I started taking my 2 labs to K9 a few months ago after moving to the West Chester/Mason area. My labs are very sociable and usually absolutely love day care. We had a pleasant experience the first couple of months, but the last few times that I have taken the dogs there I have started to feel uneasy. The owner,  Amy, started being very rude to me the last couple of times I had picked my dogs up. The last time that I dropped the dogs off, Amy sighed as soon as I walked in. I was instantly offended and asked Amy why and asked if my dogs were not well behaved or something... she replied that my dogs were "like a bull in a china shop", which quite frankly was very offensive given the serious tone she used. My dogs are 2 year old labs, so yes, they have a lot of energy, but they certainly are well behaved dogs and I have never received anything but great feedback at other day cares.  I wish I would have listened to my instincts and not taken them back, but I dropped my dogs off there this morning. My dogs started acting strange as soon as we walked in and acted scared to go in. Their actions were very strange and out of character. So, I started digging for some more recent reviews and I found one from a couple months ago stating that they witnessed a worker kick their dog on the web cam. I instantly drove right back there and picked my dogs up, feeling absolutely sick to my stomach for putting them in that situation. After seeing that someone else witnessed misbehavior, I knew that I was not just overthinking the situation. I really believe that my dogs were mistreated at one point, and THAT is why they were pulling away and hesitant to go inside this morning. I believe that Amy simply does not like my dogs and that is why she decides to be rude to me when I come in. I hope to God that I am wrong, but I strongly believe something happened to my dogs there that caused them to be scared of going in. PLEASE, look elsewhere for a daycare... especially if you have a high-energy dog! Note: I am not the most experienced Yelp user, so I am not sure why or how reviews get flagged as "Not recommended" but I was able to locate quite a bit of these hidden reviews after digging. This is how I was able to find the very helpful review of someone witnessing animal abuse on the web cam. I'm not sure why or how these reviews are hidden and not incorporated in the overall rating, but it is upsetting. If I would have seen these reviews when I was doing my initial research, I would never have brought my poor dogs there and would never have wasted my money on day care packages that I will now not utilize. read more

Our vet has an excellent kennel, close to our house. Our dog is not comfortable there, and you have to pay extra for minimal play time or an extension of time in a small, confined area outside. At K9, our dog strains the leash to get inside the Club. Amy & Joe are friendly, knowledgeable and amazing with the dogs; the quality of supervised doggie daycare makes all the difference. I never worry about him while he's boarded there. Instead, I wonder if he misses us at all. This is the second dog we have entrusted to K9, and our relationship to this business goes back at least 10 years. read more

I recently had some health issues that I ended up in hospital. This was all sudden and needed care for my dog. My dog had been with k9 for many years but at home with me for last 5 years. I called and spoke with amy and she was very helpful welcoming and understanding of my situation. She even offered to go pick up dog from house. My dog ended up in boarding for about 4 weeks. I have been bringing my 2 dogs to K9 Country Club for close to 3 years now. They come for daycare and we also board them here whenever we go out of town. Our dogs are very high energy and this place wears them down. It is not your typical "doggy daycare" where they are placed in a kennel and get several "breaks" or time to play. The dogs essentially have freedom to hang outside to play or inside various rooms. Amy and Joe are so knowledgeable and have given us such great doggy behavior advice both times we adopted. One of our dogs was a biter when she got excited and Amy showed me some tips to break her of that. They have cameras and also post daily pics on FB. Me and my dogs absolutely love this place. They try to knock the door down to go inside and are asleep in my car before we leave the parking lot when I pick them up! read more

