Best fast food around.Prices have gone thru the roof! Will probably not return for some time.

I've lived in the area for three years and finally decided to give Foster's Freeze a try. I ordered the chili cheese fries, a Twister M&M, and the classic cheeseburger. Overall, it was okay. The cheeseburger was solid and hit the spot, and the Twister M&M was definitely the highlight, creamy, sweet, and loaded with candy. The only downside was the chili cheese fries. I wish the fries had been cooked a bit longer because they were pretty soggy under the chili and cheese. With crispier fries, it would've been much better. Service was good and the young kid taking my order didn't rush me at the drive thru window. Not a bad visit overall, but there's room for improvement. read more

Absolutely love foster freeze. For the people complaining about portion sizes, fast food should be a treat not a buffet. I typically will order a small twister and typically can't finish it. The place is nostalgic typically with kids working just like it should at an old style drive in. The staff is always friendly, always respectful when we stop in and they always do a good job! It's a nice treat every once in a while for some delicious ice cream treats. read more

Great fresh and delicious car hop style food. Fish and chips are solid! They make a fantastic hot fudge shake. Probably my fav in the world. Their corn burritos are my go to. I get the fish with zucchini fries which are excellent as well. read more

I am giving 5 stars because this is the best fast food place around here. It beats the big guys with good tasting food and friendly service. You can still get your own soft drinks unlike some of the McDonalds who are removing their fountains. read more

She's exactly the kind of person you hope to see behind the counter at an ice cream shop--warm, friendly, and full of positive energy. Her personality instantly made the experience even more enjoyable. On top of that, she was extremely professional and efficient. I have been going here my whole life and let me tell you the last time I went it has gotten so much better. Right before covid it was really going downhill. The flavor or the ice cream wasn't great and tastes almost watered down. The food was greasy and not it but this time it was so much better. It tasted like it did when I was a kid. Loved it! We went through the drive through for the first time. Y'all keep in mind - this is an icecream place with food, not a food place with icecream! Icecream - we got a small dirt n worms twister, and an apple sundae. Loved both. I appreciated that the toppings are mixed in instead of just thrown on top. A small twister is about an inch bigger than a Starbucks grande cup. The apple sundae came in a bigger cup than expected- but we soon realized it's actually a regular size clear cup inside of a large cup to prevent the whip cream and icecream from falling out - genius! Food - we got 2 fish filet combos. There's a lettuce shortage so you need to ask for lettuce if you want it - but we forgot lol. It was still really good - 1000% better than a McDonald's one lol. Inside are 2 wide fish chunks and sauce. Their buns were really good. It was surprising filling. Fries could use a little more salt but still good. Service - great. Staff was nice and chipper! The food came out super fast too - we were really impressed but this. After paying at the window, we got our icecream immediately, followed by the drinks. The food came out less than a minute later. I really love this place, but the last time I was there, they had three staff constantly cleaning the dining area. Food is quite pricey yet delicious here; however, some of the worker's attitudes are flat, unwelcoming, and monotone especially the ladies taking orders. Sometimes they say "Welcome" other times they go straight to "Can I take your order?" but their facial expressions are so uninviting and non genuine not to mention this brunette girl who is there almost everyday at the front with a very judging attitude when I have had questions about the items on the menu. Had not been to this Fosters Freeze for a few years and when I tried to order my favorite item (taquitos) I was told they no longer had them on their menu which was a bummer. So instead we got the corn burritos which were good, we liked the cheese burgers, and the fries and ice cream were very good. The young guy who took our order was awesome and patient with me as i didn't really know what to order after I was told there was no taquitos and the excellent service was very much appreciated. read more

