I have a fear of the dentist like most people and I recently broke a tooth so I came in today before it got to bad and they were able to save the tooth and crown it which was amazing! The level of professionalism and excellent customer service have been outstanding and I highly recommend Mason Dental. They also have the latest technology and are able to make crowns onsite which means you can get it done all in a few hours. Remember the hardest part is getting in the chair, once you are here at Mason Dental they will take care of the rest!

I was told that insurance would be verified and that they would submit everything for a coverage estimate prior to treatment. After my exam and X-rays, I was informed that I had periodontal disease and would need scaling and root planing. I was also told I had approximately nine cavities and was strongly encouraged to proceed with laser treatment that was not covered by insurance. At no point did I feel I was given clear, conservative options or a breakdown of urgency versus elective procedures. The initial visit resulted in a $200 charge, and I was quoted approximately $800 for the recommended deep cleaning. Because the diagnosis felt significant, I sought a second opinion as I've never had periodontal issues and receive regular cleanings (I worked in the dental industry for years). At another dental office, I was told that I do not have periodontal disease and do not need scaling and root planning cleanings. Their review of my X-rays showed no signs supporting that diagnosis, aside from two isolated pockets near areas where my wisdom teeth had previously been extracted. Then was informed I have two areas on my molars that needed very small fillings on the occlusal areas. They were shocked my Mason Dentals treatment plan! Based on this second opinion, I'm concerned about the difference in diagnoses and the treatment plan I was given. I would recommend getting a second opinion before proceeding with Mason Dental.

Here's a synopsis of my visit:…read more My typical location was near my house in Richardson. They apparently shut it down and changed it to a surgery only facility. Luckily, for me, I work near another location. My appointment was expected to begin at 1 on the dot. I'm very picky. When I choose a time, I expect them to be running on time and to see me at my designated dental time. My compliments -- The lobby is bigger and has a bigger waiting space. I didn't see any of the healthy snacks out but perhaps it is due to COVID-19 and to keep up with the government regulations set in force to keep the contamination down. They are not polishing teeth due to CDC guidelines. That's fine, they will send you home with the polishing and explain exactly how to use it. The goodie bags they give you are now reusable which I like. My dental hygienist cleaned my teeth very well and was very detailed oriented. Because of the virus, the CDC no longer allows them to polish your teeth at the visit. Instead, they will send you home with the polish instead to do at home. No big deal' Complaints -- I checked in and the woman was going to have me fill out the new patient enrollment forms again. I'm thinking in my head -- "I am not a new client and the call center that I did call should have conveyed this." Filling out the paperwork can be time consuming but I am glad they were able to transfer my records over. I'll keep visiting as long as the service remains detailed orientation.

The office video of a young woman biting into an apple - don't trust it and don't do it. That phone call from Dr Vickers - mine came at 10pm, maybe later, the night of my surgery. Dr left a message asking how I was doing. Ha! I was not a bit coherent and totally asleep. I doubt I saw the Dr more than 5 minutes total from beginning to the time the office released me - 5 weeks earlier than originally told. Instead of a video about the longevity of an implant, effort could be better spent on after care such as: what kind of problems to be aware of, what to watch for, etc. I thought I was the patient. Instead I had to be a detective trying to decide if post surgical issues were normal, realizing I was charged for services not given, asking for a refund, trying to get a surgical report that might have helped me understand what the surgeon did or didn't do, why I was having problems recovering from the surgery, etc. No questions were adequately addressed on follow-up visits. The surgical report was unreadable and worthless. I get a better report after a flu shot than what this surgical report offered - a bunch of incoherent scribbling. The office has some good employees - use them to transcribe a surgery report. Courtney was a wonderful, helpful tech. Her abilities are impressive. However, on my last visit when the final bridge was going to be measured, Courtney had the day off and a new employee was working with me. Was this a coincidence or calculated? I'll never know, but I am suspicious. The office literature says it is not a corporation. Oh yes it is. The office system works like a big corporation where the process seems to be calculated by an analyst who offers advice on how to grow the business, make more money and work less hours. I'm not making this up. Search the Internet. Honestly, I don't think this Surgeon would like this kind of patient care for his family members.

We just called to the office but the doctor's assistant is such a shameless liar! My surgery for 1 tooth extraction was on Friday, they charged me more than I should have, charged me extra for deep sleeping anesthesia. The surgery lasted about 30 minutes. At 9:04 am I went into the surgery room with the doctor's assistant (there was a monitor with the time right in front of me). I waited for the doctor until 9:30 am (when dr.Shillingburg came in, I looked at the time on the monitor again). A few minutes later I got an injection from deep sleep . They called to my husband at 10:01am so he could pick me up! I'm 100% sure surgery was about 30 minutes, maybe even less!! But the doctor's assistant lied so much that the surgery lasted 47 minutes! REALLY??? And she said the surgery started at 8:52am! What a shame! Omg ! Check your cameras before lying to a patient who trusted you! At 8:52am, I was still standing at the checkout, sorting out the bill you gave me and trying to add $3,000 for an additional service I didn't need, in addition to $3,313 for one tooth extraction! I asked for it to be removed because the bill was already huge! It was about 6.000$ ! CRAZY ! They are the most expensive in this area, but they turned out to be such scammers! I'm shocked!

(the picture of the road was a day later, shows the amount of blood i was losing and that's after only 5 minutes of me being in that spot). dr heroon showed up at the hospital when my dad called and she came in to cauterize it then proceeded to lie about me bleeding in the office and said "he must have taken the stint out in the car and messed with the stitches". throughout the whole process i had 3 more arteries randomly burst, the doctor continued to lie and blame me for her botched surgery, and management showed no care or concern for what i went through. dr heroon also had her contract end which left nobody in the office that was qualified to do the work i paid for. i was abandoned as a patient. my stint broke and the management refused to make me a new one so now my teeth need braces again due to how much they moved. i also requested the work i paid for that hadn't been done to be taken off the loan and the manager said she would take it off but didn't until 2 or 3 months later when i called and found out she didn't do it. i also had permanent stitches holding the artery closed which were in for over a month causing me pain and the manager refused to get me in to have them cut out so i was forced to cut them out myself at home. i paid 6k in work and got screwed and put in the hospital. DO NOT GO HERE, if you do decide to chose this place for dental work i suggest you find a good lawyer.
