I took my dog there for the first time and was quite reluctant leaving him for a week. however, the staff was amazing and they were reassuring me with my concerns especially being an older dog and when I picked him up, one of the workers was telling me about his experience with her and how she would miss his buddy and it made me feel so at ease and I love the personal stories. So much different than places that charge extra for human interaction and extra dog play time and the price is better! definitely recommend and my dog will be there on our next vacation! read more

English Mastiff boarded for 4 nights. when I picked him up, they brought me his things. They had not given him his anxiety towel as I re quested, and his bed was soaking wet. was his bed wet the whole 4 days? poor guy. and no towel to gnaw on. they told me he must have spilled his water on it. I guess they had 30 bowls of water in with him. the bed is ruined. I did not opt for a bath before pick up, and he smelled so bad it gagged us driving home. after his bath at home, he still has that horrible odor on him. Unlike the other reviews here, the staff was polite when I scheduled him and dropped him off, but at pick up they were dismissive of my concerns. now I've found he has a spot on his tale that looks like he was rubbing against something for 4 days. read more

The general manager, Bobbie, was extremely rude to me, via email, so unfortunately I didn't choose to utilize further services. The sad thing is that she couldn't stop emailing me and even when I pointed it out to her-she refused to apologize. Poor communication skills and management practices, and terrible customer service. I have been taking my dogs for years. I love my four paws family. Bobbie , Rob, Jesse , Anthony, Jordan and Glenda are all awesome. They definitely have your pets safety in your best interest. As far as recent comments I don't know who those people are but I have never heard any inappropriate comment come out of anyone that works there mouth. Been taking my dog here for a while, save for a few months' hiatus after moving to Mt Healthy, and she loves it every time she goes! They take incredible care of the animals, and have very reasonable pricing. Staff even remembered my dog when I dropped her off while I went on vacation for a week, and they hadn't seen her since March. Was also very happy to see they trimmed her nails, even though I didn't ask them to (the pup really needed it). I've got a happy, tired pup lying next to me, and I'm sure she'd rate it 5 stars. read more

Four Paws is terrific. I've been taking my dog here for over a month now and couldn't be happier. The doggy daycare program is great. I drop my dog off on the way to work and he plays with other dogs all day. He's been getting socialized and now behaves much better around other dogs and people. The overnight boarding can be rolled in with the doggy day care so you can keep your dog there for an entire day and night for a very reasonable price. They've now got two groomers and can do bath and trimming services. I occasionally have a bath added on to the doggy day care package and pick up my dog looking clean and exhausted. The staff is terrific and you can tell they all really love to be around these dogs all day. They're know each one by name on their way in the door and are familiar with all of their temperaments. The facilities let the big dogs play together all day either indoor or outside. It's a lot of fun to walk in and see 10+ dogs all huddled around a staff member playing with each other and getting excited. The biggest downside is that now my dog doesn't like to go home at the end of the day. When I pick him up he pulls for a minute or two wanting to go back inside. But by the time we're home he's ready to fall asleep for the night. A long day of playing with other dogs has him ready to rest up and do it again the next day. Very reasonable boarding and day care prices and a great staff make this the perfect place to take your dog. read more

I always thought 4paws did a great job and then my dog was severely bitten. Overall, I was disgusted and sick about the situation! When I called to express my dissatisfaction to the owner he stated my dog had great care and that I should have read their contract more carefully. He kept saying "Do you know what you signed?" but of course I didn't. He also said I should be happy he paid for the surgery. He also claimed he had a video of the incident. Then he hung up on me. A week later I received a CYA 'form letter' saying my dog had barred her teeth and was "growly" before the incident. The incident happened on Easter Sunday. Through the letter from the owner it was revealed that not only did none of the attendants see the bite when it happened, but apparently there was now no video of it either. It is my opinion that 4paws is understaffed. Also that at times small dogs are mixed with large dogs. This is obviously a recipe for disaster. I paid the bill, but will NEVER return. read more

We have been taking our dogs, and sometimes our cats, to Four Paws for about seven years now. Our pets have been boarded, bathed and groomed here. Our visits have ranged from doggie daycare to long two-week stays. We have never had a problem and the staff always treats us like family. We highly recommend Four Paws. read more

