I am a pizza snob from Brooklyn NY. We have lived here for six months. We tried other places where the crust tasted and had texture like it came out of a mix from the supermarket. Finally, finally(!) we have found pizza that has the right crust (just enough crunch and bite, with enough softness), not too much sauce (good sauce, not sweet like other places) and good cheese. We of course had pepperoni and onions. Perfect. We got this to-go, my wife went inside to pick it up, she said the gentleman at the counter was very nice and actually spoke Italian. Five stars for the pizza! We got wings, but the jury is still out because my wife made a mistake and ordered a flavor she didn't like. We will try that again. Recommended! read more

So I learned that the FBs are not all "under one roof". I found my baked ziti online for $12/13 bucks, but noted a FB closer than the one I found online so drove to it. Asked for the Baked ziti...it wasn't in the menu nor in the register to ring up, but he said he could do it. I stated I'd seen it on the website and that's when I learned they aren't all the same. He charged $15 for it, but nothing I could say since they are different places I'd asked for extra cheese, didn't get it, but it was still good without the extra. And the salad was really really good. No real complaints...it was a decent serving size, but when I get it from other places it's always enough for a second meal The place was clean, but cold: I don't know that they had the best in in the finding area, despite it being in the 30s outside A few folk (seemingly regulars) came and left with takeout. Ordered takeout and I'd do it again! Got a two-topping of ham and pineapple and it was delightfully balanced in flavors and cheesiness! Got a Special Boli and really got good chunks of veggies. Reminded me of a pan fried veggie pocket. Well seasoned and didn't explode or leak! Super loved that! My partner got the wings and the mild had our mouths singing! What a real flavor punch! Fortunate Special Steak A cheesesteak with pepperoni. THE BREAD?!?!? OMG the fresh soft bread with perfect toasting on the outside. The meat could've used some seasoning, I added the garlic they provide in the place. I also would've like the sun to be a tad fuller. Mozzarella Sticks Perfectly golden brown. Came for a slice of pepperoni. They did not char the pepperoni enough. It was basically cold. The sauce was bright and fresh. The dough was chewy on the inside with a crisp outer layer. The slice was more rigid than floppy. Overall this was a pretty good slice of pizza that was tasty and reasonably portioned. read more

I'm bummed! I saw the great reviews on another location and assumed it would be the same. Granted I finished my food... I'm also pregnant and starving. Ordered delivery at the encouragement of my sister who was saying how good the crab cakes were and I wasn't disappointed. Tasty crabcake, excellent amount and taste of the fries and a salad. Glad I listened to her. I also ordered spaghetti and meatballs for later as I do not want to leave the house. Smells great. Looks good. Hopefully it tastes as good as it looks. Im not sure what the problem is but ever since they have new owners the quality of they food has suffered its a shame because they have been a part of this community for a long time. We honestly ordered delivery from here one day because it was the closest place to our house while we were doing renovations. Not only did they arrive earlier than expected, but the food was fantastic! My favorite cheesesteak in the area, and the pizza-eaters enjoyed their pie. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered delivery again the next day for cold cuts. Again, really delicious and full subs, but not too full where they become messy and difficult to eat. I'm picky about the bread for my subs because the vessel can make or break the sandwich. Their bread is excellent! Highly recommend! read more

I like Fortunatos. It's better than a lot of the chains in the area (it is a local chain). They're of the business model where they often have the food prepared ahead of time and warm it up, especially for slices and lunch service (think Sbarro's, but closer to a real restaurant in food quality and feel). Anyhow, the pizza is a thinner crust, with good crunch. They usually have a decent selection of slices available for purchase. And if you're gaming at Critical Hit next door, they'll walk your food over for you when it's warm, which is super nice of them. read more

