We stumbled upon this place while in San Antonio and we were glad that we stuck to the path. This restaurant is a little hard to find, but it's in the Omni hotel and the staff are kind to guide you. We were met by Josh in the bar who was great. Not only did he have great recommendations and insight on whiskey, he had great food recs too. They unfortunately ran out of Fritos, but they sent someone across the street for more. The customer service was over the top. read more

A dismal Thanksgiving dining experience to say the least. This was our second time dining there for Thanksgiving. It used to be great but what a difference a year makes... My mother and I ordered the Thanksgiving special at $80. A premium i expect to pay for dining on the holidays. The turkey, however, came out cold and old. The two anemic slices I was served were shriveled and dry as though they had been sliced hours before and sat in a hotel pan in the warmer for 2 hours before hitting my plate. I immediately asked for a replacement, and after several minutes, one of the floor managers brought back the exact same plate with the same turkey jerky. While the plate itself was hotter thanks to Chef Mic, the turkey was still cold and all the more dry. I found it insulting that the "chef" couldn't be bothered to make new plates for us. I told the manager that I wouldn't accept that food and that she could bring us their standard menu if the chef couldn't execute the special that he'd planned and set for the day. My mom got a pretty crummy avocado toast (I'd be surprised if there was a tablespoon of actual avocado on the entire dish) and I got some steak, egg, and potato dish that my dad had ordered. The potatoes were cold, and the steak was fine, but not what we had in mind at all. We each ate individually and the entire experience took more than two hours. My mom and I left hungry. We picked up plates from Cracker Barrel on the way home. It was faster, and even prepackaged and after 20 minutes in transit it was hotter and more moist than the turkey I was served at Four Brothers. The chef needs to take a good long look at his life and maybe think about whether it's time for a career change... he clearly doesn't care about his customers. And nor does the service staff: As soon as the first plate was sent back, our server became a ghost. No offers for drink refills. No check-ins. No apologies. Terrible service. The managers were inept as well, showing no comprehension of how to handle the situation. They offered to comp the bill after the meal had gone completely off the deep end, but they offered no suggestions for how they could salvage the experience. They didn't offer an extra drink, or a dessert, or simply to go back to the kitchen to ensure that they put a fresh slice of turkey on the plate. We had ordered desserts at the beginning of the meal. Why wouldn't the manager have looked at the ticket and offered to provide those at the least? They may serve southern "provisions" but there is no southern hospitality to speak of in this place. They refused to let my dad order an item from the Thanksgiving menu al a carte because the server said the chef was "picky about that stuff" if only the chef was picky about food quality! They constantly left the door propped open as they ran outside despite the fact that they had guests seated by the door on a cold day. I had to get up multiple times to close the door for the wait staff. Any one of those things by itself is forgivable but when they pile together they make for a horrible dining experience. Returning to our lodging at the OMNI after a full day of delightful activity in San Antonio, we found ourselves physically spent, but parched and famished. Not expecting much, we chose a short elevator descent and a few steps to the Four Brothers hotel restaurant. Loved the chillaxing ambiance, full bodied house wine, and the burger. THE BURGER, (sis and I agreed) was the most epic and flavorful, elevating the most simplistic fare to a new level. Don't bother with the sauces; it is the quality of beef and chosen seasonings that perfect. C'mon, what meat eating citizen of the states hasn't sampled a zillion burgers?! I went to this restaurant one afternoon when I arrived in San Antonio for a work trip. Their mimosas are quite lovely. The shrimp and grits was descent, though it likely requires more acidity to truly be a really great bowl of food. Given that it was $40, I would have expected it to be a bit better. However, the service was a bit spotty. When I arrived, I was asked for a last name for the table, which seemed odd since I wasn't going to need to wait since the restaurant was nearly empty. My waiter also wasn't really very familiar with the menu and then left me for a long time after giving me my food without coming back to check on me. It had been so long since I finished eating that I had to get up and go look for someone to give me my bill-- and I am quite a slow eater. It took them 5-10 minutes after they told me someone would come with my bill for me to be able to pay and then leave. The thing I will say is that the staff is quite lovely and kind and you could easily have a cordial conversation with any of them. The ambiance is quite lovely as well since when you sit outside, you sit right on the river. All in all, with a few minor tweaks, this would have been an exceptional experience. read more