ZERO STARS!!! I called to get some information because an extended stay in the area was planned, the phone conversation wasn't that friendly in fact a bit rude. I went in to see the place and to get the information and was not greeted nor was there a welcoming feeling at all. I spoke with a woman named Glenda who was harsh and abrupt. She was not interested in showing me anything, telling me about services offered, nor giving me a tour of the facility. I see a number of very poor reviews on here and can assure you I would never entrust my dog to someone like this. I observed a dog leaving and the dog was filthy. The place smelled awful. I can well see why someone stated they do not assume responsibility for anything that occurs there. The previous reviews really describe Glenda as a screaming shrew and I can well believe it. I would not trust these people with your pet. Shame on them. Anyone who uses racial slurs should be put out of business. I would love to see the Black community come together and protest in front of this store. To curse at and yell racial slurs at a young woman is totally unacceptable. read more

If I could rate this zero stars I would. Glenda is an unprofessional, non sympathetic, hostile "office manager! These people do not care about your dogs, your time, or money. They will send a freshly bathed dog home covered in filth. Glenda cursed at me and belittled me over the phone, because of an error on their end. Because of the clutter in the main office, they lost my dogs belongings, her medication, her enhancers, and expensive leash. Since they are obviously used to operating in complete filth, it takes me by no surprise that they must expect their clients to be as filthy as they are. Obviously since Glenda is operating this filthy center, the nastiness must bleed into her professionalism too. This place deserves to be shut down for pisspoor management. If you care about your animal please do not put them in the hands of Fourpaws. I unfortunately kept trying to find the good in the situation since we were new to the area and didn't know of any other places. Look they don't even use computers in this rinkydink business. Trust me when I say, I would never let them supervise a pebble alone. Glenda the unfortunate face of the company, told me to "shut the f*ck up on the phone" and proceeded to attempt to gaslight me by telling me to calm down and continue to let her talk to me in a belittling way. I hope that nobody ever takes their furbabies here. It's the complete opposite of Allstate's slogan.... Believe me when I say your pets are NOT in good hands with them. read more

We just picked up our dog from a 10 day stay. I would definitely recommend Four Paws. He was happy, healthy, freshly bathed, and ready for a nap. It is truly a great feeling to know we have a place we can count on and trust to leave our dog when we need to. We have been going to four paws for about 3 years now. They seem to be somewhat interested in the dogs and my dogs seem happy, yet always dirty . My complaint is that if something goes wrong or your dog is injured in any way, they will NEVER hold themselves accountable for anything . Always an excuse , never an apology. My puppy is permanently disfigured from a head injury , my doodle was bit twice , once, the owner was leaving , driving away and my dog was still in there for daycare? It was 6:50, they are open until 7. I never received an apology, just some lie about how he was moving his car ? Really? I would never recommend this place , solely , because they are the most money hungry, unprofessional , uncaring people I have ever come across in the pet industry . Stay away , there is another pet resort nearby that is much more professional . This place should be shut down. read more

The office manager is professional but the owner argues and does not seem to care when a customer has a concern. We've been taking our dog to Four Paws since they opened. Some of the staff have quirky personalities but overall they have good service and take good care of our dog. They have always treated her well. The prices are reasonable, the hours are good and our dog loves it there. We board her about twice a year and it's always a good experience. She goes to doggy daycare 2-3 times a week. I've recommeded Four Paws to quite a few people and all seemed happy with the service. read more

I love Four Paws... and so does my dog! Four Paws offers boarding, training, grooming and day care. I love their boarding and day care concept... your dog is basically at a dog park playing with other dogs all day. They have a fenced in outdoor play area and large rooms inside for the dogs to play. The dogs are free to play inside or outside, based on their choosing. My dog is always exhausted for at least 24 hours after going to Four Paws, because he played so hard with the other dogs. The staff is very friendly and always happily greet me and my dog by name. I highly recommend Four Paws to any dog owner! read more