My wife and I have been using K9 Country Club for our dog Samson for about 8 months now. We tried other locations and at the urging of our dog trainer (Cincinnati's best as she was voted) we reluctantly tried K9. Each time I drove by the place I thought no way was I bringing my boy to a house that was renovated into a doggie center. WOW WAS I WRONG! Amy and Joe are nothing but professional and know canines as well or better than any dog people I know. They are willing to take countless minutes (and in my case hours) of time to offer advice and help. It doesn't hurt that they are dog instructors themselves and own on any given day 7 or more. As far as business practices they keep their clients well informed of what the behavior of their pets during the day. I guess this says a whole lot about them as they care individually for each animal and want the owners to take the time to train them appropriately if any potential issues arise. You can watch your pooch play or rest during the day on their great spy cam as well. This is added comfort for me as I can even pull up my computer at lunch and see what Sam is doing. If you ever have a question, a quick email or phone call is promptly returned and with great info. If you want to try the facility to see if your dog fits, the behavior screening day to see if he has compatibility is well worth your time and money. Our dog waits at the door when we are ready to leave each morning and shakes his tail and whole body as we walk him in to hang with his buds at the Club! I think this speaks wonders as the Pack Leaders keep a tight ship on the rest of the pack each day. Each of their team members are great at helping and care just as much about every patron whether they have 2 legs or 4. We have no issues leaving Samson with them for extended periods of time as we know he will have plenty to do with the other dogs. They take care of him and make sure he feels like this is a second home for him. It probably doesn't hurt that I give them free rule to discipline him AND ME for what I might be doing that is not positive for his behavior at present time or in the future. Although I am not a current customer, I toured the facility this week. I was so dissappointed with the way it looked and the care that was given to the dogs. I would never place my dog or recommend this place to anyone. When I first pulled up I thought I was in the wrong place because it looks like an old home that is falling apart! The dogs were left alone with no suppervison in some dilapidated rooms and others in the backyard while only 1 person was working there. I agree with the other reviewers in regards to customer service, definitley lacking, as well as cleanliness. We took our dogs here for about a year and we never felt 100% satisfaction with the level of care they provided for our dogs. We've also taken our dogs to other daycare places around town and were completely satisfied with all our visits. What made us so unhappy with K9 Country Club? Quite a few things.... First, it's not a country club it's an old run down house that smells horrible. If you don't like your dog to be smelly, please advise, this place has a very stagnant aroma. Second, our pups are hounds. They like to mask their scent by rolling in poop. I have counted numerous times they have given our dogs back covered in dry poop and we didn't notice until we got back home. I believe this happens because they are understaffed. Third, their method of drying dogs when they get wet is not for every dog. One of our pups was skittish to go to daycare one day. My wife asked an employee ' why our dog might be a little afraid to go to daycare today? ' The employee told us she had gotten wet the other day and they placed her in a kennel. Then surrounded the kennel with box fans to dry her off... Like I said, this method may not be for every dog... Sure as hell wasn't for our pup. Fourth and Final.... The BIGGEST REASON WHY WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!!! Customer Service was awful! Not so much from the girls or Joe ( one of the owners ) but it came from Amy Ball. I witnessed her being rude to other customers, shaking her head, muttering things under her breath and throwing her hands up in the air..... But the last straw was when she was rude to my wife. We dropped the pups off one morning like we normally do and my wife removed the girls from their leashes to be helpful, Amy proceeded to yell at my wife about removing the dogs from the leash and yanked our dogs collars when they were in the holding area. I know my wife was trying to be helpful and I know she shouldn't have released the leashes before handing them over but we were loyal customers.... Let me rephrase that.... We were loyal PAYING customers, that we're just trying to help out because we know our pups are big and can be a handful when taking off the leashes. The bottom line is, that sort of behavior isn't something I trust, deserve or am willing to PAY for. Also, That sort of behavior was coming from the owner. If the owner acts that way, then that leads me to believe other employees will act the same. Some great places to send your dog to daycare rather than K9 country club: The Pet Spot, Norwood ( my favorite and the owner Jeff is a very nice and knowledgable man ) Four Paws, landen Dog Day Everyday ( two locations, west Chester 747 and beechmont ) they won an Angie's List award in 2014 for customer service. Our pups now go here 3 times a week and the staff is SOOOooo nice to us the PAYING customer but most of all, our dogs rush us to get in there everyday. I hope this helps any dog loving parent in the Cincinnati area. Our dogs are 2 and 4 and we just want the best for them. read more

