My husband and I are longtime La Verne residents and we love supporting our community. With that being said, we had tried Fourth Street Mill a few times right after they had opened. The service was bad, the food was over priced and wasn't even that good and the drink selection was minimal. We thought it was because they were new and still trying to get a hold of things. We stopped going, figured we'd try them again some other time once they had more "experience". We recently decided to go to Fourth Street Mill (it had been a while) We went on a week night, to have a drink and a snack after work. We walked in and sat at the bar, Bartender Diane saw us walked in and didn't even acknowledge us. She was making drinks, so I didn't want to make a big deal. After a long while she came over and finally took away the dirty mugs that were on the bar prior to us sitting there. She was NOT friendly at all!! We asked for paper menus and she reluctantly went to get them. It almost seemed like she was bothered that we were there. The drinks were poorly made, the food was still overpriced and not good! But most of all, the service was HORRIBLE!!! We were VERY disappointed and needless to say we don't plan to be back. read more

Came here for the first time during brunch hours. I definitely will return specifically for brunch. I had the breakfast burrito and it was really good with the salsa verde. We ordered the mega mimosas which is a bottle of house champs and juice for $18. They had golf and pre season football playing on the televisions outside. I actually like this place, as in the location. I have come here 4 times for just beer... and I can say the last 2 times I have felt like I wasn't seen at all. It takes a while for them to acknowledge I'm at the bar. It takes time to get another beer once I've finished the first one. The owner or manager spotted it right away. I feel like she's the owner. She helped me. Thank you for that. Last night was a bit busy 12/13; one bartender making all the drinks and pouring all the beer. Fine. I take a seat at the bar and sit for about 5 minutes. 2 women come to the bar and want to sit together so I move over. Giving them 2 seats next to each other. The bartender acknowledges them and says it's going to be awhile. Nothing said to me. Fine. After nearly 20 minutes of her making drinks for customers at tables she finally comes to the women and pours them their wine. Never once even looked in my direction. I'm directly next to them. The guy was sitting next to his wife and they were not very pleased with the lack of service or attention that I had received so they spoke up and said something to the bartender. Thank you to them!! I was just gonna wait patiently until I thought she was less busy. I appreciate them very much because I don't think that I would've gotten any service. Had they not said something and I even thought about getting up and finding another place to get a beer. I get that she might've been busy, but being aware of your customers I think is a minimal thing for a bartender to consider. Lemme just say the service was great! I really liked our server and all her suggestions were on point. Other then that....it was just meh. The tuna melt was $13, It was one slice of toast and the tuna was so boring I could've made it at home with way more flare. My husband got a beef dip and he enjoyed it. Came here on a Friday night. Dinner with my parents. My dad ordered the chicken Alfredo. It was seven dollars extra to add chicken to the Alfredo. That is absurd to me! My mom ordered the shrimp taquitos and I ordered the chicken strips with fries. My dad enjoyed his food. My mom and I, not so much. Her taquitos we're over cooked and slightly burnt. You could tell by the tortilla dark brown, so she ended up pulling out the shrimp and eating the shrimp itself. I actually ended up sending my plate back because there was zero flavor in my chicken strips. I honestly felt like I was biting into a piece of boiled chicken. That's how much the flavor lack in that dish. I do not recommend getting that whatsoever The highlight of our meal, though with a fried green beans and we used ranch instead of their sauce. Their sauce had a little bit too much spice for us so we ended up at asking for a side of ranch and that was amazing. I was hoping that since the green beans had great flavor that the strips would, but not the case. Cute little restaurant located in La Verne. It was busy for a Sunday brunch and you could immediately see they were short staffed as it took several minutes for us to be seated. Not knocking the ratings for that, because I know the restaurant industry seems to be short staffed in most places and when we were seated, our waitress was every friendly and warm. We ordered mimosas for our group and I had the blueberry and strawberry pancakes. I think what I anticipated was the berries mixed into the pancakes but they were just a side.. that was okay, but the pancakes were a little tough. As in tough to even cut through with my butter knife. The green bean fries were delicious though and we shared that as an appetizer. This restaurant is everything you can ask for when looking to spend an evening dining out doors with family or friends. The atmosphere here is so so nice, the quality of service you receive is amazing and the food is simply delicious! The Pan Roasted Salmon was filled with scrumptious flavor!Its served with horseradish cream-you can request to have it served on the side- I don't particularly like horseradish but I finished it off. It was that good! It went so well with the entire plate. The Berry Basil.. yum, it's berry good!! The Deep Fried Ice cream, wow! The fried ice cream sits on a shell that taste like a churro. Service was prompt and all employees were friendly. They were out of the fresh fish which my friend wanted to order so she switched to a salad, she said it was tasty but the presentation was odd and somewhat awkwardly plated for a mixed salad. Honestly, make the 3 mile trip to claremont. So many better options. We life across the street and finally tried for brunch. Options are not great, weird menu. $30 for 2 lobster tacos with no sides but a few tortilla chips. Took literally 25 minutes for the tacos to come out, we were already ready to go. Highly recommend the Pancake & Chicken Strips and the Hand-battered Fish and Chips. Both were more than enough for one person. My Breakfast sandwich was good but the side of breakfast potatoes was very small -- even my daughter noticed that I hardly got any (unlike her fish and chips side of fries which was huge). I had a grilled chicken wrap and it was good! The not as good: The sangria was alright, very sweet. The mojito my mom ordered tasted like perfume. A lot of heavy handed placement of water, wine glasses, and wine bottle. Our server did not come back to check in how we liked our meal but was there to ask if we wanted dessert. We place our order and had our not so fresh brewed coffee served. We waited 12 minutes before I asked the server did you get our dessert order...."yes" (with an attitude). When the dessert finally was served the placement couldn't be farther from where we were sitting at the table. "Be careful it is hot", replied the server. You forgot to tell us it was dry or stale as well. I understand the food service jobs are hard. When my Togo was delivered and the bill as well, it was plopped on the table. Maybe this job is not for her. I enjoyed my company and the ambiance, but not our server. We tipped her more than she deserved.