My family has been going here since I was a child. There was a period of time that we stopped, due to a change of ownership, but we are so thankful to be coming back now that the previous owners are back! Parking is available in a private lot or on the street. The drive thru is a little tight, but I drive my SUV through it. There is ample lighting and the location is safe. There is outdoor seating so if you have a dog with you it works out perfect. As soon as you walk through the doors you receive a welcome from one and often times more of the staff. There is a wonderful male manager who is much more friendly than the female manager who you often find speaking in a demeaning manner to staff and guests. It is definitely evident that customer service training is important to the owners because outside of the one female manager, all of the staff are thorough and on it! I love that this location makes employment available to the younger age group offering them the opportunity to learn job skills and responsibilities for their future! The restaurant and bathrooms are always clean and stocked. They provide booster seats for the kiddos and those are clean too! The food is served in an accurate and timely manner and throughout the time you are eating it is common for an employee to check in on you. They have the best iced tea in town!!! Even better than Starbucks. The fried burritos, the big boss and corn burritos are just 3 of my faves. My favorite dessert is the peanut butter & hot fudge shake or the the chocolate and vanilla twist cone. My daughter loves the pineapple slushee or chocolate dipped cone. read more

We LOVE Santa Paula Foster Freeze! It's been family owned since the 60s and is a legendary fixture in quaint Santa Paula. We've driven hundreds of miles just to eat at this friendly, well managed Freeze. The very best tacos, burger and chocolate chip shakes ANYWHERE! They have other yummy offerings, but those are MY favorites:) The staff are great at their jobs, attentive and engaging. I love how the Freeze hires local, competent kids to augment their staff. Yes, $14 for a sandwich, fries and drink. Inflation is here. When politely told about the price discrepancy, the employee stated she didn't know about that and would check. Great little spot to visit while in Santa Paula. We always come here for our taquito cravings, deep fried and topped with shredded cheese, don't forget the guacamole. The burgers are always delicious and made to order, I got the Big Boss and substituted the fries with zucchini. We also got the fish filet combo and a side of corn burritos. The girl working the drive-thru window at about 3:30p today was one of the rudest people I've ever seen. All we did was ask if they sold t-shirts and she could NOT be bothered, completely blew us off, and walked away. The other girl working was very helpful and explained that we needed to come in, which we did and that was fine. The whole time we were inside, the first girl just seemed pissed off and miserable. If I were the manager (who by the way was super nice helping us buy the t-shirt), I would put the first girl who helped us (and they'll probably know who I'm talking about if they read this) in the back because she has absolutely no business working with or around customers. With businesses struggling so much right now, you can't afford to run customers away with terrible customer service. It was really SHOCKING how rude she was. Wow. read more

Love...love...love...this place. I spend a lot of time in Santa Paula and this spot is my go to for dessert. My favorites are the pineapple and peach shake. I used to get the medium size, but recently have been getting the large because yolo. Not only does it taste like the actual fruit, but there are bits and pieces of the fruit mixed in. Such a delight. You know what's even more awesome? They have food and it's super bomb. Finally decided to try their burger over the weekend and I was impressed. Not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant to try the food at first. So glad I finally did. The burger was nicely made, ingredients looked fresh and the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I opted for the onion rings which were also perfectly fried. Just a little note - it's a nice touch the way they package each thing. The onion rings were fully covered. I'd like to also note how great the staff is. I've dealt with so many of them and they've all been super professional and nice. Even the tone of their voices get me. Good food and good customer service. I came through the drive-through this afternoon and bought a small Oreo shake and corn burritos with cheese. I clarified with the girl about HOW MUCH cheese they put on them now. I was confident that there was going to be enough cheese after our convo, unfortunately I was disappointed. Don't forget to get the red sauce! 1 cup was enough for me. Regardless, the burritos were amazing and just as I remembered them from years ago at this location. Yummy and served hot. The shake was a pretty basic shake, however was bummed to see I was charged 50 cents extra to add Oreo. Had the girl TOLD ME of that extra charge AS I ORDERED, I wouldn't have gotten it. Just really would have liked to have been told before hand. Other than those things, great little place in Santa Paula, which this town TRULY needs. Will be back again soon! read more