We just moved to Mason and were trying out different daycare facilities. I dropped my dog off at K9 in the morning and was happy to see that they had cameras you could watch. Of course all day I was watching it until I saw something that made me sick to my stomach. The owner went over and kicked a dog in the stomach and for the next hour the dog sat in a corner alone. Was doing nothing wrong. I immediately went to go pick my dog up and left. They show no interaction with the dogs, and he kept nudging them with his knee and pushing them off when they came up to him. Sickening to see and witness. Would not recommend. read more

My dog loves it here and I love taking her here! She has separation anxiety so we take her whenever we can while we're at work. Amy, Joe, and their employees are all wonderful with the dogs! This is also one of the few places I will take her to get her nails trimmed, they do an amazing job! You can tell everyone there really cares about the dogs and loves their job! Joe, Amy, and all the employees have been fabulous. I have a VERY energetic, large puppy. He is 75 pounds at less than a year old, and a typical Weimaraner. And every single person I have had contact has been great, especially considering my pup is a handful. To be honest, I am shocked by some of these reviews -- either a lot has changed in the past few years, or these reviewers are upset that their dogs were not allowed back. Specifically, I'd like to address Amy. Since she appears to be taking some of the heat. Not only has Amy NEVER scolded me, including yesterday morning when my pup jumped at her in the parking lot, she has spent a moment or two each time I've seen her giving me tips and trick to train my dog. She has always taken the time to answer questions and give advice. As a matter of fact, the all of the employees do. This is a great facility. read more

I have taken my dog, Betty, to K9 Country Club approximately twice a month since last summer. She is a large young dog with lots of energy and our family operates under the philosophy that "a good dog is a tired dog." With that said, we do a lot of off leash hiking, jogging, and occasionally, during inclement weather, doggy daycare, to ensure she has ample opportunities for exercise. Every time I have picked her up, I have heard that she "loves to play," is "energetic," and "had a great time." Until today. Today I dropped her off around 1:15PM and was called by Amy, the owner, at 2:16PM and told I needed to come and pick Betty up immediately. Fearing something had happened, I called her back. Amy indicated that Betty was "very aggressive" and had nearly caused two fights already. This was shocking to me and I asked Amy why she would be so problematic out of nowhere. Amy proceeded to tell me that every time Betty comes she is rambunctious and doesn't stop. Ummm...yes, I know...she's a puppy. I asked why I had never heard this before and she told me she "didn't know" but I needed to come and get her. When I arrived I asked again why I hadn't heard that she was a problem prior to this visit and was told that Betty acts "like a bull in a China shop" (yep, she's a large puppy) and that the other dogs don't appreciate it and that her play style is totally inappropriate (again this is the first I am hearing this). So I asked "Is she aggressive or are the other dogs just tired by the time she arrives and she's too much?" To which Amy responded, "It's like a party, she's just arriving but everyone else is already drunk and wants to relax." Ok, good to know because that's very different from "your dog is aggressive and starting fights." When I asked "So, can I bring her back?" Amy responded "What? Bring her back three more times until she bites someone? No, she's not welcome." Ok...wow. We go from "loves to play," "energetic" and "has a great time" to no longer welcome. That's pretty extreme. Is it warranted? I don't know, I wasn't there. What I will say is this....you're in the customer service business. It's about relationships. Don't blindside people by taking their pup and their money for the last 12 months and then turning around and saying their dog's behavior is deplorable. Additionally, perhaps there is a solution somewhere between "your dog is banned" and "your dog is welcome." Perhaps it is...bring Betty in the AM when all the dogs are ready to rock and she'll be well received. I'll end this by saying I was in the doggy daycare business for 15 years. The company I worked for focused on relationships and customer service because building into clients builds business. Based on my own experience and the reviews I've read today, it sounds like Amy could use some help in this department.... read more