Went in for a business breakfast and was blown away. The ambiance is beautiful, with gorgeous views of the Riverwalk. Filiberto, our server, gave great food suggestions and his service was excellent. He even asked if we wanted any to-go drinks! Mr. Parker, the food and beverage director, happened to stop by and he suggested that we checked out their Día de los Muertos pop-up, which was breathtaking. It's amazing how slow this place is maybe because if you blink on river walk you will miss it. I had the burger and it was one of the best burgers I have had anywhere. They have a "high class" version of what kind of reminds me of the Big Mac and what it should be if it wasn't fast food. The bbq fry's are fire as well. My wife had the chicken sandwich and it was amazing as well but beside the burger nothing compares in my opinion. I am coming back just got another burger and I will add bacon next time that will push it over the top. Very well balanced and flavorful. Highly recommended for the whiskey men. Ordered the Texas Burger and Wine ($26). Asked for medium and it was perfectly medium all the way through which was impressive. Most just settle for the medium center but it's always overdone on the outside. The burger is probably a 1/2 lb. More filling than expected with the toppings included. Also asked for no pickle and that was remembered +1! BBQ seasoned fries were not overpowering in saltiness. Good taste over basic fries. I would've preferred a little more well done fries, which would be good to mention if you like them crunchier. Finished up with a lemon meyer crème brûlée ($12). Nice crispy top. Fresh berries. Not too rich. Very good finish. Service wise Josue the bartender was taking care of my table. He was polite and professional. Came by to check up often and had a quick turnaround on food and drinks. My fiance and I walked the river walk looking for a good brunch spot on our last day in San Antonio last weekend. We stumbled across this restaurant and I am so happy we did. The atmosphere and the vibes of this restaurant are relaxing yet elegant. The dim lighting brings in that romantic sense perfect for a brunch date :). Our server was John T. jr. and he was so welcoming and funny! He gave some great recommendations for the food and his hospitality was ON POINT. GIVE THAT MAN A RAISE! Now the food smelt so amazing as he brought it out. I really ate with my eyes first, the plating was generous (as everywhere in Texas) but it does cost a pretty penny, but all in all it was absolutely worth it. The chimichurri sauce was one of the best I have ever had. My fiance had the cowboy breakfast and I had the brisket Benedict. Eggs were poached perfectly, the biscuits were fresh and the chipotle hollandaise had a nice balance that complimented the eggs and brisket. The cowboy breakfast was THE BEST. the steak a perfect medium rare and the potatoes! Omg so great. Lastly we had a sweet tooth and ordered the stuffed concha with the berries and the dulce de leche cream. It was really good! However I noticed the caramel drizzle around the plate was burnt, I let John know about my issue and he was such a good sport about it. I understand these things happen in a restaurant and I commend the chef Angel, John, staff and the back of the house for how they took care of it after bringing up the concern rather than saying oh well. They packed me a new concha w fresh caramel sauce DECONSTRUCTED which was very smart otherwise it would have gotten soggy! I just happened to be in San Antonio during restaurant week! I tried to visit as many restaurants participating and one of our stops was four brothers. It was a really great experience. I still have one friend who keeps talking about one of the dishes. I don't know if they have this on their regular menu but we started with a wagyu tartar and it was fantastic. Shoutout to Isaiah, our waiter. His energy kept our dinner fun and excited for the next dishes. The only thing I was disappointed with (but still demolished) was the toffee dessert at the end. It was just a bit over baked. Either way, I am def going to stop by this restaurant again when I'm in San Antonio again later this year. Highly recommend. read more

PSA: before you assume, try this crazy method called asking. Arrived for dinner around 8 ish, after walking the downtown area. Our server, Nader, was very attentive and friendly. He kept our waters filled and checked up on us throughout our meal. My husband and I shared the Texas shaped jalapeño cornbread. I've got to say this is why I wanted to try this place. Cornbread was good-is wasn't as sweet as your usual cornbreads at BBQ restaurants. Next we ordered the tomahawk steak (medium) which came with baby potatoes, asparagus, onion, mushrooms, and peppers. Very tasty and hardy! Perfect for 2 people plus some leftovers. Everything would've been great except to the employee who brought our food (didn't get a name). Comes to the table and greets us in Chinese (neither of us are Chinese). I was so thrown off, I didn't know how to respond. At the end of our dinner, I had to confirm with my husband if he heard the same thing. This is probably my first restaurant that I've ever experienced this type of assumption. The sister had the branzino and she said was good and I tried the risotto it was over and was cooked perfectly. Located inside the Omni la mansion and if you have smaller group you could sit on the balcony. We had a nice booth and our server was very nice. Talk about a gem on the river walk! Everything from the decor to the service, to the food, was amazing! We were about to get a table outside almost immediately on a Saturday for lunch. We started with the bbq Brussel sprouts as an appetizer. I've never had Brussel sprouts like this and I don't want them any other way. They were the best I've EVER had! For our entree's I ordered the pork ribs, confit potatoes, and black garlic broccolini. My fiancé ordered the branzino with risotto and the broccolini. I tried everything and I have no complaints. I had the shrimp and grits, thinking I was sorta in the south and nearish the coast. The shrimp was fishy and flavorless and the vegetables underneath were not cooked. My colleague had the Pozole, which was surprisingly flavorless. The churros for dessert were good and surprisingly light. Loved bus boys promptly refilled water and took away dishes. I would say food was pretty good but missing "wow" factors so I couldn't give 4 stars. Wide ordered brisket sandwich and parm fries. I got the Berger and bbq fries. Went to order a beer. Asked for draft menu. Waitress said "we have