I recently moved to the area and was looking for food options for lunch. There aren't many, so I gave this place a try. I asked for the day's special, no issue there. When I saw "fruits" listed as a side, I politely asked what kinds they offered since I like some fruits more than others. The cashier had to ask the cook through a window multiple times. (Understandably, there seemed to be a language barrier, which I didn't mind at all.) Eventually, they told me it was watermelon, pineapple, and cantaloupe. I said great, but I'd prefer not to have cantaloupe. Just the watermelon and pineapple, if possible. At that point, an older man (not the cashier, wearing a black shirt) chimed in from across the room and said, with attitude: "Then get something else." Completely uncalled for. I wasn't being rude or demanding, just making a simple request like anyone might when ordering food. With so few food options around, I was hoping for a more welcoming experience. If I could give the flightline zero stars I would! I came to this spot two times and let me tell you they where not good experiences at all. The first time I go it was highly recommended and I check it out as I walk in its busy so I am thinking "damn should be good" I wait a bit and finally get to put an order in, I tell the older gentlemen I wanted the buffalo chicken sandwich and he asks if I wanted onion rings, fries, or chips. I opted for fries. My number gets called and bam I open up the container its a burrito. I go to the counter I tell them hey I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and they look at the number and receipt and it was a cali burrito. I was already hungry and didn't want to argue with them so I ate it. THE WORST cali burrito I have ever had. The meat was dry and cut into weird long strips and the fries where not even seasoned. Second time I had gone was maybe a month later and finally got that damn buffalo sandwich I wanted and I got the onion rings this time. Got my order and yes I got the buffalo sandwich and not a burrito. To no surprise it was as mid as a mid sandwich could be. The chicken was a sad soggy breaded chicken with hardly any buffalo but drowned in ranch. The onion rings where a greasy soggy mess. You had two tries and I can promise there won't be a third. Was on base for business, ate here for lunch 4 times. All their food is really fresh and good. Had the cob salad 2x because it was so good. Had the grilled chicken/avocado/bacon sandwich and it was delicious. The tuna wrap was really good on a tomato tortilla with spinach which added a good flavor. All of their food comes with choices of sides. I got the side salad both times and it's huge. Food came out quickly. read more

Biscuits and gravy - it's advertised as sausage gravy but where's the sausage? The biscuits were stale and taste old. Hate to say it but the boat biscuits and gravy is way better. The place is falling off in quality for sure. Service is great though from the front counter. read more

This would be a three star establishment if it was not on a base. But since it's ne of two options for food at Pt. Mugu then it's a definite 4. Large portions and decent variety of food. Service was quick and the staff was friendly enough. When I was given an option of fries or chips I picked the chips thinking it would be a bag of potato chips. I was pleasantly surprised that they were homemade and delicious. Quick, efficient and decent food. Solid place. read more

Not sure what happened to this place but it's a mess as of lately... the girl at the register can't be bothered at all. She refuses to make any kind of coffee the last few times I came in... and they are almost never making their whole menu. This place use to be good. So sad read more

I got a coffee from there and it tasted like sewer water, I gave her the benefit of the Doubt and went again the next day ordered an ice coffee and she gave me a hot one I politely said I'm sorry this was supposed to be an ice coffee and she said well they take forever to make and then started having a convo with another customer using profanity. The identity of the restaurant continues to be confused; the sign in front of the place still is High Sierra. And internet searches still are confusing. They really need to fix this. Lack of clarity can turn off some customers before they even try the place. That said, we ate there with a party of seven Wednesday, 2/13, and things were good. Two had salads, all fine. One fish tacos, liked very much. Another Fish & Chips; very good and plentiful cod. I had a cup of clam chowder and salmon, second time, and enjoyed it, but also understand another rater's comments about it being a bit overdone. Grilled just a minute less it might be perfect. Two folks had clam chowder and a sandwich and were happy. Service was attentive and pleasant. Bottom line, pretty good place at fair prices. read more

I used to come here a few years back and they were pretty good. I went today for the bbq burger and got the onion rings. The burger was a bit tasteless. I definitely wouldn't order this again. The onion rings tasted like they were cooked in the microwave. The breading was all soft. They just had a bad taste. Felt like $9.00 down the drain. I threw away 60% of my rings. read more

I like to get my morning coffee here. Breakfast burritos as available from open time to 10am. It's a hit or miss for me everytime I order a burrito it could be delicious one day and another it's so oily or my order is incorrect. I like the regular turkey sandwich with a side of regular fries or a salad. The sweet potato fries taste old sometimes. The customer service is okay if you catch the cashier in a good mood. I have seen the manager actively greeting customers and that's nice to see. 3 stars for the good days I've had here. Prices seem a bit high to me on some menu items. read more

Food and service is always outstanding! They do my mocha frappucino quite well and it is always a great place to get some Starbucks from a not so Starbucks place. Never had a bad meal there, the menu is quite extensive with sandwiches, daily specials, pastas etc. A great alternative if you don't prefer the galley or scrubway. read more

Since this place is an on-base lunch cafe, I opted to ask whether a particular salad was gluten free rather than asking which things on the menu are gluten free. I still got a blank stare. I'm pretty sure the mango chicken salad I had was gluten free, but don't risk it if you have a wheat allergy or Celiac. (I need to come up with an acronym for this to make this part of the reviews shorter.) The portions are huge; my husband and I could have split a single salad. The salad makings were fresh. The Flightline cafe is the place to be at Point Mugu Naval base. From the friendly front of house staff to the amazing cooks in the back. I love their menu, from Italian sandwiches, chicken club and burgers. Their salads are huge. Bring your appetite, because the portions are big. read more

I stopped in here twice the first time I got the cheese steak sandwich and it was pretty good. Bot nearly as good as what I'm used to back in eastern PA. The second time I was there I got the cheese burger and it was absolutely terrible. The burger patty they use is type of frozen crap the doesn't look or taste like any type of beef I have had in my life. I ate about 1/4 of it and felt like I wanted puke. read more
