Went in for a late evening drink and snack. Since it was a hotel restaurant we weren't expecting much but were surprised that the service was excellent, drinks were reasonably priced and quality was very good. Had the buffalo chicken quesadilla. Uniquely made but very tasty. Very laid back atmosphere with mostly hotel guest focused. Open spaced seating in comfortable atmosphere and lounging areas. The restaurant in the hotel is great. I grabbed a maple glazed salmon with broccoli, and it was some of the best salmon I've had! I was very impressed. The broccoli is covered in butter, but it sure tastes great. read more

Holy Freakin Spit! I stayed at the Doubletree in Downtown Nashville, I am an Hhonors member, so I had a food credit at the hotel, thought I would go downstairs to eat. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. I love this type of sandwich. But this one, IS THE BEST HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! The crisp, or the crunch was perfect, but it had a very sweet taste with a little bit of a kick after. It was cooked perfectly, juicy, not dry at all. It was amazing. I will have another one tomorrow, hell, I may fly to Nashville for this sandwich, it was that good. Apparently they got a new Chef at this restraint, he's young, a perfectionist, but creates his own incredible dishes. They told me menu was new 3 days ago. Regardless, I will eat this chicken sandwich every time I come to Nashville. read more

So, it's no secret that Nashville's in a bit of a boom. So, like many booms cities, hotels are popping up all over the landscape. That's not a secret, either. Here's the secret (are you ready?): hotel bars & restaurants are on the verge of becoming the next 'thing.' Don't believe me: look to NYC, LA, NOLA, Miami... A good hotel bar/restaurant can pack in the locals as easily as it nabs the tourists. Fourth and U should be on your radar. I'm surprised I haven't heard more people talking about it. Yes, there's no rooftop but there is a patio with plentiful seating, nice downtown views, big screen TVs, and cornhole. Yep. Fourth and U is ready for all your post-work/weekend foolishness and you didn't even know it. It's also ready for ballers on a budget. Happy hour runs from 4-7 and offers fantastic discounts on drafts, bottles and wine. Unfortunately, the cocktail list isn't part of the happy hour fun. As is becoming an uncomfortable trend in the city, cocktails will run you $13 a pop. Since I was here for happy, I stuck with wine and kept it moving. Even though I'm not much of a pinot noir kinda guy, for $5 a glass, I can change my mind. Quickly. The food menu isn't looking to win awards. It's looking to keep you fed. However, if *you* look, there are some gems to be found. Fries/tots are $3 for a huge plate. Toppings for said fries/tots run $1 a topping. For a large plates of tots topped with cheese, pulled pork and onion, I spent $6. I couldn't finish it. I left half on my plate (I took it to go). So, I was stuffed with fancyish bar food for $3... and $5 wine. Are you hearing me? Yelp pictures of the place didn't give away the fun and dynamics of the layout so, I hope, I fixed that. Fourth and U was a nice surprise and I can see myself coming back. Whether you're looking to post-game a hard work day or cornhole a weekend afternoon away, this Downtown hidden gem needs to be in your rotation. Your friends will think you're a local knowin' genius. Stayed at the hotel and ordered a few burgers from the restaurant which is just off their lobby. The burgers were tastey and the location is a great place to get work done. There are outlets to plug in electronic devices and while the weather didn't permit for outdoor activities, there is a cute set up outside with seating areas and a television where I can imagine enjoying given dry, warm weather. read more

This was a hot mess. Stay away from this place. The whole experience was terrible. I wish I could give less than 1 star. Maybe 1/4th star perhaps? The service was super slow, and the drinks were watered down. The staff seemed not to care at all. It took an 1 and 1/2 hours to receive my food, and when it did finally come, they delivered the appetizer and the main course at the same time. The food looked dried out, like it had been sitting under a heat Lamp for hours. This was terrible. Stay away!! read more

If you're staying at the Double Tree, by all means this is a nice hotel bar in which to take avatar of happy hour and maybe get a nibble. They have TVs at the bar and outside on the patio complete with fire lamps on chilly evenings. You might also catch a little live music scheduled daily. If you already have a room, definitely worth your stop. read more

I am A Diamond member through Hilton. So as I take advantage of my reward points and stay at Double Tree by Hilton in Nashville I figured why not visit the restaurant right in our lobby labeled Fourth & U. Big Mistake they have one waiter and we waited 25 minutes to be helped. As the server greeted us with menus another 10 minutes for him to return. As he then returned we ordered one Pepsi an appetizer and our entrees. Close to 30 minutes later the food comes out with no drink. I then go up to the bartender station where they right up their tickets to ask my server Kendall for a Pepsi he tried avoiding me to help other tables and I have to physically go up to him and ask him if he can bring me a Pepsi so I can eat my food that has now been at my table for 10 minutes. 60 minutes in and I can finally eat my grilled cheese that cost $15 and would have taken 2 minutes to perfect at home. Do yourself a favor if ur in Nashville avoid Kendall and this joke of a half ass restaurant and enjoy a real bar with live music down the street. read more

Not so good. Disappointing that the veggies and salmon were prepared below average. With a small menu it should be great. I'm not a fan. Bland meal. Ok I'm here again. After work just wanted to check in and have a lite bite. Service is poor. They don't pay attention. Customers just left after waiting for a waiter. Not your typical Hilton property. We're staying at the hotel for a few nights and I've gone to the bar a few times and had breakfast once. For a hotel restaurant it's pretty good. Love the bar area and live music at night. They have good happy hour drink specials, but the food items for happy hour seem to be the same price as the regular menu so that doesn't seam like a deal. Regardless, I enjoyed the hummus plate, it was a hearty portion with a combo of warm pita bread and veggies. For breakfast I had an omelette that was fairly good. It came with a cup of fruit and it was super fresh. Prices were a few $ higher than I'd like but I think that's what you get when it's right in the hotel. read more

Interacting with the wait staff and managers at this restaurant was an absolute joy! I came in on Thursday for the Nashville Rock n Roll 1/2. I had dinner there with my friends Thursday and Friday night and a full breakfast this morning. From the chef to the manager wait staff and kitchen staff all I can say is thank you...kudos...merci. Came down for lunch with 1.5 hours to spare before catching a flight out of town. I suspected this endeavor would not end well when I asked the very polite server what she recommends on the lunch menu. Much to my chagrin she had not had any of the offerings herself so could not make a recommendation. I settled on the fried green tomatoes to start and a burger, cooked medium, with sweet potato fries. 15 minutes later the unremarkable green tomatoes arrived with a plate of sweet potato fries. I inquired about the burger and the server stared at me perplexed. Once the confusion was settled I reluctantly ate the tasteless tomatoes watching the fries cool waiting for their burger companion. After 20 more minutes of waiting I finally had to find another server to get my check because the original server had disappeared and the burger never materialized. read more