four, they are all like ipas or something". Why isn't everyone talking about this place?! I went because my customer recommended this place, so I finally made it there. It's in Downtown San Antonio, inside Omni La Mansion del Rio. They have valet and there are about 3 parking lots close by. So no worries about where to park. Let me start with the restaurant itself, it's classy, elegant with a home-cozy look, just beautiful. The best part? The view to the Riverwalk! And I am not a fan of walking the Riverwalk, but I loved the view, with all the Christmas lights hanging from the trees. Our server, Sabrina was phenomenal! Every single recommendation she did was an absolute hit. Let me start with the star of the night, "Bexar Cornbread " I fell in love! I do not like cornbread, it's always dry and salty, but not this one, no, it's moist, perfectly combination of salty and sweet, with a generous amount on cheese, and the best part.....it's Texas shape! Yes! Oh and is huge, good for 6 people! They bring a side of butter, pimento cheese and honey, honestly, I will go back just to eat this. Let's move to another appetizer and a salad I ordered; the Hamachi Tostada and the Baby Beet Salad, bot very light, fresh and with a unique combination of ingredients. The Baby Beet Salad has candied pecans, yum! For main course I got "Big Gulf Camarones", this was such a wonderful dish! It comes with 5 jumbo shrimps, layered on a bed of purple cauliflower pure and a very interesting mix of cherry tomatoes and vegetables, I LOVED this plate! Every single bite was an explosion of different flavors in my mouth, every bite was an like an adventure, I didn't know what I was gonna get, it was so unique, experiencing different and so distinctive flavors every bite from the same plate. No dessert, so I can't give you my opinion about that, but based on everything else, I am sure desserts are amazing too! Dinner and a show date night! We partook in Culinaria's Winter Restaurant Weeks. For $55 we had a starter, entree and a dessert. This restaurant is inside the Omni La Mansion del Rio Hotel and used to be Las Canarias. We haven't been since the change over and man, let me tell you upfront; the meal was FANTASTIC! We made a reservation on open table and were greeted warmly upon arrival/check-in. We were seated immediately and our server Isiah took very good care of us. Tina the show was playing at the Majestic so there were several other patrons dining there and headed to the theater after their meal as well. The Culinaria Restaurant Week menu consisted of a selection from their "Groundwork" aka appetizer, "Foundations" aka entree and "Patisserie" aka dessert. I started with the baby beets salad. It consisted of roasted beets, goat cheese, spicy Texas pecans, organic greens and vinaigrette. The salad arrived with three generous helpings of strategically placed goat cheese dollops. It was colorful and pretty and the pecans were the perfect touch of heat. The hubs started with the San Antonio "chili queens" chili. Description said American waygu beef, aged cheddar, scallion and crema. He said it was very good with the exception of two things. 1. Definitely not hot enough (temperature). At best it was luke warm. 2. Waygu beef? Tasted more like ground beef. Definitely the consistency of ground beef but then again maybe it was ground waygu beef? Either way it wasn't lush and buttery in your mouth the way waygu beef normally is. Our entrees consisted of the Branzino (me) and the Short Rib Tagliatelle (hubs). OMG the branzino (European sea bass) was THE best and tastiest fish I've ever experienced. Super crispy crunchy outside and tender white flakey fish on the inside. The risotto was the most unique I've had. It was crunchy as it had nuts but was tasty and I was nearly convinced it had citrus segments in it. My plate did have citrus pieces on the perimeter of the plate though. Then I thought maybe it was chunks of pineapple? I was told it was risotto, nuts and cheese. It was tasty! Hubs' short rib was tender, tasty and HOT (temperature) so he was pleased. Our dessert choices were one of each; the sticky toffee pudding and the chocolate addiction. The chocolate addiction was the perfect pairing of passion fruit sorbet which cut the sweetness of the chocolate. The brownie crunch base was tasty. The only thing lacking (as it said it on the description) was the fleur de sal. A little salt would have really made it! Hubs enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding which is funny because it isn't pudding in the traditional American sense but a moist sponge cake covered in toffee sauce. Staff was great, sat me right away, we're super friendly even recommending items from the menu that they saw me indecisively scanning! I ordered a chicken Caesar which was a little Spendy for a salad but it was delicious. Also had a coffee and loved the drink wear they use for water and coffee mugs. Interior is almost rustic but modern at the same time overlooking the riverfront, a gorgeous setting. Outstanding food, service, and location. I wasn't expecting much given that it's a hotel restaurant right on the riverwalk, but every step of the way my expectations were exceeded. In fact, by the end of our weekend in SAT, my husband and I wished we had stayed here instead of another high-end hotel further up the river. The bar itself had a fantastic menu and great wine selection. It was riverwalk pricing but everything was top notch. My last-word cocktail with mezcal was oustanding and the beer selection was appropriately local. The wine selection was also highly curated and offered a great pairing with the menu. Our servers, and the hostess were all pleasant, helpful, and attentive. In terms of the food...wow. The burger and the ribeye steak were truly standout. The rib eye with the compound butter was tender, flavorful, and dreamy. The giant burger (1/2 lb!) was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and accompanied. The fries were even delicious!