Having a Weimaraner pup full of energy, K9 Country Club was perfect for him. His first day there, Joe one of the owners slowly introduced him to the other dogs and observed his interactions with them. He had such a wonderful time playing with his new friends that he forgot I was there. It was wonderful that I could watch him through out the day at work and to see him interacting with the other dogs on the web cam. The staff was extremely friendly and made Grayson and I felt very welcome. It gave me a peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. K9 Country Club has a huge outdoor sections which allow the dogs to soak in the sun and breath in the fresh air and not be inside all day. I like how the staff would bring them inside and outside depending on how cold it is. I appreciate that they are opened at 6:30 am on the weekdays which allows me to drop him off early and not be late for work. Also, the fact that they are opened till 7 pm helps me not to feel rush in picking him up. Thanks K9 staff for taking care of my young pup and allowing him to have such a fantastic time yesterday. They consistently look for ways to improve the facility as well as ensure they know what our dogs need when we board them. We love K9Country Club! We used several other kennels, but all of them kept our sweet Springer Spaniel caged for such a long time. I appreciate that Remy is out and playing with other dogs all day. The only time he is crated is for mealtime and bed. If he gets overstimulated, he can also go to his crate and nap. We trust that Amy, Joe and the staff will take good care of our pup. We travel, so Remy spends over a month each year with his friends at K9. When we are away, we never worry. The staff knows Remy so well that if he got sick, they recognize it and will get him to a vet...pronto. I so want to keep K9 a secret, but everyone with a dog should know about K9...we are so pleased to have a place Remy can go and be happy. (He even cries when we take him away!). I just want to share the awful experience that we had at the K-9 Country Club with our dog. I understand that someone may try to call us biased in this situation, however, if you keep reading, you will hopefully understand why we have an issue: We have a 7-year-old female German Shorthaired Pointer who is in no way aggressive. We started sending her to K-9 because she has very bad storm anxiety and, as we both work full-time jobs, we cannot be at home with her during all storms and also because it was close to work. This summer was the first time we had ever taken her there, and she started going in June of this year. On Monday this week, we received a call from a girl working there, Jill, who said that our dog had been in a fight with another dog (a red flag to us as she NEVER gets in fights), she wasn't welcome back, and oh, she just has a scratch and is being held in a kennel until we come get her. Since Jill assured us that our dog was fine, we spent about an hour getting loose ends tied up at work before heading over. When we arrived, however, our problems started: My dog was NOT okay and she did NOT just have a scratch. She had a very clear puncture wound on, under, and around her shoulder, she couldn't put any weight on that leg and was limping. I would never have called that okay or just a scratch and we told Jill as much. She claimed that our dog was being "very aggressive" after the incident with the other dog, but the other dog was very much okay without a scratch on it. She said that she didn't see how it started because she was busy taking pictures. Please note that she was the only handler there at this time. We rushed our dog to the vet where she was checked for nerve damage and broken bones and, thankfully, there didn't seem to be any. However, there was extensive soft tissue damage (words of the vet) and she was prescribed pain medication, an anti-inflammatory, and an antibiotic. All-in-all, it was NOT an inexpensive trip. We went to K-9 yesterday (Thursday, since the owner wouldn't meet us before then) to watch a surveillance video of the incident. I would caution ANY dog parent that takes their pet there to be wary of these cameras as they are very grainy and low-quality. Joe, one of the owners, showed us the video and tried to tell us that there was "no way to tell which dog started the fight," which is laughable considering it was very clear to us via the video that the other dog ran to ours and literally slammed into her. This is where the chase/fight ensued. Joe also neglected to show us the end of the video where they claimed that our dog was being "aggressive." I am sorry, but I just do not understand how my dog could have possibly been the aggressor in this situation when she was the only one who was hurt, and this video showed as much, even with so little detail. One other interesting fact about K-9 that I have a large issue with, is that we had no idea that the handler-to-dog ratio was SO out of proportion: yesterday while we were there, other than the owner who showed up to show us the video, there was only one (yes, one) young girl working there with 30 (yes thirty) dogs and, surprise, a fight broke out with two of the dogs as we were walking out! Joe even told us that the day before there was another fight. As a dog parent who trusts my baby (we have no children at this time) with these people, I am very disappointed that we were lead to believe that the staffing was in a much better situation than it is, there were more dogs than we were lead to believe, and the situation with our dog was handled so poorly. Even if they said without a doubt that our dog was not at fault, took responsibility for their staffing issue (this wouldn't have ever happened if they had more than one person who simply was on their phone at the time rather than watching the dogs), and extended an invitation for her to return, I would NEVER take her back there. I also caution anyone considering this place that even though their prices are low, so is their care of your family member. read more

