I stopped in to the four seasons the other day to get away from the madness for a bit and discovered Lance Horne playing piano in the lobby. There were a few big, comfy chairs surrounding the piano, so we sat and listened for a while! He's magical. I sure hope they offer this bit of refuge year-round and not just for the holidays. read more

As a nurse that is fighting in front line due to COVID (stayed here from April-June), best way to get appreciated is by having to stay in one of the best luxurious hotel in NYC for free. The hotel is just amazing and I couldn't thank Four Seasons enough for giving me the opportunity to let me stay at their hotel. Location: the hotel is located in 5th avenue. Few blocks from Central Park and all the tourist spots. The interior is so classy and for the first time in a hotel, I felt really comfortable and rich. Checkin Process: checkin process is so easy because due to covid they are very safe on checking in medical professionals here. Cleanliness: the rooms are very clean! I stayed here for 2 months. They collect your garbage and give you clean linens every other day. Beds: I had a King size bed, it was soft and slept really good throughout the night. Fresh linens all the time, smells good too. Room: omg it was huge. I think I had the basic room but it was so big, I even did my yoga and zumba online classes here. Very spacious, there is a huge tv and sofa. And the windows are huge and remote controlled! Very comfortable. Bathroom: super clean, The tub is big, I tried it multiple times and it is so relaxing. The free toiletries are all Bulgari! Can you imagine? So fancy! They also stock them everytime they collect your garbage. Service: the service here is top notch! The front desk was outstanding, they are very hospitable and we are all taken care of. They called me heroes but for real they were my true heroes. Restaurants: so they put a big refrigerator in the front so we can grab free food and drinks here. Very kind for who donated. We are full everyday. Restaurants near is by Lexington, a lot to choose from. It was undeniably a comfortable and unforgettable experience. I feel safe, I feel that I am well taken care of and I feel I am part of their family. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank Four Seasons, the management, the nurses, the housekeeping, the security and the amazing front desk personnels for all the hard work that you did for me and for all of the health care workers. My review is only for the bar area. I came here with a bunch of people to have some drinks and appetizers. The hotel itself is very pretty and love their Xmas tree. We were seated by the fireplace which was a nice touch. Drinks here are cheap since they are $24 each but they are well made. As far as food I got to try the sliders, truffle fries and flatbread. The food was all great especially the truffle fries. I really liked the ambiance here and how beautiful they had it decorate for the holidays I just wished the service was a little faster since it took forever to get the server around for another drink. read more

You know, I've been to a lot of Four Seasons Hotels and this was one I will not come back to. It is vastly overpriced, as is everything in NYC I understand, but it's borderline ridiculous for a hotel in an urban setting that is not a resort. I'm ashamed I paid so much to stay here and have so little to show for it. There is a house car that can drive you up and around the city as requested and I feel most guests are not aware of it - it is not advertised anyway and concierge are not especially forthcoming about it unless you specifically ask or see it as an option on the website or app. So you basically have to be familiar with this option during travel (the Las Vegas FS has this as well and you may not know). I believe in tipping if it is exceptional, or the services rendered warrant it, but the house car driver obviously expected a large tip for driving us about 5 minutes away in the Mercedes Benz which was nice, but would've been a $7 Uber and I'm already paying about $1100 a night for a hotel, I'm not tipping when I'm using perks included in my hotel rate and I don't appreciate it when staff act miffed that I didn't hand him a $20 bill for a 5 minute car ride in a house car I'm sure I already paid for as part of an overall included rate. Additionally, the wifi and television in the room went out during the stay and continued to mess up nightly each of our three nights there. The room was not set up with tea and coffee service in the room - I found it on the app and ordered it and it was brought up - but it was not refreshed daily during housekeeping, they left a dirty tea cup in the room with a used tea bag and did not clean that, and when I asked for it to be replenished, they tried to charge me room service for about $50 for two tea sets with some tea bags. Absolutely ridiculous. These are amenities I expect included with that high of a charge that ARE included but were not fully stocked or correctly managed. Additionally, my friend and I had breakfast here included with my travel company perks in The Garden restaurant downstairs all three days. One day, we ordered hot tea, coffee, a latte and a glass of milk. The total for those beverages? $49.00. Yup. My tiny glass of milk was a whopping $9. I don't come to the FS and anticipate it to be cheap in any way. However, I don't appreciate being price gouged for simple items and that includes food. Maybe I was just already miffed about all of the above.... and the last straw was the absolute craziness of the beverage prices. I will not stay here again. I can stay at other hotels inside NYC for better prices. This one has been checked off the list on my quest to stay at all FS hotels - and has been retired for me. If you have more money than God and it doesn't matter, this is a place you can waste $10,000 in a few days. But for me, when I treat myself to a nice hotel stay, I want an experience and the pretentiousness here was not to the level of FS service I have enjoyed in locations such as Hawaii, Budapest and Prague. read more

