I called and left a message explaining that she was a particular kind of kitty and best suited in a home where she was the only pet. A man called me back, he didn't even bother to ask me any questions. he was clearly exasperated, in fact, he sounded almost insulted that I had even bothered to call them for help in the first place. He told me that they can't take a cat who can't be around other cats. Well, she's dead now. She got sick, so I could not, in good conscience, get rid of her, or send her to a shelter. So, I worked with her, until she could go no further. Hyperthyroidism was the disease and she did not respond well to the medication. In the end, we had to make the agonizing end of life decision for her and we let her go. Of course, she would have gotten sick, regardless of whether the shelter stepped up to help, or not, but I am still posting this because it is abundantly clear that they do not want to have to go above and beyond for the cats. They just want it to make pretend that they do.

We like to keep it small that way we really know the personality of all of our cats and match them up with appropriate fosters and adopters. I haven't had nothing but great experience. From the time I met the kittens to the time it came to adopting. They save a lot of kittens from being put down and they are given a home at these fosters. And these fosters work well together To make sure they help each other and give these kittens and cats a good home. I never knew I would be a kitten mom until I adopted my first two which were sisters. And then I had to have one more to even it out. They are really superb and amazing and they take really good care of these kittens so I know that they are well loved. And my kittens have adapted well to the new home I brought them in. It was the best choice I could've ever had made.

I do like them when they have a proper home and people who care about them. I went here with a friend of mine who lost his cat and wants to get another one. The volunteers were amazing and it was a wonderful experience. My friend is hopefully going to volunteer here.

For Mother's Day my mother gifted me a kitten from a friends litter. On Friday (may 22nd, 2026) my…read morekitten got out of my house and into my garage without my knowledge. She then ran out(I live in Rita ranch in a house and the garages have ventilation holes) is where I assume she got out from. Anyways I went looking for her and couldn't find her. I figured she was in my home somewhere hiding(she's a small kitten) anyways long story short my neighbor found her and in less than 24 hours she took her to this shelter. ON A SATURDAY EVENING. For context my kitten was bathed and wearing a collar so obviously had an owner. Not once did my neighbor knock on my door and I had no knowledge that she had a cat until Saturday and once I found out I left a note on her door bc she didn't answer, after that my neighbor then told me on Saturday that she took her to this shelter. I called and left voicemails on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Then I went in Tuesday as soon as I was able(1:30pm)Anyways I went to this shelter to tell them my story and try to get my cat back and they told me flat out it was theirs. Tiffany raised her voice and escalated the situation at every turn she's EXTREMELY aggressive and rude. Mind you she's supposed to be a medical vet so being in the front is none of her business. But she came out to harass me because my mom is engaged to a coworkers ex. So they are all bitter. When I spoke to the manager(Holly the one who claimed to be equally aggressive) wouldn't help me diffuse the situation. And then threatened to call the police on me for trespassing. I told her I wanted my kitten and she tried to say that it had been 3 days so it was theirs now. Mind you they got my kitten Saturday evening. We're CLOSED Sunday AND Monday. And I left voicemails and got there as early as possible Tuesday. She still wouldn't give me the cat. By far the worst experience I've ever had and I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I appreciate what they do for animals but they seriously need to do some rehiring and a crash course on customer service. I can't believe my cat is being used as a petty pawn.

I have to say that I'm puzzled by the review that described PAWSitively CATS as "depressing" with a…read morelack of space for cats and visitors. As someone who has volunteered there for over 15 years, I can attest that there are 3 separate large areas for different populations of cats (adoptable/sanctuary cats, Feline Leukemia cats, Special Needs/less than social cats) and each area typically houses between 20 and 30 felines. There are multiple rooms with screened in porches for the cats to enjoy, benches for visitors to sit on, and the only time I've seen the cats "swarm" is at the end of the day when cleaning is finished and they're expecting their treats. The post in question also claims that there is an online schedule of hours indicating that the shelter is only open to the public one day a week for 2 hours. I haven't been able to find that; instead hours are listed on Facebook as shown in the image I'm including. PAWSitively CATS is run by just a few staff members (some part time) and a few dozen dedicated volunteers. The cats are well cared for and happy.

