Minor but numerous cracks had appeared on the interior drywall over the past few years and there was no drainage away from the foundation. My initial request was for an inspection of the crawlspace foundation and foundation waterproofing. Original workscope was just for french drains for each downspout and waterproofing on one section of the foundation, with the costly option of helical piers where the foundation had sunk. As they excavated the problem section, it was found that the footing under the foundation was non-existent (house is from the '40s), so I had to spring for the helical pier system as the problem would only get worse. I may have been very lucky with the scheduling, materials and logistics, resulting in some savings as things unfolded very quickly. I had a crack in my slab foundation that was leading to several problems. Although it wasn't a serious structural issue, it was very discouraging to remodel a bathroom and then have cracked tiles a year later, or to watch large cracks in my walls and ceiling grow over the years. I had put off any further renovations because I was so discouraged and took forever to actually bite the bullet on foundation repair because so many foundation companies are out to charge insane amount of money selling unnecessary and expensive solutions. Per the California mandate, we wanted to earthquake retrofit tie down our 1924 home to its foundation. Daniel was the representative who came out and did the initial inspection, job description, secured the city permit and supervised his crew. We felt he was honest and effective in communicating what he found under our house. He took pictures and explained what was needed. I had done my own research so what he was saying concurred. We have a small crawl space under our house but, we have a small stand in cellar that made it easier for them to get under there. The crew managed. I could hear them move around the house under the floor. Except for the tool noises, there was no other noise disturbances while working. We also had done our home next door that was built at the same time but did not have an easy access. Daniel and his crew had to wiggle through a small opening beside the gas meter pipes. They worked out a system to get the job done. When the city inspector came, he was not willing to squeeze through the hole so Daniel went under and took pictures for him. There were foundation cracks that had to be appropriately patched along with the tie down. Everything passed. The paperwork was easy to understand and the office gave good support. My only complaint was that the crew took their lunch brake on my patio instead of at their trucks. Thus when we were having lunch in the kitchen near by, we had an extra conversation going on and a speaker phone call in another language. I asked them to please turn the speaker phone off and they did. My husband says this was no big deal but, it did bother me. I am totally giving the company 5 stars. Good all around. After purchasing our house in 2016 my wife bc and I noticed our shagging toward the west side of the house. I called four different foundation companies for estimates. After meeting with a representative from all four, Nisan was the guy we decided to go with. Mind you this was a stressful situation for us.
