Some places are just easy to settle into, and Fountain Square Brew Co. is one of them. A friend and I stopped in for a couple of craft beers after wandering Fountain Square, and before long we had claimed the dartboard (I lost...badly ), admired the local artwork, and soaked in the laid-back, industrial vibe. One of my favorite parts? They're dog-friendly. My friend's tiny sidekick was perfectly content with her own cup of water while we hung out, and she received plenty of smiles from everyone who walked by. The brewery has a real community feel. Local art covers the walls, live music is a regular thing, and even the bathroom chalkboard became part of the experience. Of course I couldn't resist leaving a message of my own. Good beer, good company, a few laughs, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer. I'd happily spend another afternoon here. read more

I enjoy our weekly stop at one of our favorite Indy breweries! Great ice cold beer on tap with a friendly staff and patrons that makes this a fun place to hang out and socialize or just relax. They have karaoke, comedy night and live bands. This is definitely needs to be a must stop on your list for a night out! read more

Wonderful brewery in Fountain Square. It's off the beaten path but well worth the trip. It is a bit quieter than other breweries, which is what we like. The bartender is friendly and very knowledgeable on the beers. His description of a beer is right on target. He explained a couple then gave us a sample. He nailed it every time. He wanted to make sure we got something we liked and would enjoy. We had a great time talking to him. The brewery is dog friendly. It also has a loyal base of regular customers. read more

Over the years Fountain Square Brewery keeps getting even better! Recently was flying Southwest and the brewery had a shot out as a place to visit! You can bring in food and enjoy the delicious variety of brews! Cozy couches, tons of games and now even some pinball machines! My husband and his buddy of over 20 years were a force to be reckoned with on the foosball table last visit a little over a week ago! Staff are always fabulous and can help recommend a brew if you aren't able to put your finger on that craving you're having. Parking throughout FS can get hairy but the new garage nearby helps a ton! Don't be a dummy and park at Goodwill or in other business lots where you can get towed. Better yet, use an Uber, Lyft, Bicycle, or your own two feet to bring you to Fountain Square. The area is a blast to explore and you can start and end with a fabulous brewery! read more

Full disclosure, I haven't had a chance to visit yet, but am loving that they have some of their selections in cans at Market District in Carmel so we can still support local breweries during the pandemic. I picked up a 6 pack of Soul Ride IPA which is excellent. I'm looking forward to visiting in person after Covid is under better control, but wanted to give a shout out now, and hope they can continue to hang in there over the next months. read more

I enjoyed the atmosphere, the foosball table and darts were a perk, the artwork, and the fact that it's a dog friendly establishment. I also felt the service was very good and everyone was friendly. I couldn't find a beer I really liked, but settled on the Hefeweizen and it was okay. Overall, I'll likely be back because the location and ability to bring my dog a long are major perks. read more

This was actually my second time at this brewery, but I've enjoyed the beer and the ambiance. Due to COVID-19, the inside seating was closed and they only had outside patio seating. The woman who took our order and payment was sanitizing everything like crazy, which Is understandable, but was a little bit out of control in my opinion. The clipboards where we had our receipts to sign on were still wet from the sanitizer. Regardless, it was a beautiful day and sitting out on the patio drinking a beer was very relaxing and enjoyable. Fountain square brewery always has a great selection of beer and their puppy kisses beer is one of the favorites. When it was open to the public before the pandemic hit, the brewery was pet friendly and had many dogs all over the place which was nice because the majority of the dogs were very friendly. The staff is very friendly and the service is great, so all in all, this is a great place to go hang out with friends and have a beer. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting from out of town or looking to go have a beer with friends. read more

Place is great for local beers. Also super dog friendly. Personally enjoy the selection of beers. There is one however that I believe was brewed in a rum barrel and is too STRONG for my liking. Thankfully beer comes in many varieties and you have to have an acquired taste for what you are drinking. Also you can bring outside food in. I loved this brewery the minute I stepped in. There's all kinds of games (pinball, darts, board games), fantastic beer and friendly service-what more could you ask for. The art on the walls is fantastic and it's got a super chill vibe. Dogs were allowed in and their garage door was open as it was a sunny day. My fiancé and I got two different style ipas and they were both yummy. It's a beautiful destination for a bike ride to fountain square if you live in surrounding areas. We'll be back soon. read more