I can't believe some of the negative reviews I've read about K9 Country Club. I've taken my dogs here for years and have never had any of the problems others have cited. My husband and I both find the owners, Joe and Amy, to be very personable, and completely devoted to all the dogs. They've made a lot of changes to the facility over the years, and maybe those changes were made after the old, negative reviews were written. Screening for new dogs is a must, and I appreciate that this is done, as I don't want my dogs to be stressed out or harmed by a dog with poor socialization skills or an overly aggressive sense of play. (I'm sure everybody thinks their dog is a little angel; I'm guilty of this too. But different people have a different idea of "good behavior". Just check out kids in a restaurant or a grocery store--you'll see what I mean.) I would hope that the owners would err on the side of caution every time, and if a dog shows signs of aggression beyond the normal pack-mentality play, the dog would be removed. I'm sorry others have had bad situations in the past, but I can't find a single bad thing to say about K9 Country Club or its staff. read more

We have been taking Molly to K9 Country Club for over 5 years, and we absolutely love it. You can tell that Joe and Amy and the staff truly love animals, which I think is very important when choosing a place where your dog will be staying over 8 hours a day at, or overnight. They are very friendly, the play areas for the dogs are well kept, and they really get to know the dogs so that we aren't concerned about Molly getting her medications at the right time, etc. (which has been a problem in other dog care facilities we have used in the past). While we were researching places to take Molly prior to moving to the area, I was surprised at how many places charge extra to simply let your dog outside to relieve itself, or even make you pay extra just to give attention to your dog. That is not the case at K9 Country Club - Molly gets so excited on days when she knows she's going, she loves it! One other piece of information that I feel is important - Joe and Amy are very flexible regarding when they are given notice for boarding or any services your dog needs. The previous place we took our dog could be rude regarding requests for "emergency boardings" or last minute requests for a grooming service. Joe and Amy have always done everything they can to make us, and our dog, feel welcome. At the end of the day, it is nice to be able to drop off our dog at a place where we know she will not only be taken care of, but a place where the people there truly care for her and where she has fun. read more

I just dropped my Aussie off this morning to be evaluated to see if he would be a good fit. This place was recommended to me by my puppies vet. I met with Amy, she's very kind and explained the process to me as to how they introduce my dog to others. The building is older, but everything had a place, it was clean, and smelled clean. To say my dogs "cant wait to get to the club" is a huge understatment! My dogs are my life and I wouldnt trust just anyone with them. The owners Amy and Joe not only have years of experience in training and caring for dogs, but they have a passion for all 4 legged friends. They give your dog the perfect amount of play time and rest when needed. Their top priority is always the dogs safety. They are professional and dont take the job lightly. If you are interested in a doggie daycare or just a place to board your dogs for vacation K9 Country Club is the ONLY place I would recommend. There has only been one place I have ever boarded my dogs before I started with k9, and when I picked them up they were crazy! I couldnt afford to spend the extra money to give them play breaks so they had to sit in a cage all day. The great thing about K9 is daycare is included in the boarding price so my dogs got plenty of exercise and time to stretch there legs! I highly recomend K9 to all dog owners. I have been taking my dog there for 2 weeks now. They put him outside on the Left yard as they call it with no shade and no water and the top of his nose got burned and scabbed. When the scabs came off he has big pink spots on a brown nose. Every time I picked him up he was so thirsty so I went on the side of the house past the white fance and look in on the left yard and there was no water. So I complained. The next day I went to pick up my dog I was told that they gave him water and he spilled and sat in it, now, if you know my dog you know that he doesn't like water and would never do that. He has never done that in 7 yrs. And I was also told that a dog can go without water for a week. Maybe so, but I wouldn't do that to a dog, but they seem to be able too. We first took our 6 month old lab to K9 Country Club when the original owner was there. We still take that same, though much slower, 14 1/2 year old lab there. Since Amy took over many years ago an already great place has became even greater. We love taking our dogs there for daycare and absolutely love the peace of mind when we board them. We did have one dog that we used to take to K9CC that developed aggressive behavior towards the other dogs. We were told not to bring her anymore. I wouldn't have it any other way. The K9CC environment is crazy, overwhelming and an absolute blast for the right dog. Other dogs will never be happy in that environment and I'm very, very happy that Amy and her staff watch for this and aren't afraid to step in on behalf of the safety of the other dogs and well-being of the dog that's not working out. read more

