Unfortunately the food was not good. Onions and green pepers were not cooked. They were completely raw and if you've ever taken a bite of a raw white onion you know how harsh it tastes. Whoever's giving this place more than 2 stars must think McDonald's is fine dining. This is fast food and nothing more. . . or better. The egg rolls at Quiktrip are higher quality, and the sesame chicken was mostly breading and gristle. The portions are large, so if you're just hungry and want to be full - of anything - by all means, fill-up here. Good chinese/vietnamese food close to home. My son loves the sesame chicken. Portions are quite large and filling - huge plus! The ap chao is hit and miss sometimes. THEY HAVE TOFU DISHES ON THEIR LUNCH MENU!!! Ok, now that I've expressed how excited I am to finally find a place with tofu on their lunch menu, let me get on to the rest of the review, lol. This place is really great and even before I found out about their lunch tofu, I was extremely happy they moved in, as Wen's is garbage, and while I LOVE TJin's (seriously, they're phenomenal, and the staff knows us there), sometimes I've just had an extremely long day and crossing the freeway is the only thing I'm willing to do. We've been here a few times now and each time the service and food has been great! My husband and roommate always get chicken dishes, which they've thoroughly enjoyed, and I've had the Buddha's delight a couple times. Serving size is pretty great for lunch, so much so that I still pack up about 1/3-1/2 of my entree for a snack or meal to go. Their lunch special usually includes a meat egg roll, but they've been totally willing to sub mine for their veggie egg roll at no additional charge each time. Since all of their soups, which are also included with the lunch special, contain animal products, my husband or roommate have always taken serving, and the staff has always been cool about it. The boys have had the wonton and egg drop soup and have said their wonton soup is the clear winner between the two, no input on hot and sour yet. I always ask for my meal extra spicy, too, and they've been totally willing to accommodate. We haven't had any of the Vietnamese offerings on the menu yet, but I look forward to trying their bun, as, unfortunately, they don't have vegan broth for their pho...(yet? fingers crossed!). Still, even without vegan pho, this place has been a real gem. From the food, to the great staff, to the really nice contemporary interior design, we're very happy to have this place so close and will have to split our meals out between Fortune & TJins now! I have visited this place twice since it has opened. I wanted to see how it compares to Wen's, which is In the same shopping center. Well, my first experience was great I ordered off the lunch menu. I ordered shrimp and broccoli and it was so flavorful. I also ordered a boba tea which I'm happy I have a closer location to go to now. On my second visit I was I was not impressed. I ordered the Cajun fried rice and it was so dry and all they give you is one soy sauce. The majority of the container was rice that can be seen in the picture that I have posted. When you want fried rice I would recommend Wen's because theirs is more flavorful. If you want more variety of choices for lunch come here. read more

I normally take my food to go or have it delivered. Tonight we decided to eat in, tried the shrimp balls, they were mediocre at best. Of course the tso chicken was great and served piping hot like I love. The lomein lacked flavor, but above all the customer service was subpar. I never felt so watched in my entire life and I get it some people standout but that staring was over the top. When we got there we weren't greeted and when we ready to order the cashier just walked away. I gave 3 stars for the food but I'd give 0 stars for the customer service. This spot rocks. Wide variety of dishes and everything is well prepared and has generous portions. The pad Thai is delicious as well as the basil shrimp. They also have bubble teas! Check out the pho, especially if you're feeling under the weather. It will cure what ails you. Whether you get lo mein, fried or steamed rice, those staples are perfect -- which is how I judge many restaurants. If you can't do the staples, what can you do?
