I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Brian and his team! I brought my 09 Audi A4 in for a no start condition with the crankshaft sensor. The car was there for a week. He diagnosed it being a bad tone ring on the crankshaft that did not pick up the signal, this problem has been bugging me for almost 6 months. He said that the crankshaft has to be removed being a mechanic. I've dutifully taken my Audi to the Authorized Audi Dealership in Oxnard where I bought it for the last 5 years for all manner of service. After the last two visits to the dealership where I was told I needed several thousands of dollars of "maintenance" I questioned whether the dealership was just trying to squeeze me for as much money as possible without regard for whether these repairs were necessary. So I took my car to Four Rings to get an opinion as to whether I needed those repairs and the recommended maintenance. Turns out my suspicions were confirmed. Brian walked me through what the dealership was trying to sell me )literally going under another Audi to show me) and why the repairs might be necessary in the future but that they were not necessary now. I bought a used car that I knew would eventually need some work, so I took it to the dealership for an assessment and was given a list of things that were wrong with the car and a very high price to fix all of these issues. Knowing I couldn't afford what the dealer quoted me to fix the car, I decided to shop around. I called Four Rings Performance and was given a quote for all of the repairs that was a fraction of the cost of what the dealership would have charged me, along with an explanation of each part the car needed and what it does (I really appreciated this education because I know very little about cars). I'm am so happy that I found this gem closer to my place. I still have the extended warranty for my 2016 A6, so going to the dealership may seem like a good option. But the convenience of not having to wait for a long time to get an appointment, not to mention the amount of money you can save, especially with all the price hike for almost everything. Follow up to my last review as I found myself with the ill-fated piston ring oil leak. This is no small job, and Brian thorough in his detail of what was needed including complete removal of the motor. I had previously been losing a quart every 400 miles. I'm now 500 miles in and oil level is still at full. And not only was work done as expected, but the price was much more palatable than the dealership or specialty German car shops. Last week I paid over $1200 for repairs related to coolant leaking from underneath the intake manifold on my 2010 Q5. So, why a 5 Star review? Because Brian took care of the extensive repairs at a fair price and is a genuinely nice person to work on your car! He is an Audi professional, and diagnosed my issues quickly. He replaced thermostat, heater pipe, and crankshaft breather valve as well necessary gaskets and seals. He also chaged the oil and filter.