My firm had our annual meeting upstairs in the FIFTY7 room and it was a success. The space is perfect for our event because people were ale to go from the main room FIFTY7 where breakfast was held as well as the coffee break to FIFTY7 East for the meeting portion, and FIFTY7 West for the sit down lunch portion. The service was amazing from setting up the breakfast spread to cleaning everything up and setting up for our photo line with Tony Blair. The breakfast spread include bagels with spreads, muffins and pastries, as well as fruit salad. Note: the mini bagels were so delicious! For the lunch portion, we started with a garden salad with a balsamic dressing. Which to be honest was nothing to write home about. I took two bites and I was done. For the main entree, there were no options which simplified things but they did offer a vegetarian option and a salmon option. I had the vegetarian option which was delicious. It was roasted vegetables over quinoa and puréed carrot. The chicken was over the same thing and everyone seemed to enjoy it as well. A coworker of mine is kosher so he ordered he salmon and he said it was good as well. For dessert, we had a chocolate mouse with fresh raspberries on top which was very decadent and delicious. That might have been my favorite part of the meal! Overall, this years meeting went much smoother than any other and I do not know if it is because we have been doing it to a few years or if it is because we switched venues to the Four Seasons but I am hoping we will be back next year to host our annual meeting. read more

I specifically came here to meet and catch up with my sisterinlaw and friends and have drinks at the Ty Bar. The minute you arrive at the Four Seasons Hotel you are immediately greeted by a doorman with a hello and a smile and "welcome home" Upon entering you realize this is no ordinary hotel in NYC, this is luxury all the way even more so then some of the other Four Seasons Hotels in the Caribbean. The lobby has lots of marble and tall columns with beautiful woods and gorgeous center pieces all around. I came at night so everything around me had a soft amber color and dim lit sconces on the walls.. Right off the main lobby is the gift shop and there are TY beanie babies all around. The TY Warner Penthouse is named after the inventor of the beanie babies.There are different levels to this hotel. Elevators are a must unless you want to walk up a lot of stairs. If your disabled or handicapped they have all the accommodations to meet your needs. The TY Bar is like no other. Everything is red, red, red. From the lighting behind the bar, to the red candles on the tables and red velvet seating and pillows in the lounge area to the high black onyx looking high tops. It really has a cool oriental style vibe. I remember it differently and asked one of our three server about it. 30 languages are spoken by the staff, and they have people staying here from all over the world. .This TY Bar is newly renovated. The service here is like no other and top notch.. After placing a drink order my server brought over cheddar crisps and flavored almonds for snacking. Bar food is only served until 11p. They are known for their Korean BBQ , Pub Burgers, Spicy Ahi Tuna Rolls Truffle Oil Fries, and Martinis of all different varieties.You can also order a speciality drink that dates back to the 20's and 30's. This particular Four Seasons Hotel has its own private custom-barrel bourbon made exclusively by Hudson Bourbon for the Ty Bar, at this location only. Off of the Ty Bar is the beautiful Garden Restaurant with its lush trees all around. Beware! Closing time vary, and can change anytime based on management. If you don't have a room, security will politely ask you to leave and get you a ride, or you can purchase a room. All of us had a ride so this wasn't a problem. SPG platinum member who travels weekly for work here. Typically I stay SPG but figured I would try something different. Checked in and the room looked nice - nice views nice ambiance, but the bathroom had a major smoke smell as if someone just smoked a cigarette in there. Jonathan, the manager, was super friendly and helpful - very apologetic - and personally transferred me to another room, which initially felt fine. After I showered and came out, I found the new room ALSO smelled of cigarette smoke. I thought I was going crazy - so I called and spoke with Jonathan again, who confirmed that his staff checked the first room, and there definitely was a cigarette smoke smell. So now that I knew I wasn't having a stroke or going crazy, I asked for a room without smoke smell (this is a non smoking hotel fully). Jonathan said there were no other rooms open, and could only offer scents / housekeeping. I told him that wouldn't work so I will look into other options. Went on my corporate site and booked another hotel, and called Jonathan at the front desk saying I am leaving for the other hotel. 2 weeks later I notice a charge from the 4 seasons. I call, and get another manager, who interrupts me until I listen to his recitation of what occurred during that evening. He tells me I did not let the hotel know I was leaving, and that they are charging me for the room as they offered to provide scents to mask the smell. This new manager - I should have taken his name - was an absolute jerk. I was in an Uber at the time, and even my driver told me I should call Amex and void this charge, and that the manager was being an jerk for no reason. I called Amex and called my corporate travel, who spoke with someone at the hotel and reversed the charge a week later. I will never forget the rudeness, refusal to listen, and blind repetition of the situation from that manager when I called. He truly felt that he was justified in charging me for a cigarette smoke smelling room. Part of me believes that if Jonathan answered, I would not have had to involve Amex or my company. 4 Seasons please note - the actions of one employee have turned me completely off your chain, and despite spending 200-250 nights a year on the road, I'll stick with SPG/Marriott over your properties. read more