Neat microbrewery in an up-and-coming part of town. Used to be an automobile service center. This is a huge plus for those of us who ride bicycles as they open one of the service bay doors and allow you to park your bike inside. It is also dog-friendly. The beers are all pretty good, but produced in fairly small quantities (other than the house beers). The seasonals change frequently so be sure to get a tasting flight before filling your growler. read more

When I have my beer-loving friends come to Indy, I want to take them on an inexpensive brewery tour. Cue in Fountain Square's Tap Room. Our $5 intimate afternoon tour began with a free beer. We then headed into the Brewing Room for the proper tour, which was given by the Assistant Brewmaster (I hope that was the correct title). Most tours I've been on are given by one of the bartenders, so I was impressed that we got to talk to someone who's "in the trenches" everyday. Having an intimate tour allowed for a lot of questions and in turn a lot of new knowledge about the industry. When the tour wrapped up, we received a Fountain Square Brewing pint glass and hung out for an extra hour drinking a flight. This is something I will definitely do again with out-of-town guests. SIDENOTE: Recently I was looking to buy a growler of a stout or porter in hopes I could get it from one of the newer breweries in downtown Indy that I haven't tried yet. I stopped in at the brewery after sampling some of their beers in bottles or on draft elsewhere. So, after parking in their lot on the south side of their building, I opted to sit at the bar so that I could get a good view of the beer options mounted on the wall. The bartender was friendly and explained that they had options for flights. I went with one that featured five standard house beers and because they were out of the sixth (Hefeweizen), I was able to substitute from the seasonal side of beers as my sixth. The flights serve 3 oz glasses for $7.50 for all six. I was pleased with the flavor on all the beers. I remember trying some of them in bottles I bought at a store when I was first starting to drink craft beers. I am so glad I gave those a second chance to redeem themselves. They really did. I think the standout for me was the stout which had a deep flavor that was somewhere between a coffee and a chocolate taste (at least to me.) The IPA was also good without being so hopped up that the bitterness was overwhelming. Good beers, friendly staff, and lots of games/art to look at. They also have outdoor seating that is covered by the overhanging roof. There also appears to be a stage on the west end of the parking lot for entertainment. Review #1010 read more

Way less packed then one would expect. When one wonders off the beaten path in Fountain Square, this brewery is worth checking out at least once. Helpful bartenders can point you towards your drink of choice or the new seasonal to check out. Low key joint that's great for catching up with friends. They have a deal with a local restaurant for food, plus darts and pinball. read more

beer was flat, took 20 minute atleast to get just a warm beer. the bartender acted as if I was inconveniencing them by taking my order. I asked to speak to a manager and was blown off. I work in the area and just wanted to relax and I ended up feeling like I had to fight for what I was paying for. read more

Love their beer. It finally brought me in when I nearby. This sums up exactly what you expect a Fountain Square Brewery to look like. That's all praise by the way. The vibe is that the people built this place. It's not done "well", it's hands-on, off-center, a little dirty, and all the way original. It's a great place to chill and listen to some good music. I'm pretty they were playing Spotify free, which to me is peak FS. I wouldn't be surprised if they tapped into a nearby bars account and just played that. I'm really digging the scene. The beers are great and local. The took on New Day, so for the Mead lovers, this is the place to go! The addition of Mead for New Day will bring back for sure! They also allow dogs. The floor is just concrete so nothing to worry about. They also have lots of games you can play with friends. The staff was super chill and kind. read more

