So, now I can say I've eaten at both Manassas locations. This is the one that's literally across from the train station so it's really convenient for any traveler or commuter. This one I think is better than the one off of Route 28. Personally I feel it looks better and has a better feel to its customers. This time I got the boneless BBQ wings and fries. Wings are great. No skimping on the sauce and were very easy to eat. Fries this time were better too. Not heavily salted and I didn't feel like a slob afterwards (despite nailing myself with sauce due to a botched eating of a wing). I would gladly return here for another visit. Since I already know how their burgers are (nice burger), I would not be opposed to getting either a burger or wings here. Foster's Grille Manassas, VA has a sign "Seniors get 20% off Mondays". When my wife and I came in and ordered wings, we were told "no discount on traditional Foster's wings!" What!!!!!! My advice is seniors don't go to Foster's, they're not our friend. read more

I visiting a couple of weeks ago. My husband had the burger, and I had a hotdog. The burger was very good, and the fries/onion rings too. My hotdog was very dry and the bun was dry and falling apart. I will not order a hotdog there again... The restaurant has a lot of toys/cars hanging from the ceiling, and they are all really dusty... not very appealing. read more

Good Reliable Place This is right next to the railroad station. It's a typical American restaurant with things like burgers, onion rings and wings. It's a low frills place. When you walk in, you order and pay. Then you find a table, and when it's ready they bring it out to you. They even have trash cans, but if you're too snobby to dispose of your own trash like Stephen Miller, then someone will come by after you leave. And the food is excellent. Deb and I have been there multiple times. It's a relaxing environment. If it's a nice afternoon, then you can sit at a table outside and watch commuters get off the VRE. Finally tried Fosters when I found myself in Manassas at lunchtime craving a burger, As others have mentioned, the ordering system is a little different. One checks off the desired items on an order slip and hands it to the cashier. If you're a first-timer, this is not immediately obvious, and there is bound to be a moment of confusion. The burgers take a little time to make (I came at a busy time I think), but they are quite good, certainly competitive with Five Guys, which is my benchmark for popular burger places. Good fries here too, although I think Five Guys has the slight edge. The staff ranged from glum to dour, but it didn't affect the service, so I'm not deducting any points. We came here on a Sunday afternoon because our out of town friends were craving burger and since it's near our neighborhood we decided to give it a shot regardless of the average reviews. I read something about that it is confusing to order so I walk in with an open mind. Nobody greeted us as we walk in eventhough there were 2 employees behind the bar and a bus boy walking around but totally fine. We saw a stack of paper by the bar with full menu and a bunch of pencils so we figure that you fill it up when your order. While we were doing that, the girl finally acknowledged us by smiling-great!. I got a Jr. Charburger. My son got fries and chicken tender and husband got Regular charburger. Food was mediocre nothing too special about it. Will we go back again? more likely not, only for Milkshakes which we have not tried. There were reviews that employees were rude, based on our visit they were not rude just not too friendly. Just whole bunch of HS/College kids who probably just there as part timers but note to Management train them about good CS because it truly makes a difference especially here in our Small town. read more