They offer daycare and boarding. My lab goes there and loves it. There is over an acre of outdoor play aeas and I think they are the only daycare in the city with that much out door space and with natural surfaces instead of concrete. My dog sprints to the door every day and always comes home happy. They can get a little dirty, but that is the down side of natural surfaces instead of concrete. The baths are cheap and if they are too bad the staff normally clean them for free. Boarding works well too. Not as pretty as some of the "suite" places but theose suites are just pretty cages. My dog would rather be napping in the sun anytime rather than a small room with a TV. read more

I was a good customer of K9 for about a year. I left and will never go back after Amy Ball's completely outrageous and rude behavior toward me. I made a very honest mistake this morning and accidentally dropped my dog’s leash. He proceeded to run up to the fence. Naturally, the dogs all began barking. Amy flew out the front door, slamming it as hard as she could, yanked the dogs and the leashes out of my hands and began dragging them inside. Slamming the door behind her again. I was rather startled. I understand this is a problem but in the year I have been there nothing like this has ever happened to me. I made a mistake and I immediately began to apologize. Amy, on the other hand, was screaming at me about my leashes and my dogs. I very calmly tried to explain that it had never happened before and I didn’t understand why she was being so nasty and rude to me. Instead of calming down, she just yelled even more. I have seen the owner (Amy) go off on other customers before but until today I had never had the displeasure of dealing with her nastiness. She constantly seems frazzled and angry. I do not understand someone who seems to be so annoyed by dogs (and people) yet runs a doggie daycare. I thought Joe was very nice and the rest of the staff was clearly dog lovers and pleasant people. However, I will not tolerate having a door slammed in my face and being screamed at. I will be sure to tell everyone I know to stay away from this place. Which, by the way, seemed of very little concern when I mentioned that to Amy. In fact, I truly felt uncomfortable leaving my dogs there for the rest of the day after the incident, but I had no choice but to leave them for the day. This entire experience has left me very sad and disappointed. I would also like to note that since I have posted my reviews online, Amy has been in full spin control. Reviews are suddenly popping up online inferring that Amy had the right to discipline me. Yes - those exact words. Apparently Amy believes that customers should be disciplined through emotional outbursts. But I am so glad to know that so many of Amy's customers are so perfect. I'm sure that they (along with Amy of course) have NEVER made a mistake before. Perfect people here in Mason! I am so glad I live surrounded by people in glass houses who are happy to be disciplined by a doggie day care owner. read more