I love the I.M. Pei designed lobby of the Four Seasons Hotel. Others may find the dcor lacking in warmth, but I challenge you to tell me when your Prada-clad feet have sounded better walking across a room. Carpet just doesn't have the same effect. (& it traps dust, dirt & dander.) Service has always been courteous & efficient. I had lunch at the hotel this week, & I was especially impressed by Carlos' performance. He exceeded my expectations. Additionally, I received a timely followup email from the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, Michael J.K. Bonsor after I inquired about the crackers at the bar. Spa had Sauna, steam room, showers and relaxation room (with cranberry juice, tea and water) for hotel guests a few treatment rooms and spa boutique. Fitness Center was huge and machines state of the art and open for membership for residents of New York; hotel guest have a separate entrance and full (free) access during stay. For restaurants they have the casual Ty Lounge- great for breakfast and The Garden-perfect for a nice dinner. During most of my stay I walked midtown on foot but there is a RR-house car for hotel guests. read more

This hotel epitomizes class and luxury. I've stayed at the St Regis, mandarin oriental, trump, Plaza etc in NY and would rather stay at the four season. I'll tell you why... service is off the charts. The room is beautiful, i had a park view and just stared out the window for a while. The location is amazing, close to central park, shopping, theater, you name it. L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon is in the hotel, a great dining spot if you don't want to venture outside. It is a one star michelin, small dining area so make a reservation but food is what can be expected from a renowned chef. The room itself has a big walk in closet, large bath tub, good bath products and plush towels and robes. They also give the slippers, the good quality ones, not the thin ones that basically swipe the dirt of the floor like a swiffer (not that they have any). Room service is also good, i can't remember what i got some beet salad, fish and dessert, the combination of which made me fall asleep 15 minutes later. They are very accommodating if you need anything and respond immediately if you call for towels or whatever. There was some confusion with my bill and they ended up giving me a 15% discount for it being a problem at all. Also, celebrities and socialites are regulars here so don't be surprised to spot someone. I've also had work events here and their conference rooms are good compared to NY palace or other midtown establishments. The pricing isn't but food and service are great. I can't stress how amazing i think this hotel is. i've had plenty of bad hotel experiences, thankfully the four seasons has never been one of them. read more