We entrusted our dog to Four Paws for eight months and our experience there was so negative we will never go back again. Our dog was severely injured twice and we also had to deal with one major illness during our time there. The first injury was to her side and required massive surgery and healing to repair the damage. We suspect that it was a situation where our dog got caught on some of the playground equipment they have left on the facility (the place is an old daycare for children) and ripped her side open trying to get away. The vet said it looked like she could have been bitten but Four Paws swore no fight had occurred. The thing that truly disappointed me about Four Paws was that NO ONE noticed a single thing was wrong with my dog who was bleeding and had a gaping open wound on her side. When we got her home that night I noticed immediately that something was wrong and found the massive wound. I cringe at the thought of my dog hurting herself so badly and not a single person at their facility even noticing the problem. After that injury we had several weeks of recovery from the surgery. Then I really had a hard time taking her back to Four Paws. Ultimately, they called and asked us to give them another shot. They said they had tightened all bolts, removed any wires sticking out of the fences, and generally tried to make sure it never happened again. My husband even went in and talked to them directly and we ultimately decided to give them another shot. Bad idea. About a month later my husband went to pick up our dog and discovered the workers pouring hydrogen peroxide on her ear because she had this time been bitten by another dog. Again, the failure to properly observe the dogs came into play. Four Paws is located in a former daycare where one of the main classrooms is now used as an indoor play area with plastic over the door leading to the outside so the dogs can run in and out all day long. This room is also home to the door where the dogs are released to go home. All the dogs know this and clamor around the door to try and leave. The current place we go to is fabulous and prevents this situation by not having the door in the common area. Apparently my dog went to the door with several other dogs when the high school worker was letting one out to go home. Because of this faulty system and because he was not properly watching the dogs, one got mad at the crowd and turned to the next dog (mine) and bit her through the ear. My dog again required hundreds of dollars of surgery to repair the damage. She also had to be put on heavy tranquilizers to try and stop her from shaking her head since one bite was so bad they couldn't stitch it but had to glue it to try and heal the damage. The owner volunteered to reimburse us for our vet bills from the second injury. Yet, when we sent him several letters enclosing the copy of our vet bill he ignored every single one. They also refused to reimburse us the remaining visits on our card when I told them we would (obviously) not be coming back anymore. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the other places in town. read more

The owner Rob and his staff were extremely accommodating and helpful, even when we gave them short notice on the partial day boarding. If you love your pet, please DO NOT TAKE THEM TO FOUR PAWS! We boarded our dogs for a week while on vacation. Upon pick-up, both were significantly thinner than we left them, coughing and sneezing, refusing to eat or drink and the one who attempted after being encouraged to eat, she immediately threw it up! They had our number as well as that of a local family member but they never called to report issues with them eating or their health. My old dog (a nearly 14 mixed breed) who is never active and is usually overweight, with a rather rounded midsection is looking healthy-meaning she's lost a lot of weight and is even less active now, and my younger dog (4 yr. old pure bred weimaraner) who is normally healthy and muscular is practically skin and bones, I can see and feel her spine and multiple ribs and I've never been able to feel that on her and we've had her since she was 8 weeks! My dogs are VERY SICK! They're lethargic, their noses are dry since returning home and they are both coughing and sneezing and they have fevers too! I had to miss work to care for my dogs and take them to an emergency vet appointment-which the visit, medication and special food to finally get them eat again cost us over $200 on top of the $400 we paid for boarding! And if they aren't better in 10 days we'll incur additional costs! I was obviously upset that my dogs were sick, but nothing prepared me for the response from Four Paws. Initially I was passed off like a hot potato from person to person. Eventually, one of the staff members said she would have to have had the General Manager, Bobbie call me. Shortly after Bobbie Arrico called, she was immediately very RUDE, she refused to admit that my dogs are sick and stated that "your dogs were fed together and ate well, they are just tired, they were running all day everyday" and then later after I repeatedly explained just how sick my dogs were she said, "Dogs get sick just like people", and "I don't want to talk to you because you're pissing me off, I'll have the owner call you" and last but not least, "Wah, Wah, Wah", before I hung up on her. Of course, that was Monday and it is now Friday and I have not received a call from the Owner still! I am absolutely disgusted that this company is is business and making money off of people. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST customer service I have ever received. Oh, and my dogs are still not better, but they have started eating some, drinking and eliminating finally! I requested a refund both from Ms. Arrico and through my Better Business Bureau complaint, but I have not received a dime from Four Paws, nor have they apologized. read more

This has been the worst experience of my life. My dog become very ill from the day I picked him up. He has to be hospitalized all due to a parasite infestation that he got from this kennel. I looked all over the Warren county area for a place to take care of our Golden Retriever Puppy when my daughter went back to college this summer. I tried "It's a Dog's World" and my poor puppy was so unhappy and received such poor treatment there that I was almost ready to try a private pet sitter instead so he'd get proper care, love and attention. Then I found Four Paws in Landen. These people are wonderful. Our puppy is happy, well exercised and actually behaves better than before he started going there. The prices are VERY reasonable and the staff really know and love my puppy so I can go to work and not worry that he is having fun AND is getting the time and loving attention he needs as if he was at home with me. When I took our puppy in for an assessment they took me on a tour and I was impressed with how clean everything was, especially the kennel areas. The only downside is that this place seems so popular that it may have outgrown its size for as many dogs as they seem to have coming here. read more
