Would def come back again. This salt and pepper chicken wings are out of the world The food is hot and and service is great. The cashier lady is sweet and nice. I use to live in Tracy and was eating here when this place was called Orient Express back in the early 2000s. I recently stopped by and was shocked that the place is now called Fortune Garden. This was my 1st tasting of the food since mid 2000, and to me, the food tasted better during the Orient Express days. The shrimp fried rice that I ordered had more of a burnt taste to it than rice. I went to the Fortune Garden on Sep. 5th 2018 I ordered $48.00 of variety of food; money I cannot afford to waste. The shrimp fried rice tasted bad. As I bit into the shrimp my stomach turned. I immediately called Fortune Garden and talked to a young woman who mostly translated to the older woman that answered the phone first. I Informed her of the bad shrimp. She said if more then half is there, you can have a refund. I get there literally a 1/4 was missing less than one serving. When I got there they opened the box, then poured it out in a bowl while I stood there watching and confused, as the older woman and the chef examined the food, continuously saying shrimp and another language. They argued back and forth in front of me in another language. I stood there and did not say a word. No apologies were given, such terrible customer service. While the receipt printed they continue to argue after the woman who spoke English began to print my receipt, I said thank you and they did not say anything, so cold and unprofessional. Now It's been 4 days and still no refund. All this for a $8.99 shrimp fried rice. read more

Came in craving some Chinese food and drove by and it looked inviting and clean. Decided to stop in and have dinner. We got a ton of food just to try a little bit of what they had to offer. Everything that we had was so delicious! So much flavor and fresh! The waitress was really friendly and attentive. I would make the 20 minute drive to come and get my Chinese food fix! I'm Chinese and know good Chinese food. Ehhhh....I won't be going back to this place. If you want good won ton soup, DO NOT GO HERE. Soup was not tasty and the won tons was almost meatless. I couldn't believe how little meat they put in their won tons. It was almost no meat at all. Talk about being stingy! The honey walnut prawns tasted doughy. Their pan fried noodles was average. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else for good Chinese food. Not only that, portions were smaller and more expensive than other places in Tracy. I was happy to find pork buns offered at Fortune Garden, so it was a great disappointment to receive stale chewy tasteless pork buns, especially after paying the additional high price for delivery. The garlic fried chicken were greasy soggy and oddly in the shape of egg rolls. The potstickers were comparable to other takeout restaurants (hence, the two stars). Unfortunately, I won't order from here again, and recommend you go elsewhere for better quality food. read more

We ordered Teriyaki chicken, so bad the chicken tasted like it was stored in the fridge for months that it had an expired, old taste, when cooked it rendered the chicken hard, and rubbery. So grossed out that when I told the waitress about it, instead of apologizing, she defensively told me that their chicken is not bad and ignored my complaints. Not going back there again. As other reviews have said, it's sad that Orient Express is gone! I will say that the remodel of the inside is nicer however I never stay there to eat, I always bring it home. They have raised prices since the old place (which I can deal with after all it might be the reason that the old place isn't there). However, not only did they raise prices but they drastically cut the amount of food you get! I haven't had Chinese food in a while and the wife and I were excited to get some only to be VERY disappointed with very tasteless food. If the owners read these please let the public know when you get a new cook because until then we won't be back!! read more

There's only one other Chinese restaurant that's equal to this place and that's Mandarin Villa. This place has a great cook! The flavors in the food is really authentic Chinese cooking. The new management is a little slow but the food is worth it. I'll be going to this place from now on. read more

The service was prompt and each person who helped us was extremely pleasant. Most importantly the food was delicious! The portions were of a good size and the prices were reasonable. First time since this new restaurant took the spot of Orient Express. It was VERY, VERY, GOOD. Scale up from the old place. NO MSG!! A BIG PLUS for me. We had the dinner combo with sweet & sour pork, egg roll, with chow menu that had chicken & sprout, beside the cabbage, onions, etc. a lot more then plain one at Mei Mei. And my husband had the almond chicken & lots of very good vegetables, fried rice & egg roll. Both were $8.95 each. WELL WORTH IT. And the interior has been redone and is very nice!!!! First, a moment of silence for the passing of one of Tracy's finest, "the Orient Express" Now for the new owners attempts at recreating the magic and value of the former delightful food. Their attempt is a dismal failure. They have raised prices about 50%, cut the amount of meats and nuts in their dishes, and the cook has no idea how to make decent chicken chow mein. This stuff is dreadful. Fried rice, below average. Cashew Chicken, awful. You have to go hunting for the nuts and they are soft and tasteless while the dish from the previous owners the nuts were crisp and fresh and overflowing out of the top of the container. Crab meat puffs taste and look like something that was purchased pre-made. Find a new source, these are awful. So gone are the previous owners and their extraordinary cuisine and we have the Fortune Garden as its replacement. You should have hired someone that can cook. We will not be back. read more

Walked in to place an order to go and a beer while I waited- took an hour for them to prepare 4 items: won ton soup, chicken chow mein, orange chicken & szechuan shrimp. I went here believing it was still orient express. After realizing it was new owners I still gave it a chance. $55 worth of food and I am completely disappointed. The shrimp was rubbery, the teriyaki chicken was chewy and drenched in sauce, and the orange chicken tasted like frozen Panda Express. I will never go back. read more

4 stars- im a fan of the original Orient Express so when change came I was skeptical . But after todays delivery, i'm pretty satisfied. I ordered the beef chow fun which was very flavorful and the container was packed. The honey walnut prawns were good but not as many in the container as the Orient days, still good though. The negative was they dont offer a free item like Orient did or Mei Mei's! Thats a big concern because, its kind of pricey, so it's definitely a perk to spend $30+ and get a choice of a free item-that boost customer loyalty all day, so disappointed in that. BUT, and a big consideration at that-is the salt and pepper chicken wings were AMAZING. Perfectly seasoned, well priced, featherless(i notice a lot of asian restaurant wings have feathers), and cripsy.LOVE THE WINGS. As a wing connoisseur, i was pleasantly suprised. The wings stayed crispy even with the delicious onion and pepper blend topping. The wings have my return service alone! Overall, it hit the spot, and i look forward to dinning in as i notice they have remodeled the place! And as they gain recognition with new ownership, i hope they add the free item perk! read more

First time EVER writing a Yelp review but I have to say something. I can't say this is the worst place I've ever had but it was a major disappointment. I had eaten at the Orient Express for years(previous operation) and was calling in an order. When they answered the phone, I thought I dialed incorrectly but they told me it was new ownership. Decided to go ahead and place the order for pickup. Mistake. As soon as I lifted the bag I knew there was a problem. The order was literally less than half the amount as before and about 20% more expensive. So I thought maybe it was really high-end and tasty. Nope. Really quite bland. Sorry, I don't want to sound too harsh but I was really disappointed. Full disclosure: I only ordered a couple of BBQ pork appetizers so I can only speak to that. I hope the new owners eventually understand what the previous clientele have come to expect otherwise it will be a short run for them. I guess I will be looking for another Chinese restaurant to frequent. read more