This is quickly becoming my favorite brewery. Beer production wise, it's in the top 2 of the city. Awesome branding and art work, plenty of space in the tap room for lounging, having beer themed work meetings, or just sitting in the bar area chatting with the awesome staff. The best beer in town. I wish it was cheaper, but prices are generally higher for the local breweries. The servers were friendly and beautiful. All of their beer is solid, but my favorite is the Preacher's Daughter amber, although I feel dirty asking for it. ("I'd like a Preacher's Daughter. Wait...where are you going?") Sometimes they have a box of Nameless Pizza Co. at the bar and you can buy pizza by the slice. You can also order a pizza from Nameless and they will deliver it to the brewery. If you're hungry and don't feel like pizza, B's Po Boy, which is excellent, is across the street. The brewery can be difficult to find the first time. It is tucked away behind some new condos and it is next to a grocery store. Occasionally, you see some strange-looking people walking by the grocery store that look strung out. I love beer. I love the local breweries. There is something special about this place. Well, several special things. The beer; while I can name several favorites from most local breweries... I have loved about everything produced here. Whenever I fill growlers, its always multiple blends. Speaking of growlers... $5 fills on Sundays for house brews ($9 special) is a great deal. This is my church on Sundays. Its also a great place to go have a beer, chat with the local folk, and actually be able to hear yourself and any guests think and converse without giving it the ol "Hulk Hogan hand to the ear" to attempt to draw in voices over some loud terrible music. We've always sat inside because the Indiana weather has always been inclement, but during this particular visit, we stepped out the side door to discover picnic tables and an outdoor stage. I've heard from so many friends that FQB is a huge supporter of the local music scene, and I guess I just figured they had bands play in the front parking lot or something. Not really sure why people like this place. I end up going here because a group of friends I hang out with want to meet here. But if you're not into cider or mead or beer, you're out of luck. If you like eating, you're really out of luck. I gave some beers and mead and ciders all a chance and they seemed really mediocre. Things got super weird during Covid and it seemed like it got more and more complicated to order. One time a bartender refused to close doors to the inside because of Covid but it was November so it was very, very cold. We were one table of three people in the whole place but still the doors remained open. I just sat and shivered till we moved on to someplace warmer. Bottom line? One would think with the number of breweries that have opened in Indianapolis that it wouldn't be too hard to find a place for a growler refill at 6:30 pm on a random Tuesday evening. You would be incorrect though... much as I was when my path led me to Fountain Square Brewing. I've had their beer out and about before, so when I heard they were one of the few places open, I decided I'd give them a try. Wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was a nice place. When I arrived, there were people sitting around on the couches and the bar was pretty busy without too many people working. I only had to wait a minute or two and the bartender came over and filled my Sun King bullet up (without giving me a hard time for bringing a container from another brewery) nice and fast. I was on my way in just a few minutes. The atmosphere was fairly laid back. No live music, no BBQ, and no huge crowds. I guess that's more of a First Friday thing. read more

All 3 of us had the beer flight in order to get an idea of which beers we liked. I loved the Porter - bold flavour, almost like a dark roast coffee. The Pilsnar and Pale were enjoyed by my companions. The others beers not so much. The Saison and IPA were too "jumpy" in that they had a very strong fizzy aftertaste, and the Amber was pretty bland. The atmosphere is very chill. They have bar tables and stools, as well as large couches and tables. They also have a water dispenser which I appreciated. The service was very friendly. They display and sell local artwork which I think is cool. There is also a large clear wall/door in which you can see the actually beer brewing space. Overall, it seems like a great place to have a beer and hang out. Just make sure you know which beers you like! read more

Awesome place to chill for a beer with friends after work! The beer is fantastic and they have many options for hop heads and those of us who like to keep our faces in tact when we drink a beer. It's a huge space with a few tables and a few couches. The Dunkel is bright, smooth, and complex with just a little bit of hop flavor. The Porter was surprisingly smooth and didn't have a finish like you had just taken a big mouthful of dirt. It's a little hard to find and you have to walk around to the front of the building to get in the door, but it's worth the scavenger hunt. Highly recommended! read more

I'm lovin it! Mrs. F had a girls night at Pure Eatery. And I couldn't find any friends in the area to join me so I had myself a little tasting Party at Fountain Square Brewing. The tasting flight was fantastic. The service was great for how busy they were. There seemed to be a large either work party or family party or something that took up all the seating. That was the only downside. More seating please :) So I found myself a comfy little place in the corner on the concrete floor. I didn't mind though I had fun yelping on my phone sipping some great suds. I really liked there porter. read more