If there was one word to describe this shelter, it would be: Depressing…read more My visit to Pawsitively Cats genuinely was an experience I never want to feel again. I am someone who ADORES cats, the type of person that will take in a stray and rearrange my whole life to care for them until their last breath. My love is so great that it pains me to see these adoptable cats living in such an uninviting space. This shelter is open to the public one day a week for TWO HOURS. I thought it was an error when I saw that schedule online, but it's true. Upon entering, the building is flooded with adoptees, and for a cat lover you'd think that'd be a dream, but instead of excitement I felt a wave of anxiety. This shelter has dim lighting that doesn't allow you to see the cats clearly, and there's no space to really connect with any of them. There didn't seem like any sort of organization to pinpoint which cat was which, and since a lot of cats do look alike, you could only hope the one you bonded with is the same one you're adopting. As I tip-toed around the cats to look at the ones in cages (for medical or behavioral purposes), I could just sense the discomfort in their eyes. Safety measures seemed nonexistent in this place; anyone could easily step on a cat's paw or trip with how many swarm around you. The worst part was when I had a tour of a backroom where countless cats were fighting for a spot to feel the fresh air from a screen window. It was like looking at a can of sardines; I can't imagine any cat could present their best selves under these circumstances. Not only is there an extremely limited window to visit this shelter, but when you do, it makes you feel unhappy being there. You'll feel just as cramped and exposed as these poor babies. This situation could be the incentive for more people to adopt here, but I don't think that's fair on either side. The cats don't have any room to get to know their future owner, nor will they behave calmly when they're fighting for the spotlight. As for visitors, they'll feel more inclined to rescue the cats out of pity more than genuine connection. I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here, but then again, I almost wish you do come to decrease the population inside the shelter. I advise those who run Pawsitively Cats to work on expanding their business; a huge reconstruction of the place so there's more room for cats to live comfortably side-by-side. I am aware that there may be financial concerns involving this, so in that case, I'd suggest relocating these cats somewhere that can better cater to their needs. I'd rather that than have those innocent fur babies trapped in a dark and bleak shelter any longer. I understand that this shelter was built out of love for animals, I truly do, but for the sake of their wellbeing, Pawsitively Cats must improve. If not, people will not be inclined to help out, and the cats will be in no state to become someone's lifelong friend.

She's scared of dogs, cars, trucks, mud, etc. She has zero knowledge on leg commands and does not know how to move her rear. Anytime someone puts leg pressure she begins to act out by throwing her head. If you use your boot heels lightly or have light spurs on and gently use them to get her attention, she rears and kicks. In thick brush of a creek bed she began to buck and kick about 6 feet into the air because of the brush hitting her (at least that's what I think happened because there wasn't any other issue I could see). She bucked and kicked quite a ways and rubbed me against a tree where I lost a stirrup and went down. I'm a widow who lost my husband in January. I have two teenage boys who are terrified of being orphaned. My son now has ptsd from seeing her come out of the thicket kicking about 6 feet into the air (his words) without me and having to run to find me thinking I was gone too. They knew my story and sold me a green inappropriately handled mare anyway. I gave them a chance to make the situation right but all they offered was to bring her back on my dime and get no refund. When I declined because my boys were attached to her already (this was before she went rodeo on me) I asked about a second at a discount price. That way I wouldn't feel taken advantage of with what I paid. Thus far they've declined. This doesn't even cover the fact that there's a good chance she has cushings because she's lactating NOR the fact that I asked for a vet health check and all they did was a coggins test and lied about getting a vet health clearance. So I have one mare I'm going to have to spend a lot of money on testing her for hormone issues, plus have to spend months for a professional trainer. I purchased my second from another place in hopes of more honesty and professionalism. I do not recommend.