There was a time when all I had to say was "let's go to Foster's" everyone would jump in the car - didn't matter which Foster's, the consistency and quality was the same at every one in this area, I can attest to that... but things, they are a changing. We first noticed, about a year or so ago, the buns were different (smaller, dryer) - then after a few more visits we noticed a change in the beef - a big change. Not sure but it appears they have gone with a lower grade of ground beef - can't say exactly what it is, but it just taste different. To add insult to injury, the prices continue to rise - now $10 for a burger w/fries and soda... $10! Crazy. We ate there for many years at $7( and change) and that price included the cheese, then it went to $8 something and now $9+ - w/tax, over $10. For a burger with no cheese! This ain't Morton's! The Manassas (at railroad tracks) Foster's has really changed - we ate there last week and it took nearly 15 mins to get our food (and the place was empty!) - again the beef was dry and mushy, not really charbroiled like it used to be. The only thing that remains delicious are the fries - the are the best around, for sure. Love 'em w/malt and ketchup. And they have caffeine free diet coke. The table was a little greasy but hey, it's a burger joint. Not sure we'll continue to dine here though, at least not the one in Manassas City - given all the other options out there at a more reasonable price; look, for $10 I expect table service, top grade beef, cooked to near perfection - and a moist bun big enough to hold it. Get it together Foster's or soon you'll end up like all the rest before you - people vote with their feet - and if enough customers vote "no", sadly it's lights out. You can make more money if you do volume business at a reasonable price than dwindling business at a higher price. Think about it. You've already closed up the one by K-Mart - good burger joints should never ever - fail. There is a reason for failure in the restaurant business and it's the same recipe every time - poor service, less than excellent food, cleanliness and believe it or not, price is last. I'd pay a top price for an incredible burger - but if the place is not serving great food, is slow and everything is greasy - it's time to go. Came here before a sporting event in Manassas, and had high expectations - they were met! The burgers were simply delicious, the wings were very good, the beer (of course) was cold and refreshing - I had a Fosters - and the atmosphere was that of a friendly neighborhood tavern. My only weird moment: While I was in the restroom, someone proceeded to pound and tug at the door, no matter how much I yelled "HOLD ON" or "I'M WASHING MY HANDS," etc. But when I opened the door ... nothing. No one was there. The restaurant is right next to the train tracks, so I guessed that maybe because of some weird geography the vibrations made it into the Fosters building and affected the bathroom door. Been there many times from when they opened through a couple of weeks ago dec 2016. The standard by which all other burgers are judged- its that good. Fries also excellent. You guys that don't get the burger - you are missing the point. Would you go to Mexico and get a hot dog at a taco place or go to a Chinese restaurant in Rome? I enjoy going to Foster's when I need a quick meal. The location is convenient and even when they are busy, the food comes up fast and is always well made and my order accurate. It's gotten a little run down over the years and could use a face lift, but it's still a solid place for a quick meal, especially later in the evening. read more

Fosters is an awesome little staple in Old Town Manassas, been coming here for years. I'm pretty much always suck with the good old fashioned charburger, because it's so yummy and I don't want to branch out from it and not like something else as much. My burger is always done perfectly and ask for your fries well done because then they're nice and crispy. The setting for fosters on the corner close to the pavilion and the train tracks is perfect, and sitting outside on a nice day and enjoying the trains while you eat is great! My only critique is that the staff could be a little more friendly and attentive, but I'm not high maintenance and nothing I've experienced here will make me not want to come back when I'm craving a good burger! read more

Great food but terrible, unacceptable customer service. Almost every time we have ordered food here there is either something missing or the order is wrong, (which happens I know) but what is not acceptable is the way they treat their customers, especially the lady who I believe is the manager. She's very condescending when speaking and does not admit fault for their mistakes. We always end up having to re-order things they missed and there is never an apology, just more rudeness after the fact. This will definitely be the last time we get food from this location. The food is great, but sadly, the customer service ruins the whole experience, especially when the food get cold while we wait for the missing things, then have to go home and reheat every single thing. read more

