This restaurant was swamped. I sat down and only a moment later two families were behind me and waited for a seat. Not long. But just to show you how popular the restaurant was, as we were leaving, people were still walking in. I had Thanksgiving for breakfast. Turkey and cranberry sauce. Potatoes and Gravy. This was my first time visiting Cindy's Restaurant. While the food itself was okay, the customer service was disappointing. Our waitress (a woman with bangs I didn't catch her name) seemed rushed and disengaged from the start. Instead of standing still to listen to our order, she appeared eager to walk away, which made us feel brushed off. Throughout our meal, she never came back to check on us or ask if we needed refills or anything else. The only time she asked if we needed anything was at the very end, when we were already packing up our plates to make it easier for her to clean the table. Meanwhile, she repeatedly checked on other tables and made sure they had everything they needed. She also seemed much friendlier and more attentive with other guests, especially the men, which made the difference in service very noticeable. I understand everyone can have an off day, but as a first-time customer, this experience left a poor impression. I hope this feedback helps improve consistency in customer service, because it truly affects the overall dining experience. Personality I will not come back. First thing: hands down, Cindy's makes the greatest salsa EVER! This unassuming spot is usually pretty busy, especially on a Saturday. It literally feels like home in there. It's clean and serves up the best comfort food. A restaurant serving American & Mexican dishes threw me off at first but it makes sense, especially for the area. It's a perfect combination of a typical American diner food and traditional Mexican dishes. Where else can you get good huevos rancheros and chicken fried steak and eggs?! Oh and did I mention free chips and salsa?! The parking lot here is super funky. It's right off golden state in a busy intersection so be careful! Overall, a must try for breakfast or lunch. Food comes out hot but I can definitely make a better breakfast at home. The salsa, it tastes like an el pato can. The biscuits and gravy, I've had better for sure. So I have lived in Turlock since 2007. Driven by Cindy's many many times but never stopped here for breakfast. Why? That's a darn good question. The wife and I finally made the pit stop and let me just say, we were glad we did. We were seated in the outside dining since the restaurant was packed. It was morning time so the weather was perfect. I went with their special which consisted of two eggs, I picked two sausage links, potatoes and toast. The wife went with the breakfast enchiladas. They offer chips and salsa which were YUMMY. Warm corn tortilla chip but they felt as if they were flour chips. Weird but delicious. The salsa had a kick. The kind of kick where your mouth is burning but you can't stop eating it. Did I mention they serve Pepsi products? I love me some Diet Pepsi. The food came out fast and it was time to eat. My food was delicious. My wife liked her plate to. Her only complaint and I agree, leave the lettuce garnish off the plate. No one likes wilted lettuce. Talk about a great experience overall. The menudo con pata is so yummy! They serve it with half of an extra large lemon, chopped cabbage and chopped onion. They also provide dried oregano and dried chile del árbol. We came here for breakfast. This place is always great . When we come to Turlock in the morning, we stop here for breakfast. Everything is always good. From breakfast to dinner. Stopped at this restaurant on 4/13/2023, Being from out of town my friends recommended it. I took my friends to Brunch. I had the Chili Verde Omlette. Needless it didn't taste like Chili Verde. I The Chili Verde flavor was missing. Was so faint that it was like the three stooges making chicken soup just holding the chicken and pouring the water thru it. The Beans were non existent of any flavor along with the over cooked Spanish/Mexican rice. One of my friends was served a dish with the longest black hair. Needless to say they took that off the bill. I won't be coming back and my friends won't either. Staff friendly but the food didn't cut it. So long Cindys I won't be back. read more

First off, we were completely ignored when we walked in, at least let your customers know you'll be with them shortly instead of just looking at us sideways like we're just another table coming in to bother you. I ordered the tuna melt with potato salad. First off, the potato salad was from a box. It was the same kind I can pick up from Save Mart or Costco. I mean, who does that? So sad and disappointing, not too mention tacky and tasteless. I should have ordered the fries instead but then I saw them on my friends plate and was glad I didn't. What a poor excuse for French fries. Secondly, the Tuna Melt was so sad, poor in taste (what taste), cold, and the portion was as small as my palm. What happened to this place?