I cannot say enough how amazing this hotel was. We stayed in a room with attached private terrace. The room costs approximately 2K a night, but it is worth it. We traveled to NYC for a long weekend getaway and a Broadway show, so this was the ideal location on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The service and concierge was amazing. We arrived late in the evening, but were greeted with smiles. My son was able to pick out a toy from their toy shop. Each day he had a new toy awaiting him in the room, or sunglasses, or a new tshirt. The staff was so sweet with my son! They all knew him by name and would play with him regularly. The room itself was beautiful. High tech controls allowed for the shades to be raised or lowered. We had Windows on two side of the room, so this was nice. The terrace was large and private. Approximately 100 sqr ft of outdoor space. Lovely for coffee in the morning or a cocktail at night. The bathroom was all marble with a large soaking tub and walk-in shower. Can I just say WOW to the water pressure. It was like standing under a waterfall. The room was turned over twice a day, and the facilities were spotless. We plan on staying her again for our next weekend get away! read more

My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon July 2017. Wow wow wow!! There were chocolates and champagne waiting for us upon our arrival. The view was beautiful and our room was immaculate! The bathtub was large and cozy, and if one so desired, they could watch television while taking a soak. Pricey as hell but worth it. We stayed in NY for a post Christmas getaway and decided on Four Seasons after Trump was sold out. The rooms are HUGE as are bathrooms, especially for NYC. It really is a top notch hotel but dear Lord you will pay for it. If you think Chicago prices are high, get ready to spend 4 digits plus a night for suite and cocktails are not in the $18 range but $27-$30 range. That said, the suite is impeccable and def high end. I do think Trump properties have better customer service but it's NY so I get the slightly snobby attitude. You can walk to so many places from here...you are really in the heart of the city. Our daughter's friend attends NYU and this is our home base while we are here. Room service is excellent. We walked through central park this a.m. and had a really good early lunch at the boathouse restaurant. Can't wait to explore more of the city and we plan on having cocktails later at the TY bar. If you look up the definition of "cookie cutter" in the dictionary, chances are you'll find a picture of them emblazoned front and center. Generally no real aesthetic to get excited about (it's pretty stale), but the service from everyone on premise is second to none. Front desk people down to bar backs - they're on their A-Game. If you're looking for a classy place for a cocktail that's vanilla enough to work with any personality, you've found it. read more

I'd say 4.5 stars! Great hotel on 57th between Park and Madison. Great area to be in for some shopping fun! Upon entering the hotel we walked up two flights of stairs (only a few steps each) and set our bags down thinking we had reached the front desk for check-in, but was told that it was around the corner to the right. Odd, you would think the check-in desk would be right in front. Anyways, we arrived around 6 in the morning and were lucky enough to get into our room right away. Everyone was so welcoming even at the crack of dawn. (I just wish there was a doorman at this hour to bring your luggage to the front desk for you. My poor hubby had to schlep 2 suitcases and a couple of small bags up all those stairs after getting no sleep on our plane ride to NYC.) After checking in, the bellhop (are they still called that?) took our bags and lead us to the elevator. He opened our door with a KEY! Not a card, an actual key! Well, an electronic version of a key, but I thought it was a nice touch. Made it feel more like home even though I rarely go into my own house with a key (we use the garage). Upon entering our corner deluxe room (we were upgraded btw) there was a mini bar in the entry hallway. At first I thought it was to make use of small spaces, but a few more steps in and there was a huge walk-in closet and giant bathroom. It may not be considered big in other cities, but by NY standards, it was freakin' HUGE! Passing the closet/bath area was our bedroom, again, HUGE!!! There was a very comfy bed along with bedside tables, a tv and a sitting area with a coffee table, sofa, and chair on one side and another table and a couple of chairs on the other side. We had a view of some construction opposite the hotel on 57th, but were never disturbed by it. When in our room we never even knew if there was work being done because there was hardly any noise. Service was great and FAST. We requested some drinks and it arrived in 5 min, no joke. We've had fast room service before, but this was super fast. I guess no one was ordering anything at that moment or something. Housekeeping was nice and quick as well. Checking out was quick and simple as well, once we got to the front. It would've been faster had they had an extra person or two working the desk. Though the hub still prefers The Ritz when visiting the city, I'd definitely stay here again. read more

