewed, like somebody in there actually cares about every cup they hand across the counter. Honestly, this might be the best coffee I've ever had. And the details make this place special. The cups are awesome. No giant logos screaming at you, just this clean minimalist design that somehow feels classy and cool at the same time. They sip perfectly without even needing a straw, and apparently they biodegrade in like six months, which is honestly impressive. Little touches like that tell you these people are putting thought into what they do. The shop itself is tiny, cute, and tucked right along the riverfront pumping out absolute quality. Excellent customer service every time I've gone in. Friendly people, great energy, no nonsense, just really good coffee. This place honestly inspires me. I've always thought it would be cool to own a coffee shop someday, and places like this remind me why. You walk in and realize how much personality and creativity can fit into such a small space. Five stars all day long. If you're a real coffee person and tired of generic chains, this is a hidden gem. The locals probably already know. The rest of you are welcome. read more

What once was "Pajarjo" is now "Our Spot," and I have to say, the transformation is impressive! The new owner seems truly dialed into his craft, offering unique options like pumpkin-hazelnut milk and homemade coconut sugar vanilla syrup. I decided to give these special offerings a try with an iced latte, and I wasn't disappointed. The focus on sustainability at Our Spot is clear, from the glass cup and straw to the quick service. I really appreciated these thoughtful touches, which made my experience even better. The ambiance is wonderfully relaxing, with a gentle breeze flowing through the tiny bungalow. The lofi hip hop playing in the background adds to the chill vibe, and the natural lighting combined with pothos cuttings gives the place a fresh, inviting feel. Overall, I really liked this place!