One of the few places that delivers to Riverside. Every time I visit home my dad will order from here. Since he refuses to move into the the next century and STILL writes checks, Fortunato Bros is what I get. Thank you for enabling him to remain in the 90's!! :) The food is good. Pizza crust is crunchy and toppings are solid. Cheese-steaks are delish and a must for me since I still haven't found a spot in Hawaii to duplicate those. The Stromboli's are also a good option. Absolutely horrible!!! I tried to give them a second chance as the last time they put my salad in with the pizza when they delivered. Guess what? The salad was soggy; imagine that. This time I ordered a cheese pizza which was barely cooked. I asked for well done fries and the were also barely cooked and were soggy. I ordered naked wings which were burnt to the point that there was barely any meat left on them. They also only put one bleu cheese in for 20 wings and three tiny pieces of celery which were under the wings. Guess what happens when you put cold celery under charred wings? They get SOGGY. I spent $46 dollars (before tip) on food that my kids wouldn't eat and I had to choke down because it was too late to make something else. The entire point of ordering out is convenience. At least the salad wasn't wilted only because I asked for them to put it in a separate bag. And these people are demanding $15 an hour. LOL! read more

Let me begin by writing that I rarely ever write a review, bad or good. However, my experience tonight left me with the need to do so. It took close to 10 minutes for anyone to take my order with no one on line and an empty restaurant (a couple finishing up their meal). No big deal it's just 10 minutes on a busy Saturday night, right? Well, $40+ for one personal size pizza, and two baked zitis, one meat and one meatless. Here was my order. Chicken parm sandwich, French fries and a 20oz coke. The driver got to my hotel room in about 40 minutes with the chicken parm sandwich and the French fries but no coke. We visit this spot every now and then but our stop last night is it for us. The place isn't as clean as it should be. Bathrooms smell terrible and appear to not have been cleaned in months. (Ring around toilet in ladies room) Plates were left stacked on a table across from us the whole time. Random bus pan under pizza oven with scraps of dough and trash. We have been LONG time customers. Food has always been good. The one star is for service which has declined over time and was obvious yesterday. We ordered online for a 1:00 delivery. At 1:30 I called to check on it and was told the driver was out with it. That was LIE #1. A few minutes later they called me and told me they had missed checking the online order system and they were making our food right now. That was LIE #2. A few more minutes goes by and they call again saying that they had delivered incorrectly to the house across the street. Awkward silence and then I ask what I am supposed to do about that? She says maybe start by going over there and asking why they accepted your food? Really? Wrong of a neighbor to accept, but not my problem. Ok, she says we will remake. Few more minutes and the manager arrives at my door to show me the food that she reclaimed from the neighbor and to tell me that ours was being made as we speak. Few more minutes (over an hour now from our intended delivery time) and the same manager arrives with our new food. Here's the kicker. She gives me attitude like some of this was my fault. Basically thrusts the boxes and bag at me and not even a word after I say "thanks". No apology, no discount, no comp. no nothing. When I got home and started to eat my sandwich I noticed they forgot to put the grilled shrimp on my sub. When I called back to let them know about the mistake. They quickly offered to fix their mistake and because I live in their delivery area. They promptly delivered a new sandwich to my door. I've been going to the Fortunato Brothers in Abingdon for several years now. And the quality of the food and service has declined over those years. Sometimes, the food is cold. Sometimes, they forget one of your items (always check your bags and boxes. And sometimes, they get an item wrong. Usually, it's one of the three when we order something from there. But lately, the bigger issue for me, it seems they have been getting very skimpy with the toppings on their pizzas and the meats in their subs. One day we order two subs: a cheesesteak and a chicken cheesesteak. The meat on the cheesesteak was such a small amount, you couldn't tell if anything was on the sub with the roll closed. You had to open it up and then shake your head at the meager portion of steak they gave you. And the chicken cheesesteak was even worse. Holding both in your hands, you could tell the significant weight difference as well as see it. Of course, you had to pry the roll open first. Prices go up and quantity goes down. Something's not right there. I think we will be Box Hill patrons from now on. read more