Whenever friends visit NYC for the first time, my advice has always been: *Ride the Staten Island Ferry *Check out Grand Central Station *Walk up Fifth Avenue *Have tea in the Four Seasons lobby; it's a great break; very relaxing in a great setting. After tea, go the TKTS booth in Times Square around 6pm; there's not much of a line at this time, and still plenty of tickets to many Broadway shows. read more

I stayed here for my 29th birthday for a week! Although the staff can be a little judgmental, I didn't let their stares ruin my trip! The guests are a little snooty but I sashayed my way through the lobby like a queen on RuPaul's drag race. The location is very central and only steps away from all the bougie luxury stores which I am a huge fan of. The room felt like more of a studio apartment, with a large spacious marble bathroom with a cool walk-in closet. The service was amazing! They gave me a bottle of Veuve because it was my birthday! One night, as we were leaving, a paparazzo took our picture. Too bad for him. I'm not Margaret Cho. The hotel is beautiful in a big marble-y, federal court house sort of way. Some people are very particular about mixology so we ended up at the bar here two nights in a row. I tried a Singapore Sling since it was highly recommended. The last time I'd had one was in Singapore, at the bar they were supposedly invented at, and I didn't care for them. Too sweet. I guess it all depends on how they are made because the one at the Four Seasons tasted very different. My drink of choice was the Michter's Manhattan though. So delicious and potent. Russell Brand was there one night. I only recognized him because of MTV commercials and someone took a picture with him. I am old. He's quite tall and better looking in person. read more

I stayed here with my dad when I was like, twelve. We had curtain races with the electric curtains, i watched about 15 minutes of Waterboy before he turned it off due to vulgar language and we tromped around town. The hotel is gorgeous, the restaurant is fabulous and has amazing leek soup and the noise of the city is hardly noticeable. Maybe i'll have to convince my dad we should go back since it's been about 10 years.... read more

Ok the honest part - not cheap. We stayed 3 nights on their stay 2 nights, get the 3rd free. So at $899/night, it raises the expectations bar significantly. Ok the good... It was my 40th birthday and we stayed for a long weekend. In short. It was awesome. Our room was upgraded to a view of central park and downtown. The staff was EXTREMELY attentive to our needs and we were not greeted with any type of snobbery or high-townness you think you would expect. Staff was VERY eager to be help and assistance. The room, loved it. Modern and elegant, great bathroom, bed and closet. The location is an easy walk to Time Square, Central Park, 5th Avenue. Did I say awesome yet? This Hotel is just great! Perfect Location - right next to central park and Madison Ave, great restaurants and great shopping - Barney's, and many others (that I can't remember), short walk to the theater district and time square. Next to the MoMA Perfect Service - couldn't ask for better, four concierges always on duty, impeccable house keeping and room service. Great rooms with fantastic views - I think we were on the 45th floor and had a 270 degree view from our rooms, the bathroom was bigger than some of the downtown business hotel rooms I had to stay in. Touch panel for lights and curtains. We didn't have diner there but had light snacks and a cocktail at the restaurant and desert and coffee at the bar - great ambiance, not crowded and attentive service. Highly recommended. read more

Fabulous location, the showers are heaven and I havent slept soo soundly in a hotel in years. My only complaints: no coffeemaker in the room, no water bottles and no newspaper in the morning. read more

You can't go wrong when staying at the Four Seasons. The midtown Manhattan one is one of my favorites! Great location -- yes, just steps away from some of the best department stores in the city (think Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel and Barneys New York)! Spacious room and a huge bathroom (and there's even a tv so you can watch your favorite show while taking a nice bubble bath). I absolutely love the closet space too -- built in drawers and shelves. Rooms are very nice -- spacious closet and bathroom, cozy sitting area, yada yada. Obviously stellar service. But for $550 per night (and no view), I'd love maybe a bottled water and free Internet service. I'd also like to watch TV from the bed, which you can't do because the TV is small and facing the sitting area. It doesn't pivot enough to view from the bed and you couldn't see the small picture from there anyway. What's especially annoying is that there aren't any USB outlets in the room. I forgot my charging outlet. Most decent hotels have a remedy. Also, I'd sure like a coffee maker in the room. Annoying. And now I've just found out there's no iron/ironing board in here.