My dog had been going here for 6 months and I was never 100% comfortable with it but my dog loved it so I would continue to go. He would come home with huge, deep scratches down his side, his ear had a bite mark and took forever to heal, when we dropped him off the owners seemed less than enthusiastic about having to get off the computer and take him, and most of the time the owner Amy would call my dog the wrong name. Also, most of the time I would pull up or leave there was absolutely no supervision in the outside play areas. We went on vacation last month and decided to board him for 5 days. I left 4 emergency numbers and said if ANYTHING happens call and someone will come get him. I got no calls, came to pick him up, and found out he had been in a crate for 4 days because he "attacked" another dog. We got 4 bags of food when we picked him up which means he didn't eat for 2 days total, he had lost 6 lbs in 6 days, he cowered when we went to pet him and howled all night in the crate there. No phone call or anything! So I payed them $31 a day to keep my dog in a crate and only "let out to use the bathroom" when I could have done that for free at home. He had diarrhea for a week after coming home due to stress. I understand attacking a dog is unacceptable but not notifying the owners and keeping him locked up without the owners knowledge is not ok! Then to top it off, when Amy the owner was telling us about the incident she was extremely rude and uncaring. When we asked questions about our dogs behavior because we were concerned she got loud, defensive and extremely nasty towards us. She said "I can't have him back here" and to that I say even if you would've taken him back I never would have brought him back! It's weird to me how two people who own a doggy daycare can seem so uncaring about the animals and their owners concerns. read more

Can't say enough good things about K9 Country Club. My three furry kids have been coming to The Club since they were old enough to go to day care...and before these 3, I had 2 other best friends who loved going to day care at the club from the time it opened its doors until the day each passed away (1 from cancer and one from surgical complications... and Joe and Amy grieved with me and helped me through that dreadful year.) Amy, Joe and all the staff are great. They are caring and compassionate but run a tight ship to make sure all are safe and secure. I travel a lot and so use K9 for boarding and day care...and grooming. My dogs are always so glad to get to The Club and I can rest assured that they get good exercise and are watched over. K9 CC is not the prettiest place from the outside, but the inside is full of love and good care. They have large run areas, the dogs are rotated in and out when it is too hot or too cold, and they look out for the little dogs so they aren't run over by the larger dogs. There have been several dogs rescued by Joe and Amy and each came in full of fear and needing love and they worked with these frightened dogs to get them past their fear and found them loving homes. I saw one coming into day care the other day and this pup went from cringing and not wanting to do anything but sit in a corner to bounding up the steps to play and be loved by staff. I have watched the live cam many times and have never seen anything but attentive staff and happy dogs. read more

I have no hesitations leaving any of my dogs at K9 Country Club! I have a 4 pound Pomeranian and a 70 pound greyhound and they both do great there. There's always fresh water, heat or AC depending on weather, or doors open when it's nice which is awesome for getting the dogs worn out with full access to the huge outdoor area all day long! read more

I don't understand why the positive reviews are being hidden. My dog Henry has been going to K-9 Country Club off and on for the last year. He loves it there. When we are in the car and approach the intersection where K-9 is located, he goes nuts. In response to some of the other reviewers' comments about Amy, Amy is a very matter of fact person. That is her personality. She is not mean. She very carefully warned me about my Lab starting to get chubby and I appreciated it. She did not say it in an unkind manner at all, just informative. She also warned me about holding the leash in a manner that could get my wrist broken if my dog suddenly bolted. Again, not in a mean way at all. Not everyone is a warm and fuzzy type person. Amy's husband Joe is a very laid back kind of guy. Different people, different personalities. I like the fact that they are dog trainers. That makes me feel more comfortable leaving my dog there. As far as the other staff members, I have found them to be very competent and friendly. I like the fact that I can check up and see what my dog is doing at any time of day, via the cameras. I just get on my computer at home and log in. If there were anything nefarious going on there, you can bet people would not have access to those cameras. In short, my dog and I have had a very positive experience at K-9 Country Club. I like the fact that they do an assessment on dogs to determine if their temperament is right for daycare. That makes me feel secure knowing that my dog is not going to be exposed to overly aggressive dogs. Skirmishes are going to happen when you have a group of dogs together. It is unavoidable. They are not people, they are animals and handle their disagreements in their own way. Nothing is going to be 100 percent safe. Any time you take your dog amongst other dogs you have to accept the fact that something could happen. No one can control that. To me, the benefits of dog and human socialization outweigh the risks. I highly recommend this doggie daycare and have, in fact, recommended it. They do a good job. read more

