958 cayenne gts had thumping noise left front. porsche mechanic did not hear/feel what i described. i was told am a bit too sensitive and perceptive. drove for literally a year thinking i'm just too hypersensitive. recent dragging grinding sound right front. three separate mechanics had "no clue" (their words) despite checking "everything." told me not to worry about it and keep driving until it gets worse. 10 seconds taking it for a spin with a guy from motorwurks in my car, and he heard both left thump and right grind. said this was left upper control arm, and right axle into transfer case/or entire transfer case. you either know your job or you don't. these guys do. i rest my case. read more

When my 2017 Porsche Cayenne went out of warranty, I tried a couple of service places to maintain the pristine condition I kept my vehicle in and have been thrilled with Koncept Motorworks after several visits. They have been consistent with fair pricing (we all know Porsches aren't cheap to service) and also always accurate on the amount of time needed for the service provided. Most recently, I had a sensor light coming on and off telling me there was a coolant issue and to stop my car immediately. I was headed out on a trip to San Diego that coming weekend and needed it fixed right away and they gave me options but offered to fill the coolant fluid since it was low as a first step before going farther. I took my car in for oil and break change and ever since their break change my car whistles like the city bus. I've taken it back in numerous times since then but they just cannot figure out what to do to fix it. I firmly and kindly asked for a refund to take it to Porsche to fix, but they declined and keep saying "just give us one more chance." Enough is enough. I'm so glad we found Koncept. David and Byron are total Porsche geeks in the best way: they'll figure out what your car needs, deliver their recommendations honestly, explain what they did (without making you feel like an idiot), and charge a fair price for their skill and labor. We started taking our 911 there in 2018 and we'll never go anywhere else. David and Byron have done everything on this car from regular oil changes to the IMS bearing, starter replacement to window motor repair. Is it the cheapest garage in town? No, but you drive a Porsche. If you wanted JiffyLube, you would have bought a Honda. And to address those reviews that say the garage is too busy to get an appointment: you can't have a Porsche mechanic who's at the top of his game AND has a wide open calendar to fit you in this afternoon. You don't get both. So call ahead, leave a voicemail, and make an appointment for later this week or next. Again, you drive a Porsche. I'm writing this review for those diligent Porsche owners who are reading these to vet a new mechanic/shop. In short, this is the real thing, this is the right spot, these are the guys you want! First, I'm not new to Porsche, more specifically, the 996/986 models and the well known pros and cons of these vehicles. I've owned a few, in the past 20 years that were only serviced by one of the two well known Porsche mechanic/gurus located on the westside at the time. Both of which have since, either retired or passed. As the older generation of Porsche mechanics and enthusiasts moved onward and or upward, I began to think it was the end of an era, the last of the days where you could go to an independent Porsche shop, owned by an honest, truly skilled, hands on mechanic/enthusiast and get proper, no bs service at fair cost, in a timely manner. I'm really glad I found Koncept Motorwurks. There are a few other Porsche specialist shops closer to me in Studio City, but I prefer David and Byron and their guys working on my car. Today they did major 60k maintenance as well as my water pump on my 987.1 Cayman S. I have a half cage and non reclining bucket seats, so the work was far harder than it would be on a stock Cayman, and took them an hour or so longer than expected. They didn't charge me extra for the extended labor, and got the job done in one day so I didn't have to make a second trip out the next day to pick her up. Will be returning to see them for any future work needed. read more