Thought I'd give this place a try b/c I had seen a good review elsewhere. Called and ordered on the phone for curbside delivery, very easy, was told to call once I arrived. I pulled up out front and called several times but it kept going directly to voicemail. So eventually I put my hazards on and rushed inside - there were tons of cops driving around and I wasn't parked in an actual space (only room was on the crosswalk in front of the building) so I was wary of getting ticketed. The line for the register was long and was all people placing their order at that time, so I went to someone else behind the counter and said I was there for curbside pickup but the phone wasn't working. He said he didn't know what to do and was a trainee so told me I had to stand in line. Can't fault him too much since he was young and new, but he could've just asked a fellow employee. When I got to the front of the line I mentioned that I was here for curbside delivery and was told to call but the phone wasn't working. She said they muted the phone b/c they were too busy...so you turned off the phone when you knew a curbside pickup customer was on their way and had to call? She apologized but didn't seem to think muting the phone was any kind of issue. The food itself was unfortunately super mediocre. The fries were eh, the cheese sauce was the only saving factor. The fried chicken sandwich was very disappointing as the chicken was very dry and flavorless. I didn't even finish the patty itself, just ate the toppings and bun. I don't normally review Fast Food style restaurants but this particular trip aggravated me a bit. To start Fosters over charged me by around six bucks... no big deal I originally thought I'll just let them know. When I told the girl they over charged me she didn't apologize at all she just acted like it was more of an inconvenience for her to take care of the situation... Anyway a man from the back came and fixed the situation so I was ok and sat down and waited for my food..... 25-30 minutes later my food came... Wow 25-30 minutes for a steak sandwich that might be a record for a fast food joint. The table beside us waited nearly 45 minuted for there groups order and expressed more than once how angry they where. This was a busier day than normal at Fosters because of a festival in downtown... But hey if you can't keep up on busy days something isn't right. Also to add... try to get on fosters website and leave a comment or talk to someone... The "Contact us" area is non existent. Strange that a large business doesn't have a contact area... Brad gave us his commitment to work with the manager on how he can come across to customers and to work with employees on health procedures. When we first walked in we weren't sure if we were supposed to wait to be seated or sit if we were allowed to sit anywhere since no one was around to greet us or explain. There were about 5 or so people behind the bar but none would say a word to us so we just went and sat at a table. About five minutes pass and we are unsure of how the ordering process works so we are just looking at the menu they have posted until we are sure of what we want, basically waiting until someone else comes in to see what they do. I wanted someone to say "hello" or "hi, have you been here before" and kind of explain how things work here. Not one person asked or said hello. Another couple walks in and they're immediately greeted with warm open arms and a friendly hello followed by "have you been here before" and an explanation of how their ordering system works. **(You must fill out a ticket at the bar and place the order before sitting down)** I'm disappointed in the service, and I'm unsure why no one greeted us or spoke to us when we were sitting there for 10 minutes or more right in front of the bar. Since the Covid crisis we have not visited Foster's grill in Vienna or any restaurant for that matter. It was a favorite for frequent visits with close friends prior to the shut down. This week my wife surprised me for my birthday by saying she was going to order out for dinner. She said it was her choice but my time for dinner. This was a hard review to write. I feel kind of bad giving this place 3 stars. We ordered 5 meals total, 2 burgers, 2 fried chicken sandwiches, and chicken fingers. I love this store! The location is great! The atmosphere is great! The staff is friendly! I love their food! I've had just about everything on their menu and can't complain! What people don't realize is everything they have is fresh and made to order. They don't precook ANYTHING.. This is NOT a fast food joint so people need to realize it's a place you can come sit and relax. If you've never been before the staff is pretty good at explaining how everything works and I noticed any food orders they took over the phone the FIRST thing they mention is it takes 12-15 minutes.. So you know just how much time you need to wait and not waste time. To the woman who complained about their baskets... I know for a fact they hand wash every basket after customers complete their meal before it is used again... And I know that they have hand sanitizer that they constantly use. I am a frequent customer!! Yes they will be picking up trash constantly off the floor but that's so the store doesn't look messy, but I think they are pretty careful on how they handle food and such! These employees are all about trying to make everyone happy and if you are not satisfied I do know Jesse the assistant manager goes out of his way to make sure if something is wrong or is screwed up that he will do whatever he can in his power to make sure you leave happy!! I would recommend this store in a heartbeat! If you've never been to a fosters grille I recommend you stop in for one of the most amazing burgers loaded however you want and you will leave happy! read more

Confusing when you come in to order. No one helps you and tells you their way to order food. You have to fill out an order form and give it to the cashier. There are no signs to tell you. It is confusing. The food is good but the portions are way too big. It is expensive. They would do better to reduce the size and the price. French fries were way salty. read more

We got there an hour before they closed, so I may have to try them again earlier in the day. Service was fast though, for the time we went and for our group of 10. One friend got the lil' charburger basket and thought the burger or fries weren't anything spectacular. I tried and had to agree. I got the wings with mild sauce and ranch on the side and they were just okay as well -- the chicken was dry. The ranch was okay (a little thinner in consistency than I was expecting). Went on a Friday early in the day. About 4-5 people there so not very busy. Ordered char burger - appropriately named. It was reheated not freshly made. The fries were cold as well. Not sure what was going on since they weren't very busy and could have easily made everything fresh. Person at register was pleasant. Not sure why they make you write your order out if they are going to write it themselves too with marker - it's redundant and unnecessary. Just write down the order from the customer.