My brother took his dog to K9 for at least a year when he lived in the area. He is extremely particular about his pure bred border collie & her care. He recommended K9 to me when I was looking for a place for my year old energetic rescue when i work in the Cincinnati area, I live in north Dayton. I was a bit hesitant when I drove up & saw the spot which looked small but that all changed when I got inside. The staff was friendly & helpful, very knowledgeable about dogs, engaged with the dogs & knew each one that came through the door. They have rooms inside for the daycare dogs to have nap time & hangout if they are couch potatoes. There are three large play areas for the dogs outside with lots of room to run, rest under shade trees, explore & play on cool toddler slides & castles! There are always lots of other dogs there for my dog to play with. The Best part is that they have cameras set up so I get to log in every day & watch my Charlie having the time of her life! She loves this place so much. I love that it is family run & that they knew all about Charlie after the first day there. The staff is kind, caring & compassionate. Three years ago I took my other dog, a weimer-lab (she passed away from cancer this summer) to one of those popular chain doggie day care places in this area. She shook so badly after the third week I took her, it frightened me. Then I picked her up a few days after that and when we got out of the car at home she was limping badly. I took her to the vet & found that she had been injured & showed signs that she had been mounted frequently by other larger dogs. I did not take her back after we got her injury fixed. K9 is a place for dogs to run, play & have fun with other dogs. If you watch them in the cameras randomly throughout any day you see that they are happy & having so much fun being dogs. If you are looking for a place for your dog to be safe, happy & well cared for during the day K9 is it! read more

I have been working with animals for 7-8 years and have worked at vet offices, daycares and boarding facilities both in the Cincinnati area and Columbus while in school. I found that a facility can be gorgeous, but it all comes down to the people working there. It is very difficult for me to trust a place after I have seen the behind the scenes operation. I worked at K9 Country Club for a few years and it is the only place I will still bring my dogs when they need to blow off some steam or if I need to board them. I know that Amy and Joe are picky about their employees and will only entrust the dogs to someone who will treat them as their own. The dogs at K9 get to spend their days hanging out with the staff and running around playing. I have 2 small Pomeranians and a 70 pound Greyhound and I have no qualms about leaving any of them in their care and I love that it is perfect for the Grey who loves to run, and the Poms who may run a little, but spend most of their time hanging out with the staff. Other places I have worked will ignore aggressive behavior to make as much money as possible and avoid the uncomfortable confrontation with owners, putting the dogs' and employees' safety aside. K9's #1 priority is to keep all of their K9 guests and staff safe and happy. Dogs can act very differently when away from their home and parents and in a group setting, so they always bring unwanted behaviors to owners' attention and offer suggestions and resources. AC and heat are of course utilized when the it gets too hot or cold outside. They always have fresh, clean water and pools when it's hot... which is good for my dogs who won't drink water if it gets slobbery, and for my Grey who gets overheated easily. She has no problem keeping herself cool in the AC and taking dips in the pool. Bottom line.. Your dogs are in good hands at K9 Country Club! They will treat them as their own and make every effort to keep them safe, happy and well cared for! read more

My dog Cooper has been going to K-9 Country Club for almost 7 years. He goes to day care two days a week, boards at least 2 times a month and also is groomed there. I try to be very good dog owner and give Cooper the best of all that I can provide for him and have never had any concerns about all the time Cooper is left in Amy and Joe's care. They have always been on top of anything needed for Cooper or any changes they see that I should pay attention to. Cooper is always excited about going and happy to see the staff when we arrive. They have always been very cooperative and flexible when my schedule and Cooper's needs change. I originally chose K-9 because of a customer I spoke to in the parking lot years ago when I stopped to check out their services. The lady told me she had her dog in a number of places over time but thinks this is the best - she said it may not be the fanciest but the care is great.
